Any truth that Big Forster will sign tomorrow and will be paraded at the game tomorrow night.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 21 Aug 2019 22:22:11
Hope not.

2.) 22 Aug 2019 06:23:06
Please No.

3.) 22 Aug 2019 07:18:52
Why would u hope not he’s far better than either the current two and we are an injury to Gordon away from a youngster playing.

4.) 22 Aug 2019 07:45:28
Better than what we have in there right now.

5.) 22 Aug 2019 10:50:37
Why's he number 3 now then? Because of his good form? Joke off a signing, as bad as bringing Emilio back, people remembering what they had done and not what their doing or done recently .

6.) 22 Aug 2019 11:42:04
Just because he's not playing at the minute does it mean he's in poor form it could simply be that the manager doesn't rate him as highly as another keeper at the club we've all seen it before at Celtic players not getting a game because the manager prefers someone else.

15 Apr 2019 19:51:26
Is there any truth in us being interested in Graham Potter of Swansea?

Jonbhoy71

{Ed007's Note - I think it's more a case of he's interested in us but according to some he is friendly with people involved at Celtic.}

1.) 15 Apr 2019 20:24:43
Cheers ED.
I wasn't sure if it was just more SMSM paper talk.

{Ed007's Note - Potter's actually one of the better names that's been linked imo. He's a modern thinking manager/coach and I'd take him over the likes of a Moyes or Keane type. Read up on him, he's an interesting character, this is just from his Wiki page:

Potter has been recognised for his "progressive" and "unconventional" coaching methods. At Ostersund, he encouraged his players and staff to engage in community activities, such as performing in theatre and music productions designed to take them out of their comfort zone.

Potter describes his teams as "tactically flexible, attacking, [and] possession-based. At Ostersund, he deployed a flexible 3–5–2 formation centred on ball possession. Former Celtic and Barcelona player Henrik Larsson commented on Potter's pattern of play, stating he "played all different kinds of systems, starting off a match one way, and then halfway through they started playing a different system, and then they ended up with a third system. And all the players knew exactly what they were doing."

As a young coach, Potter studied the training methods of Roberto Martínez at Swansea and became inspired by his possession-based approach, along with the "holistic" training principles he observed during his travels to Spain.
Potter also cites the philosophy of Pep Guardiola and Raymond Verheijen’s periodisation model among his influences.

Marcelo Bielsa had this to say about him:

"He's English, he's a modern coach, he has new ideas, he brings new ideas. [Swansea is] a team that takes care of how they move the ball... in their style, the goalkeeper and defenders build from the back. And for me it’s the feature that you could underline from Swansea [under Potter]"

2.) 15 Apr 2019 20:33:50
What do you think of potter ed? You think he would be good for Celtic or we too big for him?

{Ed007's Note - I think we would need a proper DOF type to work alongside Potter so that Pedro isn't running the footballing side again.}

3.) 15 Apr 2019 21:14:05
If we decided to go down the dof route, who would you like to see in that role for us?

{Ed007's Note - Honestly I don't know. It's such a specialised job and the guys that do it are usually go unnoticed to the rank and file supporters like us. What about ex-Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo who left Monaco a couple of months ago? It's never going to happen and would cost a fortune but how many of you guys have even heard of him - no offence btw I only know about these guys from doing the sites and talking to Ed001 and Ed002 etc.}

4.) 15 Apr 2019 21:29:09
Ed I've heard a few time this season we want to go down the route of a DOF.
Did they not say Kennedy has been looked at for the role?

{Ed007's Note - A newspaper - I can't remember which one - ran the story not long after Rodgers left about Kennedy being promoted but I don't know how much truth there was in it.}

5.) 15 Apr 2019 22:48:57
I remember him doing well with Ostersund, took the team from League 4 to the top division in consecutive season then got through the Europa League group and gave Arsenal a real fright in the last 32.
If Lawwell is looking for a guy to come in and maybe work on a smaller budget, he may be the guy although I don't know if they would pay the compensation that Swansea might ask for.

6.) 16 Apr 2019 09:10:58
I certainly think we need to look at a DoF. Particularly if we're going to go with Lennon as has been said PL will run the footballing side of things and he doesn't have a footballing brain. As Ed points out a lot are unknown to most of us and the more reputable figues, we'd have no chance. After a bit of digging what about Jordi Cruyff? Currently with Maccabi Tel Aviv, so shouldn't be out of reach. He helped transform Larnaca to be the first Cypriot side to qualify for the Europa. And then they did it again the following season. Now in Israel Maccabi Tel Aviv are the big boys again after a long period of not being. They've also enjoyed a credible go in Europe too. He seems to like teams playing attractive, more importantly winning football. He has attracted good managers and players and he must have a decent contacts list. Just a suggestion.

7.) 16 Apr 2019 11:20:54
Scrap that he's managing in China 😅 Feck it let's just give John Park a ring.

8.) 16 Apr 2019 15:44:50
Didn't Swansea give man City a real fright recently I didn't see the game but I heard a quote that Swansea played more like City than city did or something like that he sounds like the type of manager I would like someone who has the tactical knowledge to change things quickly when needed.
reflecting back to Valencia games you could see fairly early on in the first game we needed to change something but it took Rodgers till the second game to do it.

9.) 16 Apr 2019 16:20:30
He did well at Ostersunds, but rising to the celtic job would be meteoric by any standards. So he beat arsenal. One to watch for sure tho.

10.) 16 Apr 2019 19:19:41
If he comes I hope he brings Daniel James with him.

11.) 22 Apr 2019 15:14:37
With Potter at the helm Swansea are currently sitting 12th in the Championship 28 points adrift of leaders Norwich, as one of the teams relegated with the payoff that’s not exactly a roaring endorsement for him getting the Celtic job in my estimations .

12.) 22 Apr 2019 23:22:10
Anyone think Harry Redknapp could be a good shout for DOF if we was going down that route?

28 Jan 2019 19:19:20
Just read a report claiming the new American boy Gutman has walked out on us and hasn't been seen in over a week.
Is this true or is it more paper pish?

Jonbhoy71

1.) 28 Jan 2019 20:03:57
What paper jonbhoy? Can't see such a story anywhere?

2.) 28 Jan 2019 21:56:20
He is supposed to be back in America and considering other options, Celtic supposed to be not interested in him any more.

{Ed007's Note - It would appear that we withdrew the offer from the gossip I'm hearing...... Seems a bit bizarre to me....}

3.) 28 Jan 2019 22:05:06
Yeah that’s a strange wan maybe he was just on trial and didn’t see him as a player anything on Perez boy Ed?

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea. There's really no need to get excited about players that will go into development projects, Rich.}

4.) 28 Jan 2019 22:30:25
Nae bother cheers Ed BRs interview the day wasn’t convinced with his answer to any more signings possibly coming in but we will c hope we get in a defender in.

5.) 28 Jan 2019 22:35:23
A said the same when these boys were over from America, they're development players that would've got a bit of coverage in the celtic view but now the way social media is, their names are all over the place I don't expect to see them for a long time and I certainly don't count them as signings.

6.) 28 Jan 2019 23:29:51
Seen quite a few saying him and Shved have been told to stay away until deadline day.

Probably a way for lawwell to make it look like we were still working on transfers.

Imo the two Americans are pointless anyway. Probably just disappear.

7.) 28 Jan 2019 23:25:49
Got it from here, like I said it might be pish but I hadn't heard the club announcing the deal yet so I wasn't sure what was happening:

goo.gl/p4i3Q4

8.) 29 Jan 2019 11:10:57
Too many development players that have dissapeared over the years.

9.) 29 Jan 2019 12:58:12
He'll end up at Sevco and they'll be gloating thinking it's a coup.

18 Jan 2019 20:04:12
So now the BR has stated YAYA isn't a target and Man U said you McTomley isn't going anywhere are we going to bring in a DM or just a right back.
I can't see us signing a CD since Boyata and Compper don't seem to be going anywhere and Bitton is fit again.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 18 Jan 2019 22:21:41
Omar Ellabadelliou, full back, in on Monday, sorry about spelling of surname.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 22:29:27
Tamtam where u hearing this?

3.) 18 Jan 2019 23:22:33
Not a chance he wants to stay where he is I heard.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 09:26:13
Whell there’s a pic of him at a Greek airport Friday night and there ament to have a game today so fingers crossed.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 10:03:41
I think he is flying out to his clubs game false alarm as per.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 10:48:26
He’s no coming we have enough RBs maybe no the right wan but they are no getting any more Ralston should be given his chance Gamboa is no cutting it and Lustig is still recovering from the World Cup it his age it’s taking it out him. There has to be big clear out Commper now if I didn’t do my job I would be sacked for being rubbish at it so there are two reasons for being removed. CHs you could play them all along the back 4 and still have one or two to n the bench Boyata should’ve been given marching orders he didn’t play when we needed him he could’ve left got money and then reinvest but no he is going for nothing where is the business sense in that PL is renound for his business sense where was he that day off buying some rubbish with his Boness money? There was a post before the window by someone who said that there would be signings but no major work done but if BR got what he wants then u will see them go. Well let’s see and judge at the end of the season HH.

7.) 21 Jan 2019 14:11:17
Well today is Monday. Is it another Monday you were thinking about? I hope you’re right, but we both know that’s not going to happen.

07 Jan 2019 11:55:59
Does anyone know if young Arzani is still with the club.
I wasn't sure if Man City recalled him after the injury and the deal was cancelled.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 07 Jan 2019 17:17:51
As far as I know he's back at city for treatment but will return when he's fit.

2.) 07 Jan 2019 17:56:20
Cheers Steph.

3.) 07 Jan 2019 22:05:02
Arzani will be a while yet, was it not a full knee recon?

4.) 08 Jan 2019 07:26:41
A think he's out till may. Can see his loan being extended, is there an option to buy do u know.

Well done the Sheep, I just hope we don't slip up over the next few away games.

Jonbhoy71

26 Jan 2020 19:07:58
Hi ED
Have you heard about any new players coming in, if not do you still believe we will bring in another couple of first team players.

Jonbhoy71

{Ed007's Note - I believe there will be another 2 players brought in before the window closes.}

1.) 26 Jan 2020 19:51:01
You reckon Soro + 1 or Soro + 2?

{Ed007's Note - Soro + 2.}

2.) 26 Jan 2020 19:58:39
I would like us to sign cover for CB and a top quality LB. I know some others would like a LW as well but I am happy with Johnstone and Elyounoussi, although I won't complain if we bring a LW in as well.

{Ed007's Note - I think Johnston would be better going out on loan to another SPL team next season.}

3.) 26 Jan 2020 20:45:12
Cheers ED
I agree with you about Johnston, I think he would be better going on loan just like Christie and wee McGregor.
I just don't think he is up to it right now in a Celtic shirt.

{Ed007's Note - Johnston's a bit too lightweight for my liking so it's a question if he can bulk/toughen up.}

4.) 26 Jan 2020 21:07:20
I don't think he can or will bulk up to the extent of the likes of Christie or KT.

{Ed007's Note - That's the BIG question for me, Kev. Get him on the slimfast & chips program and see where the dice land.}

5.) 26 Jan 2020 21:49:22
Ed I look at his body shape and I just can't see him beefing right up. He doesn't have the wide shoulders that KT and christie had even before they got bigger.
Also his game is being a wee nippy fast winger would beefing up affect that?
Sure by now everyone knows I don't think he will ever amount to more than a bit part player and I've still not seen anything that shows me different.

{Ed007's Note - I agree, Kev but I will be surprised if he is even a bit part player for us in the future.}

6.) 27 Jan 2020 00:42:59
Anyone can build strength and muscle with the right training. He's never going to be a tank but surely they can make him a more physical player?

30 Dec 2019 03:07:20
So just wanted to point out for the ones that think we will still walk this league and win it by double figures.
Since Lennon has came back in last season, We have won 74 Points and they have won 76 and they have a game in hand but hey I'm ckassed as a panic merchant.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 30 Dec 2019 08:16:21
I agree, and in final and since our most creative player has been Frimpong. Worrying that all our flair players seem to have hit a sticky spell together.

2.) 30 Dec 2019 10:15:21
Once again our 'big' players and match-winners went missing and we can all debate personnel and formations, but if James Forrest, Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouarde (and the lightweight Johnston) are not up for a game like this - we are in serious trouble.
Once again in a big game too many went missing or only had flashes of their true form and at the moment we may have better players (on paper) , but Sevco have a better organization and work ethic.
Over the whole game we were not outclassed and had several chances to score, with clearances off the line and some great saves - (even a PK) , although, Sevco had more possession, but few chances.
Our defending of both goals could be questioned, but what was blatantly obvious was the difference in attitude and confidence.

3.) 30 Dec 2019 10:31:57
Jonbhoy I think we have got complacent thinking if we turn up we win but you need to earn it first . Anyone who makes excuses for yesterday has to take the blinkers off the team selection was wrong the tactics where wrong and Lennon takes the blame for that in my eyes as for people saying we have played a lot of football is nonsense so have they and they ran over the top of us . It’s the last game of the year before you have a 3week break against them with 60thousand fans cheering you on you have to give it your all and leave everything on the park with the knowledge your getting a good rest after that one game . What more encouragement do the players need?

29 Dec 2019 15:10:20
Just watched Lennon's interview, he must be totally deluded if he doesn't think we didn't deserve to lose that.
God knows what we are in for over the next 5 months.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 29 Dec 2019 15:29:26
We were shocking, that has been coming, hope lesson are karne, too many passengers.

2.) 29 Dec 2019 15:48:38
No clue Lennon didn't help.

3.) 29 Dec 2019 16:26:53
Lennon will be saying one thing to the press and another behind closed doors. Every manager does it.

06 Dec 2019 15:45:40
I see Rodgers has signed a new contract at Leicester, I guess that means he will be off in the summer.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 06 Dec 2019 16:33:51
He 100% played for that! What a kn08.

2.) 06 Dec 2019 16:55:10
He’s a fud.

3.) 06 Dec 2019 18:06:57
He was already on £7 million a year.
He will have a clause in his contract, that if certain clubs come in for him, Leicester will need to release him.

4.) 06 Dec 2019 18:08:12
Can you answer one question jfp1888 why did he leave and can you answer one more why did Martin oneil leave why did lennon leave and come back and Rodgers left why? You must know calling him that name so please your knowledge cheers then I can sleep better in my bed knowing we set records under his guidence as you know the answer.

5.) 06 Dec 2019 18:35:17
Jinky88, that's some "one question" 🤣.

6.) 06 Dec 2019 18:48:40
Jinky he left because could not wait to go back to the land of milk and honey! So much so that he walked out on the eve of an important game at tynecastle and tried to take the entire coaching staff with him! The life long Celtic man was quite happy to leave his boyhood club in the lurch smack bang in the middle of an unprecedented treble treble! He’s a rat and Leicester fans will find that out soon enough! Hope u sleep better now its been explained to you!

7.) 06 Dec 2019 19:58:01
I don't know how people don't get that the problem with Rodger IS NOT that he left.
It was HOW he left.
He left right in the middle of a season
He left on the eve of an important game
He tried to gut our club of it's full coaching staff.
He never even had the decency to speak to the 1st team player.

Players and managers come and go but most leave with more dignity than that.

8.) 06 Dec 2019 19:58:04
So the treble treble and the ivincibles and all the levels he took us too mentioned nothing about the players he made into fitter and stronger players rember lennon won with his team so I think you were graced with a good time as him as manager why can you put all the blame on him managers leave and it happens he was not very good the way he left but I respect what he done for our outlook and fitness he brought to the club and the way he kept going but everybody has to think he done well at celtic.

9.) 06 Dec 2019 20:40:16
How many pumpings did we take in Europe under the rat. I am not lennons biggest fan but we haven't been pumped once under lennon and I am now glad lennon took the job he has proved me wrong so many times this season already.

10.) 06 Dec 2019 21:03:16
Jinky mate, are you related to saint Brendan or something? You're fairly fighting his corner anyway. But the facts remain. No one can argue with his achievements, but the way he conducted himself when he left was appalling, and for that he'll never be held in the same regard as the greats. because he's nothing but a rat. A rat who won trophies, but a rat none the less. Good riddance.

11.) 06 Dec 2019 21:14:26
Oneils wife was ill.

12.) 06 Dec 2019 21:24:27
Last but not least he ruined a good Christmas song and even worse a hymn.

13.) 06 Dec 2019 21:49:51
Again no one disputes his record or achievements.
But he soiled his legacy by the way he left.

What kind of man doesn't even take the time to say goodbye to the men who have fought tooth and nail for him to rebuild his reputation?
They deserved that much at least did they not jinky?

14.) 06 Dec 2019 22:55:38
At least we're not bitter 😂.

15.) 06 Dec 2019 22:59:40
Kev hits the nail on the head! Not the fact he left because we all accept that managers and players move on! But the way the rat went about leaving is unforgivable and will forever we remembered Over any trophies he won! I would gladly not see his face or hear him talk rubbish every again! Every word that comes out his mouth about our club was and always will be utter lies! Good riddance!

16.) 06 Dec 2019 23:27:01
guys i think jinky is on the sauce tonight.
any celtic supporter should never need to ask
why he was a RAT.
the only thing that man loves is himself and money.
the word loyalty is not in his vocabulary and we
are well rid.
jinky sober up wee man.
hail hail.

17.) 07 Dec 2019 07:26:03
jinky. you actual trying to defend that rodent Rodgers.

18.) 07 Dec 2019 07:42:05
Bang on Kev. As I said he’s a fud.

19.) 07 Dec 2019 09:30:50
That's your opinion danny and if you think that but record's were set and that's what matters moving on and be a fitter and stronger team now we are reaping the benifits as lennon learned a lot as he has proved the doubters wrong records set again so don't be so bitter enjoy being in green heaven and it's going to get better as we are competing in Europe managers don't crazy things but he has to live with it but we are a brilliant team that's what matters happy Xmas Danny have good green one.

20.) 07 Dec 2019 09:55:30
Rodgers would sell his gran to make a buck.
Everytime I see his face I change my TV to the horror Chanel it's an easier watch. He ruined everything he did by the way he left us literally just walked out it's like he cheated on us. We where all on his roller coaster he jumped ship and nearly took all the gears with him.

21.) 07 Dec 2019 10:16:06
Spot on Andy! A rat and always will be one! Jinky seems to have a selective memory to be honest! But hey ho each to their own I guess! 😆.

Because Kev at first Lennon wanted players in whilst they were in Dubai, then he said we were working on bringing in 4 players (we got 2,one oh whom we won't see anytime soon)
We were then told that they were "working" on things and over the last week Lennon has said that he is happy with what he has.
If we do bring someone in it won't be someone who will walk straight into the first team.
I really hope I'm wrong but I just can't see anything happening.

Only in Scotland does it seem that if you are under a certain age you are classed as a project.

Don't understand why we played Ajer at RB and Jozo in the middle, Brown no where near fit, Forrest was an empty shirt.
Again Lennons hesitation in changing tactis and subs is mind boggling.
We should have started with 2 up front and went at them from the start to finish the tie, it felt like we were happy to play for a 0-0 .

he shouldn't have been anywhere near the team as he was no where near fit. Bitton should have started.
we should have had Frimpong at RB and Ajer in the middle.

The only thing that really frustrates me with him is that far to often he tries to do it all himself.
He has scored some great goals and sets a few up but when he tries to take on the whole defence and then hits the side net instead of passing to an open player 5 feet away I want to put my foot through the tv.

He wasn't a defender when we signed him, he was a midfielder and even played as striker. It was Rodgers who wanted him to play at the back, I personally think he would be perfect as Brown's replacement.

Jonbhoy71
