I am really not sure about this player. But Ange has not got it wrong so far. The thing that gets me about this player is the position he plays predominantly left side midfield and what I have heard about his attitude doesn't seem to fit but I really do wish him well.

Mikey johnston must know if he wants to play footy and wants it bad he moves out on loan. He's had plenty of time to build himself up he did not he thought it would be enough to have skill. Nope won't work that way.
I think he has 2 years maybe more left on his contract.
Hes only 22 needs to have big dreams he should have moved by now what's the hold up he's not in anges plans.

I was listening to 67 hail hail they had a blogger on that says he is a little immature and he will be thinking he will be playing every week. It doesn't seem to be the attitude that I think Ange looks for in a player but I really hope I am wrong.

Andy,
the lad Jenz is a 23yr old German CB around 6ft2 in height and a former Fulham youth (signed at 13 yrs old) .
He left Switzerland 12 month's ago to sign a 5 year deal with Lorient in France.
He made 18 appearances last season with his new club (17 were starts) but for one reason or another has found it tough going.
I'm hoping he has something to prove.

If am being honest am a bit disappointed in the mooy signing as I don’t think he is going to be anymore than a squad player and the fact that he has been in Glasgow for weeks and has just been signed now when he could have been in weeks ago and more upto speed instead of coming in now and the manager just saying he needs time to get upto speed I really don’t get the timing. Time will tell but I wouldn’t have been signing a 31 year old who hasn’t played in months and is past his prime. Some may agree with me some won’t but it’s all about opinions.

I hear what you're saying and for me the Mooy signing is a free hit.
McCarthy has been woeful, let's be honest, and If he performs I can see Mooy pushing James further down the pecking order or even out the door.
Personally, I'm not privy to the deal that was done to release Mooy from his contract in China but I suspect that could be a factor in why he didn't sign sooner than this week.
We've also lost a great deal of experience in the midfield in Bitton and Rogic which is another reason Mooy makes sense.
Hopefully he works out and I'm sure will get the backing of the supporters.

Mooy played under Ange for Australia and he played in all the Australian playoff games and played every minute of the games just a couple of weeks ago so I don't see where people are saying he needs to get up to speed.

{Ed007's Note - I do, Mick and even though I'm bias I think he will get game time this year. He had no preseason last year, struggled to get up to speed then caught covid but people thinking this was a DD signing are wide of the mark, Celtic gave Ange the option of signing Jimmy Mac and he spoke to him extensively before giving the move the thumbs up, if Ange hadn't OKd it McCarthy wouldn't be at Celtic.
There's been some puff pieces about that have obviously came from inside CP about how hard he is working in pre season etc so I do think we will see more of him. It's just up to him to prove his worth.}

Jenz looks a real good signing. Albeit on YouTube but he looks like a ball winning CB that reads the game well and steps in and pinches the ball at the right time. Be good to see that partnership with CCV flourish until Starfelt gets back up to speed and it'll be healthy competition for the LCB role which we haven't had for years.

Also on the CDM role I would have loved if we signed Souza but McCarthy could play a key role this season as he's the closest we have to a ball winner in that position. If things aren't going our way in a game or we need to shore it up in a tight game he'll have the chance to step up and show why we signed him.

I’m seriously underwhelmed by signing of Jenz. I hope to be proved wrong but from what I’ve read online he has more than a few poor reviews. I think CB is where we need to buy a proper £5m plus player of the standard of CCV because if CCV gets injured we will be average at CB especially if Julien is allowed to leave.
As for Mooy I think he’s a great signing box to box midfielder who on a free transfer is a terrific bit of business. With Rogic away and Turnbull hasn’t got a great injury record so really pleased we have brought in Mooy who can play CAM, CM and CDM.

Out of the 3 lads mentioned Maeda looks like he would make the biggest impact on the first team.
Hatate, if he could comfortably play at LB and, as he would essentially be a free transfer, could be another good option also ?.

Hatate must be comfortable playing with both feet because I read that he’s right footed but plays left back.
He will also be comfortable playing the inverted fullback formation because Hatate can also play in centre midfield.

That would suggest that a CDM is the position we'll likely try and recruit for today, Oliver Abildgard from Rubin Kazan might be the player you have in mind Paul.
