Hi Ed, how are you doing?
Is there anything in the latest story linking Derby County LB, Lee Buchanan, with a move to Celtic?

{Ed007's Note - Celtic have been keeping tabs on Lee Buchanan for quite a while now, Pedro, even before he broke into the Derby first team, and if he is allowed to leave Derby - who have an option to extend his contract for a year - then there will be a lot of competition from Championship and lower EPL teams.
With Derby under a transfer embargo I'd be amazed if they would even consider selling him in the January window unless the player himself pushed for a move.}

1.) 24 Oct 2021 18:44:50
Many thanks Ed, really appreciate the update.

{Ed007's Note - ?

31 Aug 2021 16:57:03
SLY reporting we asked Spurs about a loan deal for the USA CB Cameron Carter-Vickers but its unlikely to happen.

{Ed007's Note - Spurs are looking for a permanent deal for him, Pedro. He only has a year left on his deal so they don't want him to go out on loan and then a free, Newcastle and a couple of Championship teams that I know of were sniffing about him as well but if it's sale only it'll probably be Newcastle he ends up at.}

1.) 31 Aug 2021 17:17:40
The boy has been loaned more than a dvd at blockbusters.

2.) 31 Aug 2021 17:31:31
Any word on a CH coming in talk about a boy from West Ham?

{Ed007's Note - Harrison Ashby? I've not heard anything about that apart from the stuff on social media.}

3.) 31 Aug 2021 17:49:51
Is the scottish deadline 11 or 12?

{Ed007's Note - Midnight.}

4.) 31 Aug 2021 17:52:21
Vickers is rotten.

5.) 31 Aug 2021 17:53:56
Ged 😆🤣😂.

29 Aug 2021 11:04:58
Crystal Palace have apparently tabled a £15M bid for Eddy.

1.) 29 Aug 2021 13:48:28
Take it.

2.) 29 Aug 2021 14:02:27
Should of sold him last summer when he said he wanted to leave. Our whole team today was poor. I knew it wouldn't be a walk in park but I expected more than that, no pass marks today.

3.) 29 Aug 2021 14:04:36
thanks for the memories. pity the last one was a sitter.

4.) 29 Aug 2021 14:16:59
Enrico thinks time for the Frenchman to go. Take these money.

5.) 29 Aug 2021 14:16:01
Right now I would take an offer of £9m and stick a 15% sell on clause in the deal.

6.) 29 Aug 2021 14:40:10
That was like watching lennons Celtic again, no belief, no threat . No one getting in the box. One shot on target . Very few of our players turned up again. Starfelt played well . Criminal to lose a free header to a centre back. We don’t seem to learn. 7 games without a win is shocking, and we need to change thy quickly. We are going into games like rangers agains Rodgers teams where they knew they were going to lose.

7.) 29 Aug 2021 15:11:01
No idea what the manager was trying to play today, Turnbull needs to toughen up can`t play when players are in his face last 2 games have proved that, Christie invisible again against them again, Eddy rank rotten .

8.) 29 Aug 2021 15:28:06
Realistically, this won't be 'Ange's Celtic' for a wee bit yet. Today was a mix of familiar flashbacks of recent Sevco games and there were a couple of the same culprits going missing, for some it was a new and daunting experience and hopefully they will learn? There is no need to panic, but there is a case for learning valuable lessons about where a game we could have won comfortably was lost and where and why the game changed? The support could see the warning signs and JK must have had deja vu in the dugout, so Ange needed to act sooner. We are where they were in 2016 - full of fear, apprehension and doubt especially, when the first goal fails to materialize. Learn from it.

9.) 29 Aug 2021 15:38:48
Starfelt played well? Really.

10.) 29 Aug 2021 16:30:17
Yes he did DC.

11.) 29 Aug 2021 16:31:05
Yeah DC, Starfelt was solid today. They were limited to almost no chances from open play.

12.) 29 Aug 2021 17:03:05
Must have been watching a different game from me I thought he was dugmeat.

13.) 29 Aug 2021 17:05:37
We lost. I’ll get over it quickly and I reckon this time a lot of fans will as well. Today was a difficult one to take but absolutely NOTHING like watching the side under Neil Lennon.
There’s little credit in defeat but a bit of perspective please.
It was our new managers first derby, we also had 5 debutants in the fixture and we had no support there to back us. We bossed the game for spells and I’d prefer to recognise the important fact that this was the first game against them in a couple of years where they were genuinely uncomfortable. That is an embarrassing slight on Lennon not Postecoglu. We do have clear shortcomings obviously, Postecoglu is still laying down his way and is also having to sort out the IMMENSE mess he inherited in every corner of the Club but a blind man can see he’s made great progress. Today a couple of players played out of position. Lesson learned. We are rebuilding and there is a bigger picture. Did anyone seriously think we were going to coast it today?

14.) 29 Aug 2021 17:24:44
Well Dc if you thought starfelt was bad god only knows what u think about eddy, Christie, turnbull for starters.

15.) 29 Aug 2021 18:07:34
Ter they were just as bad as abada kyogo and Starfelt.

16.) 29 Aug 2021 19:30:20
Take the positives then guys. We had at least 6 players who were well below their best today yet we only lost 1-0 with us having 66% possession (I know same old)
Perhaps if we had a striker on the park who wanted to play we would have turned some of that position into goals.

17.) 29 Aug 2021 19:41:50
Ter161 eddy christie and turnbull were dugmeat too lol

part of problem was lack of depth on bench. where is greek centre forward going to play if kyogos best position is through the middle.

28 Aug 2021 10:44:36
Apparently the singing of Giogious (ll) is close and we're trying to offload LG to Dundee.

If we get Jota I can't see us signing anyone else unless we know Eddy is away to Everton and we've got another one or two up our sleeve 🤔.

1.) 28 Aug 2021 11:06:55
We need another cb ped imo.

2.) 28 Aug 2021 11:17:11
Our business can't be done until either Scales shows he's the real deal or we buy another CB. Julien or Welsh get injured and its roll out Bitton time again.

3.) 28 Aug 2021 11:20:04
We don’t even seem to be linked with another defender which to most of us, seems to be a position we need to concentrate on. I’d hope if we sell eddy and move Griffiths on we need another forward option. Also if we sell eddy that will pretty much cover the outlay we have spent all summer, we surely should be able to push the boat out on another couple of 5 million pound signings . We have the ajer money plus the guaranteed Europa money. Two quality signings could make a massive difference to the league chances.

4.) 28 Aug 2021 12:21:38
100% Mally, I'd say ideally we need a;-

* CB (left sided)
* LB
* Striker

Hopefully Dom has something up his sleeve.

5.) 28 Aug 2021 12:24:55
Agree with you both Quinn and MP.
If Everton lose Richarldson then they need someone in, hence the Eddy link.

6.) 28 Aug 2021 13:41:20
Lads what's all this we need this position that position. Ange has signed a few great players. Where is all this money coming from. We are not rangers we run a tight ship which iam glad we do
Ange can wait till Xmas for the transfer window to open again to see what we need players are getting better the ones we have been ripping apart for months have upped there game. Likes off rogic Christie Ralston Taylor. So positives there. Imo I want Eduard Griff bitton boli barkas Johnston connell Henderson and ajetti. Off the books.
They need to be put out on loan or sold.
So far we have signed
Kyogo McCarthy abada hart
Starman URHOGHIDE Murray JURANOVIC Scales and nearly Giakoumakis. This is amazing and players that are ready to go except McCarthy.
This will be 10 players.
My only main worry is McCarthy I know we got him free I'm not sure yet finally wether christie stays it's a big wage he want so that another outgoing.

7.) 28 Aug 2021 14:05:16

8.) 28 Aug 2021 14:22:33
Fitnessguru, in my rough estimation we have spent about 19 million . With potentially eddy going for anything over 16 and ajer for 14 million we have more than covered the outlay. It is a big turn around of players but we all knew we needed that after losing probably 7-8 first team players last season. Would you not agree we look like we could do with another centre back? And if eddy and griff go we have kyogo ajeti and the new Greek lad. If kyogo gets clattered and is injured there isn’t many goals in there 🤷‍♂️That would be my take on it anyway.

9.) 28 Aug 2021 14:42:44
Considering the time it took us to appoint - and finally bed-in Ange, he has worked minor-miracles since the Midgy-men and Hearts results. He is obviously working double-time to assemble a decent squad before the 'window' shuts, but rest assured he will need at least two more before he will have built his own team. In the meantime, the new recruits and rejuvenated players are doing great and it's only Aug.

10.) 28 Aug 2021 15:00:42
Andy Luca Connell was ripping it up for Queens Park at the end of last season.

11.) 28 Aug 2021 17:09:47
Agree with everything u r saying lads. Yes we sell Eduard great money and a big wage of the books and plenty for us the bank looks gd. That's important. I just think we are getting carried away a we bit let's see what all these new lads do give them time to bed in. they have been getting on with it. If the Greek boy signs tomorrow I will be happy then come Xmas let's see what we need.

It's a lot of players signed and pos two more, we need everyone of them to be ready to go. A win tomorrow would be nice not the end of the world. The game on Thursday that team came at us we coped well apart from errors I think that was our marker game but I don't want to get carried away. I don't think we will face anything like that in Scotland but we did the job on the home tie and the away goal was just bliss.

12.) 28 Aug 2021 21:14:35
Andy, Ange has made some good signings but our bench is pishpoor.

If we get injuries and/ or suspensions (which is likely) then it's big chocolate Bitton at CB or feck knows what - surely none of us want that?

January (other than Armstrong) is a dead window, we need to get quality in now especially with the style that Ange plays - rotation will be a factor.

No pun intended Andy but strength in depth is required.

Hail Hail.

13.) 28 Aug 2021 21:49:27
I get what your saying that we have spent 19mill but add the wages into that too and it will be closer too 22-25million.

14.) 29 Aug 2021 09:48:12
@pedro71 🏋️😂😂
I'm feeling the same way as @marco18888
Just keeping the accounts gd. Our wage bill it's a lot of money I know we punch well above our weight in finances and the club is run very will some might say we are tight but IV never agreed with that that.
Yes it looks like we have spent well and within budget. We have also got rid or sold our players very well and well played Celtic.
There is another 6 players who can get sold but that leaves us with no cover and a poor subs bench. I think Ange is working on this. I understand we need player to fight for there place I think that is happening now.
So Griff eddy bitton ajeti barkas don't make our bench stronger so I get this.

21 Aug 2021 13:10:46
Thomas Henry close to signing for Genoa apparently.

Disappointed that NL continues to talk publicly about the shambles he presided over last season ?.

1.) 10 Oct 2021 18:39:41
The more he does it pedro the more foolish he looks. He was the man in charge so not sure what he is trying to achieve.

2.) 10 Oct 2021 18:55:29
Ter, he seems to be blaming something or someone new with every passing week but hasn't yet taken any personal responsibility for the implosion ?.

3.) 10 Oct 2021 19:00:44
Saying some players weren't trying doesn't exactly show the manager in a good light.

4.) 10 Oct 2021 19:27:53
It's a shambles Mally.

5.) 10 Oct 2021 19:29:19
I know pedro. Its like he was looking at it from the outside. The guy should have just kept quite or at least been man enough and take some responsibility.

6.) 10 Oct 2021 19:23:54
I am very disappointed in him. I think firstly his comments about his willingness to manage in Israel are a disgrace and his friendship with Du Du has impaired his thinking. He should get a clip on the ear and wake up to the reality of his comments.
I think he should carry those impressions of the players who disgraced and let down our club to himself.
I might be one of the few who feels that NL is a legend at this club throughout his career as player, coach and manager, but he has to learn to carry the failure of the players who didn’t lift a leg and his own shortcomings with a lot more tact than he is displaying right now.

7.) 10 Oct 2021 19:43:14
I started to feel the worse after his rant against Ferencvaros.
He definitely lost the dressing room and it took another 6 months for the Celtic board to act.

8.) 10 Oct 2021 21:11:48
he should have been man enough to walk a lot earlier.

9.) 10 Oct 2021 22:09:05
See if Lennon wanted to spill the beans then he should not have signed the non disclosure but then he would not have got his pay out. So neil shut your mouth and stop making a fool of your self.

10.) 11 Oct 2021 19:08:37
When lennon said players downed tools why did he as manager continue to play them, if he had came out and said this at the time and put a couple of the younger boys in their place I think the fans would have been ok with that but too not stand up and let it continue then lennon it's all your fault good riddance.

24 Sep 2021 14:18:32
Hi Ed, is there any truth in the story circulating that Mikey Johnston has just picked up another injury or is just the usual clickbate?

{Ed007's Note - Ange said last night that Johnston had picked up an injury in training so it's true mate.}

1.) 24 Sep 2021 14:43:12
We'll need to build a 'hospital-wing' rather than a hotel or museum the way this is going; although to be honest MJ is no big loss as his Celtic career has never ever really got started.

2.) 24 Sep 2021 16:56:47
Not sure what goes on with him, doesn't look like he has thex
athlete in him, he's had ample time to work on his upper body to give more strength but still looks like a butchers pencil.

3.) 24 Sep 2021 20:38:25
Said we needed another winger before the window closed. Just means Montgomery will need to cover there more this season which is good for his development getting more minutes.

4.) 24 Sep 2021 21:26:26
Ah, I didn't hear that Ed. I'm not his biggest fan but it's a shame that he's had another setback.

20 Sep 2021 19:27:17
Ed, the latest Robbie Brady rumours don't seem to be disappearing anytime soon.

Have you heard if we're interested in this free agent?

{Ed007's Note - I haven't heard anything mate and I'd be surprised if there was any truth in it. There has been talks with both Middlesbrough and Swansea and reported interest from Turkey & Belgium.
I think someone is using Celtic's name to force other to speed things up.}

1.) 20 Sep 2021 22:21:03
Just wait - It'll be Robbie Keane next.

17 Sep 2021 08:58:49
All things considered, I thought the Bhoys did well last night. ?

Personally, I had written off the possibility of European football this season LAST November, when the arse fell out of what should have been our 10-in-a-row season under NL.

Ange comes in at the 11th Hour, having to play guys who downed tools the previous season and who still wanted out of CP, 12 players signed in the transfer window, a new brand of football later and in a matter of weeks some are moaning we never put Real Betis to bed - seriously?

Our away record in Europe is dross and the last time we beat a Spanish team in a competitive match away from home was 59yrs ago, so where do these unrealistic expectations come from - answers on a postcard.

1.) 17 Sep 2021 09:36:31
Our attacking play is first class even with the players missing, but the defending is school boy and the goals could be avoided that's all some are saying, going 2 up we should have fug in till half time but with soro getting booked in 8 mins ge couldn't tackle and that caused the first goal, the 2nd if ccv steps up quicker the boys offside they are sh@t goals to lose,
It's early doors definitely and i take defeats sore like the rest of us, but there's no point shying away from the obvious flaws in the team that's plain daft imo.

2.) 17 Sep 2021 09:45:52
Our first ever game in Europe was 59 years ago and it was a 4-2 defeat in Valencia and Celtic are still waiting on our first victory in Spain.
I’m excited about our transformation under Ange and the future looks bright.
It was only in July, I had a massive rant about Celtic because I didn’t think the club were capable of competing this season.
I’m delighted that is no longer the case and I’m enjoying the ride.
Ange is working wonders in a short space of time and “Things Can Only Get Better”.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 09:57:07
I would rather we had a go off it rather than go over there try to defend and get gubbed 3 4 or 5nil.

4.) 17 Sep 2021 11:34:23
At least we are competitive in europe again. Quicker than I thought we would be.
We are still missing the spine in Calmac, Julienn and Kyogo. Not to mention 3 or 4 others.
Football is lookin very good so not too much to complain about.
We never get many away results in Europe with full strength teams so give it time you never know.

15 Sep 2021 12:55:42

Sorry Buzz, meant to comment on the LWB position.

Yes, we need to get the right player in here and have Scales as back up.

We've also got a few players who'll leave/ should leave over the next 2 windows;- I'm thinking, Barkas, Ajeti, Bolingoli, Bitton, Soro for starters.

I'd agree Buzzbomb.

Celtic should almost always play with 2 up front, particularly at home.

The obvious exception is European games when we're playing against technically stronger opposition - then the personnel, set up and tactics should be tweaked.
