Any substance in the link to us re-signing the Greek god?

Phliphlop

1.) 20 May 2025 20:07:13
I thought he was excellent for us first time around and I'd take him back.

☘️ ☘️ ☘️.

2.) 21 May 2025 02:28:43
He was asked the question about wanting to play for us. Like most would, he said 'aye'. That's turned into us after him. It wouldn't actually surprise me, and at one point this season I actually thought about how I wish he might not have left. But in the cold light of day I'd have to say no to this one. We're going out after potentially a treble and by a lot of accounts our best ever CL campaign, bragging about money in the bank, on the look out for a star striker. It's got to be better than GG really.

3.) 21 May 2025 04:25:32
Kyogo'd likely be cheaper.

4.) 21 May 2025 20:19:31
I thought Samaras retired! Lol.

5.) 21 May 2025 22:24:53
I was literally just going to post that wyllie67 ?.

6.) 22 May 2025 11:08:16
Wouldn't touch him now, he is only driven by money. Toys would be back out the pram after a season.

7.) 22 May 2025 17:12:13
Going back for Jota and KT is more than enough for me. Our recruitment has to be more adventurous and ambitious if we are to continue improving and progressing in Europe.
A club like ours should have a world-wide scouting network and not some guy looking at old videos and scanning You Tube clips.

8.) 22 May 2025 19:20:50
Maybe we have. I would imagine Manchester Utd have a world wide network of scouts and a fat lot of good it has done them . How do we know the extent of any club’s network of scouts and who they are? We may know who the head scout is and maybe some leading regional scout’s name but very few more.

9.) 23 May 2025 19:48:10
The fact that Kyogo is likely to be cheaper should definitely be the last consideration that whoever is making decision should think of . In fact if we want to improve our team for next season, it shouldn’t be thought about .
Our board when a certain PL was CEO was frequently blamed for buying the cheaper option .
This seems to have left a lasting impression on some of our supporters, as they seem to belittle the performance of Engels and Idah because we paid 2020’s prices for them and now we have a mention of Kyogo because he is likely to be cheaper than Giakoumakis.

News article today suggesting Johnny Kenny back in January. What's the views on his chances of making the grade and who's making way in the match squad.

Phliphlop

1.) 07 Dec 2024 20:45:02
He deserves a chance with the 1st team to see what he's got. he's had an excellent loan spell and still very young. He could be an adequate 3rd choice for now but another loan to an spfl team might be a good move also.

2.) 07 Dec 2024 20:55:21
For me that's the acid test and sensible direction to go. Loan to a club where he must play and chart his progress from there.

Im seeing the oshea boys name a bit. Is that just optimism or is there any substance to it?

Phliphlop

1.) 28 Jul 2024 04:16:18
Hopefully. Credit where it's due, Scales has come in and done a job. But we should really be looking to get another CB in to partner CCV.

2.) 28 Jul 2024 11:43:00
Scales is a very useful squad player, like ralston is. Can play LB aswell. But we need a serious step up in quality to play beside CCV and signing oshea could give us probably our best CB partnership we have had in years.

3.) 28 Jul 2024 14:31:23
Derry Tim . I am seriously worried about CCV .
Is he another Mickey Johnson . . CCV missed most of our Champions Leagues a couple of yrs ago . He missed a third this season and even bigger percentage in SPL. It always takes him a couple of games getting back on form . Scales was available practically every game and that adds to his importance.
We can’t afford to play 2 games per week from start of August until end of year with a worry about a cb for every game . CCV was so much off his game last night, ok ist game since May, but obviously CCV has not done much ball work as his touch was terrible . You just can’t be a good team player if u are regularly unfit.

Hatate to Brighton. get your money on that one. ?.

Phliphlop

1.) 30 Mar 2023 21:49:14
Sadly we all knew hatate would be leaving in the summer. I think Brighton would suit him for a season or 2 before moving on but I've heard there's a couple teams from Spain and Germany that can't be discounted.

12 Oct 2022 23:47:29
Ok there's meltdowns then there's the newco nuclear self immolation with collateral damage meltdowns going on right now. We were bad. but not newco bad.

Phliphlop

1.) 13 Oct 2022 08:27:23
The blame game will go on for months. They will try and blame everyone outside Ibrox. We went into this hoping to improve and learn, which we have. We are not far off it, take our chances and stay tight we'll be OK. We are a work in progress. They went into it expecting to get to the final. Don't worry a friendly ref will help the deluded this weekend, bet we hear Tav scores penalty this weekend.

2.) 13 Oct 2022 16:57:58
I will admit it's funny they lost but some off our fans are creaming their pants. We got knocked out the champions league but sevco got pumped out so it's fine is the mentality off some fans.

We should not be comparing ourselves to them, it was this attitude that held us back for years when rangers died. Fans were happy enough just to be better than them when we should have been out off sight going for 12 in a row this season.

Like I said it's funny I admit I had a laugh but I wouldn't celebrate it like some are doing.

{Ed007's Note - ??

3.) 14 Oct 2022 16:45:38
Fully agree Dc7591. Couldn't care less about them.

4.) 15 Oct 2022 14:32:44
I'm just happy to see them get what they deserve. They was lucky to get past PSV and knew a tough group they would get the kind of doing we've been ripped for off them when playing against the likes of PSG. Doesn't heal the disappointment for me as our group got away from us due to endless missed chances. We should be on the brink of getting out a tough group yet we're out with 2 games to spare. It's tough but it's all a learning curve, but from where we was under Lennon to now is some hell of an improvement.

5.) 18 Oct 2022 14:37:51
We haven’t even won a game in Europe this season and have created new record of losing 7 games in a row at home in this competition.
Let’s be honest Real Madrid are the only top side in our group there’s nothing much between the rest of us so instead of worrying about how poor they have been we need to take a reality check as I genuinely thought we would have great chance to qualify out this group and at very worst would be a clear 3rd but again we are nowhere near it.
All this but we created lots of chances is great if other team don’t and they scrape a win but Leipzig scored 5 over 2 games, had 2 ruled out and missed at least 3 1on1’s with GK and we lost both games by 2 clear goals.
Against Real we lost by 3 clear goals at home even though their main man was taken off injured. This Real Madrid side are beatable at this stage every season just ask Sherif or Shahktar who despite losing the majority of their 1st team in summer and don’t even have a home ground in their own country were seconds away from beating them this year but still drew.
We are actually proud to have played well for an hour and losing 3-0 is that the depths we have fallen to now that when we lose 3 group games 8-1 on aggregate we say yeah but we created lots of chances as if the opposition scored every chance they got because on that logic we would have lost 5-2 to Real Madrid, 7-2 to Leipzig and 5-2 at CP.
We did deserve to beat Shahktar and that frustrates me that we didn’t but losing ourselves in the comp to a team that heap of Sh** KO this calender year then slagging them for getting pumped is embarrassing.

Is idah doing enough, on the field, to justify a starting place in the team?

Phliphlop

1.) 20 Apr 2025 22:21:28
We looked a much more dangerous team with him on the park today. Maeda offered nothing when he switched to through the middle.

2.) 20 Apr 2025 23:09:23
He scored?

3.) 21 Apr 2025 04:02:52
I thought idah played well yesterday. He linked play well and was working hard at closing down.

Yes maeda scored yesterday but both his goals came when he was on the left, which I think is his best position.

I have said for a while that idah needs to work harder off the ball if he wants to play and yesterday he done that very well. He just needs to continue that, as it is vital for our offence and defence.

4.) 21 Apr 2025 09:57:31
I think Maeda has improved enormously playing as a striker and doesn't offer the same pace and impact as he used to bring, when reverting to the wing. Idah foes offer other options but I honestly can't see much improvement from OH and definitely not as good as GG in the same position.

5.) 21 Apr 2025 10:57:45
Idah definitely has some qualities and may make a top striker with a few more years experience under his belt. Sadly, it's difficult to get a really good striker for the kind of money we'll be willing to pay.

I would continue to play Maeda out wide if for no other reason than to give Idah, (and hopefully Kenny) some game time.

While we don't want to lose momentum, I think AJ, Calmac and Maeda could all d with a rest, although the last named might want to continue playing while in such a rich vein of scoring form.

6.) 21 Apr 2025 11:00:29
I like idah and agree with the general points if view but felt his touch was at times poor.

7.) 21 Apr 2025 13:24:41
His touch isn't any worse than maeda.

8.) 21 Apr 2025 13:28:00
I thought he was really up for the match yesterday unlike many other games he showed an interrest and worked harder than most . He did have some good bits of play, including a few good runs with the ball& scored .
If that was Idah’s base I’d standard from now on, I am sure BR could improve him to a very good leader of the front line.

9.) 21 Apr 2025 18:48:51
There is zero point in playing Kenny after we win at Tannadice. He's not going to be a part next year so why play him?

10.) 22 Apr 2025 12:33:43
There must be an inner circle, I would love to be a member of .
I have no idea what is going through BR’s mind re players he will want to use next season.

I appreciate all the permutations are mute if we keep winning but anyone know what they all are? Can we be guaranteed qualified tomorrow.

Phliphlop

1.) 21 Jan 2025 21:08:49
I think if Celtic, Arsenal win and Man City don’t get beat tomorrow, that will be enough.

04 Jan 2025 17:49:49
If the club is going to get the kt deal done make sure its by Wednesday. Temperatures are perfect for kt emerging from the green brigade section under the hue of smoke from the pyros in his xxs celtic polo shirt payong homage to broonie while ed cries happy tears. A proper wwf entry needed. None of this stage managed pish.

I also felt he simply did not want to be in the city of culture which is glasgow. Perhaps the allure of champions league football was not enough against a backdrop of spl. We may never know.
