i read that benfica are optimistic of getting jota back in the summer as they have realised they have boobed by including a buy clause in the loan deal, does anyone think we will sign him or will he want to go back to them? i think he will go back.

1.) 20 Jan 2022 14:17:08
Nope. We won’t get him. But if we win the league with him it’s job done.

2.) 20 Jan 2022 14:41:27
I honestly believe he won’t sign for us. We are notoriously poor with loan to buy options! Both him and CCV will return to their parent clubs and unfortunately we will be left again.

Maybe some day we will learn our lesson??‍♂️.

3.) 20 Jan 2022 15:17:29
I would love us to get both players in on a permanent basis. But with Jota if his parent club do say to him that they want him back to play for them he will let his heart rule his head and go back as he is a supporter of them. CCV maybe have more chance off getting him in permanent I hope as he is a quality player also.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 16:04:30
Tbh I personally thought we would wait to see if wee win the league it's a lot of money to spend in January .

5.) 20 Jan 2022 16:23:57
Chalky1888 if both players don’t want to stay there is absolutely nothing Celtic can do about it.

6.) 20 Jan 2022 16:28:48
Might be a lot to spend T1M but it's like buying shares at an agreed price in the future and the value then increases considerably. Essentially it's cash in the bank and as we could buy now for £6m and sell in the summer for £? m. No brainer but needs Jota to agree to come - probably with a buy out clause. Ideally he comes and stays for 2-3 years but seems unlikely.

7.) 20 Jan 2022 17:27:57
If celtic are willing to pay the agreed fee on both jota and Vickers and they don't sign then it's the player or players who decided that. Celtic can't be blamed if the player doesn't want to stay and sign.

8.) 20 Jan 2022 18:03:21
Celtic sound priced out a move for jota from what I've heard tbh could be lies playing funny buggers over the fee .

9.) 20 Jan 2022 19:24:24
It would be hard to blame him (assuming he's a Benfica fan) . If one of us was loaned out from Celtic but then the club realised they wanted us back we'd go in a heartbeat. Need to just cross our fingers and wait and see.

ive got a horrible felling chris jullien won't be back playing soon and think it will take a very long time before he reaches a level good enough for first team duty if at all, hope i'm wrong.

1.) 02 Dec 2021 16:36:31
Truthfully I don't think we will see him back, think the big man wil be away in January, think we will sign a centre half in Jan and another two in the summer, don't think we will sign big Vickers, anyway on to the night, hopefully a few goals and a good performance.

just a little question, with lots of us calling for lennon and some want lawell to go at the same time how would the fans think if DD put the club up for sale, would it be a welcomed move as some will think we would get someone to buy it that would invest more, or would it be bad news as we may get a MIKE ASHLEY or a CHARLIE GREEN.

1.) 12 Nov 2020 12:45:29
15 years PL has had. Time for him to go after this season. I would go for a Director of Football with a fresh forward thinking outlook.

2.) 12 Nov 2020 12:56:54
Well you better hope he runs as tight a ship as pl or we might end up another sevco.

3.) 12 Nov 2020 14:03:54
For as long as I can remember in Sir Robert Kelly's Day, Celtic have always been run with a cannot, cautious, economic tight reign.
In some ways it has held us back and frustrated ambition.
Historically, some periods of success seem to end from our own failings to build from strength and power; preferring to stand still or even deteriorate; as could happen here if allowed to?
Our European pedigree has obviously suffered immensely in recent years; showing proof of the complacency that arose from little or no domestic competition and the financial restraints imposed on all managers after MON after the fear of witnessing TRIFC 2012.
On the other hand the club has been run efficiently and profitably allowing a Five-star Stadium with improvements to surroundings, superb Training Complex and healthy bank balance and stock price.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever, given our resources, facilities and network why our club should not be able to really dominate in Scotland indefinitely; however, this season has shown cause for concern, frailties and failings within Celtic Park; on the pitch and at Boardroom level and it might be time for DD and PL to make some very big decisions or they will be remembered for all the wrong reasons - just like the previous manager.

A very good and accurate response Celtic Mad.

18 Jan 2019 15:10:52
should scott brown leave celtic?

1.) 18 Jan 2019 15:28:26
Definitely not in the January window. He will decide himself in the summer - after weighing up the options - where his future lies.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 18:35:33
We should not allow him to leave in January. That would be a major disruption to have half way through a season.

3.) 18 Jan 2019 23:00:44
He's our captain there's no way I'd let him go, what kind of captain would leave half way through the season.

dont think he was offered any deal by celtic although their was paper talk, seen him on the tv coverage of the olympics looked ok but i didn't see any tough guy more a guy that wants to play it out, not sure he would suit our league.

correct on mc carthy ter not sure he doesn't fancy gucci as he brought him and he did know him before he came, regarding ferguson i never thought much of him but now i think youve got it right as i was trying to think of someone who would add a bit of steel to the mid and he probably fits the bill better than most. has anyone changed their minds on signing jota as a must? when he came i thought we would be very lucky to get him and we should do what it took to get the deal done now im not sure or to bothered if we don't get him as their must be other options the would contribute as much.

would it not be better to let him come to celtic park and face the abuse and humiliation he so deserves, as for the spitting from mcgregor if true does the fact he did it surprise anyone, he is and always has been a wrong un.

i agree with hatate getting replaced in mid as has said he's exhausted, he is also imo a bit of a powder puff who plays well when its all going well but doesn't like the game when it gets tough, haven't liked the mid when rogic and o'riley play together so i would play bitton calmac and rogic/ o'riley.

best team won, we will learn more from that game than we will ever do from games where we win easily like the st johnstone 7-0 game, no excuses but that ref.
