See Hjelde and Andersen wanted by Leeds, I hope this doesn't happen these players have potential, hopefully Ange can persuade them there is a path to the first team 🤞.

1.) 24 Jul 2021 11:29:43
Who's Anderson mate.

2.) 24 Jul 2021 12:25:11
Mally, 17yr old defender some are calling the new KT.

3.) 24 Jul 2021 12:49:34
Apparently young full back with high hopes of being the next KT, hopefully we can keep them.

4.) 24 Jul 2021 13:59:18
Thanks bhoys 👍.

5.) 24 Jul 2021 17:19:39
They were calling Ralston the right back KT and look how that’s worked out 🤔😉.

23 Jul 2021 13:08:08
Are the reports true about a bid from Brighton for Edouard? 21m.

1.) 23 Jul 2021 14:37:00
Think they are just rumours at the minute, supposedly palace are going to be coming in with a bid . However if we start with ajeti on Wednesday we will not beat the Danes . Ajeti just doesn’t suit our system, and barely looks a threat. Apart from a chance eddy should have taken last week I thought he was good and the threat went when he went off.

2.) 23 Jul 2021 15:09:21
The Edge is off Eddy’s game he hasn’t downed tools I just think the edge that gives him that but extra has gone so time to move on AFTER Wed as Ajeti has no presence whatsoever.

3.) 23 Jul 2021 15:30:32
He is just going through a lean spell, once he starts scoring, everything will be fine,

4.) 23 Jul 2021 15:33:14
Agree totally, hopefully Kyogo is the new Henrik!

5.) 23 Jul 2021 15:36:37
No it's 25m euros apparently.

6.) 23 Jul 2021 16:49:39
Yeah that's about 21m sterling 👍.

7.) 23 Jul 2021 17:30:34
@Turner1984 if Kyogo is the new Henke then I swear that Abada has a touch of the Lubo about him.

8.) 23 Jul 2021 20:13:46
Then the future will be green and white 🍀🍀🍀.

9.) 23 Jul 2021 21:09:40
Eddy wasn’t great last season but still our top scorer.

19 Jul 2021 11:21:11
Does anyone else not think we miss a trick by not exploiting the South American Market?

I was on transfermarkt earlier and players playing in top flight Brazilian league are valued quite cheap!

Porto exploit the South American leagues and their return from investments is unbelievable, in a 10 year period they made 776m in sales!

We are the perfect club to allow players to progress and be in the shop window for teams from premier league and the rest of Europe.

However Ed you might be able to help out here are there work permit issues for players from South America?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, there would be Work Permit issues in England and Scotland for cheap South American players. It is much less of a problem in other countries, such as Portugal.}

1.) 19 Jul 2021 12:00:34
Language spoken, climate and culture will play a big part with these players and who they sign for.

If you're Argentinian or Brazilian a move to Spain or Portugal makes perfect sense.

Playing Malaga when it's 25 degrees and the sun's splitting the rocks or Dundee when it's 10 degrees and pishing down - I know what I would choose.

2.) 19 Jul 2021 12:06:15
Lucky if you get 10 degrees in dundee.

3.) 19 Jul 2021 12:12:18
Me too, Dundee. Have you ever tried playing in heat like that?

4.) 19 Jul 2021 12:56:14
😄🤣😂 aye - nae bother.

5.) 19 Jul 2021 17:11:00
Not possible unless these guys are International players due to work permit regulations at which point they are not affordable.
Markets we should be exploiting are Netherlands, and the Scandinavian leagues. The players play in similar climates, their own leagues of similar standard and our finances dwarf the majority of clubs in these leagues.
In Netherlands in particular the technical abilities of players are very high and bargains are there, just look at Larsson a Scandinavian player playing in Netherlands or Virgil Van Dijk.
Majority speak English and have a good track record in our country.

6.) 19 Jul 2021 19:21:13
Good points all round there!

Some cracking players to get in the Eredivise

Kyogo's national team mate Yukinari Sugawara from AZ Alkmaar, RB for 2.7m absolute bargain!

Jordan Teze CB from PSV, 6.7m is a snip for him his value will go right up in the future!

Danilho Doekhi from Vitess absolute unit of a CB, 2.7m absolute bargain again

Maximiliano Romero 2.7m from PSV decent striker

I thought the Eredivise would be an expensive market but seems reasonable.

7.) 19 Jul 2021 19:47:13
I hear what you're saying Turner1984, there's players out there to be had.
Totally agree GGGG - Viking Power☘.

{Ed007's Note - You should see Barry (Ice Man) then, Pedro!! Jeez oh man I thought he was The Berserker from WWE when I met him yesterday!}

8.) 19 Jul 2021 21:17:03
Brilliant 😄😆🤣.

{Ed007's Note - 😁

9.) 19 Jul 2021 21:28:14
Turner, transfermarket is not an accurate transfer fee website. Some people like your self take it as if it Is the gospel.

10.) 20 Jul 2021 00:01:58
Juninho Juarez Pena Emerson Schiedt are few reasons why we don’t look at that market.

11.) 20 Jul 2021 15:47:29
All this talk of players from European markets is a bit more difficult now because of brexit. Previously EU players could move freely within the single market, not the case now, and we are left on the outside looking in.

06 Jul 2021 18:54:06
Would anyone take Alioski? Free after his departure from Leeds today, I think he would be a great addition.

1.) 06 Jul 2021 19:20:31
Definitely, although I’d say he would be out of our price range regarding wages. We wouldn’t be able to match Leeds wages and he’s turned them down.

22 Jun 2021 12:17:34
If we lose Hjelde to Leeds that will be shocking for the youth promotion policy we all crave, things have to change!

I hope this is mere gossip and no actual substance to it, these young Bhoys need some first team experience in the upcoming friendlies so big Ange can have a look at what the future holds!

Some of the players we are being linked with along with fresh deals like Ralston are what you expect from Aberdeen, Hinstock etc, not Celtic!

We need to invest heavily in a scouting network, countries like Scandinavia and Eastern Europe where players are accessible for a cheaper rate than the inflated nations that do the same to us!

{Ed007's Note - It looks like Okoflex is away to West Ham as well.}

1.) 22 Jun 2021 12:44:17
Okoflex is nothing special, the centre half is a good player.

2.) 22 Jun 2021 12:44:22
Not bothering about Okoflex, he's not good enough. Worrying about young Hjelde.

3.) 22 Jun 2021 13:20:08
I think we should do away with youth academy and go down the Brentford route.

4.) 22 Jun 2021 14:14:18
Gar - definitely mate it’s been a right poor return if you look at the players that have done something from our youth

We have lost a good few recently and from those left I honestly can’t say they have remotely impressed. Can’t judge these guys playing youth football or on loan at small clubs.

Maybe the new boss will change that, good luck to him cause he definitely will need all the luck in the world.

5.) 22 Jun 2021 16:39:50
My only argument toward this is our youth teams up to a certain age do tremendously well at prestige tournaments across Europe and in America, so for me the talent is clearly there, its how they are nurtured into the first team.
Players with big potential should be sent on loan as soon as they are possibly available to, to get game time, the colt team isn't really my thing, when you have lads 19/ 20 they aren't lads anymore they should be playing mens football no questions asked, if not then for me they aren't good enough, or move them on to one of the lower league sides with a set cheap 1st option fee, so that any making waves can be captured again, Andy Robertson didn't turn into a superstar over night, the model needs tweaked!

However of we had a bit of balls about us we would give these lads a chance like Ajax do, make them flourish, sell for big money, chuck the next one into the mix!

We've had far too many wage thieves at the club over the past, plenty without a sell on value, so why not adopt to what makes sense and adopt fast!

The top Celtic talent are snatched at an age where they should have been involved in the first team, been offered a decent length contract and allowed to establish themselves in the mix with the first team, even loaning out, but only after giving them a chance, confidence is crucial with young lads, and knowing they are wanted and believed in is massive.

I was very impressed with how big Ange spoke the other week about youth getting a chance, I hope the likes of Hjelde benefit from this!

6.) 22 Jun 2021 17:54:04
I must admit that I haven't seen Leo Hjelde play but the talk is that he is exceptionally good for a 17 year old and he plays in a position where we are struggling. Yogi Hughes at Ross County was full of praise for him when he was there on loan last season.
If it's true that he's in talks with Leeds then I don't understand it, that is IF he is in talks with Leeds.
I tend not to believe too much of what's in the media because over the last number of months they have got next to nothing right about Celtic but that doesn't stop them writing stories to get attention. HH.

7.) 22 Jun 2021 19:41:57
The biggest problem in Scotland is that we still seem to think players are kids until they get to about 22.
Every other league and in internationals if the are good enough they will play at 16/ 17/ 18.

8.) 22 Jun 2021 20:22:53
Look what happens when you give your talent a chance. Bellingham, Reyna, Pedri, Fati, Halaand, mbappe, Wirtz, Rodrigo, Muokoko. That’s just off the top of my head, top top players that got chances at there club at 16/ 17.

9.) 22 Jun 2021 20:31:53
Jonbhoy71 I agree mate and when they do get their chance, that delay stalls their development.

Personally I'm of the opinion young Dembele should of been given a run of games when Forrest was injured last season as he was the best natural RW we had.

Hjelde I can remember when he signed, but never knew anything about him untill hearing rave reviews when on loan at Ross County.

10.) 22 Jun 2021 23:08:36
Dembele for me should of started far more games last season, christ we cried out width and every club wanted him 2 years ago!

Johnbhoy this is my point entirely, 16,17 and 18 they should be in, the lads who have had their chance and weren't good enough (Ralston as an example) shouldn't be getting a sniff he should be on loan getting game time to see if he could change our minds, and the likes of Bitton/ Rogic should've been moved on with the likes of Robertson getting more game time.

11.) 22 Jun 2021 23:17:30
An Academy that has produced Forrest, Calmac and KT and that's it in 12 years. It's a feckin waste of time. We produce players for the Dundee's of this world. And Welsh isn't good enough either.

1m Mcann to Preston surely a massive opportunity missed here, cracking player especially at that price, surely enquired but must of wanted to play down south.

Just a quick one regarding transfer activity, I have a feeling Jota and Giakoumakis will be the only incoming dealings completed today.

Leaves us shorter on quality, however.

McCarthy hopefully can bolster the midfield with a bit of fight which is missing in our game right now.

With Giakoumakis coming in I hope it's for Kyogo and him to compete for the CF position, not for Kyogo to get put on the left, but still should be great competition for that position!

Ralston and Juranovic are good options for RB so I'm happy here.

I believe Scales will be CB option so we could've done with a LB however Montgomery needs game time to progress and I feel he has what it takes to take Taylors position.

Abada or Forrest on the Right again im happy with that, and young Dembele when he's back to fight for a role.

On the left we are yet to know what Jota can bring but he has potential, then Johnson to come back its potentially a weak area but its still options that we didn't have last year.

Hart will be a big player for us this season, he will make mistakes but he will in turn make brilliant saves, what more can we ask for in this position.

I feel Starfelt isn't the answer for CB, nor Julien when he is back, this hopefully will be sorted in the future. Don't get me wrong against most of the SPL these two are fine alongside Welsh, but in the big physical games they aren't anywhere near it.

I believe with the sales of Eddy and Christie today it will leave a January kitty that Ange can utilise with probably targets identified from the J-League which he has mentioned in a previous interview that its the best time to dip into that market.

Big tests ahead this season, especially in Europe, Leverkusen and Betis have fantastic players, Ferencváros will also be no mugs.

I've enjoyed the way we've played in games this season under Ange, exciting, fast and something to be proud of and the man himself is someone who represents the club exactly how we want to be represented.

Physicality its still a big scare and to challenge for the title and domestic trophies will require this to be addressed moving forward, however let's enjoy what's happening and make conclusions at the end of the season, plenty work done and plenty still to happen!

A replacement for Rogic again required, he's very replaceable and served his time, played well in games this season but doesn't have the legs to go a full season I don't think. Bitton also should be replaced.

Happy LG has left he's had his chances.

The board must not take the foot off the pedal with supporting Ange in this rebuild, bringing in the right players is crucial, let's not sign players for the sake of it.

1.) 31 Aug 2021 15:44:30
Agree with your assessment of the CB situation.

04 Aug 2021 06:49:40
Nathaniel Clyne and Cahill sitting there free transfers, get the Irish Young lad in, Doig, Ferguson and Nisbett and I think we've had a decent transfer window, if Eddy was sold that's plenty left to invest moving forward as well, we should kick on and get these players in.

{Ed007's Note - So basically you're saying if we sign practically a whole new first team it'll be a 'decent' transfer window?
Calm down there Turner, don't over excite yourself there.}

1.) 04 Aug 2021 08:25:27
Well Ed we know fine well we need another two full backs, CB, another CM and ST so yes Ed practically a new 11

Hart New
RB New (Clyne)
Starfelt New
CB New (Cahill)
LB New (Doig)
Soro or New (Ferguson)
McGregor
Mccarthy New
Turnbull
Abada New
Kyogo New
ST New (Nisbett)

8 of the 1st 11, your not seriously happy still with what we've got Ed, stop being so calm and get a reality check it's what we need!

{Ed007's Note - Calm? I'm a 47-year old man mate, there's far more important things going on in the world and in my life for me to act like a daft wee lassie about footballl transfers.
And let's face it, even if the Club done exactly what you wanted it would still only be 'a decent window' for you and you'd still girn about something.
Here's a reality check - if you're older than 18 and transfer windows affect you like this you should maybe step away from the keyboard and spend some time with your family.}

2.) 04 Aug 2021 11:54:40
Too funny 🤣😂😁.

3.) 04 Aug 2021 15:33:00
There's still another 27 days of the window and Ed's already turned savage as fck 😂.

{Ed007's Note - Come on, he started smoking again - after 2.5 years - because we went out to Midtjylland and then for some bizarre reason accused me of defending the board

28 Jul 2021 21:12:54

They've been that woeful 2.5 yrs of stopping smoking has come to an abrupt end, this is shocking beyond belief.

Ed I hope your not going to defend the board here for being ridiculously slow in the transfer market, this is unforgivable!

01 Aug 2021 09:50:40
Last night is a massive lesson.

We can't defend crosses still, a towering CB is required to command the box!

Need a pacy pair of wing backs who can defend, Ralston again well done son for your efforts.

The positioning of the team when defending is atrocious, my goldfish move around the bowl in a more coordinated structure and the lack lustre energy from the midfield to get back and support when we are under counter attacks is shambolic to put it kindly.

Why play a striker that doesn't want to be here?

GK is a massive must, in foster we had a guy who could pull off saves that would win you points, these two can't do that, sweeper keeper doesn't work its becoming embarrassing.

The new lads need to settle in big ask on their league debuts to produce miracles however the planning of this is mainly at fault, sick of the excuses of rebuilds take time, the signs were clear all last season, how long do they actually want to rebuild?

New staff required with new ideas urgently otherwise we are stuck in the same rut, don't like people losing their jobs however I'd lose my job for underperfoming so why haven't they?

A club like no other is a tag line that's diminishing daily. Yes we've been privy to an unbelievable 9 years but that is no excuse for a lack lustre season followed by an underwhelming start to a new one.

If the board had the fans best interests at heart this fiasco wouldn't continue, so is it not the board that needs an overhaul? They should be extremely proud of the job they done up until the point BR left the club. It's been backwards ever since and anyone with any common decency would hold their hands up and allow a new reign to commence, if they love the club as much as we are made to believe, however I believe £signs are the only love they truly hold dear.

Hopefully our ranting will soon become a thing of the past, however I believe there's more chance that Barkas would save 1/ 20 shots than that happening HH.

1.) 01 Aug 2021 14:14:46
If Ange doesn't get rid of Strachan and Kennedy he might as well quite now.2 out of the 4 new signings are in the first team. to many players are complacent due to no one to challenge them. forest, Bitton just to name a couple.

30 Jul 2021 09:33:31
Man City absolutely walked the park with Preston the other night using young lads, these lads are top talent, many won't get a sniff at the first team these season!

Morgan Rogers ST, Yan Couto RB, Cole Palmer LW, Itakura when he's back from Olympics!

get them in on loan ASAP, Man City changed their youth loan policy so that you can loan these youth players for 2 year for stability for their progression, these lads have all the ability we require.

1.) 30 Jul 2021 11:00:44
Just like ntcham .

2.) 30 Jul 2021 12:16:54
To be fair, ntcham looked every bit a player when he came in. Feck knows what’s happened to him since but he ain’t the same player we signed fae city.

3.) 30 Jul 2021 12:33:06
Ntcham doesn't want to be at Celtic and his performances like Eddy's prove this we should get rid ASAP, the loan to OM didn't work and he probably realises we are his level. But the French have all goto go even julien as he has been out for ages and I am sure I read somewhere he wanted to leave too.

4.) 30 Jul 2021 13:11:59
Once these better sides get their business done and squads start to take shape I'm expecting a couple of loans to come in.

5.) 30 Jul 2021 13:23:25
Some of the lads at these top academies are head and shoulders above what we have, and we could get them in quickly. Loans can generally be terminated at any time, and we have good links with City we should be using them.

Ntcham simply hasn't developed any further and his attitude is displayed on the pitch.

1 out of 10 games you get a real performance and see the brilliance that made us sign him, but he's been around too long, couple seasons and punt for profit before they nose dive like he has .

2 experienced signings we have needed, I'd of took cahill as well he is experienced enough to teach the young CBs moving forward.

Don't know anything about the Croatian lad is he any good?

Striker is urgently required.

If Eddy played the way we know he can he wouldn't be in the position he finds himself in with very few transfer options.

Maybe it's the C.V. that's pulled the purse strings on many clubs not making a move for him but surely if he pulled his finger out of his stroppy sphincter and started performing he would get the move he desires!

Brighton isn't the dizzy heights I expected him to potentially end up at and he is surely either going to get a grip, sign a contract extension with a buy out clause and play to prove to the bigger clubs he's worth buying, or push for a move to a mediocre team simply because he has no desire to be here anymore and let us utilise his transfer fee to strengthen the team!

Yesterday's game was exactly what would be expected after an international break, controlled the game but some passes wayward, and some players like turnbull over attempting a killer ball then not closing down quick enough when he lost possession. However against Ross County you expect a win and we got it. The danger moments against us were created by us, they will be more disciplined moving forward. Took my son for his first game and he was delighted to celebrate 3 goals and witness the atmosphere for the first time, and he had zero complaints about the game so I'll take his youthful perspective on the match and be very satisfied the win and clean sheet was achieved.
Jota could be a real crowd pleaser this season some nice flicks and tricks and on another day abada gets a hatrick, unlucky with hitting the bar.

Hopefully ajeti gains plenty confidence from his two goals HH.

Good spot Buzz Bomb 10 i didn't even notice during the game on Sunday!

I think this stat (zero scottish outfield players in their squad) is embarrassing to scottish football and the rules set within the current game.

I remember when we used to field virtually a starting 11 of foreign (non scottish) players and I didn't like it one bit. I thought rules had changed since then and you had to have a certain % of scottish players in your match day squad.

On Sunday we had 5 outfield starting scottish players and 1 who came off the bench. For the benefit of the Scotland national team surely the SPFL need to address this or what chances do the national team have.

I remember shakhtar Donetsk always playing with virtually a Brazilian team but even they had to have 3 Ukranian players in their starting 11!

This is no excuse to us not winning on Sunday and again as I have said we used to field foreign (non scottish) outfield teams in the early 2000's.

Why Ralston was not selected based on his contribution so far this season is beyond me, playing Robertson at RWB is criminal and a cop out, Tierney can play left of a back 3 and Robertson LWB to accommodate the 2 best players in the team, it makes more sense!

Greentree I totally accept height isn't everything, Puyol was only 5,10 but what a CB he was, however I just think we need a tall presence in games like the old firm where their team tower us on set plays.

Carter Vickers I'm glad is only in on loan so we can assess before we buy instead of panic buying and potentially wasting the cash. Didn't realise he's only 6ft, even Starfelt is slightly taller and doesn't look much of a presence on the pitch!
