Brighton's just offered a cracking deal for Edouard. 18.5 mill could rise to 22 mill plus a 15 percent sell on any future fee. a player in last year of contract who does not want to be here we must accept that.

United ireland

1.) 27 Jul 2021 18:03:08
I heard the sell on was anything from 5% to 15% aslong as they got over 30million for him.

2.) 27 Jul 2021 18:24:49
Agree UI doubt we will receive a better offer than that. It's whether Eddy fancies the move to Brighton. He can always use them as a stepping stone to a better team further down the line.

3.) 27 Jul 2021 18:24:49
It is a good deal for him and club, hopefully leave us with a hat trick tomorrow.

4.) 27 Jul 2021 18:29:45
Take their arm off, it's a no brainer given the circumstances.

5.) 27 Jul 2021 18:32:31
Good offer. Needless to say we should be pushing for a wee bit more but I don't think that'll be too far away.

6.) 27 Jul 2021 18:35:59
I really didn't think Edouard and Brighton would be a good fit but since they've brought Graeme Potter in they're much better and play with a very decent amount of possession. Could be a shrewd move for him.

7.) 27 Jul 2021 18:46:58
We could do a lot with that money if spent wisely.
It does make sense all the transfer links today some to believe and some not to.
No1 is bigger than the club and everyone can be replaced.

8.) 27 Jul 2021 19:28:57
It's not enough, keep Eddy, to help in Europe, once he starts finding the back of the net, everything will change, aren't PSG due a lot of the transfer fee anyway, let him run down his contract and use his European goals to get more money out of Europe.

9.) 27 Jul 2021 19:33:39
What worries me is who do we replace him with. Ajeti not the answer. Griffiths I've said my piece on him. The Japanese boy? . We haven't got a good history buying forwards.
Hopefully the scouting is already been done on that front.

10.) 27 Jul 2021 20:21:09
I know it might sound like a joke but surely as a club we know Eddy was going in this window and we have a long list of replacements on stand bye.
My only fear is that he knocks them back and we don’t receive any other bids as high.
If it’s public knowledge that bid was accepted and he rejects it the any other party will at best bud the same at worst bid less especially if it’s late in the window.
£18.5m with 50% profit going to PSG is still £9m plus £4.75m coming to us and although I don’t expect our board to use the full £13.75m to replace him I’m excited to see who we can get in the £5-10m bracket.

11.) 27 Jul 2021 20:41:11
I wouldn't play him tomorrow incase he gets a bad injury, play abada up front he will cause loads of problems with his pace alone.

12.) 27 Jul 2021 20:56:10
Celtic could play Abada up front, with Christie playing behind him, Christie also looking for a move, might manage to get a couple of goals to help with any possible transfer for Celtic and himself.

13.) 27 Jul 2021 22:28:17
50% to PSG? Where have u seen that, why would we pay £9m for a player then sign a clause like that.

14.) 27 Jul 2021 22:37:50
Stephbhoy Think it’s 50% or 40% anything above 9 million so celtic would get their money they paid back but would only get half of any profit made.

15.) 27 Jul 2021 22:38:49
Also meant to say probably the only way celtic could get PSG to agree to selling him for 9 million in the first place.

16.) 28 Jul 2021 12:06:03
I think big Pete left his Dick Turpin mask in the drawer for wee Dom.
£13.5m possibly rising to £18 for Ajer and then £18m possibly rising to £22m with both having good sell on clauses for 2 players with less than 12 months left!
Pure daylight robbery!

17.) 28 Jul 2021 14:25:23
We shouldn't sell Eddy for any thing less than thirty million, it's common sense.

18.) 29 Jul 2021 09:53:00
Eddy doesn't want to be here you can see it in his performances on the pitch he is half hearted at best.

03 Jun 2021 17:06:54
we have suppose to have agreed terms with yokohama.

28 May 2021 16:19:51
67 hail hail have reported what the club says to them howe asked the club for time for Bournemouth season to finish that he would take the job so the club granted him time thinking it would all be done. now howe is saying he can't assemble the backroom staff he wants for up in Scotland and family obligations that's why deal is off. club is advanced talks with another candidate. howe has basically done us over.

United ireland

1.) 28 May 2021 16:34:01
If that’s true UI then the Celtic board really aren’t fit for purpose. If there were any indications that a deal for Howe could potentially hit snags we should have hit it on the head and moved onto the next candidate immediately.

2.) 28 May 2021 16:53:37
Fully agree iceman. How can we put all our eggs in one basket. With all due respect it howe not rafa we were going for. The board have given him far too much say and time in what was happening here. The big fear we all had was what if does happen where do we go. Now any other candidate knows they were second choice at best. This board never seem to learn.

3.) 28 May 2021 16:54:06
think it hit its snag today mate. suppose to be in talks with favre.
i didn't really want howe anyway mate i says it on the podcast and i says it on here to he didn't really excite me but i would have got behind him. Favre excites me.

4.) 28 May 2021 16:58:50
Exactly Barry, this should have been provisionally agreed weeks ago between all parties involved even if they weren't able to officially commit to it until the season was over.

Disgraceful and shambolic IF it's true. HH.

28 May 2021 07:41:41
robbie brady leaves burnley reports were interested. perfect signing on a free and adds to the left side both as defender and left mid be daft not to sign him great we player. what's your thoughts.

United ireland

1.) 28 May 2021 08:10:34
I read an article that said he has started 21 games since he 2017. If the stats are accurate then its a no from me.

2.) 28 May 2021 09:57:56
48 starts mate. 160 appearances 10 goals 13 assists for Burnley.

3.) 28 May 2021 12:04:05
Good player when fit plenty experience and great left foot and a free, might be a shrewd move,

4.) 28 May 2021 12:09:17
UI, those stats are for his entire PL career. According to the PL's own website, since 2017/ 18 when he joined Burnley he has been injured a lot and has only played 67 times in total (some as starts, some as a sub) and scored 3 times.
Anyway, let's not get hung up on stats, he wouldn't be for me. HH.

5.) 28 May 2021 12:41:09
career total app 274 27 goals. 87 times for Burnley 48 starts.

6.) 28 May 2021 12:43:10
Maybe a pay as you play would be interesting for Celtic maybe not the player? But I think that's the only way Celtic would and should be interested in him. Good player when fit but too injury prone.

7.) 28 May 2021 12:50:10
Yeah I think he's hadva tough time with injuries. Could be a gamble.

8.) 28 May 2021 13:40:13
years deal if proves himself improved contract.

9.) 28 May 2021 13:49:56
Pass from me as well Besty - time we gave our physios a break.

10.) 28 May 2021 14:16:05
Not good enough for Burnley then sorry not good enough for us. We need to aim fir better than that.
Prefer hungry young Scots who have proved it in our league or decent standard elsewhere to guys released from bottom 1/ 4 BPL teams.

11.) 28 May 2021 15:01:27
Probably the most risk free option Tony2Bhoy. I'd only have him as a 3rd choice LB back up and back up for LW would expect quality LB and LW signings on top of him still. If he has a decent season then sign him for longer.

12 May 2021 14:08:28

to snap up two players of hart and McCarthy's quality and experience for 1 million quid is a great deal.

United ireland

1.) 03 Aug 2021 17:42:47
Not overly impressed with the Hart signing, there is a reason he hasn't started a game in 2 years, too many mistakes in him.

{Ed007's Note - No it's not, it's because Burnley signed him to cover injuries to both Tom Heaton & Nick Pope and Spurs signed him to be back-up for Hugo Lloris.}

2.) 03 Aug 2021 17:53:20
So has he started a game then.

{Ed007's Note - He played 24 games for Burnley and 10 games for Spurs. Have you ever heard of a thing called Google? You should give it a bash, you'll find out all sorts of stuff.}

3.) 03 Aug 2021 17:55:22
mucyducky. he was at spurs last season and he started 10 games for them so i don't know were your getting he hasn't started a game in 2 year from. fresh start for him he has took a massive pay cut and signed a 3 year deal to me that looks like he is here to play football and be number 1 no last payday or winding down. he will get the size of the club and want to achieve success here.

4.) 03 Aug 2021 18:16:07
Fraser Forster found himself in the same situation at Newcastle and Southampton and he was brilliant for Celtic.

5.) 03 Aug 2021 18:23:27
Hart appearances
Burnley 2019/ 2020 none

Tottenham 2020/ 2021 none.

I can use Google Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Obviously not very well.}

6.) 03 Aug 2021 18:25:39
My god he's 34 and has a better cv than prob every keeper in Britain.

7.) 03 Aug 2021 18:32:56
Last season Hart played 10 games for Spurs and had 5 clean sheets I'm sure I read somewhere.

8.) 03 Aug 2021 18:45:19
You’re looking at the goals column Muckyduck.

{Ed007's Note - 😂😂😂

9.) 03 Aug 2021 18:50:25
Talksport presenters agree with me, no first team appearances in 2 years.

{Ed007's Note - Why am I not surprised you listen to that $hite - phone in and tell them they're wrong.}

10.) 03 Aug 2021 18:57:56
Whit he hasn't scored a goal for his last 2 clubs😲 Shocking.

11.) 03 Aug 2021 19:05:13
Can you read. 🤔.

{Ed007's Note - You are making an absolute t!t of yourself here 😂😂😂😂

12.) 03 Aug 2021 19:34:11
In the last two seasons Hart has not started a League game for either Burnley or Spurs. I think that is what MuckyDuck is trying to get at.

Hart has played for them both in cup competitions as correctly stated by everyone else.

In his last three seasons he has played a total of 34 games in all competitions which probably is close to 25% of the total amount of games he could have started if he was the No1 keeper. For a "mere" back up keeper I think 25% is a decent amount of starts.

His goal scoring record is, however, deplorable IMHO.

My only concern, and so should yours be, is will he improve our team? I think he can't be any worse than what we have got. I keep reading he makes blunders now and again. That is much better than EVERY game our keepers are currently making.

I'm Celtic, I believe.

{Ed007's Note - No he didn't mean that or he would have said that.}

03 Aug 2021 16:03:37
don't understand the fans slating the hart and McCarthy signings. both are quality and experienced. exactly what we need in the team.

United ireland

1.) 03 Aug 2021 16:15:07
Hail Hail UI. Great signings for Celtic. With such a young squad experience players is a must. And Hart and Mccarthy bring that. Hart is an improvement on what we have between the sticks.

2.) 03 Aug 2021 16:15:24
Well said mate.

3.) 03 Aug 2021 16:17:48
It seems to be the new breed of fans that have written players off before they start. Mabe if they had lived through the bad times they wouldn't have the entitlement attitude.

4.) 03 Aug 2021 16:29:16
100% agree UI.

5.) 03 Aug 2021 16:32:22
Agree with you Pud, all they have seen is success and not the bad days that I witnessed until Wim Jansen came in. Some folks need to back the players we sign and not right them off straight away.

6.) 03 Aug 2021 16:45:58
As long as they stay fit these are two superb signings.

I'll take a 'punt' on their experience and ability any day of the week over a couple of 'projects' from Eastern Europe.

The two of them have cost us approx 1M.

7.) 03 Aug 2021 16:55:47
2 great signings no doubt about it guys.

8.) 03 Aug 2021 17:36:20
will ad a lot to the squad and players of there experience will give the squad a boost.

9.) 03 Aug 2021 18:13:04
People were calling for more experienced and quality. Then we sign 2 today and people are still not happy. Anyone not happy have a look at the last few games we played.

01 Aug 2021 15:10:12
rio Ferdinand.

i always say the best atmosphere i ever played at was at Celtic just before the game fletcher and Carrick were standing in front of me just as we were kicking of the ref blow the whistle and the whole crowd erupted then they turned round and looked and me and went wow.

Owen Hargreaves.

best atmosphere alone was against Celtic i just remember standing on the pitch and one of the best things about the champions league is when the song comes on i was standing in the line up before the game i got Goosebumps i was thinking this is why you play football i would never thought Celtic park would have been that place but the fans there are just so special.

Gerard pique. there are no words to describe the atmosphere at celtic park.

XAVI. the stadium is a marvel the fans the people how they support there team it is a example for every team.

Cristiano Ronaldo. the celtic fans are incredible it is always great to play there.

Paolo Maldini. every professional footballer should seek to play at least one game at Celtic park i have never felt anything like it.

Zlatan Ibrahimović. it was such a beautiful awesome atmosphere its probably the best i have seen on the pitch.

Lionel Messi. I have been fortunate to play in some great stadiums in Europe with Barcelona but non compare to Celtic. the atmosphere there fans create make it a very special European night.

Franz beckenbaur. this is the most fantastic support in the world.

Steven Gerrard. the incredible thing was the people for an opposition player it is quite incredible i have not seen a better atmosphere from the grounds i have visited.

Alex Ferguson. anyone going to celtic park now is saying you've got to beat that atmosphere the energy the spend in there games. we would love to have a atmosphere like that. but

Andrea's Iniesta. the Celtic fans are very special and the club and players can be very proud of them they are the best I have every heard. i have played many games for barca/ spain but i have never herd fans like Celtic they were amazing not quite for a single second.

tito Villanova. the stadium was spectacular i have been fortunate to have been to many grounds but i have never seen anything like it.

Ben foster. the atmosphere at Celtic park i have to say its the best atmosphere i have ever played in my life it got in my head i was crapping myself all the way through the game the noise is nothing like iv ever herd before when there attacking there fans suck the ball into the goal.

feel proud when you read this lads because that's you they are speaking about. COYBIG there were many more i could have put up to many to get through.

United ireland

1.) 01 Aug 2021 15:25:00
It’s a pity that we now don’t have the team to match that terrific atmosphere.

Hail Hail

2.) 01 Aug 2021 15:47:19
I'd rather the said the atmosphere was pish and we gubbed them on the park.

3.) 01 Aug 2021 15:59:55
Can’t remember what Pedro Caxinha said 🤣.

4.) 01 Aug 2021 16:21:29
We will again, we'll be back.

Football without fans is great - Glasgow Polis 🤣.

01 Aug 2021 10:01:10
last nights stats.

19 shots

7 on target

possession 74 percent

passes 632

passing accuracy 90 percent.

wait till we make those signings and a few want away players are gone watch this team fly.

United ireland

1.) 01 Aug 2021 10:16:14
I agree about the possession and amount of passes (although most were sideways or back) , However, a good few of our final passes and crosses missed the mark; but Craig Gordon was the busier 'keeper. Only one of our front-men have scored so far, so as soon as we sort out a potent strike force, goalkeeper and decent back four - sorted!

2.) 01 Aug 2021 10:21:45
that's it mate people need to keep calm. we had a clear goal ruled offside and Halliday should have walked as well. i can see the signs there soon as players are in its going to take off.

3.) 01 Aug 2021 10:24:44
Did Eddy have of they 7 shots on target UI?
What's happening with Ajeti? He was playing regularly pre-season and was even made captain one of the matches (probably to try and boost his confidence) but now he's not getting a sniff. I doubt he's the answer, but I'd much rather have him playing as he'll put in the effort unlike Eddy and we never know he might come good. He did ok when jointing after all.

4.) 01 Aug 2021 10:45:38
No penetration from the wide areas and no final ball, eddy been mince but he's had heehaw to work with, ralstonbeen our most creative player, did a just say that deary me.

5.) 01 Aug 2021 10:48:00
big eddy is now a liability out on the park.

6.) 01 Aug 2021 11:48:37
The movement or the lack of movement it should be said is so bad its unreal. Sorry but that's on ange leaving him on again for the full game. Surely ajeti should have started or at least come on at half time. Ange played ajeti in all the pre season games and made him captain due to the way he worked in pre season if reports are to be believed. If ange continues to play that French clown then it falls on him.

01 Aug 2021 07:01:56
last nights result was disappointing we dominated the match but can see were lacking that bit of quality. you can see what the manager is trying to do he just needs those 3 or 4 signings in. i will be staying patient till the end of the window.

young Ralston has fight in him and played really well.

in victory or defeat i will call it out Halliday should have been off and we had a perfectly good goal ruled offside. people can say it does not matter but it 100 percent does. its not sour grapes because we were beat its the rules and causes you to lose vital points

everybody stay patient winning trophy's is so much better when your laughed at to start with.

its the same everywhere ange goes his first few games are not good results but when he gets his players in his teams really take of.

the Craig Gordon saves at the end show good goal keepers win points and that should be the next priority.

United ireland

1.) 01 Aug 2021 07:28:28
Goalie has always been my priority. I had hopes for Bain when he joined us but he is just not up to it. Never knew anything about Barkas but when they paid the money I thought there must be something - there isn't.

2.) 01 Aug 2021 07:41:03
agree mate you just need to look at what Gordon did at the end.

its up to the player himself to make sure he is fit no one can get you fit accept yourself you alone have to put the effort in to be fit you can only be coached so much by a fitness coach you know your limits.
