Reports saying young Dede is away to Middlesbrough, his contract was out in the summer so we have sold now.
Another young player gone, I hope we aren't wasting £10m on the new training complex for the boys as we can't or don't seem to be able to hold onto anyone.
Either that or the staff identifying all these young guys need let go and we need to employ people who can actually identify potential and we really need to start giving these young boys that do look like they are going to make it more game time.

Dede looked promising when I've seen him.

I would have thought that with the rumours that Valle is going to Como that we wouldn't sanction the deal unless KT was signed.
Now I'm thinking that he might be for the off even if we don't get the KT deal done until the summer as I have been surprised to see Scales coming on at LB for Taylor in the last couple of games.
Could this be to make sure the boy doesn't get any kind of injury and for BR to have a look at Scales in the LB position in a game situation to see if he is happy with Scales as cover until the summer.
I can't remember Scales playing at LB in a meaningful game anytime last season.

Maybe offsets the shelling long ball brigade tactic used by spl teams.

2.) 19 Jan 2025 17:05:19
Mentioned quite a few times in the past to try Scales at Lb, he started his career at Lb.

3.) 20 Jan 2025 08:21:36
Think Scales came on to add height to the back four and combat the Ayrshire Rangers long ball tactics.

4.) 20 Jan 2025 21:54:45
Scales is terrible at left back.

5.) 21 Jan 2025 19:22:13
He is a very good substitute coming on late, if opponents are throwing every thing at us . Extra height at set pieces can be very important.

6.) 22 Jan 2025 21:13:36
He played for the Dons at lb and scored a beauty against the currant buns.

ED do you know if there is anything in the story of us bidding for the young Villa striker.
Reports say we are moving quickly which would make me think that there is possibly something in the Kyogo rumours.
I know we won't want to sell Kyogo until after the CL qualification is sorted but we still have a few days after the Villa game to register players.

Jonbhoy71

{Ed007's Note - Louie Barry is seen/played mostly as a LW, Jon so I don't think him signing would have any bearing on Kyogo who I don't see leaving during this window.
There is plenty of interest in Louie Barry including Celtic but as for us bidding for him I'd doubt it as Aston Villa want him to sign a new contract - I think he only has 18 months to go on his current deal - and go out on loan, they won't entertain any bids until the contract situation is sorted out.}

1.) 16 Jan 2025 14:30:45
Thanks for the reply ED.

£9m now bid for Engels, hopefully this is done along with Bogusz.
What a midfield we will have along with Bernardo, Hatate, Calmac and Holm.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 27 Aug 2024 18:12:51
When you think JJ moved for a similar sum you'd think they'd accept it ???.

2.) 27 Aug 2024 18:29:04
As with the signings incoming I hope holm gets minutes this season. He was regarded a top talent when we got him and I really don't want him to be one of these players who leave to then become a fantastic talent because he wasn't given time.

3.) 27 Aug 2024 19:04:55
Ando88,

I hear what you're saying but as fans we can't have it all ways.

If he's good enough, he plays, if not he needs to wait on his chance as the competition in that area is healthy.

☘️ ? ☘️.

4.) 27 Aug 2024 19:25:21
Absolutely Pedro I get that and I hope the lad takes the chance when it's given to him ?.

5.) 27 Aug 2024 20:05:49
Ando88 ?.

6.) 27 Aug 2024 21:08:59
I like Holm and think he will be a really good signing for us.
I see him getting more time this season and becoming a regular next season.

7.) 27 Aug 2024 22:27:50
I liked gustav. And look how thst ended?.

8.) 27 Aug 2024 22:52:21
I'd still rather we loaned out Holm even if it's just until Jan. The boy needs regular. He looked good in pre season but getting the odd 10 mins here and there when the games fizzled out isn't going to develop him.

9.) 28 Aug 2024 09:55:09
I like Holme, really talented player but with the players we are in for, he would struggle to get game time, a loan to a team he'd play for regularly, at a decent level and he can comeback, game time fitter and better and maybe with a chance BR will pick him.

I think like a few players, BR said he was lazy and if you are like that, you want play in this team.

Reports saying personal terms agreed with Engels and the boy is desperate to join.

Looks like Calmac is struggling, if he isn't 100% then he shouldn't play.
We need everyone to turn up on Sunday and he has been very poor in the last couple of games against the Dark Side.
I would like McCowan to get a start as the boy will be flying.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 14 Mar 2025 17:59:38
I'd have been tempted to bench mcgregor before the injury news. I like Mccowan but feel sometimes that the game passes him by when he starts but I'm sure he Will be up for if he is called upon from the start. Will be interesting to see how engels does in his first start in the glasgow derby.

2.) 14 Mar 2025 19:13:55
Even when McGregor isn’t at his best, he is the most important Celtic player on the pitch . He is like a conductor and the team respond to him . If we are missing McGregor we are missing more than a footballer we are missing the man who sees that everyone is following the plan and instructions led down by BR . It’s almost impossible for BR to get his message across to players who play on opposite side, Cal knows the message and fills them in .
I think many of Cal’s less good performances come about when our whole midfield and wingers are not getting their defensive part of the game right, when opponents are given time and space to play the ball they want to their attacking players . It rarely happens hopefully it doesn’t happen on Sunday.

The linesman gives the Maeda goal.
The Ref gives the goal.
VAR gets involved and decides the whole of the ball is out and disallows the goal.
The Premier Sport commentary states live on air that there is NO camera that goes along the line.
Both him and Lennon can't tell from the 3 different angles which are at least 30 feet away if the whole of the ball is out
How does VAR explain the clear and obvious error to disallow the goal.
Is Muir sitting in his VAR truck with his Rangers top on pearing through his orange tinted glasses.
I wonder what Gollum will say about this on his wee YouTube channel.
Will the result be changed to a draw if it's proven the ball wasn't out?

Jonbhoy71

1.) 22 Feb 2025 15:40:09
To be fair the video slowed down after the game when they were analysing it to me looked like the ball was out, but still it's not definitive enough.
Games done, move on to the next with a more aggressive attitude today was sloppy and lethargic.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 16:44:45
The problem today, that ref and assistants didn’t show fair play at any time in the game . They certainly weren’t saying that it should be a goal as they wanted to help Celtic . I have yet to hear anyone who thinks that ref and assistant were clearly wrong and that VAR had to over call their decision.
To say to be fair it was too close to call, means that goal has to stand .

3.) 22 Feb 2025 16:58:07
Remember a ball is round Turner??.

4.) 22 Feb 2025 16:59:11
There is a very good artical by Gary Neville which shows a ball that is in but looks out when you see it at certain angles, the same angle that VAR would have had today.
As BR said after the game, Muir guessed. UNLESS he can prove 100% during the game then the goal stands, end of story or it should be but not in Scotland.

5.) 22 Feb 2025 19:32:20
As time passes and the SMSM get time to make wee changes, we will get a definite picture shown ball was out . Strange how given time the right picture can be got.

22 Jan 2025 15:38:19
Just a thought but is there any chance that we start with Scales at LB.
Now my thinking is that the size of the YB team and especially the forwards are well over 6ft.
If the play the long diagonal ball to the back post, we could be in real trouble tonight.

I still think Taylor will start but I just hope he doesn't have a nightmare like he has done a few times this season.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 22 Jan 2025 16:27:58
For some unknown reason, some Celtic fans have said that Taylor has had nightmares regularly ever since we signed him . From time to time it appears that only our Managers, Ange and BR seem to appreciate how well Taylor has served us since we signed him . If YB’s do try play the long diagonal ball to the back post, it is the responsibility of our players playing on the right hand side of our defence and midfield RHS to prevent them from doing so .
That’s an example of what a team game is about, Celtic seek to prevent opponents working on a perceived weakness in our set-up and at the same time exploit a weaknesss.

2.) 22 Jan 2025 16:42:57
I don’t think BR will have any sleepless night over G T inability to defend his side of defence from long diagonal high balls to a taller opponent . Two of our best managers over nearly 20 yrs have had complete faith in G T . I hope tonight is no different . If BR has worries about GT been not capable of handling long diagonal balls into his defensive area Brendan will take action for players on our right side to prevent YBs from sending these long diagonal balls into GT area .
Usually if a Celtic is going to win, it has to prevent opponents from playing game to their strengths and thus tonight we should be pressing high and preventing GT having trouble from these long diagonal balls.

3.) 22 Jan 2025 16:58:22
He had a nightmare against Rangers in the cup final and at Ibrox.
He set up there first and we could have been 2 down due to him.
He constantly loses the ball in midfield and doesn't have the speed to get back but for some reason Trusty got the blame.
There has been countless other times he nearly cost us but fortunately the teams weren't good enough to punish us.

4.) 22 Jan 2025 17:17:03
Johnbhoy you’d be struggling to find anyone who had a good game at IPox, our midfield were all rank rotten especially Hatate and CalMac, no one was showing to take the ball from Taylor. To blame Taylor alone is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone remembers every single mistake he makes but never gives credit for the goals he creates or his pressing like for our second goal v RB L. Kyoto’s sitters this season have been brutal and the midfield tonight really need to up their game.

5.) 22 Jan 2025 17:37:41
Scales is terrible at left back, his best position is at centre back, but he is a level below Trusty there.

6.) 22 Jan 2025 19:03:14
Jonbhoy You probably are correct for blaming him for first goal in L C F, but you should equally gave him some praise for scoring our first goal in that match .
We should be fair and impartial towards all our players.
If we took a very critical look at most of our back 4 players we may find that they have been responsible for goals we have conceded.
I keep remembering that in Ange and BR we have had two managers who lived for and for most part achieved positive results. I cannot see or understand why either of these men would go out of their way to handicap themselves by persisting in G Taylor as LB If he is as bad as some tell us, we should be able to replace him by signing a fullback at very little money and expecting very small wage, he would suit our Board down to the ground .

7.) 22 Jan 2025 19:07:53
TTT1 I think if you look at my past posts you will see that I have said on numerous occasions that it was time we sold Kyogo due to the amount of sitters he misses, I've also mentioned that Hatate needs benched as he only seems to have a good 30mins coming off the bench.

8.) 22 Jan 2025 19:27:25
I wouldn't be as hard on Taylor IF he played as a LB.
How many times has he lost the ball thinking he is a RW.

9.) 22 Jan 2025 19:58:38
Jonbhoy . I am sure G T is following the direction and tactics of his manager . Other complain about him inverting into midfield. He only does both or either these things because he is following instructions and encouragement by BR.

02 Nov 2024 16:28:18
Really strong lineup today.
I'm going for 3-1.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 02 Nov 2024 17:43:13
Very happy Valle and Trusty are in.

Brendan was clear that sentiment will be set aside and best team in his view will play.

Scales and Taylor will still get plenty game time but they won’t be first choice until Trusty or Valle drop their performance levels.

2-1 to the good guys.

23 Oct 2024 19:42:19
And that is why we paid £6m for Trusty.
The 2 Bhoys at the back were immense, I really hope the people getting on there backs give it a rest, also young Valle was superb as was the whole team.
I did say Valle was an upgrade on Taylor when some folk were complaining when we brought him in.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 23 Oct 2024 19:48:04
I think most knew he was but he's not going to be our player at the end of the season unless there's a fair shift. Cracking performance all round.

2.) 23 Oct 2024 20:09:27
Trusty, you were top man tonight. Credit where it's due ?. Well done the whole team. HH.

3.) 23 Oct 2024 20:54:16
John Bhoy it’s as if you read my mind.

Great post and result ?.

No chance do I want him back, If a player is that desperate to leave then let him stew.
Also I mentioned in another post that in his time here he was only the top scorer at the club in 1 season which isn't good enough if you are the main striker.

Rocky has never let us down when he has played, I'm hoping he settles quickly and that he doesn't make a mistake early that leads to a goal for them.
You never know, this might be Brendan's master plan to get The Cartoon character the job on a permanent basis lol.

I would really like to see Bernardo getting a run out in the "McGregor" role when he is fit.
I think the boy is a huge and don't want to see him getting disillusioned if he isn't getting game time.
I still agreed that we should sign Miller as I can see Hatate going in the Summer and we need to start scaling McGregor's game time back a bit.

I would try that but only when the league is rapped up.
I would also play our reserves at Mordor as we could probably expect to go there the second last game of the saeason which is only a couple of weeks before the cup final and I would expect the gremlin will instruct his players to kick us off the park.

So its going to be totally ok when we score at Mordor and Ralston, Jota or Khun runs up the sideline and does the same?
Will the SMSM just say it was a wee bit of banter and our fans are having a pyro party? will so called pundits like Peter Martin and Tam McManus sit on there youtube show and say its a bit of fun and Celtic need to stop over reacting. I wonder how they would react if they were walking down the street and someone ran past asnd threw a bottle of water over them.

Celticda, did you not watch the game? If we had someone on the back post they wouldn't have scored there first goal, they then got a lift and we fell apart for 35 mins.
If they hadn't scored that it would have been a different game.

You must have been watching a different game than me Bhoy88, Engels was the only player that had pass marks for me.
You can't expect Engels to win the midfield battle on his own, Hatate and McCowan are ok going forward but hopeless when we need them to step up and battle.

We Really, Really need a Big Vic type in midfield, to many players hiding and not showing for the ball and that lead to CCV, Kasper and Rocky playing the ball to much between each other.
I felt sorry for Engels as he had no one to help him run the midfield.
