Reports that the Taylor fee is agreed. I'm quietly hopeful of one more as well after Lennon said he hoped to be busy today.

1.) 02 Sep 2019 18:14:55
I think Taylor and the young RB from Man City will be business done, unless PL pulls a rabbit out the hat but don't see it.

2.) 02 Sep 2019 18:08:47
No way Kevbhoy can’t see it.

3.) 02 Sep 2019 18:32:25
Does the rabbit have sell on value SW?

4.) 02 Sep 2019 18:36:13
Lawell has no need to pull a Rabbit out the hat now - after yesterday when he saw his three main buys contributing brilliantly in the game.
I would have loved big Vic on loan to toughen up the midfield and help Broony; however, if Ntcham is staying? He may not see the need to spend more of the KT cash - on top of all the other business.
Forster, Connell, El Hamed, Jullien, Boli, Afolabi, Elyounnoussi, Bauer and now Taylor is almost an entire team brought in, so I suppose we should not be greedy and we still have Shved as well.

23 Aug 2019 12:10:31
Does anybody have any idea if there is a genuine interest in Gumny? Stephen McGowan mentioned it a while back and he's usually near the mark but there seem to be no substantial developments at all. I'd be quite happy for Elhamed to be our defensive utility man between RB and CB if another RB comes in and tbh I'd prefer Melling over Taylor for LB.

1.) 23 Aug 2019 12:30:23
There is definitely interest. Rumours are that Gumny has a choice between Celtic and Fiorentina. It’s a tough decision, he either goes to a better league in Calcio A, or, he goes to Celtic where his potential could be realised and ends up getting the step up to the premier league. Celtic seem to have been linked for a long time and I think there is genuine interest. Melling seems to be down to champions league. He too has better opportunity at Celtic as opposed to Rosenborg and the appeal may be for Celtic dependant on there home leg Vs Zagreb.

As for other signings. I assume these two are priority and I think we’ve dropped interest in cifuentes for one reason or another n.

2.) 23 Aug 2019 12:33:04
It's a strange time at the minute. I don't think anyone really knows what's going on.

The Forster deal was one that made sense and spread across the internet and all of a sudden was sealed within a day.

I don't know how many times I've read this summer Celtic were keen on someone or had made enquiries and nothing ever came from the club.

Gumny is exactly the level of player that should be being targeted so I hope that the conjecture we see has something to it. After Turnbull - I won't believe a thing from now on though until the disco lights reveal them standing in the centre circle.

3.) 23 Aug 2019 15:50:08
Most of our signings seem to be not reported till the deal is nearly complete.

4.) 23 Aug 2019 16:41:16
Except for boli, Julien and connell.
They were all reported in the papers and online for a while before we signed them.

5.) 23 Aug 2019 16:56:41
And elhamed, as there was plenty of discussion on here as to whether he was good enough and if he was a RB or CB lol.

6.) 23 Aug 2019 17:44:19
Or Forster who was in the paper last week before Lennon denied it😅.

7.) 23 Aug 2019 18:53:39
And the other boy from Southampton lol.

8.) 23 Aug 2019 22:32:01
So just about everybody that we try to sign then, lol.

9.) 24 Aug 2019 07:32:58
But how many were on 'the list'.

11 Aug 2019 21:01:55
Lots of chatter online about a move being completed for Greg Taylor next week for £900k.

1.) 11 Aug 2019 21:20:32
kevbhoy i always love your intelligence. but is this what we have to look forward to?

2.) 11 Aug 2019 21:37:33
Robroy he’s a good player and good back up for elhamad?

3.) 11 Aug 2019 21:40:02
Nope Duff and Phelps he is a LB not a RB.

4.) 11 Aug 2019 21:46:19
Back up for elmahad? He’s a left back.

5.) 11 Aug 2019 21:50:52
Greg Taylor is s left back duff?

6.) 11 Aug 2019 21:54:38
Duff, Taylor is a left back. If we really wanted him he would have been signed long before now. He’s a decent player from the little I have seen. I was hoping for better as our second LB.

7.) 11 Aug 2019 22:13:26
Duff he's the left back. O'Donnell is the RB.

8.) 11 Aug 2019 22:21:12
He would be a good buy.

9.) 11 Aug 2019 22:23:22
He's a left back dap.

10.) 11 Aug 2019 22:32:17
I don't know an awful lot about him tbh. I don't remember really noticing him for good or bad when we've played Killie but he seems to be very highly rated.

11.) 11 Aug 2019 22:45:33
He's a lb so it's back up for boli.

12.) 11 Aug 2019 23:03:03
Taylor is a left back so why would he be a good back up to elhamed.

13.) 11 Aug 2019 23:04:04
He’s a left back so back up to Boli, we will end up spending 1-2 m on both Killie fullbacks that’ll be us finished 😂.

14.) 11 Aug 2019 23:08:50
Taylor has been excellent for Killie for the last few years. If he was called Gregorio Tayloroso and played for a Serie A team and Italy we'd be hailing him as a star. Would KT have been better than him if he'd played for Killie? Why shouldn't we sign him? Playing for a bigger club could very well turn him into a great player so why not us? I'd be all for it. HH.

15.) 11 Aug 2019 23:41:45
He not the one that belted Barton about 6 foot in the air?

16.) 12 Aug 2019 08:16:50
Wires crossed gents do apologise.

17.) 12 Aug 2019 10:30:43
Taylor is a left back so he won’t be back up to Elhamed! Call me cynical but selling KT for 25 million and bringing in Greg Taylor from Kilmarnock won't make our team stronger! If this is lennons ‘contingency plan’ then we’re short changed big time!

17 Jun 2019 18:48:38
I've seen reports that Celtic were offered Joe Aribo and that's as far as it went. I've also seen reports that we were beaten to his signature by Rangers (his name was on the leaked list) . I've now seen a report that we are trying to ambush Rangers' move for him at the last minute. It just shows you that the media can and will say anything no matter whether there's any truth in it or not.

1.) 17 Jun 2019 19:05:24
It's media spin same as turnbull wanting 20k how do they know it bull.

2.) 17 Jun 2019 19:11:30
@Kevbhoy pay no attention to the papers pal
If we were not prepared to pay £20k for Turnbull, our board will NOT pay that or more for Aribo.
It is just the usual sevconian press gagging to write
"Celtic outbid by Sevco for wonderkid"
We have our own targets.

3.) 17 Jun 2019 19:49:02
Is this the same guy who's manager has just quit? Club are looking for a new guy? Player won't be going anywhere till he sees if he is wanted and gets a new deal a think.

4.) 17 Jun 2019 19:52:24
Tim difference is you get Aribo for free like they did with Dembele. He got a higher wage because of that.

5.) 18 Jun 2019 07:54:40
Kev83 "LIKE THEY DID" true colours showing through there kev.

03 Jun 2019 00:17:00
I don't know why everyone is convinced Lennon won't be backed by Lawwell. Last season we spent "£9M" on Eddy and Castagne told the press we bid £8M for him in January but Atalanta blocked the move. Ok, we sh*t the bed with McGinn but that seems like it was more down to arrogance than an unwillingness to spend. We also spent another £4M on Shved and Bayo. He can be extremely frustrating but he won't just refuse to spend any money on players.

1.) 03 Jun 2019 08:27:16
My thoughts are that he seems to faff about putting in stupid offers for too long and missing out on players instead of putting in a decent offer and getting the deal done, other clubs identify players and go and sign them, with Peter Lawwell everything turns into a saga, we need to hit the ground running next season by getting our business done and getting the new players integrated as quickly as possible .

2.) 03 Jun 2019 09:17:27
Yeah i think Lawwell gets too much bad press, i mean look at how stable a club we are financially with him at the helm. He obviously knows what he is doing better than we do and i certainly think he has the clubs best intrest at heart (i do disagree with some of his decisions though) and we all need to get behind the manager now and be as positive as possible. No point giving the press any ammo with being negative about our own club.

3.) 03 Jun 2019 09:18:33
Yeah and sold Armstrong for £7m and Dembele for £20m. Think we got another £6m or something for Van Dijk sell on so took in £33m and spent £13m.
We can’t splash any cash as our wage bill is £54m failure to qualify for Champions league cost us £30m if we don’t get there next season how do we pay wage bill?
Thankfully we had decent run in Europa and got about £10m back with prize money for treble about another £4-5m and the £20m profit on player sales gave us a £5-10m profit.
We won’t be getting £27m in player sales this summer unless we sell 2-3 of our best players. If we qualify for Champions league we will be able to afford a couple of top players.
Ntcham can go for £7m IMO to free up more cash, yes we are stable financially but not cash rich unless we make Champions league group stage it will guarantee the 10 if we do this season.

4.) 03 Jun 2019 09:32:19
Because that was under Rodgers and not Lennon. Lawwell knew Rodgers held the cards, if he didn’t get the funds or players he wanted he would have plenty of other options. Lennon tried that one already and ended up at Bolton then Hibs. He has already said now he’d love to stay at Celtic for 20 years (because no one else will have him) .

So let’s say Lawwell only gave Lennon £3m to spend, what leverage does Lennon have to change that? Zero.

5.) 03 Jun 2019 10:13:06
GGGG if we want the £30m CL we need to give ourselves a chance of making it, no one is advocating bursting the bank but we need to build on successes to keep moving forward our board don’t tend to do that, sometimes you need to speculate to accumulate .

6.) 03 Jun 2019 13:27:02
The wage bill will be significantly down this summer though with all the outs we may be trimming about £8-10m off it depending on who else goes/ sold.

I watched a bit of the build-up to the United v Liverpool game and noticed the way they were all purring over Virgil. I honestly think if Eddy keeps improving the way he is he could receive a similar level of plaudits.

1.) 20 Oct 2019 16:57:44
Absolutely 100% agree.

2.) 20 Oct 2019 17:09:31
Yes Kev but wee can’t command the feea wee should be in today’s market he’s a fourty million is pound player but sadly wee only will receive around 25 to 30 million the more wee keep churning these quality players out though the more people will take heed and bump the fees up he goes to a money league and plays the same and suddenly he’s a eighty million pound 💷 player.

3.) 20 Oct 2019 17:16:51
Agree totally D&P. He'll also get the backhanded praise of how he could "step up" (probably to a Southampton or a West Ham 🙄) but as soon as he shows the same quality in a bigger league he'll be the best thing since sliced bread. We've seen it with Dembele and Tierney too. I saw Arsenal fans saying KT wasn't worth more than £15m when they were bidding that and then he was the best LB in England after a good game against Forest lol.

4.) 20 Oct 2019 19:11:40
If he makes the French full team ans scores we will be able to ask for a much bigger price. It's inevitable he will leave but he's enjoying life with us just now. We know when he goes it's going to be a record breaking fee for a player in Scotland that's for sure.

15 Oct 2019 20:50:09
Eddy running riot for the French U21's yet again. He's going to be absolutely crucial for us again this season.

1.) 15 Oct 2019 21:52:58
French Eddy has now scored 9 goals in only 236 minutes. One goal in every 26 minutes, playing for the U21s.

2.) 15 Oct 2019 22:16:14
Don Robertson was the ref tonight when Eddy scored his hat-trick.
I hope brother Don witnesses another Eddy masterclass on Saturday, when he is also the referee against Ross county.

3.) 16 Oct 2019 02:29:37
Enjoy him whilst he's here. When we eventually get 9in a row I hope Edouard is here for 10.I can see him being in next year's Olympic Games for France. If so he would not be available for the European Qualifies. Barring injury he's going to be a joy to watch him developing into a top top player.

4.) 16 Oct 2019 09:48:45
Contract expires 2022. Will be sold in the summer just a matter of how much. Bank balance CSC.

5.) 16 Oct 2019 09:46:52
Hope you are well ED.
Same to the lads on here

French eddy there is no comparison he shows it in the big stage which is so important he's got something special. He needs to stop getting himself noticed 😭 lols.

{Ed007's Note - I'm doing good thanks mate.}

09 Oct 2019 20:53:05
With Christie getting himself banned for the next 2 games, who do we expect to see in the 10 role? Ntcham or a newly fit Rogic? Ntcham has been impressive this season and he links up really well with Eddy, plus Lennon fancies him. But Tam in full flow is a joy to behold and can pull off things that nobody else can so it's a tough call.

1.) 09 Oct 2019 22:07:55
Big tam is a myth. It's got to be ntcham.

2.) 09 Oct 2019 23:04:55
I’m not impressed with Ntcham disaplin lately, I’m with rogic on this one until he’s injury kicks in again.

3.) 10 Oct 2019 00:27:53
It's got to be Ntcham. Though I would like to see Morgan played there before writing him off completely as another Scott Allan.

4.) 10 Oct 2019 11:02:16
Bubs ad rather have Scott Allan than Morgan.

5.) 10 Oct 2019 13:09:11
No way Kev. He's had stick on this page (me included) because he's injury prone and his stats aren't the best but he's technically fantastic and has scored some cracking goals for us over the years. If you prefer Ntcham fair enough but Rogic is still class.

06 Oct 2019 21:03:29
And breathe. They are stronger this season and have added consistency to their game. Last season after they got a bit of hope (Hibs last week) they would go straight out and blow it. I knew they wouldn't be so easy to shake this time around but also didn't expect us to be so poor today. We know we're the better side and we just need to keep winning and wait for them to drop points - which they will, no question. Patience will be key because it's taken them 8 games to go top so we may well need to do similar.

1.) 06 Oct 2019 22:56:53
Today was our kick up the bum. We will push on now.

2.) 07 Oct 2019 00:36:08
They are the strongest they've been. This current Sevco team would wipe the floor with Warburton or Pedro's teams. Looking at the fixtures they have a harder run up to the end of the year. Hopefully they'll start to drop points. Will count for nothing if we don't sort out our away performances.

3.) 07 Oct 2019 11:59:59
The only worry I have is that Hibs should have been enough of a warning ged.

06 Oct 2019 09:49:23
Hoping for a strong performance today which will put last weekend well and truly behind us. Could maybe see Bayo coming in for Eddy to take away the risk of an injury on that pitch. Other than that, same XI and get a convincing 3 points.

I don't see why the wages would be a stumbling block. The Turnbull fee would cover that with some to spare.

Bob, the only thing I can think of is that Lennon told Lawwell he wasn't in his plans but Lawwell assumed there was still a fee to be had by extending his contract. The fee wasn't forthcoming and now he can't get near the team because Lennon made it clear he didn't want him. I've completely made that scenario up of course but it's the only sort explanation that makes sense go me as I can't see Lennon insisting on an extension for one of our top earners to have him sitting behind Johnston and Morgan.

31 Aug 2019 00:58:40
If the club wanted shot of him they shouldn't have activated his extension. He could have left a free agent at the start of the summer and got an English club to pay him a wedge. Why should he take a pay cut?

You couldn't have been at the game surely half pint. They tried to play keep ball from the 85th minute onward. Other than Bayo going through on the counter I can't remember a meaningful attack.
