See a report tonight from big Sutton suggesting the LB from rosenborg is nearly done. here's hoping.

26 Jul 2019 08:58:48
Apparently West Brom have agreed a fee of £2.9 million for the boy sawyers from Brentford. I'm assuming we weren't really interested in this lad after all if we aren't prepared to match that bid.

1.) 27 Jul 2019 10:10:20
I think we go into transfers with the feelbgvthst works is working on 1980’s price lists. Baulking at £3m for a player who we hope to take us to another level is totally bollocks. It’s as if we deluberatly try to make qualification for the CL and moving so far ahead of Sevco as difficult as we can. We get in quality we have been promised it’s doomsday for them. If a player is to add that something special and is outwith our budget at £3m then it’s hard to see us getting Anyo e of class. We spent the same on Boli and he looks awful so far. It’s early I know but he just does t look worth half that and if he is to replace KT we have put another defender who looks a complete liability in a defence we all know has been needing sorted for years. Quality costs, if we have no intention of getting that in don’t tell us we are looking at it. Unless of course you say we just like looking but if they don’t accept Provy Cheques we move on. Sevco are teetering, let’s finish them. Qualifying for the CL would be a good start but we need the players now and the game bed we need won’t cone for a bag of shrapnel.

2.) 27 Jul 2019 14:29:27
We may have bulked at paying £3 m for a player who after further consideration we may have felt that we couldn’t bring this player to a new level . Or on close inspection we may have felt this player may not have fitted into our squad, little things can change manager, s decisions.

04 Jul 2019 09:41:04
Being reported Arsenal are apparently coming in at £22 million now for tierney. what part of £25 million are they not getting? Especially now if Napoli are interested, what makes arsenal think they can offer £22 million if the price is supposed to be £25 million? Surely Celtic being in control of this situation just chase arsenal once and for all, tell them the exact figure one last time and if they aren't prepared to meet that quote don't come back with anything less!

1.) 04 Jul 2019 10:34:10
They are doing what Celtic have done for years mate wanting the best price for the player they are buying .

2.) 04 Jul 2019 10:36:03
Well in case you missed the reports lately? Crystal palace have quoted 80million for zaha. Arsenal offered 40 million Seems they don't understand club valuations . I also read they bid 50 million for Harry McGuire after man utd had a 70 million bid turned down? Surely they can't be that bad?

3.) 04 Jul 2019 11:36:05
Del it’s what bussineses do I am not condonen it but it’s the way of the world everybody wants a good deal I also want top dollar for the wee man.

4.) 04 Jul 2019 12:14:41
It was reported when they made their first bid, that they only had a total transfer budget of £45 million, then they bid £50million for Saha,

5.) 04 Jul 2019 12:54:33
Wouldn't accept anything less than 30m for Tierney, people can laugh at that amount for a player from our league but celtic are entitled to demand it in todays transfer market. Tierney would handle it at any top club in any of the big leagues so when the likes of wan bissaka goes for 50m after 1 season with Crystal palace then it's only fair.
We need to keep our best players and players especially like Tierney who is one of our own only come around once in a blue moon. I understand we're a business at the end of the day and it's hard to compete with wages/ ambition etc and if a player wants to move on and develop themselves then we have to respect that but bids of 15m then this apparent 22m is a joke for a player of his potential.

6.) 04 Jul 2019 13:13:09
I agree with Greenclover 100%, we should be demanding a packet for KT.

7.) 04 Jul 2019 13:58:32
Kt has captained his country gaining 12 caps, has won 9 trophies, has champions league experience scoring and assists in the process and he has Europa league experience also.

It doesn't matter what league he plays in really at the end of the day he is undoubtedly a talented players that lots of clubs would knocking on the door for if they actually needed a player of his position. As long as we keep giving the rich clubs our players for cheap prices, they will keep coming for them at cheap prices.

It's about time the board stood up to these teams ( I don't know but maybe they are right now ) I would be setting the price at 35m for him regardless of what KT or anyone else said. You don't pay you don't get him simple as that!

Arsenal are trying to take the p**s.

8.) 04 Jul 2019 14:47:21
Lewis dunk £40million.

9.) 04 Jul 2019 16:53:48
That's what I'm saying Phliphlop and Arsenal offered 15 for a 22 year old with a wealth of experience, chase them.

10.) 04 Jul 2019 17:03:08
If you were to put a price on Andy Robertson at Liverpool, then that's what KT is worth. Not too far apart in ability, just robertson he's had the oportunity to perform at higher level.

11.) 04 Jul 2019 17:26:27
@duffandphelps true businesses go in with low bids to start negotiations but Arsenal are being very disrespectful. For a start the alleged 2nd bid of 17.5m plus 7.5m if they won EPL is a joke! They know they will never win EPL as they can't compete with Man City and Liverpool.

Personally I hope Tierney ends up at Napoli as Arsenal are at it.

12.) 04 Jul 2019 17:31:12
Take 25 plus nacho moreno? He’s 33 but still has a good engine on him, could get 2 seasons out of him easy and has plenty experience in Europe could even help the youngsters develop.

13.) 04 Jul 2019 19:19:49
Philtim I’d rather Tierney stayed and said am here for 10 in a row get it right f**kin up the lot ae yeez 😂.

14.) 04 Jul 2019 20:26:20
Hopefully Naka lol.

15.) 04 Jul 2019 21:44:20
do any of you really think that pistol pete and mr desmond can't and don't stand up to these other clubs, in our two we have very shrewed and tough businessmen.

16.) 05 Jul 2019 03:24:49
I’ve continually said on here I’d take no less than £30 million for tierney but £25 million seems to be the figure that sets the ball rolling ( too cheap in my opinion) with arsenal playing funny buggers, I’d like to see tierney stay, but if he’s to go I too hope it’s to Napoli, get it right round these EPL teams that think they’re the be all and end all.

17.) 05 Jul 2019 08:02:58
So if you were selling something say for £250 and somebody said £150 and you said no I’m looking for £250 you don’t think some people would then say what about £200 and you might say call it £225 and then sell?
If asking price is £25m and we are offered £22m there’s a decent chance a deal would be done.

18.) 05 Jul 2019 09:44:40
Arsenal are doing what Lawell has done for years. That strategy had seen us stall and go back. If Arsenal want to be contenders they really should not be looking at how we do stuff. Or did stuff. It seems that Peter tripped over the tin and somebody saw it before he could hide it again.

10 Jan 2019 07:24:28
Some reports this morning about the boy Andrew Gutman from the U. S possibly coming in. Apparently had a trial with rangers earlier in the season. With reports regarding Tierney and his hip problems, this one could be a possibility, not seen anything of this guy right enough.

1.) 10 Jan 2019 08:04:58
Not sure about this guy if They had a look and didn’t want him well why would that make him an ideal prospect for us?

2.) 10 Jan 2019 08:37:40
Reports say that they did offer him a deal but so did we.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 08:46:36
Chat I've heard Rich was they did want him but he is choosing us over them.

4.) 10 Jan 2019 08:52:59
Rich they offered him a deal.

5.) 10 Jan 2019 11:20:36
Good idea if young kt is Injured as long as he's good enough.

28 Feb 2018 09:46:02

Must say I'm disappointed there wasn't much news in the way of transfer activity yesterday, what is the script with this Portuguese RB? The other day it was sounding like the bud was accepted etc and yet the silence is deafening. And my god this goalkeeping situation is enough to drive any man insane. Talk of not wanting to pay £500k for hart, now Spurs reportedly want £1 million? Surely tae god if it's hart they really want them either figure could easily be met, let's be honest that is a position that is so desperately needing addressed it's ridiculous. come on desmond, get yer finger out yer hoop and start getting business over the line.

1.) 30 Jul 2021 07:27:57
Ange jmust be wondering what's going on and I should have stayed In japan, because this is a clusterf@ck, board of misers and the penny pinching has cost us again, they never learn.

28 Jul 2021 21:21:29
Let's get one thing clear tonight. The folk to blame for this exit are the board, starting from desmond right through the lot of them and to the chairman. They and they alone are to blame. I'm not going to lambast any player tonight, especially the young boys who've been thrown to the lions. That is the worst defence I can ever remember with the most inexperience I've ever witnessed any Celtic manager having to field, and that all lies directly at desmond and the board. They were quick enough in appointing lennon in the showers at hampden yae so so reluctant last year to get rid when it was all going tits up. to wait 4 months to appoint a manager who realistically could've came in almost instantly is sheer negligence. To let Howe lead them on a wild goose chase all that time again is unforgivable. And in true Celtic fashion, and to avoid any sort of protest etc, we'll go now and sign players no doubt tomorrow or in the next few days to try appease the ( what they see) as gullible fans. BOARD ARE AN UTTER DISGRACE.

1.) 28 Jul 2021 21:26:15
I’ll tell you what, I’m glad I’ve not given them a penny again this year. That’s the only way you’ll get any reaction from the people running the club. How many years have we been left scrambling for players before every summer window.

2.) 28 Jul 2021 21:53:28
Film 4 tonight 1105 about our last 12 months.

3.) 28 Jul 2021 22:11:03
Neither have I mate I haven't even bought the new tops as they ain't making me out to be a mug again. I can see what big ange is trying to do but he need the board to help him and at the moment they ain't and by that I mean they could have appointed him months ago and gave him a chance to see what and who he needs.

20 Jul 2021 11:25:38
Can someone explain why we've the biggest football stadium in Scotland yet we get the least amount of fans inside? Hampden had 12.000 at the euros, we get 9.000 tonight, and sevco are getting nearly 13.000 for a friendly against Real Madrid?

1.) 20 Jul 2021 11:50:10
It doesn’t make sense Garry.
Sevco are being allowed 8,500 fans next Saturday against Brighton.
Less than 24 hours later the number of fans being allowed jumps up 50% to nearly 13,000 on the Sunday against Madrid.
Then at the end of the month they’re being allowed 17,000 fans for the opening match of the season.
I would like to hear how the Scot. Gov can justify the attendance at Ibrox, is being allowed to increase by 50% for a match less than 24 hours later.

2.) 20 Jul 2021 12:12:28
Attendances at Wembley increased as the Euros went on, as time goes on attendances in Scotland will increase. What's the problem?

3.) 20 Jul 2021 13:09:13
You would think Celtic FC would be asking those questions really but again tumbleweed is in place for THE SEVCO to gain more advantage.

4.) 20 Jul 2021 14:02:36
The problem is malkybhoy Celtic are only allowed 9000 tonight whilst during the euros every game at hampden had 12000 yet our capacity is more. If we had 2000 against Preston, and it’s good enough for sevco to have 13000, why can’t Celtic, with a capacity of 60.000 not have more than the allowed 9000?

5.) 20 Jul 2021 15:01:56
2000 is a base limit, clubs can apply for increased attendances. Hampden was given special dispensation due to the Euros. Attendances will increase as time goes on. If your no happy phone the Government instead of coming on here with the made up conspiracy theories!

6.) 20 Jul 2021 16:41:00
Malkybhoy, at no point in my post have I suggested any such conspiracy theory, I simply can’t understand why during the euros hampden which holds around 50.000 got 12.000 fans in, we hold around 60.000 and tonight get 9.000 fans and next week sevco who hold around 50.000 are allowed up to nearly 13.000 fans…… what I’m simply asking is why when we have the largest football stadium in Scotland are we only allowed 9.000 fans when last month hampden had 12.000 next week sevco get 13.000 and in between we get 9.000? No conspiracy here mate.

16 Jul 2021 07:12:08
Apparently signing a striker from Japan, kyogo Furuhashi.

06 Jul 2021 07:48:12
Maybe just me but every time we're inked with a player ie the Croatian boy or hickey, it seems like it takes an absolute eternity to get any deal done. We all know we need strengthened so why can loads of other teams get business done and we're always dragging oor heels?

1.) 06 Jul 2021 08:33:49
This has been the case for a while now and I was hoping that when Lawell stepped down things would improve as we have lost out too many times before and as you say it's no secret where we need quality. Unfortunately the Auld Biscuit Tin seems to be alive and well?

2.) 06 Jul 2021 09:33:10
Maybe it’s me mate, I just get frustrated when we see other teams identify and sign players without much hassle yet we’ve got to drag it out panto style, things just don’t seem to be happening quick enough for my liking. We badly need new players, players that want to play for the club, we also need to get the state of play sorted with the likes of ajer, christie, edouard, ntcham etc. can’t stomach another season of watching half arsed performances. I’m not suggesting we should win everything or every game but the fight, the hunger needs to be on show this season, another season of lacklustre performances doesn’t bear thinking about.

3.) 06 Jul 2021 10:02:39
Just because it's in the papers doesn't mean its true for starters. Secondly transfers aren't sorted out over pint and packet of ready salted. There are lots of people involved who have to be in agreement.

4.) 06 Jul 2021 10:11:54
As you say there are 101 reasons why we should have learned lessons and identified areas of the club and playing side that needed urgent action. However, after it took us so long to get a new manager in place, whether it was circumstances beyond our control or not, we find ourselves chasing our tails and playing catch-up before a ball is even kicked. Hopefully this week will see a couple more new faces, but there is still the problem of the disruptive and difficult players that we are stuck with until a solution that suits all parties can be found and that could take until deadline day?
Meanwhile all we can do is trust Ange to use what players he assembles to the best of his ability?

5.) 06 Jul 2021 10:50:55
Guys much simpler solution Lawwell has HIDDEN chequebook and is refusing to tell McKay where it is.

6.) 06 Jul 2021 15:41:02
Or McKay is on the same bonus deal as lawell.

Auf, is he better than Taylor you ask? I’d say he shows more promise than Taylor. Let’s be honest and I know Taylor gets it stinking at times, but for one is Taylor a Celtic no1 choice LB? Not for me, and if folk disagree that’s fine, if nothing else doig would push Taylor…… Taylor has no competition at LB. bolingoli is rotten and after last years antics should never be near a Celtic top again.

To be honest we’ve no one to blame bar the board for us being where we are in these qualifiers. That said I do find it bizarre a player can get an initial 8 game world wide ban, sign for another club, play a couple of games then his hands continues? But then again it’s uefa, they do as they please. Is what it is.

If £5 million is the fee for doig we should pay it no question. As said above we’ve wasted £5 million on barkas, £5 million on ajeti, we’ve also squandered money on the likes of bayo, shved, bolingoli etc etc, the lists endless. This boy clearly has the talent and if he continues to improve we can only improve on that initial £5 million outlay.

If this is true then fault fully lies with midtjylland. Surely when signing him they’d know he’s carrying such a ban, and if it is true then they should get pumped into the conference league at best for the mess. Absolute morons.

Pity they weren’t so reluctant when handing over £5 million for barkas.

I find it hard to believe ange said we wouldn’t sign a keeper…… along with the whole defence, we’ve keepers that are the worst we’ve had in history……. Anytime I’ve heard ange speak he comes across very well, and he’d sound the complete idiot if he reckoned we didn’t need a new keeper.

I think the board will be fully aware how p. ed off the fans are come the Dundee game. The board might’ve got away with murder last season and thought it was bad when a few hindered turned up to protest. Wait till there’s 20/ 30 thousand plus entering parkhead every second week, they’ll soon know exactly how fed up the fans are. It’s quite simple, the board address the situation of the playing staff and get a team on the park that can compete things will soon move on, but if they continue to treat the fans with contempt, especially the fans digging deep the past two years ploughing in season ticket money and getting little in return then the board can fully expect fans frustrations to be heard…. I just hope if any such protests happen they are done in an orderly fashion, not those shambolic scenes of last season.

Buzz bomb, those stats are alarming yet not surprising…… we could create 20/ 30 chances per game, but if our attacking players ain’t finishing them it doesn’t matter a jot, but for me that stays at the other end of the park are more alarming. We will always lose more than we win with that current defence and keeper, so god only knows why it’s taking an absolute eternity to rectify that situation…… he’s another thing, today again we’re linked with this American CB at Spurs, now reports are he's in the final 12 months of his contract and Spurs want £5 million…. can anyone see us pay that for a guy in the final year of his contract? Yet at Celtic, we’ve sold ajer who was in the exact same position yet we demand a fee which will end up nearing £20 million…. We’ll lose edouard, again in the same situation and probably demand around £20 million…. so while we demand those fees and rightly so, if this CB fae Spurs ( who by the way I know nothing of) but if Celtic fancy this guy, and if proper homework has been done on him, then by god pay the bloody fee and get him up here.

The answer is it shouldn’t be hard to find a keeper better than we currently have…. that’s fact wether it’s hart or anyone else…… the fact barkas was on the bench last night tells me even ange has had it with him aswell, and speaking of the goalkeepers, I can’t remember the last time I saw our team sheet with 2 goalkeepers on the bench…. that alone tells me that had Bain got injured last night during the game ange didn’t know who was better out both on the bench…… absolute shambles.

{Ed007's Note - Nearly every team sheet we put out last season named 2 'keepers, it's became a common thing throughout football. It was part of the rules during the Euros,
when it was announced that national team managers could pick a 26-man squad for this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament, it remained a requirement that three goalkeepers had to be included in the match-day squad, which is only 23 players strong.}
