Just read we have had another bid rejected for Omar Colley. Don't know whether it's an old story revived to stir things up or are we caught in two minds between Colley and Doughty? Whatever the case just do it Celts!

1.) 22 Sep 2020 17:43:13
Ones a CB and the others a winger so I don't think its an either or situation.

2.) 22 Sep 2020 20:57:53
Ajer away for 12-15 with add ons, and Coley in for 9ish. sounds about right. Timalloy. God bless mate. God will make everything ok.

3.) 23 Sep 2020 11:18:20
I think if we let ajer go for less than 20 will regret it in a couple of seasons.

Been a bit quiet on the transfer front (both in and out) as we go into our tenth competitive game since the Bolingoli incident, without bringing in the left wide player we are looking for.
That's bad enough, but speculation about up to three players leaving is also hampering us with distracted players not giving 100% and possibly 'suitors' dragging it out, waiting to get a deadline day bargain with last minute bids?
Checking todays gossip pages, Eddy, Ajer and Ntcham are all rumoured to be targets in this 'window'?
Also, I see Charlton now have a new owner so maybe that will affect the Doughty situation; with the club apparently looking at loan options if a final bid is unsuccessful?
Deadline day can't come soon enough for all concerned, so we can try to settle down, with the best players for the right positions - happy to be here - playing as we can; Right?

Before the 'Lennonites' hit me with we won and we are through - Please admit, honestly that there is something wrong with our play.
Every team we have faced so far this season have been nowhere near our quality and resources, yet we fail to turn vast amounts of possession into chances - never mind goals. The midfield does not complement each other, the play is too slow and predictable; team selections are unbalanced and short of pace and we isolate our striker.
Most disappointing, is we should be a much better team to watch and enjoy, if players were played in their best position and formation.
I appreciate he has two players who may be on the move and others may come in? However, we can be a much better team than we are watching.

Frimpong's forced substitution when JF got injured got us out of jail.
Eddy has struggled for weeks and is either carrying a knock or badly needs a strike partner to share the load. Broony should not be starting EVERY game when we have so much talent - especially when he, Ntcham and Cal-Mac cannot function fully in the same midfield. It's so obvious to everyone except NL.

This season has seen convincing home wins against Reykjavic, Hamilton, Motherwell and Ross Cnty; but away from home (and obviously in European games) we seem to be a different side completely - even though we have the same players at our disposal, the same possession but not the confident performances to show for it and it's a worry.
OK we are through and a kick in the baws away from top spot in the SPL, but it's so frustrating when we all know what we can and should be doing going into October. Rant over.

1.) 24 Sep 2020 21:06:56
For me McGregor, Brown and Ntcham do not work playing together. Its got to be a combination of 2 of the 3.

Lately there seems more teams packing defence anytime we play them. In my opinion Turnbull needs to be playing more, he can score from outside the box and I think he is going to be a key player for us this season.

2.) 24 Sep 2020 21:30:02
As always Celtic Mad you are 100% correct. 👍.

3.) 24 Sep 2020 22:33:02
Why does Brown have to be in that combination of three?, why can't it be McGregor, Ntcham and Turnbull or Christie, why does Brown have to be anywhere near it?,

4.) 25 Sep 2020 01:44:49
because his contract will say if he is fit, he plays. there is no other reasonable explanation for it.

5.) 25 Sep 2020 04:34:25
Great post celtic mad got to get his team / system right said it before a ball was kicked and hereI am still saying it hh.

24 Sep 2020 16:41:20
So is it a back four of:-
Ajer Bitton Duffy and Taylor?
Forrest Ntcham Christie Brown Cal-Mac

1.) 24 Sep 2020 17:23:09
God knows.

2.) 24 Sep 2020 17:25:16
Celtic Mad
I think we will start with a 3-5-2 with Christie playing up front.
With that lineup Lennon can switch formations during the game without making a substitution.

3.) 25 Sep 2020 04:40:01
Does not seem to know how buzz hh.

21 Sep 2020 15:22:29
Celtic and Aberdeen both fined £30,000 BY SPFL for breaching CV regulations. I reckon it should come out of Bolingoli's wages?

1.) 21 Sep 2020 15:57:34
Spfl are a bunch of crooks throw fines out and bans out we got 2 match ban and politicians involved boli should pay this fine he done it he was guilty and we were taken to the cleaners spfl are there to be fair well if 30000 grand is fair well that's sound like corruption and who contest this the club wasn't guilty a d I think this is a joke I hope celtic fight this as it the usual no wonder the Scottish, leagues have no respect for this mob.

2.) 21 Sep 2020 17:09:46
I think the biggest fine a player can receive is 2 weeks wages.
If so the fine Boli got from Celtic will pay the fine the club has received from the SPFL.
Only £8k has to be paid immediately and the club will be forced to pay the rest if Celtic are involved in any further C. V issues.

3.) 21 Sep 2020 17:56:38
Is it not 8K with 22k suspended?

4.) 21 Sep 2020 18:49:44
Simple question that Celtic should be asking the SFA.

The club has done nothing wrong and complied with all required rules in place.
The player took it on himself to take a break (against the instructions of the club)
The player disregarded the quarantine rules.
The player did not inform the club and trained with teammates.
The player was selected and took to the field of play.
SO, I ask, WHAT RULE DID CELTIC F. C. break?
Club should appeal. (I think they would have a case in a court of law - not a route we should consider)
It's just plain wrong.

5.) 21 Sep 2020 19:27:53
Aberdeen had 9 players who broke the rules, we had 1, why were the fines the same? .
The whole thing is ridiculous, I don't see England getting sanctioned for the actions of Greenwood and Foden and I don't imagine Man utd will face any penalties for what McGuire got up to in Greece.
I don't have much time for English football but at least they have the sense to see that the clubs can't be held responsible for the actions of their players.

6.) 21 Sep 2020 19:38:03
Tiny Tim as much as I agree it’s unfair it’s how it is in law. The principle of vicarious liability means that as the employer you are ultimately responsible for the actions, errors or misdeeds of your employees. Trust me I’ve been there.

7.) 22 Sep 2020 17:49:39
So 8 players = 8k fine
1 player = 8k fine. 🤔. Still waiting on the SPFL punishments to Robertson and Park for the dodgy dossier comedy.

20 Sep 2020 12:53:48
Apparently we have conceded four penalties already this season and it's still September.
Obviously we have defensive issues that need to be addressed, but the interpretation of The Honest Mistake Merchants will also be a factor in those given and conceded.
Both penalty incidents yesterday would have been ball-to-hand before the new 'interpretations', but the Livingston player actually stopped a goal bound shot and was excused, whereas the official gave a PK as soon as it had hit Ajer on the arm.
I don't know anyone who can slide into a block - at pace - with their hands behind their back without risking injury? It's an instinctive balancing and protection reflex to be in that body shape, not a deliberate 'diving save'. I fully expect more of the same to come.

1.) 20 Sep 2020 14:09:45
Every penalty we have gave away has been a penalty not because of operation stop the 10 or the honest mistake brigade are out to get us or whatever mince is going on in your head but because we are very poor defensively. Barkas looks awful imo, that's twice he has been beat from distance now.

2.) 20 Sep 2020 14:39:14
Agree about the pens malky but feck me the best keeper in the world would not have stopped that imo he's done not too much wrong.

3.) 20 Sep 2020 14:49:13
Re barkas not so sure

I think he needs to settle

I fear he is already playing with pressure and that can galvanise or destroy

Time will tell . he is young

What's in front of him doesn't always help.

4.) 20 Sep 2020 15:00:06
FF was always good for a penalty save, and earned us a few points and maybe even a trophy? Barkas is more like Craig Gordon with them and I think one might hit off him; but I am not getting on his case.

5.) 20 Sep 2020 15:14:04
Its weird. for me . he simply doesn't fill the goal . he could do with adding a few pounds and maybe playing with those hands that people put on st the American football.

6.) 20 Sep 2020 16:36:18
On barkas he had the best first touch at the club. Maybe he can play left back! Think it's more the defense that are the problem. All over the place including the pub league defender. Needs sorted asap.

As usual PL is haggling and low-balling - all the while the lad could have been playing in the position we need the most. Typical!

As I said; it was an either - or choice oldkilly. If they have great potential (and can't get near the squad) then loan out before they're unsettled and get snapped-up. I agree he won't feature for City, but I would think they will loan him out like so many others on the books.

Seems to be a fair few being poached and it is a worry. Whether it's for financial or career prospect reasons, we need to put a lid on it. With no 'Reserve League' we should either promote to the senior squad or loan-out the best of the bunch to protect the future.

Lennon is either too stupid too, stubborn or too unprepared to upset certain players and the reluctance to play to our obvious strengths, may not affect today's result but it will damage our entire season.

I get the effect it must be having; but other teams are managing to deal with it without the disruption and frequent underperforming.

After the CL defeat NL announces that 'there are some players that don't want to be here - and haven't for some time' apparently. Followed by a humble contradiction (probably) initiated from PL.
The respect, loyalty and commitment seems to have evaporated since then in both directions for the few that initiated the statement?
In my opinion, there needs to be some 'exits' before we can all move forward - not to mention finding replacements for those leaving.

I noticed that last night just before we (fortunately for us) scored; He looked beleaguered at John Kennedy, while there is no enthusiasm or encouragement and he very rarely got out his seat.
I suspect there is a dressing room split and he is being undermined in a similar way to RD, when he was hung out to dry.
As I said; fortunately we got that goal - or who knows what we would be discussing today? The malcontents have to be sold, so at least the players that really want to be here can get on with it. Otherwise we could see a deterioration affecting even more players, with guys like Ajeti, Barkas, Duffy, Soro, Turnbull and Klimala doubting why they came in the first place?
Taylor is getting abuse every game and thank feck there are no fans in the ground or the lad would be destroyed. He will never be KT, but is a capable left back - no more, no less and he runs his heart out every time selected. Step forward Eddy, Ajer and Ntcham.

As a manager who knows club inside out, he must know the reasons for these performances and the problems within the squad. Otherwise he would be better just packing it in now.
The support are perplexed and frustrated at what we are watching and a media, more than willing to stick the boot in at every turn.
After the CL exit they creamed themselves as he opened up about the unrest and unhappy players at the club and that was humiliating enough, without being 'advised' to retract this 24 hours later and trying to put a positive slant on the moral and team spirit for the next game.
There are obviously still problems with certain players seeking to play elsewhere, but he has to pay lip-service to the press without losing face or exposing the club to outside sniping and gloating.
Most of us are concerned with some aspect of the club or another but he is right not to give ammunition to detractors and foes.

Seems we have been saying the same thing since the CL exit Buzz. There's a decent enough left back in Taylor, but we don't have any pace/ penetration left-side the way Frimpong excites on the right.
The transfers-in looked to address our needs, but why we still don't have a left sided player in place at the end of Sept is ridiculous; As is the managers perseverance with a system that - as well as slows us down, suiting every opponent - doesn't get the best out of the team, especially when our own players actually nullify each other!
I also agree about the attitude and desire that's lacking in certain players, who can obviously play much, much better and it's going to get worse unless the problem is rooted out, whether by moving-on or playing in a formation that gets the best from them.
Finally, I hit a nerve on here when I said NL didn't have the bottle to drop Broony and I stick by that and it's obvious he does not trust a team that does not include the skipper, whether it's to carry the underperformers or protect a shaky defense? However, that too must be addressed before Scott Brown 'burns-out' before Christmas, playing twice a week; mostly against teams we should be beating without him. what odds he plays against Hibs (sunday) ?
