Supposedly made an approach for James Lea Siliki as a replacement for Ntcham.

1.) 10 Jul 2019 13:47:28
hope so he's got mad silky skills.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 14:23:26
They knocked back Porto so that'll be that.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 16:03:01
We've got cash to spend Mally. If you think what we would get for Ntcham it'll go some way towards his fee.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 16:12:15
Would be a real statement of intent if we do get him but just can't see it happening.

5.) 10 Jul 2019 16:43:32
Jim a hope your right mate but it sounds a non starter.

6.) 10 Jul 2019 18:37:17
Tommy Smith on his way to sign, has said goodbye to his team mates according to Twitter rumours.

7.) 10 Jul 2019 18:53:49
1.5 million.

8.) 10 Jul 2019 18:59:32
Sorry 2.5 million,3 year.

9.) 10 Jul 2019 21:12:56
Is tommy smith a good signing lads. I don't know to much about him seems to be decent from way fellow posters are sounding.

17 Jun 2019 13:15:57
Lustig looks set for a move to Gent. I wish him all the best. A good servant and somebody who clearly took the club to his heart.

1.) 17 Jun 2019 16:12:57
I think he'll leave with everyones best wishes, great servant and a very likable guy. Thanks for the memories pc lustig. 🍀.

2.) 17 Jun 2019 17:10:54
Great servant good luck old bhoy.

22 May 2018 05:53:57
According to a couple of papers we have 9 days to come up with 10m for Edouard. Interesting.

1.) 22 May 2018 07:05:53
Papers jim it'll b a lot less than that ad Imagine.

2.) 22 May 2018 07:20:37
Rodgers confirmed himself That it was way less than the original 9 million quotes by the papers so that just tells you.

3.) 22 May 2018 08:53:09
Few reports saying it's around 5 million then add ons and sell on fee that could take it a lot higher.

4.) 22 May 2018 09:14:57
That sounds more like a ransom than a transfer lol.
We already agreed a deal for £7m so we can get him for that, no way we will even pay that much tbh.

5.) 22 May 2018 09:34:52
Sevco hacks stirring rubbish that isn’t there. Boy are they hurting.

Rogers stated the figure is nowhere near what was floated, by the same Sevco hacks.

We are trying to sign him and I think we will. Another Hunskelper signing is their worst nightmare.

Sweet Dreams.

6.) 22 May 2018 09:45:52
Mally/ Ken, I thought Rodgers just said that it wasn't 7m?

7.) 22 May 2018 10:04:50
It's not 7 million the gaffer came out and told the press that weeks ago.

8.) 22 May 2018 10:54:55
Even if it is, we will treble that when he moves on in a couple of years. That’s killing them too. :)

9.) 22 May 2018 11:00:21
O was wondering about this 10 million Brendan has came out and told us it's less than the 7 million first quoted so could the 10 mill include his wages and bonuses for in thinking 5 yr contract hh.

10.) 22 May 2018 11:37:40
Jim a thought he ment lower than 7 mate maybe nearer the 5 mill mark.

11.) 22 May 2018 12:06:30
£5m would be a steal. We know what we are getting, it ain't no gamble he is worth every penny. I also think having Edouard and Ntcham at the club is very good for Dembele.

12.) 22 May 2018 12:08:52
I’m thinking he will be round about the same price as Ntcham, similar contract aswell.

13.) 22 May 2018 13:52:01
Obviously the lower the better Mally. Getting into 8 figures suddenly makes a deal seem more of a risk. For arguments sake, if Dembele was to be sold for 20-30m, then I'd be ok spending 10m on Edouard. But ideally I'd like Dembele and Edouard.

14.) 22 May 2018 14:02:54
It's going to be a bit of a quiet week with a lot of players on holiday so it's big news for the them. If eddy gets over the line added to the renewals it's a good start. I don't think psg will be looking to extend a loan deal with the exposure he has had with us as it has alerted a few clubs who will pay more than our 5m+ add-ons.

15.) 22 May 2018 23:12:42
must be true if its in the Hun loving press.

16.) 23 May 2018 12:41:44
4m i heard.

30 Oct 2017 17:45:03
KT signs new 6 year deal. Brill.

1.) 30 Oct 2017 19:16:40
Great news

Get in Son . HH.

08 Aug 2017 11:09:49
Reports suggesting Paddy Roberts sees us as his preferred option on the table. With his rep meeting with Citeh (I'd guess he isn't part of their plans this season) get something done Celtic! I'd even take another loan if that was to be it, his position was the no.1 target for me this window and I'd rather have him for a year than not at all. A permanent deal would be great however we'd want the buy-back clause to be worth several million profit, just to make sure we don't end up losing anything spent more than anything.

1.) 08 Aug 2017 12:06:30
I'd hope they'd make him a Celtic player properly now; If a loan, surely we want the right to buy.

Presumably, Roberts thinks he might make the grade at City in time, and I think we can all respect that.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 14:40:20
Hi ED, have you heard anything about this? thanks in advance.

{Ed007's Note - City want a permanent deal and it looks as if Paddy's only wanting a loan deal.}

3.) 08 Aug 2017 15:21:17
Oh fur **** sake paddy bhoy. get your self back up here.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 17:00:43
rumours are he is scared of all the mad ferrets in manchester.

"My view on that is: if you are a strict vegetarian, you don't drop into Macca's just because you are hungry mate, you know? This is what I believe in. I don't believe in it because I am trying to prove something, I just believe it is truly the way to create a special team. It's not easy, sure, and there are pitfalls along the way, and you have to get the balance right. But I've had so much success doing it this way, I'm a believer in it, and it's how I think we will become a special team and have success. You have to be prepared for the fact - and I certainly am, and have had it throughout my whole career - that people are going to question it if the success isn't there. I understand that and I love the debate around it, but it's not going to change me mate. This is what I believe in. I don't waver in it. I believe it because I believe it will get us to where we want to get to. "

He'll live or die by this attitude but you've got to applaud Big Ange for his faith and determination in what he's trying to do.

1.) 19 Oct 2021 15:25:48
Well said Jim Tim ?.

2.) 19 Oct 2021 20:21:15
It seems to have worked out for him in the past and if he gets it going full flow with us well be another level to the spfl sfpl slpf? Whatever were calling it now?.

3.) 19 Oct 2021 20:41:28
Either the players are learning the system better or Ange seems to have refined the way we play the last few games. Not as gung-ho now so defensively we look better and look more controlled in how we keep the ball. Ideal way to play away from home and in European games.

31 Aug 2021 21:37:22
Just heard from a reliable source we're signing Neymar. Neymar Centre Backs, Neymar Left Backs and Neymar Strikers!

03 Jul 2021 14:58:09
Big opportunity for Dom. With the talk of fans groups wanting boycotts and protests - it's a chance for him to implement his ideas about 'engagement'. A word he kept using. Early impressions are that he's likeable. Perhaps we can see a fans forum again, so that these groups and the support as a larger entity could get some more in-detail answers as to what the clubs decision process has been at several points of the last couple of seasons.

1.) 03 Jul 2021 17:16:27
Although I am still dumfounded by the incompetence, complacency and abject failure of last season, we have to let Dom McKay and Ange get on with the job in hand with 100% focus and support, with no distractions or side-shows that fuel negativity and bad feeling. Lawell has left the building and DD has been ultra conspicuous by his silence and absenteeism. Give the new regime a chance to succeed.

2.) 03 Jul 2021 19:14:38
Fair comment OaB. But do you not think it might be a good opportunity for our new CEO to get rid of some of that silence and absenteeism? I can't see it affecting the manager or the players to be honest. The rags might paint an exaggerated picture of turmoil and unrest but that's it.

29 Jan 2021 07:58:35
PL away! Would have been quite happy for him to take a step back and solelt focus on the money side of things but that hasn't happened in the decade I've been complaining about him making football decisions so I have to say I'm pleased.

1.) 29 Jan 2021 08:09:34
So big the big changes are starting, wonder how long it’ll take to make management changes that are badly needed.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 08:41:51
PL is a fantastic CE and has done amazing with the role. The issue is his rumoured inference with football matters. If true I doubt he would have been able to not be involved. A clean break was probably required. Now I'd like to see news of a new DOF and Head Coach.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 09:18:26
Same BB. Hopefully this is the statr of a long needed shake up behind the scenes.

4.) 29 Jan 2021 09:40:33
Fingers crossed this is the start of some real change at CP.

5.) 29 Jan 2021 12:38:25
the start of a long process as i believe over the next season we will see the desmond family sell their controlling interest or at least dilute them and a lot of the major share holders do like wise, this will happen once/ if the current situation gets better and the finance returns to football. a new era will begin under new ownership it could take sometime for this to happen and it will be an up and down period before were the force we were.

{Ed007's Note - I just can't see Desmond selling his shares unless it was a crazy over the odds amount of money and even then at least one of his sons would be furiously against it.}

08 Oct 2020 14:02:21
Ok, so now that the transfers are in: We've signed several decent quality players and haven't lost any key ones (much to the manager's detriment, apparently) , generally speaking, what would be you're strongest XI bhoys?

5 of mine are new signings (including Moi) so a very good window really.

1.) 08 Oct 2020 14:24:48
No brown? Scott is a must start for me .

2.) 08 Oct 2020 14:42:45
Brown in that for me! Last week showed what we’re like without him! Yes he’s getting older and should be rested more, but he’s still vital. a midfield of McGregor christie and Elyounoussi is powder puff!

3.) 08 Oct 2020 16:33:44
There'll be games we need Brown no doubt about it but it's only really that grit and leadership he now brings. On the whole I think we could be a much more dangerous side without him. But hey, I was only wanting to hear peoples opinions and in a way I'm still glad people rate Broony's qualities.

4.) 08 Oct 2020 16:54:22
Grit and leadership are what wins these derbies Jim .

5.) 08 Oct 2020 17:10:25
Last week showed what he brings when he is coming of the bench, I think that is where he can make his best contribution, the poor performance last week was down to the mix in the team, it will need tweaked and finessed, are you all forgetting the poor performances from the previous week's and weeks when Scott played the whole of the games, let him be captain from the bench.

6.) 08 Oct 2020 17:37:46
Possibly D+P. There are game though where better football is what wins. Like I say. Brown will have his role to play. Personally I'd start him in the derby and look to bring on a better footballer against tired legs.

Red Bull seem to do well at helping clubs to grow. But some things are sentimental and worth more. 'Red Bull Celtic' playing in the white and red - not for me.

Neither have played much football so I can see both coming off the bench too ?. Hopefully when we're a few goals up.

Injuries happen and I'm sure Ange was well aware of the travel when signing him. Am I correct in thinking there was a bit of a fall out with Rogic being called up just after an injury with us under Ange? Or have I imagined that? Timalloy are we not seeing clubs have players banned for not allowing them to travel? On the plus side it gives Giakoumakis a good chance to show what he can do down the middle.

I agree Mally. I want us to win every competition we're in don't get me wrong but I wouldn't want the conference league becoming a hindrance on domestic duties. Maybes because it's just a new thing (as was the UEFA cup at obe point) it feels like a bit of a sideshow to me and I know what I'd rather be successful in.

I agree lads it could be painful. You never know but I think they'll have too much quality and Seoane has got them playing some really good stuff.

{Ed007's Note - I said last night on the pod that for me Leverkusen are a CL level team and they are playing well so far this season only losing to Dortmund and that was 4-3. They've scored 16 goals in 6 Bundesliga matches, 3rd top scorers behind Bayern Munich (23 goals) and Borussia Dortmund (17 goals). They've only conceded 7 goals as well and 4 of them were in the Dortmund defeat.}

We'll be a better side with certain players back no doubt but the team that's on the pitch should be doing better. The injuries can't be an excuse.

Just skimmed through that there Ed, I will have a better read later but it supports what I've picked up from the odd documentary about young city workers in places like Tokyo. Certainly something I think a lot of our youngsters could do with. I work for a large online retailer who have adapted a Japanese idea of cramming the working week into four days and it certainly seems to increase productivity and morale.

When people talk about Naka, yes he was technically brilliant and had vision but it was his work rate for me that set him apart and allowed him to orchestrate games. He was fit as a fiddle and it's no surprise he was still playing a decent level at 42.
