Apparently we are now linked with a CB from that Israeli team we played in the qualifiers. Interestingly he can play RB as well. Israeli press have said we have made a bid.

BigBubs

1.) 05 Jul 2019 11:17:35
Lawwell and his grubby link with Isreali agent Dudu Dahan.

2.) 05 Jul 2019 11:25:55
What's wrong with having a link with an agent from Israeli?

3.) 05 Jul 2019 11:29:26
Hopefully a non starter he’s hardly an upgrade on what we have

Lennon and Lawell should learn from that market, 3 players in and none made the grade.

4.) 05 Jul 2019 11:44:28
Kayal, bitton, both decent. And picked them up for pennies.

5.) 05 Jul 2019 12:20:30
Some on here wouldn't know a player if it bit them on the arse.

6.) 05 Jul 2019 11:41:01
None made the grade.
Ambrose done well though became a bit of a bombscare at the end.
Biton has been a very useful utility man and played all over the park for us.

7.) 05 Jul 2019 12:46:23
And kayal was a cracking player till injury wrecked it.

8.) 05 Jul 2019 12:53:44
Kayal was a decent signing.

9.) 05 Jul 2019 12:54:35
Kayal was a great player for us till Mcculloch ended him.

10.) 05 Jul 2019 13:41:46
Yeah and McCulloch was on an appeal from a suspension If I remember correctly.

11.) 05 Jul 2019 13:44:34
Kayal was a great signing just a shame he wasn't the same after that mcCulloch challenge. At least we're prioritising defenders for a change so if the guys solid enough and can do a job then it's a win win, one thing people can't do is judge a player from whatever league they play in or nationality they are, after all we hadn't heard of kayal and wanyama when they signed.

12.) 05 Jul 2019 19:28:57
I hope there was no dig to anyone's faith or belief We get enough from that lot without starting any ourselves. We are all Gods children no matter where you were born or what religion you are.

13.) 05 Jul 2019 21:21:09
1.8 million now being quoted. Looks like a goer.

14.) 06 Jul 2019 12:43:35
There should be no problem going for an Israeli player, what are we feckin demented? If anybody has a problem with the Israeli government, please don’t make an arse of it by taking it out on a player.

If he’s good enough should be the only criteria.

Just up at a tour and dine at Celtic Park. Tour guide said Arsenal have come back with a 25m bid for Tierney. Don't see it reported yet though.

BigBubs

1.) 01 Jul 2019 09:28:45
I'm sure all deals must be ran by the tour guide before being accepted. Standard practice at all the big clubs these days!

2.) 01 Jul 2019 09:53:20
It's probably hammonds other summer role.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 09:54:36
He'll know as much as us sly have a transfer show on today and there's no mention.

4.) 01 Jul 2019 12:23:53
Mally Sly have a transfer section just to drum up interest to keep them busy, half the stories are nonsense unless the deal is done, I've thought that ever since the Peter Odemwingie (spelling) farce haha unless CFC state a signing or someone leaving I never believe it.

5.) 01 Jul 2019 13:21:21
SW2 how can anyone trust Sly when they genuinely reported that Aberdeen had signed “Yerda Sellzavon” 😂.

6.) 01 Jul 2019 15:31:36
Probably but given the leaks around the club I can't say it would surprise me. Few rumours online that Jenkinson is part of the deal as well.

Poor performance last night. Woeful at times in the 2nd half. Strange lineup and again struggling against a well organised opponent. Was hoping for a different tactical approach this season. Even some earlier subs would help.

Some positives though. New LB looks good going forward. Christie looks sharp. Thought Morgan done ok. There is a player in there.

BigBubs

1.) 18 Jul 2019 10:53:16
There was a new tactical approach 3 at the back McGregor playing further forward a new winger set up with Forrest out left. Anything else you didn’t notice? We played great last night more speed on attack getting more balls into the box instead of pass pass pass. oh then another pass that we have seen the last 3 seasons? More direct and higher tempo exactly what Lennon said he would try to do. I will take that all season long? 🙂🍀🏆🏆🏆.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 12:17:37
That pass, pass, pass you talk about won us 3 trebles.
Looked to me it was 4 at the back with Ajer told to tuck in with Boli free reign to bomb forward. And what’s the point constantly putting crosses into the box when we don’t have a mumber 9 who’s able to get his head on the end of them?

3.) 18 Jul 2019 12:26:11
I agree the ball is being moved forward a lot quicker than it was last season, christ two years ago we lost in Gibralter and toiled for a while home as the players are not 100% yet. This year we knock out the bosnian champions and scored 5 goals and could have scored more so hardly toiling! Halfway through the 1st half the manager swapped the wingers over and it made a difference. There is a group of fans who do not want Lenny and will moan at anything regardless of how we do. These people are forgetting how dreadful were up till early december late November last season. We had a team out there that will not be the team that will start many games and yet we were comfortable,

4.) 18 Jul 2019 12:35:54
Let's be honest here. That team were very ordinary indeed and Bain had practically nothing to do - except pick the ball out the net, when we got careless at the the back and lost concentration.
We had almost total possession (as you would have expected) and some of the build up play was well-worked and created openings.
However, as per last season we struggle to score goals and finish teams off when we dominate games and we need a real striker.
Eddy is a fine player - but not a centre-forward and LG is still trying to fight his way into contention and may never be the same?
I know we have Bayo - but at the same time, he is either unlucky or injury prone and has never really got going in a Celtic jersey.
Sinclair does not seem to be in the managers plans for some reason and that again has contributed to the lack of goals, while his persistence to keep switching JF from his best position can be unsettling and damaging to the player and the team?
Obviously a RB is paramount to the balance and line-up of the side, but we really need to address the lack of goals as well, as opponents are going to get much tougher than last night.

5.) 19 Jul 2019 08:51:40
Bigp you must have been watching a different game from me. The formation looked the same as Rodgers only more direct. As said above its pointless being more direct when we are lacking up front. That team were on par with a lower placed SPL side. We should be putting 4 or 5 by them at home. We were crying out for 2 up front.

6.) 19 Jul 2019 09:21:09
Naka, I will back Lennon home and away this season as I've done for several before him. I'm disappointed that he hasn't tried to put more if his own stamp in the play. It still seems very Rodgers at the moment.

07 Jul 2019 11:36:38
Thoughts on Ntcham wanting away? For me it's been obvious his head was elsewhere for most of last season. Undoubtedly talented but lack of a solid work ethic will hold him back. Wouldn't be disappointed to see him go. What I am disappointed in though is missing out on the lad from West Brom.

BigBubs

1.) 07 Jul 2019 11:57:54
Said for a while now that ntcham wasn’t interested in being here! Add him to the list that’s put the boot into Scottish football in order to get a move! Get a decent offer for him and let him be on his way! Put the money towards players who actually want to be here!

2.) 07 Jul 2019 14:16:41
Well said Lh, the sh--- threw the towel in a long time ago, even our previous manager knew that, get him out asap, let him never wear the hoops again.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 15:03:13
The guy was given a great opportunity to improve and progress his career, but his attitude and application has been pretty shabby after a very impressive and influential first season. Pap him out the door.

4.) 07 Jul 2019 16:50:43
For us to take him out of the reserves for first team football it's a bit of a kick to the baws for him to then slag the league off and make out he's too good to play here. Body language has been off all last season we don't need passengers in the team. Can barely pass 2 feet in front of him or cross his legs half the time it'll only be the same in a harder league.

5.) 07 Jul 2019 17:53:05
Got to laugh at him slagging the standard of player when he’s one the worse set piece takers I’ve ever witnessed in a Celtic too! Good riddance!

6.) 07 Jul 2019 20:16:34
Don't get me wrong and it was out of order for him to come out and slagt off the league up here but the boy is a good player when he has his head in the game.
He could have wiped the floor with the opposition up here as he has shown in his first season that he was different class. His vision, passing and shooting as all excellent when he is interested and if he tried as hard as Eddi or Moussa did he could have had a load of teams chasing him.
For some reason he took the huff and wasn't interested.

7.) 07 Jul 2019 20:34:51
Wanted away to porto last season should have took thier money and bought a submarine.

8.) 08 Jul 2019 09:48:05
Put him in the reserve squad and leave him there till his contract expire.

04 Jul 2019 12:14:33
Now that Compper is gone it's had me thinking of the worst CB signings we've made over the years. From recent times I'm thinking :

Rafael Scheidt - was a disaster considering the fee. Pretty sure he had a solid career after he went back to Brazil though.

Du Wei - blatant attempt to gain a commercial foothold in China.

Compper - would love to know what the actual issue was.

BigBubs

1.) 04 Jul 2019 12:58:04
Any chance of a rb coming in tonight before Europe deadline at 11pm If am right you can still sign a wildcard up until 24hours before the game.

2.) 04 Jul 2019 12:58:42
He was sheite. .

3.) 04 Jul 2019 13:32:07
Scheidt was a full back and has still got to be our worst player due to the transfer fee. We have had a few poor defenders over the years because we spent most of our money on attacking style players. The players I remember the most who were a disappointment were Lee Martin and Gary Gillespie.
I remember Gary got off to a great start scoring scoring early into his debut, I think against Falkirk. I missed the goal due to the big queues, trying to get into the Celtic end. It went downhill for Gary after his bright start. Tebily wasn’t much better.

4.) 04 Jul 2019 21:46:49
Frank Munro was equally as bad as those mentioned. oldkilly.

5.) 05 Jul 2019 18:40:33
Always remember Martin O’Neill’s comments on scheidt. He just can’t play, I thought he was just nervous but the boy can’t play lol.

Rumours floating around the Desmond is leaving. Might be a good thing?

BigBubs

{Ed007's Note - There's no rumours. A blogger - the same blogger that has been predicting administration at Ibrox since the new club started - wrote another vague blog with no facts whatsoever. He did include a third parties opinion that the reason we went cheap with Lennon is that Desmond COULD BE trying to make the books look better so he can sell his shares, all it is is unnamed person (if he even exists) giving an opinion.}

1.) 03 Jun 2019 08:50:53
With the amount of false calls of doom and final nails in Sevcos coffin, this guy has put out there, it utterly amazes me anyone gives a running feck what he says. Both him and Phil O’Doom need to wind their necks in. Hardly a week has passed in the last seven years when they have claimed to have access to info that will see them fold.

Still here. We have stood and waited for them to catch up by being us. A board of dithering rubbishbags, who seem to be more concerned with lining their pockets. Again they go for Lenny the cheap option and within 48 hours Lawell comes out with his there’s nothing to see, we are really ok sh it. I have the same level of trust for the doomsday duo as I do for our board getting anything right. And that’s a big fat zero.

27 May 2019 18:51:57
Watching McGinn today we missed out on a cracking player. He won't be at Villa for long.

BigBubs

1.) 27 May 2019 19:18:55
Totally agree. I was desperate for us to sign him and the notion that he wasn't good enough for us was purely football snobbery.

2.) 27 May 2019 19:19:17
Said it at the time massive mistake. The natural successor to Scott Brown and the timing in that respect would have been absolutely perfect.

3.) 27 May 2019 19:41:36
Was fed up saying he'd have done a job he was excellent today a real work horse with a goal in him.

4.) 27 May 2019 20:48:47
Spilt Milk - another example of Lawell/ Board incompetence and complacency. The guy was there for the taking and we fecked it up.
McGinn wasn't for hanging about and we were too hesitant/ stubborn.
Last summer's transfer window was probably the catalyst in the last manager leaving and the next transfer window will probably disappoint more than impress and excite - just because they can.

Yeah. Wanyama may have worked out however wouldn't fill me with confidence that the manager is being backed. Surely the manager should at least be aware of potential signings?

Would bite your hand off for half of that tbh. He has a big goal in him but far too injury prone. Question is does he need replaced or is there someone already in the squad that could step up?

Difference is Tierney has earned his move. Ntcham has shown up for about a dozen games in his time but thinks he's better than Scottish football. Only one deserves to leave with the fans blessing.

He would definitely be a solid back up. Personally don't think Ralston can cut it. Was he not a bit injury prone when he was with us previously?
