Ibe and Benkovic on loan.

Meling permanent.

Greg Taylor wants a move to Rangers.

Henderson and Hayes out to SPFL teams on loan.

Eboue and Hendry likely to secure permanent moves before the window shuts.

Just passing on what I've been told.

Buster88

1.) 25 Aug 2019 23:49:46
Taylor was on Twitter liking stories about him moving to Celtic.

2.) 26 Aug 2019 07:14:13
i know many rangers fans have played for us before but if taylor wants a move to them I don't want him any where near the club as ye don't know if he will fight for this club especially in a 9iar season. I for one could not pull a sevco top on and fight for them no matter how much they were paying me.

3.) 26 Aug 2019 09:32:28
I will probably get some stick for this but I'm not keen on having Benkovic back, for me my CB pairing is Jullien and Ajer, what would that say about our lads if Benko comes in and straight into the team would any of you drop Jullien or Ajer? Don't see the benefits of bringing him in just another void to fill when the loan is up! Hopefully we get a RB LB and a winger after yesterday's performance from Bayo I think we are covered up top with Eddie Griff and Bayo. Ideally would of been good to have all our dealings done but things really need to pick up speed now.

4.) 26 Aug 2019 10:46:13
Based on reports of Celtic paying £40k p/ w for Ibe, probably similar for Benkovic in addition to the purchase ) £3-5m for melling i can't see it all happening.

If we got Melling and strengthened the middle of the park with a fighting cdm/ cm i would be delighted - or if Koassi could get fit and play a few games let us see if he's has it or not. I hold out some hope for him :)

5.) 26 Aug 2019 11:19:17
Ibe came on for Bournemouth yesterday so he's in there plans.

6.) 26 Aug 2019 13:12:43
Howe stated a week or so ago ibe is not going out on loan he is In his plans so why people keep going on about this baffles me.

7.) 26 Aug 2019 13:20:52
Samcfc put big ajer at RB, with Jullien and Benkovic CB, Melling LB 👌.

8.) 26 Aug 2019 15:22:23
Not for me souny.
Ajer is the CB we should be building out whole defence around for years to come.

9.) 26 Aug 2019 17:30:51
Shoot me down in flames if you want but big Ajer has been our most solid right back in all the games I've seen him play the position. I would be quite happy if he was to retain that position. Fill some with confidence and as shown against the jambos, not scared to go forward.

10.) 26 Aug 2019 18:16:33
I’d honestly like to see the big man play in a CDM role.
If he had Benko and Julien behind him then I’d be happy with that!
From what I’ve seen, Brown should be used more sparingly as he gets older, and Ajer could easily slot into his position, winning the ball, commanding presence in front of the back line and knows how to pass the ball about.
Would be very interesting to see, guy can do a turn at RB definitely think he could do one in CDM.

11.) 26 Aug 2019 20:42:41
From what I have seen this season Ajer looks better at RB than CB i think at CB sometimes he is beat for headers in the box and there is no way he should be, I think he would also do a great job in Browns position protecting the back 4 and stepping out with the ball.

At the end of the day I don't really think it matters too much where he plays, he is a very talented footballer and will probably be the next to go for real big money. Sadly of course.

09 Jun 2019 22:10:14
Ntcham appears to be away after unfollowing all Celtic players and staff on Instagram.

Buster88

1.) 10 Jun 2019 06:17:12
Good luck to him, the only way is down from us.

2.) 10 Jun 2019 07:31:48
Probably just needs a break from his work. Why are we so desperate to hound this guy out?

3.) 10 Jun 2019 09:39:07
Shame if it's true. Quality player but it doesn't appear he wants to be here especially since dembele left. His form has dipped dramatically since then. Once we get a good transfer fee then wish him all the best and invest it into the team.

4.) 10 Jun 2019 12:17:00
The Dembele situation has nothing to do with it for me, he signed a new deal last season to extend his stay for 1 more year. Why would he do that if he wasn't interested?

5.) 10 Jun 2019 12:27:04
His form dipped after injury, before that he was playing well.

07 Jun 2019 17:55:10
See that Kalas now linked with sevco. We supposedly enquired in January but I see he wasn't named on the leaked documents as a target.
Can we take from that that our interest has ended?
Shame if that's the case as I think he could do a job for us.

Buster88

1.) 07 Jun 2019 18:53:44
Kalas will fetch a fee of £5m-£6m at least. There’s no way Sevco can pay that.

2.) 07 Jun 2019 22:50:35
Bahul Mustafazade, sorry spelling.

3.) 07 Jun 2019 22:59:11
Was that shabby leaked peice of paper not just one persons notes from a meeting.

31 May 2019 19:45:01
So we are actively speaking to players and their agents in the next few days.

NL says he wants players who get bums off seats with a wee glint in his eye. In my head I'm hoping its Weah on a permanent deal, in reality it will most likely be Martin Boyle from Hibs PMSL

On a serious note I've heard his first signing will be Turnbull from Motherwell for £2M plus add ons.

Buster88

1.) 31 May 2019 20:10:39
Can't see weah coming back with the way he left/ told to leave.

2.) 31 May 2019 21:10:24
Weah isn’t coming back after rejecting to play in a final and shouldn’t be welcome back!

3.) 31 May 2019 21:46:08
Did he reject us or did NL just tell him to get Tae?

4.) 31 May 2019 22:22:12
Weah barely got his own bum off his seat. Spent most of his loan on the bench. Plenty of potential but didn't live up to the hype in the end.

5.) 01 Jun 2019 00:12:08
Turnbull looks a talent but I'm pretty sure if we paid the 2m or whatever they're asking he would jump we'll ahead of our own younger players like Henderson which in turn halts there progress.
The question is with our midfield just now do we really need him or is this a buy and loan back and see it as one for the future?
I personally think we could be doing with trying to shift the likes of bitton kouassi and ntcham and bringing in a real solid box to box player to play alongside mcgregor and play brown in certain matches next season, as much as I'd love to have him in the team we play better football without him in it.

6.) 01 Jun 2019 00:38:33
buster you keep believing that mate, pedro won't spend a bean on the team. he will make the illusion look good.

7.) 01 Jun 2019 09:02:39
wyllie, my reading of the Weah situation was that he showed a lack of interest in coming back for the cup final so Lenny told him he may as well go there and then. In a way I think that was a strong call by Lenny, if you can't give us everything we don't want a part of you. HH.

8.) 03 Jun 2019 08:58:01
Weah is nowhere near good enough. Turnball i think will go to Sevco and unless they go bust this Friday, as the will, I absolutely believe they will spend more than us this summer.

Cast your minds back to last summer where a raft of posters thought we would push on. We did feck all to sort out our weaknesses. I have a horrible feeling Lawell has already hid the tin again.

19 May 2019 20:31:31
Big Sutton claiming he has inside info that we did approach Mourinho. I hope at least this is a good sign that the board is showing a bit of ambition.
Lennon looked pissed off at the interviewer on the pitch at the end of the game when he thanked him for stepping in (assumptive that he won't be here next year) . I think Lennon still fancies himself for it but I have not spoke to a single supporter yet that says Lennon would be their number one choice for it.

WTF is Bolingoli playing at. No idea if the club could be sanctioned for his actions. He's offered nothing since he came, time to send him packing.

Buster88

1.) 10 Aug 2020 22:21:46
It's all very weird. the Aberdeen players knicked out to the local boozer

Boli went to spain meanwhile griff had a wee house party whilst doing impersonations of Tom Hardy on tiktok.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 22:33:45
a total embarrassment for our club a one player throwing parties and now this. these are meant to be grown men and role models total brainless.

3.) 10 Aug 2020 22:43:10
I am usually all for giving people second chances but his stupidity is on another level. The dangers are on the news every hour both on tv and radio.
He should be sacked immediately because we can’t have someone like that in the dressing room with such disregard towards his club and teammates.
I heard the rumour yesterday but I didn’t believe it.
He has been in contact with the full first team and now they could be told to isolate for a couple of weeks.
Could this happen? OR would the players be allowed to play because they have tested positive?
This news will be ammunition now for the Aberdeen game to be cancelled and because of Boli it probably will be.
I never want to see him in a Celtic jersey ever again. Disgraceful.

4.) 10 Aug 2020 22:51:42
Wealthy air heads.

5.) 11 Aug 2020 00:59:38
I meant to write tested negative.

6.) 11 Aug 2020 01:23:49
If reports are true bolingoli should be sacked with immediate effect. Celtic must make an example here. I said last week that Aberdeen should be deducted points if any game they play is postponed due to those players negligence and I stand by that, now I’m afraid celtic must face the same scenario, that’s if sturgeon doesn’t just stop the whole of Scottish football. I cannot believe a player could be so selfish as to go to a country they know is forbidden, come back and not self isolate. That twit new the rules and put not only himself, his immediate family, the whole Celtic team, but the entire Kilmarnock team also in jeopardy, that is totally unforgivable and again in my opinion for me should be enough to sack him. never should this guy wear the hoops again. Raging is a complete understatement 😡😡😡.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 02:02:36
4 days off for the players is shocking if true.

8.) 11 Aug 2020 06:54:11
Mibi LG house party was a cover for him to go with him.

9.) 11 Aug 2020 07:32:31
If those players had 4 days off 1 game into a season then lennon needs his baws kicked! And we wondered why we were so far off it on Sunday! Jullien was rusty! If true, and added into Griffiths pish lately then ain’t ****n good enough! Every single player and management should be focused more than ever for our tilt at 10! This is just amateurish.

10 Aug 2020 10:35:02
Controversial opinion coming up, not a knee jerk reaction to yesterday's result, just what I think will make us better going forward:

- Sell Christie and Rogic.
- Replace them with Paddy Roberts and Ryan Fraser.
-Use Elyounoussi through the middle.
- Get Ntcham in the team at all costs, even if Brown is dropped/ rotated.
- Experienced centre half required.
- Left back required urgently.
- If Elhamed is fit he should start ahead of Frimpong.

I can't put my finger on it but I just can't take to Ryan Christie. I get he puts a shift in but he is normally chasing the ball he has just gave away. Good player but not the superstar he sees himself as.

With regard to Brown I like him and still think he has a lot to offer but when teams aren't going to hurt us through the middle of the park and camp on their own 18 yard line what's the point of having him in there at the expense of someone more creative like Ntcham?

Buster88

1.) 10 Aug 2020 11:16:27
Harsh on Christie for me Buster. I don't think he swans about thinking he's a superstar at all and let's not forget who scored the goal yesterday. Having said that, he's had a slow start and I'd have gone with Ntcham yesterday tbh.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 11:17:14
The whole team were awful but Ryan had a mare.

3.) 10 Aug 2020 11:38:24
My issue with Ryan Christie is he’s not as good as he thinks he is. When he scores he then runs around trying worldy passes or shots which rarely come off. When we step up against better players his ball retention isn’t great either, if you could join his effort and work rate with ntcham passing ability we would have a terrific midfielder
.

4.) 10 Aug 2020 12:13:35
I felt the same about Commons when he played that position for us. Scored goals but I viewed him as greedy and selfish which you can see irritates team mates at times. Obviously Christie isn't as lazy as Commons but I'm just not a fan of his. In the CAM role I'd have Elyounoussi, Ntcham and Rogic if fit in there before him. Stuart Armstrong was probably my most preferred player for that role in the last 5 years, could score and create, had an eye for a pass and got stuck in and worked hard for the team and wasn't always injured like Rogic.

5.) 10 Aug 2020 13:14:22
Last season there was too much mischief making speculation about the huge valuations and importance of Christie, Ajer and Cal-Mac and maybe some of that in Christie and Ajer's case is causing big-heids?

28 Jul 2020 18:22:56
Peterborough confirm a Scottish team has bid for Ivan Toney.

I was told 3 days ago that Rangers made a move for him by a mate who claims to have contacts with a few agents. Same guy told me Greg Taylor wanted to snub us for Rangers so his info is always a hit and a miss, more the latter.

Just wondering Ed if you have any info on us bidding for Toney now that Ajeti apparently has cold feet. There's is obviously a connection with Strachan coaching with us now.

Also Ed do you hold any concerns about us selling Edouard this window? New contract talks seemed to have cooled and we are being linked with variety of strikers.

Buster88

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any further talks regarding Toney and if it is us that have put in a bid (did their chairman say when this bid went in?) the Peterborough's chairman will have royally pi$$ed off Peter Lawwell. I think Darragh McAnthony is being economical with the truth. And I'm not believing some West Ham bloggers take on Ajeti's situation.
Right now I have no concerns that Edouard will leave.}

1.) 28 Jul 2020 21:05:22
I think Peterborough are talking gash in an attempt to force a transfer.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

2.) 28 Jul 2020 21:09:44
Good to hear Ed. I always had the feeling french Eddy fancied 10 in a row but with the amount of forwards linked wondered if something was in the pipeline.

The team is shaping up nicely. 1 or 2 more on top of Ajeti and Barkas and I think we could have a team for the league and European run and then field a team for the league Cup and Scottish Cup, and still be favourites for the treble.

{Ed007's Note - I'm still optimistic that Edouard will sign the contract extension and as I've said on other threads about the number of strikers we'll need 4 if we're going 3-5-2.
Overall I think we've done OK so far in the window, replacing Forster with Barkas could be a masterstroke even financially, Elyounoussi resigning for the year could be massive for us as he has the potential to run amok up here and is already a potential POTY. When you look at the performances of Klimala, Soros and some of the youngsters there is a level of quality waiting in the wings.
The only negative is Simunovic and that's more to do with the number of CBs although for me Welsh could easily take his place in the squad.
The most important thing was sorting out the GK situation and now we've done that - and with spending decent money - let's hope Pedro keeps the good(ish?) work he's done so far, will he show the ambition for CL qualifiers though 😋
I just needed to get that dig in there lol.}

3.) 28 Jul 2020 22:17:42
Am I the only one that's glad jozo has left the building?

{Ed007's Note - We'll always have this....... 💚😢

4.) 28 Jul 2020 22:58:50
Couldn't agree more regarding MOI. injury free and good run of games he will run the show up here I predict 20+goals no problem.

5.) 28 Jul 2020 23:52:55
When miller finally lands I'm sure he'll agree it was a great tackle.

6.) 29 Jul 2020 09:31:20
one of the best tackles in football. it set the tone for the whole game. thanks for the memory big jozo and good luck hh.

7.) 29 Jul 2020 00:28:52
He was worth signing purely for that tackle Ed. Thing of absolute beauty.

27 Jun 2020 00:00:21
Evening All,

Celtic have an alleged top wage bracket of around £40k per week.

Let's say for talking sake we wanted to sign a player like Ryan Fraser who is a free agent. It's clear he is worth more than £5M in today's market. If we offered him a basic salary of £40k per week would we also be able to offer him a lump sum of £5M, paid either at the end of a contract or paid over the term of his contract or as an upfront fee? Going by my math £5M over a 4 year deal would equate to around £24k per week.

Would something like this be allowed or am I over complicating things and would he just be offered £64k per week contract?

Or would it be totally pointless as a team in the English premier league would offer him £64k per week or more plus a massive signing on fee/ bonus fee as well and we would be blown out the water completely?

All hypothtical in terms of the player and the figures mentioned there. Just a thought based on the fact if it's a free agent who clearly has market value can we push the boat out in other ways to sign them whilst maintaining a salary cap to save all players wanting £60+k per week deals.

I've no idea how these things work. Any insight is appreciated.

Buster88

1.) 27 Jun 2020 10:23:20
Why don't we stop paying these obscene wages.

2.) 27 Jun 2020 11:43:30
Because if we paid rubbish wages we'd have a rubbish team.

22 Jun 2020 23:11:37
Seems like Gordon is off given his choice of language in his latest interview. Referring to Celtic as 'them' a few times I don't think he feels part of it anymore.

I think it's clear Lennon never really fancied him given how he gave Forster the no.1 Jersey as soon as he came back.

I've never been Gordons biggest fan but feel he has probably been treated a bit harshly here. he's been a decent player for us and a big part of recent success. If the club wanted him, even as back up they probably would have sorted a longer deal at this time last year or at Christmas.

I suppose there's no room for sentiment in football. Let's hope there is a few back up options in case Forsters head is turned back towards the premier league.

Buster88

1.) 23 Jun 2020 00:48:29
Wouldn't say he was treated unfairly. His career was over before Celtic took a chance on him. Leaves with a bigger bank account and plenty of medals. He can finish up at a smaller club and get plenty of game time.

2.) 23 Jun 2020 02:07:24
He was hopeless at crosses into the box and always conceded at his near post.1 less high earner out the door. Read he was on talksport. A station for clowns
and halfwits.

3.) 23 Jun 2020 03:55:40
Why is it that any time a player leaves or loses their place fans say he is being treated harshly?
He wasn't up to the job, if he had been in goals for any of the Lazio games or the cup final against the orcs then we would have lost all 3.

He is a decent goal keeper but remember it was us that gave him a good deal for someone who had been out injured for so long and we took a big chance on him.
Also we just signed Bain up on a new 3yr deal so I don't know why we would even offer Gordon a new deal if we are looking for a new No:1 and young Doohan progresses like we hope.

4.) 23 Jun 2020 09:17:04
He did have some great performances, but also some very rash and careless periods that cost goals - and don't get me started on his distribution ha ha. He leaves with a lot more medals than he came with after we resurrected his career, that is now in it's twilight.
I fully expect him and Johnny Hayes - like so many other ex-Celts, who play against us to try that wee bit harder to prove a point.

5.) 23 Jun 2020 09:42:38
He is a better keeper than Forster, I predict that if Forster comes back, it won't be long before these pages are filled with his critics as his mistakes mount up.

6.) 23 Jun 2020 09:54:11
Gordon is a better keeper than foster? that's one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard on here.

7.) 23 Jun 2020 09:57:26
If rangers offered the same as offered gordon would have been in a Sevco shirt. Good servant but wee both move on .

8.) 23 Jun 2020 10:01:08
Aindoh honestly pal, gie it a rest! We are all entitled to opinions but u continually come on here and spout utter nonsense to get a reaction! It’s boring now mate! In what planet is Gordon better than Forster honestly! Planet aindoh!

9.) 23 Jun 2020 09:49:17
So that looks like Gordon’s away and Fraser Forster isn’t a signed Celtic player. That leaves Bain, Hazard and Doohan. Can see the Celtic mentality at work here saying that if you score, we’ll score 2. That tells me that there won’t be any other keeper coming in and Edouard will be signing a bumper new contract.

10.) 23 Jun 2020 10:51:13
I think 4k a week plus substantial appearance fee is a good offer for a 37 year old 3rd choice keeper (that's what has been reported anyway) . Read he was on 20k. That's bonkers when u add in what we were paying FF last season. He won't get as much elsewhere but the chance to play should be his motivation at this stage of his career.

11.) 23 Jun 2020 11:15:55
Read the post again lads. I said a bit harshly. Yes he can count himself lucky we gave him a lifeline after injuries but in my opinion he has served the club well. Out of respect let the guy know if he is needed or not.
As I said I have never been his biggest fan but if Lennon is out last week saying he is hopeful he will sign on why was a contract not put on the table earlier? I'm not desperate for him to stay but if Forster doesn't come back we will be very short in the GK department and when going for 10 it's the one position you don't want to take risks on.

12.) 23 Jun 2020 11:32:59
Forster is the best keeper I have witnessed in the last 40 years for Celtic.
Gordon is also one of the best I have seen but I wouldn’t say Celtic have been blessed with good keepers over the years.

13.) 23 Jun 2020 12:09:43
I think Gordon has been a good servant and did well for us, but he's had his day and its time to move on, especially with the wages that he is on. If he was to take a massive pay cut he may well be worth keeping as 2nd/ 3rd choice, but I doubt he'd be happy with that, and a championship/ league 1 club will likely pay him more.

14.) 23 Jun 2020 12:55:10
Thought I’d do a bit of digging as I’ve always thought Celtic have had decent keepers – some right enough have been rank.

Keeper – Games – Clean Sheets %age

Craig Gordon - 52 – 28 -54%
Fraser Forster- 197 – 102 -52%
Magnus Hedman – 37 – 23 -62.16%
Rab Douglas – 161 – 88 – 54.66%
Jonathan Gould – 152 -76 – 50%
Dmitri Kharine – 10 – 6 -60%
Sanchez-Broto – 9 – 5 – 55%

I always thought Boruc was sh*t hot, but 222 – 87 -39.19% hmmm.

15.) 23 Jun 2020 13:32:55
Stengo
I wasn’t a big fan of Boruc because he took advantage of Celtic and the fans.
He put on loads of weight but the fans still idolised him.
Boruc was a brilliant keeper on his day but I don’t think he fulfilled his huge potential with Celtic because of his inconsistency.
I grew up watching Packie Bonner but I wouldn’t say he was any better than Craig Gordon.
Sorry Aindoh but I think Forster is a level above them all and the way the other Celtic players praise him for his performances in their training sessions would back that theory up.

16.) 23 Jun 2020 13:36:44
Between your critism of one of the most decorated players ever to play the game and now this tosh . give it a rest aindoh.

17.) 23 Jun 2020 14:22:58
Buzz,
I can remember the tail end of Simpson and he was decent. Very agile, very athletic and a first class shot stopper. Bonner was reasonably decent but he made too many errors for me. Got to like Ally Hunter over Denis Connaghan. Celtic had decent keepers but when you look at the stats, those who looked decent weren't as good as the figures made out. I used to go and watch the reserves a lot and the frightening thing was that Ian Andrews looked decent at that level although he was a bag of nerves in front of a crowd. Lathford, on the other hand was superb with the 2nd string but was rank with the first team.
By the way, the stats I posted were up to 2012 but I'd be interested to see the comparison with the Forster and Gordon since then.
The only stat that makes Forster look rotten is his goalscoring record - 407 games played and no goals scored? Come on!

18.) 23 Jun 2020 17:53:37
Stengo
I think Gordons clean sheet average was probably helped a lot with having big VVD and Denayer in front of him.
It was also Gordon getting sent off in the defeat to ICT in the Semi that cost us the chance of a treble that year.

19.) 23 Jun 2020 23:21:55
Goals aren't always a keepers fault, sometimes there's nothing a keeper can do. Penalties for example, are mostly 50/ 50, u get the odd keeper that's a specialist but I guess that's more down to being lucky and gaining a reputation which breeds confidence.

If u look confident your opponent will notice, that's why most penalty takers don't look at the keeper, cos keepers always try to psyche players out. Im rambling but I expect us to have a few more penalties against this season so forsters stats could look worse again. I wouldn't have anyone else in our goals this season, big forster knows the score, he's experienced and he's as calm as u can get, he will be invaluable if we can get him.

The player holds the power. If he wants to go to Celtic and we want him then Petersborough will accept an offer rather than risk losing him for peanuts in January when we can sign him on a pre contract.

It looks like we will play 2 up top most games. Griffiths and Klimala have a bit to prove. Ajeti can play anywhere across the front. 4 strikers competing for 2 positions is ideal.

I thought that as well last night when I read the news but maybe its the same approach as when we brought Edouard in from PSG. He was second on line to Dembele at the time, we made it permanent the following season knowing Dembele was very likely to move on. Toney and Ajeti come in this window, they settle in for a year before looking to step up as the main man next year when it is more likely Edouard will want to go.

I thought he was off to Sevco to replace Morelos.

Can't disagree with you Kev. If the original post is to be believed I'm just saying I'd take him over Bayo.

If it was up to me I wouldn't have either.

Weismann and Ajeti both look good, need to admit its only from YouTube videos.

Risk to Celtic team mates:

Training days beforehand in build up to game.
Pre match meeting.
Post match meeting.
Probably shared travel.
Sharing the same changing room.
Warm up.

Risk to Kilmarnock players:
3 mins on the pitch

I think its fair the Kilmarnock game goes ahead.

Ryan Fraser.

I think it could be done if both parties wanted it.
