First pre-season game tomorrow and our incompetent board have still to strengthen our first team squad. ?
We are indeed "A club like no other".
Predictions of when we will eventually replace Kyogo? 18 months and still ticking.

06 Jul 2026 12:53:30
Imagine we replaced Kyogo with Kyogo ??.
06 Jul 2026 13:02:53
Throw in idah as well.
06 Jul 2026 14:51:04
And Kuhn.
06 Jul 2026 15:19:31
@ken - I remember us trying to do that last season but he did not want to come back.
06 Jul 2026 15:52:51
Is the Norway keeper a free agent now? Contract with Seville seemingly ended in June 26. No doubt he'll have many suitors now!
I was really impressed by their wee left winger, changed the game when he came on. With Benfica so probably also out of our price range.
06 Jul 2026 16:17:04
Duran is on his way, its a definite maybe ?
Apparently it looks like deal is on, and if so that's a good bit of business. Just need another 6 or 7.
06 Jul 2026 16:33:43
The Irish agm had Nicholson O'Neil and Wilson attending. Questions were asked regarding communications transfers etc. i'm amazed Beaker spoke in public*Feck knows what he said though*.
06 Jul 2026 17:17:58
I heard DD led beaker in at bayonet point.
06 Jul 2026 19:47:21
Hope they got more answers than we got at the agm.
06 Jul 2026 20:16:46
'looks like a deal is on. '. Mmmm?.
06 Jul 2026 11:32:50
Desmond Dynasty Scenario to ponder. DD weighs up his tenure as the main man. I've delivered 43 domestic trophies, including doubles and trebles. Celtic have most trophies bragging rights, club is very stable and future secure.
Despite success the fans have turned against me citing lack of ambition.
They are so ungrateful. I've had enough. I'll sell out.
Fans don't respect me so I'll sell to make the most profit. I will sell to anyone who wants to make a fast buck.
We will see how that pans out once the penny drops.

Let's hope so as his time is up.
We say thanks for building a great foundation for the next person to take us to the next level.
He is far too conservative and has failed multiple times to build from a position of strength and prepare us for the CL qualifiers, which has cost us lots of trophies and hundreds of millions in lost revenue.
What he done through his mouthpiece of a son at the AGM is unforgivable and it put the final nail in his coffin that day.
06 Jul 2026 14:20:39
Lots of trophies?, timing rotten, tone was tone deaf, said it to wrong audience, but I do wander what part was unforgivable,
Joe do you think a Scottish team can go to next level, and what is that level.
06 Jul 2026 14:57:50
Our next level is regularly getting to CL, only with consistent CL money can you safely start building for the next level, (something we should have done after 3 years worth of CL revenue) . This also raises the profile and value of all our players and will boost the player trading model.
Instead the Desmond philosophy is "we cannot afford to swing and miss". Instead they prefer not to swing at all and give our precious revenue to the tax man, rather than invest in the team or club.
@Jaa, you know fine well what Desmond said at the AGM and I recall you agreeing that there was no way back after it. So don't give me this revisionism.
06 Jul 2026 15:17:38
The AGM should have been an opportunity for humility. It should have been a chance to listen to fans' genuine concerns about how the club is being run, to rebuild broken relationships, to set out a clear vision for the future, to improve communication between the board and the supporters, and to begin closing the growing divide.
Instead, they did the exact opposite.
Rather than showing humility, they showed arrogance. Rather than listening, they walked away from the very people they are supposed to represent. The prepared speech and the abrupt closure of the AGM gave the impression that meaningful engagement with supporters was never part of the plan. Instead of rebuilding trust, they destroyed what little remained. Instead of presenting a vision for the future, they offered more of the same. Rather than opening the lines of communication, they retreated further into their silo. And instead of easing tensions, they poured petrol on the fire, deepening the divide between the board and the fanbase.
Ross Desmond's conduct only reinforced that impression. Publicly criticising the fans before leaving the meeting and refusing to answer questions was not leadership, it was an avoidance of accountability. Supporters deserved to be heard, not dismissed.
The AGM was a chance to reset the relationship between the board and the fans. It was a chance to show leadership, accountability and respect. They chose not to take it, and the consequences of that decision will only deepen the mistrust that already exists.
06 Jul 2026 15:35:16
We will never know if we don’t try. We don’t even make any attempt to be as good as we can be. As has been said many times, no one expects us to blow the budget, but either Shiite or got off the pan.
Treading water can’t last for eternity, at some point you will drown!
06 Jul 2026 18:15:45
Joe wrong jaa, I’m afraid I’m if the opinion what he said wasn’t that bad, it was the audience he said it to and angry tone it was delivered that was issue, had they let people vent, took Derry for a shocking last 2 windows (now 3) and broken that statement into several parts as replies to questions instead of effectively going on offensive they would have got away with that agm without the division it immediately stoked, he / they enraged the shareholders which drove an already angry fanbase into a frenzy, only my opinion,
Admittedly just had to read it back, yeah not much in it I disagree with, they completely omitted how bad the 2 previous windows where, after that the board has been a basket case of errors that no one can deny, and if the Desmond’s pull strings like letting br go then ongoing board failures is on them and even the people like me can’t deny that.
06 Jul 2026 18:21:48
Chasa I agree but I also think Scottish football plays its part, it’s so poorly managed and administered, with no foresight to future that Celtic are in a rut, keep winning as its bread and butter, don’t fall off a cliff doing it,
If sevvies don’t win league soon they will fall off a cliff guys, the risks of not being conservative as Joe calls it are staring us in face, no excuses when we’re paying tax bills over players and as poorly managed by board as we currently are, that there’s just no hiding from,
Il stay optimistic tho, some signings next few weeks, replacing leavers very important and a flurry at end of window, I feel only at end of window can a true opinion of window be given, I’m bit concerned we havnt had quicker signings lined up but not as peeved as some clearly are,
06 Jul 2026 18:55:32
Trouble is, everything this board do is designed to keep us in that rut winning the same things over and over with no intention of doing anything to step up. Eventually people will get bored and lose interest unless that is used as a position to build on. We can’t hide from Europe forever.
06 Jul 2026 19:08:30
WeeJoe needs a new drum for Christmas. What lots of trophies did we miss out on?
06 Jul 2026 21:35:07
I let him off lightly with that one green lol,
Truth is joes opinion is becoming more and more prevalent, I’m no where near his but my god this club don’t help matters,
06 Jul 2026 00:06:18
Any chance that we can get the Norway keeper? What a game he had against Brazil.
Agree3

06 Jul 2026 12:54:44
Again. Keep beating this drum but signing players based on World Cup performance is always a bad idea. It’s a completely different kind of game.
06 Jul 2026 15:51:15
Didn't we sign aj based on his wc performances?
07 Jul 2026 13:23:33
I have been more impressed by the Paraguay goalkeeper who at 26 is 10 years younger that the Norway keeper.
05 Jul 2026 23:04:56
What a joy to see Neymar's pus. Moosy faced wee ratbag.
Well done Norway! ??.

06 Jul 2026 12:34:55
Pulled of some cracking saves.
05 Jul 2026 14:51:23
Re the WC - some of us not bothered/ interested. Being old and no work in the morning I watch all the games. I relish the chance to see the best there is every 4 years. Mbappe, Kane, Messi and Co. Abundance of young talent who'll be the superstars of tomorrow.
I love Celtic but I am open to appreciation of football played at the highest level.
I watched Cape Verde, population of half a million people, and these lads gave Argentina one helluva game. France are superb. England are dangerous. Spain and Morocco? Class acts.

05 Jul 2026 15:59:33
The issue is that this Celtic board are in danger of making apathy the dominant emotion amongst a lot of our supporters. When older supporters pass on, the potential younger ones may find something else to focus on if this lot don’t change their attitude or leave.
Sorry for the doom and gloom but times change, unfortunately something our prehistoric leaders seem incapable of.
05 Jul 2026 18:35:01
I pointed that out as well chasaboy. My anger turned to apathy and then I chucked it. I also told my kids that I would not buy them anymore Celtic gear or take them to games. So they lost two generations in my case.
05 Jul 2026 19:23:38
Joe u havnt chucked it, uve chucked the games but your still pushing your opinion and offering your suggestions on what players are needed etc etc your a fan and always will be a fan, I wish ud admit you actually did watch them on tv last season (especially the end) it’s ok to be ragin, or have your opinion and to still support them, still watch them and still want them to win, but sometimes I don’t think you want these things as it goes against the narrative of everything is wrong at parkhead.
05 Jul 2026 19:30:07
That's the reason there's no atmosphere at the home games.
05 Jul 2026 20:56:22
I can assure you that I have not watched a single Celtic match for months and I now fill my weekends with other activities.
I still follow what is going on at the club but won't be back while the Desmond's are there and I will take every opportunity to criticise the people who are slowly ruining the club.
06 Jul 2026 00:23:37
I can offer an opinion it's only that. It's like losing someone close, very close at a young age. The thinking was being happy was disrespecting their memory. Took too long to understand the reality and grow.
I feel your pain Joe but so do many many others. It doesn't invalidate your feelings and it's not personal bud, we just all process pain in our way. Sometimes I understand its difficult so to see past our own. HH.
06 Jul 2026 05:15:39
Joe, asked you in another thread and either you dingied me or never saw. What’s your road back? What changes it all for you. An entirely new board or will you still be skeptical? If so, who? Let’s say DD sells tomorrow, are you behind us again? I’m genuinely interested to hear what needs to change for fans to get back behind us again.
It’s one thing to say get rid of MN, CM, DD, etc, but what’s the answer?
06 Jul 2026 08:56:35
The three you mention dictate the mindset and strategy of this club. Them gone would be a helluva good start.
06 Jul 2026 09:44:50
If the desmonds leave then I'm back. I don't care if the board leaves, as they are just Desmond's lackys and he drives the bus.
There will be no change while DD is there and his son burned his bridges at the AGM.
05 Jul 2026 10:27:17
Hey my friends Enrico think the money from sale of Palma could be used to bring sarrachi back to the club no?
This guy is good player you know.
Hail hail guys.

Nicholson offer was a loan deal?.
04 Jul 2026 21:35:48
I am hoping our Martin is working in the background, albeit slowly, with the recruitment team ready to bring in some new players.
I cannot believe he will allow DD to shaft him like he did the other managers with false promises
There are rumours coming out, but we fans need more than rumours we need new players soon.

04 Jul 2026 14:29:30
Karma for the zombies pushed through but staunch ?.
04 Jul 2026 15:43:24
? Why Does It Always Rain On Me ?.
05 Jul 2026 00:54:11
Why not have a green walk in reply to the orange walk?
05 Jul 2026 09:07:15
Coz in the main, we’re not as pathetic and bigoted as them ?.
04 Jul 2026 12:10:15
League is in the bag as Ralston offered new contract. I reckon we don't need to sign anyone now. ?.

04 Jul 2026 12:54:32
Celtic offer a new contract to a player they know to be a dependable backup, gives full commitment, represented Scotland in World Cup matches. You find this worthy of sarcasm?
04 Jul 2026 12:58:55
Stop eating families.
04 Jul 2026 13:02:17
Downsizing we aren't a serious football club.
04 Jul 2026 13:22:55
He is a limited player and likely going to block Donovan progressing.
04 Jul 2026 15:00:07
Im actually in agreement weejoe. First the ox, now ralston? Do the board not see last season was nothing short of a miracle? Read an article claiming ccv will be like a new signing when he returns! And will probably be paraded as one.
After January's shambles, you would have thought a transfer plan would have been drawn up and acted upon when the season ended.
04 Jul 2026 15:48:38
I would play Donovan first after AJ. He has so much potential. AR has peaked and is limited imo and if that is the level of the clubs ambition, we are in trouble.
04 Jul 2026 15:49:06
That would involve foresight delbhoy. Something our board are severely lacking in.
They move slower than the titanic when it spotted an iceberg. For example: Kyogo sold 18 months ago - no replacement found. Kuhn sold 12 months ago, no long term replacement found. Idah sold 12 months ago, no replacement found. Paul tisdale sacked 6 months ago, still no replacement found. Peter Lawwell leaves 6 months ago, still no permanent replacement found. Wilfred Nancy sacked 6 months ago, still no long term replacement found.
The people who run our club are a joke and need to step aside and let competent people with vision and foresight take over.
04 Jul 2026 15:51:45
I take it all back as the evening times have referred to ralston as a world cup star. ?.
04 Jul 2026 15:54:55
Just a poor decision for me. Ralston is not reliable he was the 4th best right at the club last season and 3rd as it stands this year.
Waste of money in my opinion.
As far as Scotland is concerned being a defender in that squad is more about a lack of better options than his ability.
04 Jul 2026 16:01:23
I’m with Joe also. Ralston is a good servant but never has been good enough for Celtic. I always chuckle to myself as each season passes that he has had tremendous fortune over the years by being in the right place at the right time!
However I am ignoring the bun troll in this reply chain it should be noted!
05 Jul 2026 02:43:41
369Bhoy, I called this character out last week, it's obvious that he's a troll, and I outed him as one, obviously one of the Govan Gullible's, nice to see that it just wasn't me that noticed it.
05 Jul 2026 11:35:47
Curious to know why he’s a troll? Would a troll not say the opposite to a club downsizing?
Anyway, he did offer to meet you for a drink to discuss the troll comment.
That should confirm your thoughts ?, let us know how the drink goes ?.
05 Jul 2026 18:12:23
May our own Tony have a great season as a reliable back up. Tony Ralston, he's one of our own.
06 Jul 2026 01:35:14
Bishopton 1888, he offered me a drink? I never saw that, probably asked 3 weeks after me calling him out, as an ex boxer it probably wouldn't have turned out well for someone getting wide with me, funny that it's not just me who thinks that about him, all the regular lads and lasses on here are decent, we don't wait untill days later putting up post's that no one will see, keyboard warriors thinking that they're hard, the decent ones on here debate football.
04 Jul 2026 12:00:13
Another day passes and Celtic have failed to strengthen the team since last season.

04 Jul 2026 11:32:58
Will our formation change this year, I’d like to see 4222 with a decent striker and a mobile one off him, 2 deep mids and 2 roaming mids, 2 flying rb and lbs where deep mids offer cover, ( right out champ man 1998 )
Agree2

04 Jul 2026 12:00:54
Bring back John Barnes as that is his formation?
04 Jul 2026 12:07:41
Celtic will need 4 strikers in our squad to consistently play that formation throughout the season.
Time to get the finger out.
04 Jul 2026 15:55:55
Hopefully it does and we get away from the torrid sideways and back passing.
