Lille are apparently in for simo for 5 million. Out of curiosity who would sell for that?

Cory67

1.) 19 Jul 2019 09:55:45
Depends if we have anyone else lined up. We need 4 cbs.

2.) 19 Jul 2019 10:34:58
I like Simo but is a bit reckless and has had his injuries think 5 mill is fair. Still think we should keep him seems to play better under Lenny.

3.) 19 Jul 2019 12:19:34
With his injury history I would sell him but we would need to bring another quality CB in.

4.) 19 Jul 2019 13:42:59
Strange one that, would be surprised if he goes. But if he does then at least he will always be remembered for that tackle 😂.

13 Jul 2019 19:24:13
Heard a rumour about Danny Simpson signing.

Cory67

1.) 13 Jul 2019 19:48:24
Think he was at the game the day, he is 32 now but bags of experience, not ideal but could maybe do a job. Plus wouldn't cost anything.

2.) 13 Jul 2019 19:57:02
Good player but older than Lustig. I guess we’ll see.

3.) 13 Jul 2019 20:34:11
I haven't seen what he was like Last year. Remember him a few years ago and was good. I would say if we get him we should be aiming to get someone else with potential as well.

4.) 13 Jul 2019 21:18:37
We need a right back that can defend, I didn't know much about Simpson, so I looked on Wikipedia, it says he is a defensive right back that doesn't venture forward much, but is good defensively, that was Lustiqs failing as he got older, he looked ok going forward but was worse and worse at the defensive stuff, much like Tavernier at the other lot, I want a right back that can defend, I don't care what else he can do.

5.) 13 Jul 2019 21:49:43
Aindoh I think tat was the fault of Rodgers asking lustig to bomb forward when he no longer had the pace to get back.
After Lennon came back in and told Lustig he didn’t need to get forward so much I think there was a major improvement in his defending again.

6.) 13 Jul 2019 22:38:00
Don't agree Kev, Lustiq just couldn't handle the defensive chores any more, is easier to run forward and put the opposition under pressure, but he couldn't react fast enough defensively when a pacy forward was having a go, when you get older is hard to admit to yourself, you are getting older, and then you have all this blind loyalty to the club, (talking about the Lustiq supporters) , who just won't admit, that he isn't good enough anymore, probably the same people who are criticizing Lawell, for not spending X millions to bring in over paid, under performing, but big name Mercanaries.

7.) 14 Jul 2019 00:14:49
Has he still got the legs for it? never seen him play that I can think of.

8.) 14 Jul 2019 00:38:57
Wikipedia says he can defend - get s grip

He’s been freed and no one wants him.

9.) 14 Jul 2019 05:26:15
I agree with Kev, there was a huge improvement in lustig defending when Lennon took over from Rodgers and while I’ve been screaming out for new quality RB to be brought in, I do feel lustig could maybe have been a more than capable understudy to a new RB. However lustig gone now as have gamboa and toljan ( which in my opinion had to happen) both weren’t good enough, however what it has done is left us with nothing at RB. yes ralston is there but does Lennon really rate him? Can he stay fit long enough to challenge for a place? It’s ok letting 3 RBs go but it’s a position we’ve looked to strengthen for a few years now and badly struggled to do so. Surely there’s a quality RB out there somewhere more than happy to come to a club the size of ours? I don’t know who I’d go for that’s our scouting networks job to identify targets but for me I’d forget the over inflated prices of players from down south and be looking around the Austrian, Belgian, Dutch leagues etc for more value for money.

10.) 14 Jul 2019 12:54:59
girlfriend.

03 Jul 2019 22:29:49
Mbombo is official. 4 year deal.

Cory67

1.) 04 Jul 2019 08:29:03
Well just need right back sorted, maybe a striker and a number 10 as can see rogic or nchtam moving.

2.) 04 Jul 2019 11:14:09
I heard arsenal have just offered £8.99 for him.

3.) 04 Jul 2019 12:57:45
Why would arsenal want Tavernier I suppose 8.99.

01 Jul 2019 20:26:28
Hearing a rumour that Celtic have opened talks with kt for an improved deal to try tempt him to stay. If it's TRUE money isn't his motivation, but maybe vice captain and guarantee of the squad being strengthened might convince him to give us another season. We can all hope. I'm looking for any positive atm.

Cory67

1.) 01 Jul 2019 21:16:31
I would give KT the captain's armband if it insured he stayed for 9IAR at least!

2.) 01 Jul 2019 21:30:15
No chance,
Brown is our captain and deserves to finish the job he started and win 10.

I would love KT to stay and vice captain I'm happy with.
The boys says he loves celtic and if celtic are wanting to keep him and not let him go then it is purely down to him.

The boy is a good player but nowhere near legendary stature with the club.
If he wants to be a legend and not just remembered as a very good player then he needs to put the time in.

If he leaves and we get good money then I will wish him well.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 22:21:33
Browns best days are behind him, he slows down the whole fluidity of the team, .
I have completely misunderstood the KT situation, I thought he was on a long contract, but no, he has to be tempted to stay,

4.) 01 Jul 2019 23:28:28
Even if he knocked this back to leave and go to the gunners I wouldn't call it a him being motivated by money.
This bhoy had the ability to reach the very top of world football.
If he could do that at Celtic then he'd never leave but he can't so he will and I think fans are just going to have to accept that fact and be happy one of our own is reaching those hights.

5.) 01 Jul 2019 23:47:52
Rumour us close to signing the left back Boli Mbombo from Vienna

KT most likely leaving then.

6.) 01 Jul 2019 23:51:37
When Brown is available he's the captain. Good shout for Tierney for vice now Lustig has left may perhaps sway KT to stay a little longer? But think the next 2 in line after KT are Ajer and McGregor who would both make great captains.

7.) 02 Jul 2019 06:51:37
Never heard so much pish in my life. Yous really think making him vice captain is going to make him want to to stay? He could be probably more than doubling his wages and playing against better teams and players each week. Don’t get me wrong I hope he stays but people really need to get their heads out the clouds. People want to test themselves at a higher level it’s just natural. If he goes fair play to him if he stays even better.

8.) 02 Jul 2019 07:59:07
Top of world football doesn't equate to Arsenal though. He won't achieve those heights with Celtic but Arsenal.

9.) 02 Jul 2019 09:44:43
Why is it when Dembele forced his move people called him a rat, a mercenary and also Rodgers when now it KT and people are saying he wants to test himself against the best.

I doubt KT grew up dreaming about playing his career at Arsenal. He said he always wanted to be at celtic.

I've said it and I will again, I will wish KT all the best when he leaves but KT will be no different than Rodgers or doumbele when he does.

And I agree with weewhitey the captaincy or vice captaincy will not keep him but the chance of Legendary status possibly could.
KT will be remembered the same as VVD, wanyama or Dembele, he will be remembered as a very good player of this time but he is not a true celtic Legend.

10.) 02 Jul 2019 09:45:48
Bribhoy arsenal will be another stepping stone for him just like Southampton were for VVD and wanyama.

11.) 02 Jul 2019 10:03:11
Selboy what are you on about? Saying that KT is no better than BR is nuts. As far as we know KT is not trying to force a move, if anyone has info otherwise then please pipe up. The career of a footballer is a short one and what you can do once you retire usually depends on the level you reached during your playing career. I would love KT to stay for 10 but he's also got to think about his career. The Premier league is the biggest footballing platform in the world, whether we like to admit it or not. Celtic will always be in KT's heart, no matter whether the Jersey he wears is green, red or blue. He is a true celtic man and we've been lucky to have him at our club.

12.) 02 Jul 2019 10:09:20
Selboy not one person grudges either Rodgers or Dembele their moves. It was HOW the forced there move, they both dropped us right in the tom kite.
Tierney is going about it the right way. He's let the club know he's ready to move and left it in their hands while he gets on with his job.

13.) 02 Jul 2019 10:21:46
If tierney moves its his decision plain in simple! If any of the guys on here played for Celtic on 25k a week going into a season when we could get 9iar who would leave? No money could make me leave before I done 9 and then 10! By which time tierney will be 24 years old with still 10 years left in the game! If he goes, and I hope he doesn’t. but if he does it will be his decision and for me brings into question the diehard Celtic man he professes to be! And save me this bigger league, more money, better players pish eh! None of that would matter a jot to me when the chance to go down in history with your ‘team’ beckons! If he had faith in his ability he would know that the EPL will still be there in 2 years!

14.) 02 Jul 2019 10:27:04
I personally don’t see KT being a major loss based on last seasons performances and important games missed through injury.

At 22 he never really reached the heights I thought he would when he first broke through.
He can be a very good player but I don’t see him as the world class player some fans do.

15.) 02 Jul 2019 11:31:09
KT will definitely go with my blessing if he leaves for sure, the lad has given his all for the Jersey every time he pulled it on. It's not as if he will be leaving us in the lurch half way through the season or last couple of days of the window.
I would definitely wish him all the best and from a Scottish point of view, another of our players playing at a high level can only be good 🍀💚 HH.

16.) 02 Jul 2019 13:02:38
Robdoc I'm not saying KT is trying to force a move what I'm saying if he decides to move for the good of his career then it is no difference than what Rodgers did. you kind of killed your own argument by saying there is no difference between them.
You say a football career is short and he has to do what he believes is best for himself, I have no arguments with that and I agree with you. But celtic fans still to this day say Rodgers is a rat for jumping ship and some of the same people say KT would not be as he's only looking after his short career.
Then I ask was Brendan not looki g after his career. He won everything that scotland has to offer, his stock was the highest it was ever going to get whilst managing I. Scotland. He went for a bigger challenge and people called him a rat for it.

And people can say it's how they left.
Big opportunities don't always come along too often so when they do they have to take them.

I've said all along I hope KT wants to stay but with everything that's been going on, not once has he said he has no interest in moving so my belief is his head is turned. But I'm not saying he will go.
It doesn't matter how he will leave or if its tomorrow or deadline day the fact will be he left to better his career and bank balance that's exactly what Rodgers did.

17.) 02 Jul 2019 13:41:53
I hope KT stays as I hope we don't lose any of our bigger players. Having said that though no one is bigger than Celtic. I remember when KT came into the team thinking who the hel is thiss kid keeping Izzy out of the team. I was a big fan of Izzy and couldn't understand how they could play a kid in front of him and yet KT showed exactly why he was first choice. Izzy was not irreplaceable as I thought and neither will KT be irreplaceable when he goes. Non of our legends have been irreplaceable. If a player wants to leave in my opinion he shouldn't have to force through a move, we should thank them for their servicea and proceed to get the best deal possible. Honestly the only recent exit that jars with me is BRexit He refused to sell Boyata costing us millions and he thought he could do the same with Dembele. If he had sold both early in the window he could have gotten replacements and then here is the manner in which he left which leaves a sour taste.

18.) 02 Jul 2019 23:22:06
I think everyone that thinks that any player, be it KT or anyone else is a fan of Celtic when they play for us needs there heads testing, last time i checked they are not the ones that do a days graft, travel sometimes hours on end on buses coaches or trains paying through the nose year in year out to see the team play. They get paid a hefty wage to train, play 50 games a season and sit on their hole for the rest of it. They are in it for the money as they are a long time retired, he is a young lad that's good at the game and wants to make a lot of money and make as much a name for himself as Andy Robertson has, winning 10 on the spin at Celtic won't do that for him outside of Scotland. Besides, the club has told Leicester not to bother even bidding for Calmac but are open to the right price for KT which i take as meaning that one of those players is open to leaving. And Calmac comes from a Family of Bluenoses!

With potential leaks coming from the club. Does anyone think the club could be starting rumours with certain people to try and catch out who it is?

Cory67

1.) 10 Jul 2019 21:36:21
They probably are mate.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 23:58:13
That's what I think as well mate. They will slip up at some point.

3.) 11 Jul 2019 00:00:46
similar but not football.
I worked with a company who used to advertise for the various job positions (offshore drilling rigs) in the papers under a box number with no company named.
They did this:
1. To see who might be unhappy and want a change.
2. To judge what size of pay rise they should consider.
3. To see if any of their supervisors applied.
Not uncommon for companies etc. to use the system for information,

09 Jul 2019 20:43:02
I thought Morgan looked pretty good of what I seen of him.

Cory67

1.) 09 Jul 2019 20:47:47
I hope he proves me wrong but I just don't see him ever being good enough.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 20:53:01
We shall see, is shved injured thought he might have been at least on the bench.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 21:18:06
Truth be told neither should be near the starting line up if Forrest is fit.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 12:50:56
I’m not saying Morgan is going to be a real star, but for the length of time he was on he did more than Forrest, three perfect crosses into the box and no takers, i don't recall Forrest getting decent crosses in, give the boy some time to settle in before having a go.

31 May 2019 11:21:28
I have a new take on the manager situation. I think everyone agrees the most important thing in the next 2 years is securing 10iar. If we where to say hire a big name manager, it would have to be someone most likely sacked recently and out of work looking to rebuild their reputation like Rodgers did. That would risk a manger potentially leaving during the 10 season similar to Rodgers done this season putting 10 at risk. Maybe the board simply seen Lennon as the safest and most stable pair of hands to get 10. Or maybe some fans are right and it's just the cheap option. either way worth thinking about.

Cory67

1.) 31 May 2019 12:53:16
The one thing that pleases me is knowing that no one wants to get 10 in a row more than Lennon.

28 May 2019 07:30:16
With the amount of injuries we have been getting do you think we should be resting more players in cup games? It will make a 4th treble much less likely but 9/ 10iar must take priority. What is everyone's thoughts and what do you think Lennon will do?

Cory67

1.) 28 May 2019 09:57:08
Win everything! Give them nothing.

2.) 28 May 2019 10:34:43
Need to give players more city breaks to places like Dublin to recuperate.

3.) 28 May 2019 11:06:21
Let’s get 55 before they muppets.

4.) 28 May 2019 11:30:05
I just feel we need to look after the players a bit more. I still of course want to go out and win the cups but certain players are playing 50-60 games a season. And this season has just been ridiculous with injuries.

5.) 28 May 2019 11:30:56
GEDceltic everyone goes on about 10 I want 55 before they get 1 or I will be disappointed.

6.) 28 May 2019 18:41:14
You know they're really going for number 1 55 is make believe a fairytale orc children get told at night lol.

7.) 29 May 2019 00:01:32
We need to play more players, players need to get the odd game off .
I can't understand how in most domestic games we can't play about 9 first teasers and one or two youngsters . This would help to give first testers a rest and introduce youngsters to first team football .
BR tended to make too many changes without giving youngsters q chance.

25 May 2019 18:38:44
Lennon wasn't my number one choice but realistically not going to get much better. he's been there done it and has the record in Europe Brendan could only dream of. Let's get behind him and let's see more history made. Treble treble, 8 in a row now on to 9. Have a good night lads and lasses and stay safe hh.

Cory67

1.) 25 May 2019 18:51:34
Not going to get much better than a Hibs and Bolton reject? Sort yourself out lad.

2.) 25 May 2019 19:26:57
No one was succeeding at Bolton . And he done well at hibs till they sold all their players. We where never getting most of the people named. He done a good job before why won't he now? Like I said not my first choice either but he got us past groups in champions league. Wont titles. How man have done that for us? Let's see him put his own stap on this squad and see how we do.

I'd say in terms of percentages. The players we have got from England have been very good. Struggling to think of a failure from England in the last 10 years. I'm sure there is 1 or 2 but when we go abroad there is much more risk of it not working out.

This might seem a stupid question and may have been asked before, but is meant by the list A and list B for player registrations? Is it to do with home grown player?

Cory67

{Ed007's Note -

List A:

A maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There are a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players'. If a club have fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

There are two categories for 'locally trained player'?

1. Club-trained players – players who were on a club's books for three years between the ages of 15 and 21;

2. Association-trained players – players who were on another club's books in the same association for three years between the ages of 15 and 21. No club can have more than four association-trained players among their eight nominees on List A.

List B:

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 1995 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be registered if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years). Clubs are entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season, but the list must be submitted by no later than 24:00CET the day before a match.}

If ntcham kept it behind closed doors then fans I'm sure would wish him the best, but he like boyata and dembele have burnt bridges to get their own way and don't care how they leave the club as long as they leave. Kt may want to leave but he understands the club want the value met and won't through a hissy fit because clubs won't meet it.
