Just heard on the radio that Jeremy Frimpong to Liverpool is a done deal.
40M Euro release clause, with Celtic getting 30% of the profit from the previous sale amount from his move to Leverkusan.
Early ? for BR's summer transfer kitty.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
1.) 13 May 2025 14:03:18
Hopefully a CB.
2.) 13 May 2025 19:53:55
£5.5 mil apparently. Not to be sniffed at and a good boost to the kitty.
3.) 13 May 2025 21:41:37
If we sold him for £11M, and if his release clause is 40M euros and we get 30% of the profit on that, then it would make our cut approx £8M quid.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
4.) 14 May 2025 06:18:32
Got told off a good source. His release clause of 35 million euro.
Rangers have to get half it as part of the Tillman deal.
25 Mar 2025 16:59:53
Elvis Rexhbecaj, Engels former teammate in Germany, is the latest defensive midfielder to be 'linked' with us.

3.) 26 Mar 2025 19:12:23
My head gets light with the number of players linked to us . It isn’t one bit wonder that we find it difficult to sign players because we are so spoilt for choice that when the window opens, it takes almost the whole window to narrow the lists down to a workable amount.
I am sure all these players that are linked to Celtic are genuine players that our recruitment team have unearthed and made contract with .
Sure the SMSM would do due diligence before publishing to make sure all the players are really linked with Celtic and not just rejects of Sevco, who have a transfer war-chest never previously seen in Scotland.
03 Feb 2025 10:56:29
Is there any chance we'll get Lennon Miller from Motherwell in after our initial bid was rejected? ?

1.) 03 Feb 2025 12:41:52
Yes?.
2.) 03 Feb 2025 15:48:59

01 Feb 2025 20:29:58
Jason Denayer, free agent and at 29yrs of age in his prime.
☘️ ? ☘️.
1.) 01 Feb 2025 20:59:20
No chance.
2.) 01 Feb 2025 21:23:42
I saw that but would he take a pay cut to come back.
3.) 01 Feb 2025 21:46:12
So am I.
4.) 02 Feb 2025 07:52:05
No chance he comes back, especially with what he said when he left the last time.
28 Jan 2025 15:36:58
Apparently we've made an opening bid for the 21yr old Norwegian winger Sondre Orjasaeter.
☘️ ? ☘️.
1.) 28 Jan 2025 16:42:02
Looks like Maeda will replace Kyogo up front if we're after another winger.
{Ed007's Note - Or it's Maeda's replacement for the summer. Are we just dropping Idah altogether now? Nobody seems to mention him for even getting game time now that Kyogo's left, do you think Maeda will be our first choice striker then?}
2.) 28 Jan 2025 17:12:35
If the 7 million fee is true then id guess we are getting in maedas replacement now to give him a few months to settle before being ready to go properly next season. Possibly the forward planning everyone had been crying out for.
{Ed007's Note - That's my thinking, there is now way that Jota hasn't been brought in to become first choice LW and I can't see Maeda being happy to be seen as back-up and a limited game time.}
3.) 28 Jan 2025 17:17:50
I was thinking that the boy could be a replacement for Khun in the summer.
{Ed007's Note - Orjasaeter is a LW/LM, Jon.}
4.) 28 Jan 2025 18:35:35
Sorry Ed, didn't know that.
{Ed007's Note - ??
5.) 28 Jan 2025 18:28:14
No Ed, I just meant he will be Kyogo's replacement as a striker for now until the summer at least due to inflated prices in Jan. We've seen little of Maeda up front apart from one game this season to suggest he will be our first choice. He's versatile so can cover if we have injury issues on the wing like last month. I'm not Idah bashing there are definitely games I prefer Idah starting due to his height and physicality. I don't think either Maeda or even more so Hatate will be with us much longer.
{Ed007's Note - But Kyogo was our first choice strike, to replace him with Maeda would make Maeda our first choice striker... There is no way tha Rodgers is going to move Maeda into the middle and play him in front of Idah. I honestly don't get where some Celtic fans see this team going forward

I see three particular wingers names constantly being linked with us and we're apparently talking to the representatives of one of those players with the view to getting him signed.
We may well need to sign two first team ready wingers in this transfer window, if a big enough bid comes in for Kuhn.
Maeda is clearly first choice, we've got Jota to come back (possibly September) , Forrest, for me, is done and Yang needs to go out on loan or get punted.

1.) 13 Jun 2025 21:33:03
I thought Yang had a cracking season for us. Developed, came in when he was needed, chipped in with 6 goals and 6 assists. What more can you ask for from your second choice winger who only really seen the last 30 minutes of a game?
2.) 13 Jun 2025 21:36:27
A few storys suggesting the Swedish player has chosen us over Anderlecht. If so that would be a good start to the window (excluding KT etc) , he looks a cultured player.
Get him, Balwisha, one of the other wingers mentioned, the big Turkish defensive midfielder and the young camentre half we are linked with and a decent window.
If we don't get a new striker and Maeda stays, I'd be happy with him through the middle.
3.) 14 Jun 2025 00:45:57
To me Yang has greatly improved this season, and while maybe not a great starter he did very well for us during last 30 mins .
Forrest is far from done . Not only has his football braking improved but there is still a good 45 mins in his legs yet . I hope the club have secured his signing for at least one more season.
4.) 14 Jun 2025 06:28:20
Yang will never be a Celtic regular. No where near consistent enough. Weak and easily marked out a game. Still having nightmares after his cup final performance.
5.) 14 Jun 2025 13:01:23
You saw how poor a player Yang was in the cup final, Jota will be a massive player for us when we get him back and up to speed, and hopefully the human dynamo Maeda will still be here too.
6.) 14 Jun 2025 13:38:11
Different supporter, different nightmare, I am still having nightmares, and find myself on floor diving for the ball that Casper scored own goal.
7.) 14 Jun 2025 22:28:30
Des, I'm sureike every Celtic supporter, Kasper will never forget that blunder.
Having said that, there was no one on that park, let alone coming off the bench for us, that could get the goal required that would have secured the treble.
Hence my views on Yang and Forrest respectfully.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
8.) 14 Jun 2025 23:41:53
Yang has no confidence and lacks pace, ambition and desire. Not sure without scouts seen in him. Won’t become even a bit part player for us.
Our player recruitment “model” is not fit for purpose. We have won the league the past 13 out of 14… years n a poor league but not built on it… even with CL money.
We need a restructure at the business end of our club. Our top signings last year at £26 m was very poor. Do any of the three get a good rate if over the year. No. Why? In the big games they never delivered!
02 Jun 2025 08:49:20
Just read that Everton are apparently interested in speaking to Brighton about the possibility of signing Matt O'Reily.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
1.) 02 Jun 2025 12:06:14
Speaking about signing MO’R would be enough . I don’t think Matt would benefit with a move to Everton who haven’t really got a reputation for playing silky stylish midfielders .
I was against his move to Brighton last summer, I argued it was too soon, another season with us would have really bought him on, he chose Brighton and I think he would be better putting his head down. train and work hard and improve his ratings at Brighton before moving again.
2.) 02 Jun 2025 12:20:49
Two things des .1.do Brighton think he's good enough 2.will Everton to paraphrase don Corleone make them an offer they can't refuse.

Guard of honour at IBROKES then? ?
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
1.) 15 Apr 2025 16:39:59
Has that ever happened Perdo?
2.) 15 Apr 2025 16:53:25
They refused to give Celtic a guard of honour at Ibrox 2 years ago after we clinched the title at Tynecastle the previous week.
They instead showed us zero respect and went out and hammered us 3-0.
This time the Celtic players will need to make sure we turn up and play like Champions.
3.) 15 Apr 2025 18:08:33
Imagine they gave one and our players walked around it?
4.) 15 Apr 2025 18:41:34
Celtic also refused to give Sevco a guard of honour in the behind closed doors match in 2021,after they clinched the title in their previous match.
Ex Manager at that time Brendan Rodgers mentioned that Celtic should give them a guard of honour but John Kennedy and the Celtic players refused.
5.) 15 Apr 2025 19:03:59
I should have added that Sevco first refused Celtic a guard of honour in 2019 after we won the title at Pittodrie the previous week.
John Kennedy was probably right to refuse a guard of honour in 2021.
6.) 16 Apr 2025 09:37:46
Two wrongs don't make it right.
7.) 16 Apr 2025 18:32:20
You can’t give a guard of honour to cheats .
Giving them a guard of honour would be condoning their cheating, and admitting that cheating was ok.

I see a few 'stories' suggesting BR could well be looking to move back to the Engerlish Pub League should the right offer become available.
I'm more than happy for BR to stay and continue building this team but should he leave, sooner or later, who would be your top 3 managers to replace him?
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
1.) 01 Apr 2025 22:30:37
I think if rodgers isn't given assurances about transfers in the summer then he will leave. And rightly so as the board have failed him in his 1st window and the previous one.
There was talk recently of rodgers having a meeting with DD about this. Not sure how much truth in it.
But next manager for me would be keiran mckenna.

3.) 01 Apr 2025 22:39:34
I’m not worried about Brendan leaving because he mentioned he was staying for 3 seasons and I’m confident he will see out his current contract.
The article I read was a coach that “thinks” Brendan isn’t happy and he would basically take the first EPL offer.
I reckon he will continue in his job next season but then leave after 5 in a row.
I would love to see him signing a contract extension though.
4.) 02 Apr 2025 05:22:07
There is no proof that Brendan Rodgers is surprised and disappointed with Celtic Board not signing the players the players he wants in.
Giving assurances about transfers is the easy part, but as Celtic Board showed with their determination to and eventual signing of Idah as B R had obviously been very keen to get on board. Cheaper replacements are not acceptable to B R as he is given the last say .
5.) 02 Apr 2025 09:44:07
If BR goes you have to ask why?
Is it that he can find more motivation managing a higher level of player?
Could it because the Board doesn't have the same vision or ambition?
Could it be that the Board sees Celtic within the SPL as a big fish in a small pond and won't release money for a higher level of player?
Could it be that the Board sees Sevco as a major threat and that they don't want to spend any more than they want to as, if they fail, Celtic will be the new owner of the bragging rights?
I wasn't a fan of Rodgers after he jumped ship first time around but credit where credit's due, he's done not a bad job this time around. I was disappointed when Ange left when he could have gone on to develop us fully - I saw him as a long-term appointment.
Could it be that he sees a good crop of youngsters coming through and he may lose a number of them as he watches the backdoor of the first team and the pressure put on them with a resurgent Sevco?
Could it be that he reckons that Kuhn, Maeda, CCV, Hatate, Johnston all could test the next level elsewhere and would find it extremely difficult to replace at short notice and be bedded in for Europe next season?
Could it be that he sees Sevco going for the league title next season with sh! t loads of money thrown at the time to prevent Celtic reaching 56 titles and for them to retain the bragging rights? With that, could he then be seen as being a failure and that doesn't sit well with his ego?
Could it be that I've wasted my time with all of the above and he stays?
6.) 02 Apr 2025 11:50:22
Im confident he will sign a contract extension when the Trebles wrapped up.
7.) 02 Apr 2025 12:36:51
Usually when a manager leaves a club or has his contract terminated, it is likely that Board and Manager don’t have similar capabilities or ambitions. That shouldn’t happen with BR, if it did it would show very poor ability by either BR or the Board . They have been a long this road only 5/ 6 years ago, for BR to suggest now that Board didn’t match his ambitions, he would be clearly admitting that he was a poor judge of people, similarly for Board to now think they shouldn’t back BR would reflect equally bad on Board . Both BR and Board if they had their doubts, they should. raised them before BR had signed to be our manager and not now when it is likely to affect team performance.
I think it is worth remembering that what Manager really must have in terms of signings, is usually different from who/ what supporters want .
The positive thing about our recent windows are we seemed to unearth quality players, maybe very late in window, I suppose most managers would feel totally frustrated by signing any Tom, Dick or Harry for a position in the middle of window and as we come towards end of window a top player within our price range becomes available and Board won’t sign as they already spent money on that position .
BR is very brave regarding players coming in, he has declared that he has final say, that’s really taking on a great amount of responsibility, the buck no longer stops at Board it stops with Brendan.
8.) 02 Apr 2025 16:19:13
They won't have sh*t loads of money to throw at anything that's not how it works. As I believe you was allowed to spend around 85% of income on players, wages and agent fees that now goes down to 70% as of next season. Using their last accounts as a rough guide their wage bill wasnt far off that 70% so they'll need to make cuts, get more lucrative sponsorships and sell their dross for decent money to be able to throw any decent money at players.
9.) 02 Apr 2025 18:49:23
The board provided him with the best player on the field in the derby defeat and broke our transfer record when thye poured £11m down the drain for Engles. Fed up of hearing BR demanding assurances from the board. The board have more than backed him!
10.) 04 Apr 2025 12:50:42
In fairness to BR our fans moan and groan more than BR over lack of funds . Some expect 5/ 6 new players in every window.
11.) 05 Apr 2025 09:04:18
BR will stay and extend imo. Loads of cash to spend "them" eh no, EVEN IF they actually get taken over. IF. Eh No.

HT, not pennies by any means. My point being, Taylor is already earning a very good salary in Glasgow, he's winning trophies and has a support network for his young family in Scotland, which he won't have in Greece.
Would I leave Celtic to play in Greece for an extra £150K per year?
No, not a chance. Why, because Iove Celtic and money isn't my God.

15 Jun 2025 15:37:00
I'd love to see a brand new development;- stadium, hotel, museum etc all.
That would take vision, investment and likely naming rights etc All of which is unlikely to occur with our current board.
Whether that will take place in my lifetime or not, time will tell.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
15 Jun 2025 15:34:39
I'd like to think that BR has already earmarked CCV's replacement as it's likely there will be interest in him in this window.
Trusty is ironically named, he's not a starter.
Scales has grabbed his opportunity and amassed a glut of appearances more because he's the 'safest' of a bad bunch, not because he's the next Maldini. So for me he's ideal to have as cover off the bench.
Should a bid be accepted for CCV we'll require two starting CB's (IMO) if we're to improve.
