hearing big fletcher 1 year deal he wanted 2 year but been gave a 1 year deal.

United ireland

1.) 05 Aug 2020 20:42:28
I was speaking to a carpet fitter earlier who did my brother's mate's mate's carpets and he said that it was a 4 year deal and a guaranteed coaching role at the end of it

Plus fletcher gets free meals in the planned new hotel plus an Adidas discount on all celtic gear.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 20:53:55
Shocking signing if true.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 21:09:10
No chance.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 21:19:44
There was a time and a place for Fletcher at celtic n that was under Strachan when he left hibs, not know when he's past it and done nothing of note for years!

5.) 05 Aug 2020 21:46:33
He'll be good back up for year and different option good deal.

6.) 05 Aug 2020 22:08:09
Brutal signing sums up our board in 1 purchase. Pathetic kick in the teeth to supporter who backed the club finically.

7.) 05 Aug 2020 22:16:44
Good back up? He hardly scores a goal when he plays week in week out. Have we learned nothing from the likes of freddie Ljungberg or daryl murphy?

8.) 05 Aug 2020 22:39:51
This would be another large wage for nothing. the rangers are good at signing pensioners but its not our policy.

9.) 05 Aug 2020 23:35:01
Waste of a signing for me this one if it happens. No way does fletcher play ahead of edouard, klimala or griffiths if he’s fit and ready, and god forbid we were to lose edouard this window, if Lennon or the board think fletchers going to cut it they can think again.

10.) 05 Aug 2020 23:29:26
Club has record season ticket sales and this is the fans reward? F*#k me! Be better off keeping Bayo.

11.) 06 Aug 2020 01:25:27
Shankland would be a much better signing, or have been, or will be, depending on how much truth there is on this "rumours page ".
Someone of Fletcher's age and experience and maturity would be perfect in the middle of the defence, absolutely no need for him at the other end of the team.

12.) 06 Aug 2020 03:55:29
And this is what we get when the board hire a puppet, Yes man as a manager.
I'm just away to grab my hard hat before the screams of "We are all Lennon" begin.

13.) 06 Aug 2020 06:53:57
basically just to replace bayo i do not see what the panty wetting is about. he adds something different knows the league i think he will do well. we have our main striker and griff and klimala looks like he can score to so why go out and splash millions on a striker when there's other areas the money needs spent. wee have a strong squad as it is 1 or 2 signings is all that's needed.

14.) 06 Aug 2020 08:27:53
This signing smacks of a cheap alternative, how many fans could 100% say we will have eddy come the end of the window . If that happens I’m not convinced we have a forward line that will our score the Rangers . Kemar roofe was decent for Leeds, the Belgian lad had a 1 in 2 record in Belgium plus Defoe is always good for 10-20 goals for them of fit. I’d have thought after the Rangers threw down a gauntlet to us with two signings on one day, we would have reacted . Unfortunately signing Fletcher is not the reaction most fans were after . Griffs temperament at the minute is a bit up and down, this is a gamble that could get the board chased if we don’t get to 10. It’s obvious the Rangers are going to throw everything at it, we have to act in kind. On their day against us, they matched us, their squad strength was their weak point. They have recognised this and done something about it. Why are we so slow to react or in fact push on from a position of strength.

15.) 06 Aug 2020 08:52:05
How can the club receive record season ticket sales and will more than likely make record sales on the new home top and possibly the other tops too and then go out and deliver a signing like Fletcher. Does this board not want to win 10 in a row after all the investment the fans have put into the club the board should be going all out to support and fund the team to the fullest of there extent. There should be no make-do signings. We need proven quality in our team especially this year.

16.) 06 Aug 2020 09:19:49
Well that's torturous but possibly not as bad as watching us drag the process of signing someone else through til October. Better bloody sign the damn contract and prove most of us wrong.

17.) 06 Aug 2020 09:28:01
If we keep Eddy, move on Bayo and bring in Ajeti and Fletcher we're much better off up front than we were last season.
SF won't be on big money and would be a good option in a front two against the many 10 man defences we'll face over the course of this potential 60 game season.
As long as he's not the only forward coming in I'm happy with the move.

18.) 06 Aug 2020 09:45:26
Fletcher and carpet fitters? Hh.

19.) 06 Aug 2020 11:35:19
Why is everyone driving themselves into a frenzy over this? IMO This will be proven to be a shrewd piece of business. The big question is can he stay fit, if he does I've no doubt he will do a job.

20.) 06 Aug 2020 09:32:47
Ed can you please rubbish these reports? 🤣😭.

{Ed007's Note - Sounds like rubbish to me mate, rubbish made up on Tw@tter at that.}

21.) 06 Aug 2020 17:18:37
quinn because rangers sign 2 players wee need to splash the cash. our squad is strong and needs 1 or 2 signings. so if rangers sign a right back tomorrow wee need top go sign one as well. the manky mob signed 2 strikers because they had to. wee do not have to rush into anything we are the bench mark we just have to be calm and buy the 1 or 2 players without rushing in to it.

22.) 06 Aug 2020 18:40:02
Thanks Ed that's made my day reading that 😃👍.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

20 Jul 2020 06:24:19
ed some reports on here about us going for dragowksi is there any truth in this. seems a good enough keeper young to so sell on value.

United ireland

{Ed007's Note - I don't know where this has came from but there's no way we'll sign Dragowski. The player himself gave an interview last month saying he has no interest in leaving Fiorentina and even though he only signed a new deal until 2023 last summer the Italians are looking to give him another new contract.
Milan are monitoring Dragowski in case Donnarumma leaves as are Everton if Pickford moves on and Chelsea see him as someone who can challenge/replace Kepa.
I think the money involved would mean we had no chance even IF Dragowski was available.}

1.) 20 Jul 2020 11:20:35
Southampton were quoted 10 million for him.

{Ed007's Note - And that was last year so his price has probably went up from that.}

2.) 20 Jul 2020 11:37:09
I just can't see it. Especially with the other young keeper going on loan to France last season and a good chance he is going to stay there.

What about the dutch/ greek guy ed? We really interested in him?

{Ed007's Note - There has been preliminary talks with Vasilios Barkas's representatives but that was a couple of weeks ago now.}

3.) 20 Jul 2020 17:03:37
to good to be true then mate. disappointing with big Fraser left us in a bit of pickle scrambling for a keeper. im happy with bain just now and to start season but bit of quality between the sticks is needed.

{Ed007's Note - Bain's like a lot of players we have mate, he's good enough for the SPFL but if we want to make any kind of mark in Europe we need better.}

04 Jul 2020 09:51:43
celtic supposedly in for branimir kalaica from Benfica. is there any truth in this ed007 do you no much about him.

United ireland

{Ed007's Note - I don't know much about him at all but apparently we have registered our interest with Benfica so he could be an option.}

1.) 04 Jul 2020 12:38:54
thanks mate never really herd of him so don't no what to expect.

{Ed007's Note - I think it's a bit worrying that he's 22 - although his birthday was only on the 1st of June - and he's only made one appearance for Benfica's first team so far. They must have thought he had something though as they gave him a 6-year contract when they signed him in 2016, so if the price is right why not?
If Kalaica is a Hammond find from scouting the UEFA Youth League it could be a shrewd bit of business but will he be up to the standard of going straight into the first team or will he need some time to get up to speed?}

2.) 04 Jul 2020 15:38:57
that was worrying me a wee bit to ed007. i seen on wiki that one appearance he made for Benfica's first team he scored. do you rate Hammond mate.

{Ed007's Note - Overall he's done well so far but I'm worried that we don't seem to have looked at other GKs except for Barkas who aren't over the hill and who's better days are long behind them.}

3.) 04 Jul 2020 16:51:05
The GK chat has been worrying. It's like if we don't get Forster then we have to go for older guys who are out of contract and out of form. As if there aren't hundreds of keepers we could go and buy from other teams. Barkas is the only name I've seen where there would be a fee involved for a guy who's actually playing well elsewhere.

4.) 04 Jul 2020 17:02:13
good point mate. be good to go down the route of a strong keeper maybe in his mid 20s pay a good fee for him. love big Fraser to sign still. do you rate barkas i don't no to much about him.

{Ed007's Note - He seems to be well thought of by people who know more than me mate. I'm friendly with a GK coach - he's a massive Tim - and he thinks he'd be a good signing.}

5.) 04 Jul 2020 19:58:42
Maybe all this talk about the keepers is all the usual paper pish, we might bring in some one who hasn't been mentioned yet.

6.) 05 Jul 2020 10:05:31
would rather we went for the greek keeper and spent some cash than going down the joe hart route. i will be gutted if we go for him ed007.

{Ed007's Note - It'll be a HUGE gamble if we sign Hart. If Lawwell drops the ball this season there will no place for him to hide and his position will become untenable imo.}

22 Jun 2020 21:11:01
see were suppose to have had a bid rejected for Ivan toney 4 mill. what's your views on him lads I don't really know to much about him.

United ireland

1.) 22 Jun 2020 21:38:33
Top goalscorer in league 1 this season and one report said peterborough were after 15m for him. Don't know too much about him but considering we spent 3.5m on klimala in January who is similar in size I don't think we should be going after him if klimala is here to develop.

2.) 22 Jun 2020 22:34:29
Scores a lot of goals and different types of goals. Good hold up play. Doesn’t have the technical ability of Eddy but seems to come alive in the box. I would be happy to see him signed. Perhaps Strachan can use their relationship to persuade him.

3.) 23 Jun 2020 03:46:46
It wasn't us that had the bid rejected it was New York as per report:-

MLS side New York Red Bulls made a £4m bid for the player, but that was rejected and the club’s chairman Barry Fry explained the reasoning behind turning that offer down.

He said:

New York Red Bulls have plenty of money, but they didn’t offer us anywhere near enough for Ivan. It was £4 million with several add ons, but we will get bigger offers than that once our 2019/ 20 season comes to an end. Lots of clubs will be looking for a top-class striker and there won’t be any better than Ivan available, especially at what we consider a reasonable price for a player of his age who has already improved considerably and will improve even more in the future.

4.) 23 Jun 2020 07:22:49
Think this story is nonsense we already have 4 strikers.

5.) 23 Jun 2020 08:11:47
Maybe this story is nonsense but it’s not a bad idea to bring in another striker. Bayo isn’t up to much and needs a load or to be sold. There is a player there but it seems like he hasn’t settled in well or something. Klimala needs to bed himself in and if we are playing 2 up top this season we need at least 4 strikers who are able to score and rotate. Regardless of there ability. If Toney can be picked up for a smaller fee then it’s a no brainer. We need Eddys replacement lined up and we all know that.

6.) 22 Jun 2020 21:52:50
Don't think it was Celtic that made the bid. Was it not a MLS team.

7.) 23 Jun 2020 12:26:58
Hopefully it's just gossip. Especially at the figures being quoted.

8.) 23 Jun 2020 13:01:27
If we keep edouard for another year then we absolutely don't need to spend millions on another striker, let's be fair but bayo realistically hasn't kicked a ball for us yet so it's harsh to judge him when I think he's started less than 5 games and made a few cameo appearances from the bench, as for klimala I think he's bedded in now and if we keep the 2 up top they'll get plenty of opportunities, they're more than good enough for the standard of this league so unless edouard is sold there's absolutely no need to bring in another striker, the smart thing to do would to look at the areas that actually need improving and invest the money there, a goalkeeper, centre half or left winger is more of a priority.

9.) 23 Jun 2020 16:14:55
Bayo not upto much? Away you go! He's been hampered by injury since he arrived January 2019. Only played half season for his last club yet still ended finishing 3rd top goalscorer. He needs a run of games or loan spell like Christie did. definitely a player there.

10.) 23 Jun 2020 21:44:28
Bayo only scored twice. How does that make him 3rd top scorer Edouard, Christie, Griff, McGregor, Jullien, Forrest, Ajer, Johnston, Ntcham &Elyounoussi all scored more than him.

11.) 23 Jun 2020 22:15:33
Ice Man read my post again. Was talking about Bayo last club, the team we signed him from. He only played half a season yet still finished Slovakia league 3rd top goalscorer.

09 Jun 2020 20:18:22
ed 007 is there a possibility Celtic could try sign Melling this window or will they go with taylor and boli.

United ireland

{Ed007's Note - To be honest mate I don't know if we are interested in Meling but I do know that he has offers in France and in Turkey so £ could be an issue if we are.
For me personally I'd be delighted if we could unload Bolingoli and sign Meling though.}

1.) 10 Jun 2020 07:51:31
It’s a strange 1 he’s been very good anytime Iv seen him ad have thought he would have been signed by a bigger team by now.

2.) 10 Jun 2020 07:02:44
my thinking to ed boli gives me the fear with the defending side of things hese okay going forward. would rather replace him with meling. what do you think about using boli on the left wing get him further up field abit adds some options there.

{Ed007's Note - Not for me, get him out the door for as much as we can get for him. What if we continue with the 3-5-2 and we need Bolingoli to defend?}

3.) 10 Jun 2020 17:31:27
fair point ed he is awfull at defending. are wee looking to offload him this window.

{Ed007's Note - I've heard a few murmurs that Bolingoli himself and his agent aren't happy with the way things have went so far, whether that's a sign that he knows he needs to vastly improve or a sign that they think the move was the wrong one I don't know mate.}

4.) 10 Jun 2020 20:46:45
We can only judge on what we've seen so far but I think to want him out the door is a bit unfair without giving him a 2nd chance and a run in the team to prove himself.
There's been plenty of players the past few years who have had there fair share of chances and somehow been around a lot longer.

Not all signings are going to click straight from the off, I think bolingoli just needs a bit more coaching on the defensive side and a confidence boost, he at least deserves another chance.

{Ed007's Note - We need to get him out the door for as much as we can before he ends up like Kouassi, Hendry etc as worthless. After 28 appearances I'd hope that's been enough for Lennon to tell Hammond that he's simply not good enough and looks out his depth in games and if the rumours are true since he arrived, training.}

5.) 11 Jun 2020 04:33:31
I understand that point but they all can't be tarred with the same brush and I think it's unfair to say we should get rid of him before he ends up like kouassi and hendry, the difference with those 2 were that they were horrible practically any time they played, bolingoli has had a rocky start but to say he looks out of his depth is a bit premature.
I'm pretty sure there's been plenty of players in recent times who have been signed and got off to a slow start but turned out to be good signings, rogic, ajer, armstrong to name a few.

now its a conspiracy wee signed players during the time wee had our games cancelled. i agree its a shambles were signing players in the transfer window what club actual does that hahaha st Mirren forced to play there games with a good goal keeper from hearts.

United ireland

1.) 17 Sep 2020 09:41:38
I knew we had faced that 'keeper before - and like last night he was excellent - and probably better than their usual number one?

2.) 17 Sep 2020 10:21:15
These teams who sit back against us it's shocking for there fans to watch. It always seems to be there goalies have a blinder of a game. Then when you watch them in other games they are shocking.
Last night's borefest was bad at least have a go.

13 Sep 2020 12:46:38
st mirren fixtured been arranged for this week first free mid week date spfl corruption. st Mirren forced to play with 3 goal keepers out even though they have a goalkeeper to play spfl corruption.

im outraged by our club in going for a top brand like adidas were quality kits are made and sales at a record high.
we should have been going for a un herd of brand like castore and we can claim its the biggest deal out and better than adidas were the sizes are wrong and they fall apart in the washing and us fans are being fleeced once again.

who actual makes the decisions at our club adidas over castore its unreal no wonder we are on 9 in a row and going for a quadruple treble and smashing player sales records never seen before in Scotland and producing top quality players.

just think if wee went for castore and are skint and a new club unreal Celtic get it together and another thing making donations of hundreds of thousands of pounds to charity during C.V. lookdown is a disgrace when our rivals are delivering a few bottles of hand wash to care homes donated by another company. peter lawell better sort this mess out now. sometimes i wonder why i bother celebrating these trebles hahaha get it sorted now lawell.

It’s funny how they wore their old club Rangers tops for years because of their boycott.
The Lying King then told them Big Mike was paid off, ( another lie )
Which made the gullibles go out and buy all their old stock at full price.
To stop the club from paying Big Mike the bill for unsold strips.
Now they built themselves up for another almighty fall with bragging about how good Castore were.
I suppose you would define stupid by continuously falling for the same lies time after time.

2.) 09 Sep 2020 17:41:35
Who cares who supplies there strips. We have a brilliant deal that suits us. We shouldn't care about any sevco deal or transfers, aslong as we keep striving to get the best players we can they will never be a force again. They might win a game against us here and there. But our squad overall is far superior to theirs. They only way they will win the league is if we let them do it.

3.) 09 Sep 2020 18:49:33
that was the sarcasm im my post marco.

one sevie was having a debate with his son he was going for 5-1 against Dundee utd for the goal difference and his son wanted a 1-0 to keep the record going. how silly can the son be. goal difference is basically an extra point if it comes down to it suppose supporting a 8 year old club would do that to you.
