I see that The Grapes bar in Paisley Road West, Kinning Park is changing hands, and as it is a well known sevvie pub they are changing name to SOUR GRAPES.

Winston and Tam ?.

Not long back from a pleasant lunch with Mrs T and my two ex bears (they helped family when I was in hospital)
But you KNOW I could not let the Lisbon Anniversary pass, so I saw two wee (Dinky toy cars Hillman Imps) younger posters ask ED007, they were obviously Green and were both in nice presentation boxes which I gave to both ex bears who took it in good spirit.

Why the Hillman Imp, I hear the younger posters ask, again ask ED007, well in 1967 a car cavalcade left Celtic Park to travel across Europe to get to Lisbon about 200 cars left Glasgow but sadly a lot never made it, which is part of our Lisbon folklore as it generated many wild stories and adventures, as ED007 can testify lol.

{Ed007's Note - Cheeky sod ?? The Hillman Imps were actually were actually manufactured at the Rootes Group factory in Linwood.}

Agree2 Disagree2

25 May 2026 18:21:28
There you go ED007 even the cars all came from a 20 mile radius of Glasgow as did our Lisbon Lions, I think the furthest away was Bobby Lennox from Saltcoats.

{Ed007's Note - ????

25 May 2026 19:41:45
Ed ma auld man worked in there when it was called that used go to the Christmas parties.

{Ed007's Note - I found THIS earlier when I was looking it up, an interesting read. I bet your dad has some stories from the place... I had an uncle from out Knightswood way and he had a pal that worked there - my Uncle John swore his pal had stole a car a piece at a time and they built it in his garage over months ??‍♂️?

25 May 2026 20:11:52
My grandad had a green Imp and my dad had a yellow Anglia.

Both died around the same time and we simply pushed them into the local refuse site and over the top.

Sad day.

{Ed007's Note - ??? Back in the days when you could burn fridges and old motorbikes up the park to keep you warm with your carry out ??

25 May 2026 20:18:58
God I miss those days.

{Ed007's Note - And look how shit the world and society are now ?

25 May 2026 20:36:23
Life was definitely much easier back then mate.

{Ed007's Note - I even spoke to Rangers fans back then! ?

25 May 2026 20:48:46
ED007 I heard stories like that years ago too, guys taking out car parts over 5 years to build their car, or putting them in their car boot and simply driving past security guards.

But you KNOW I have a related joke.

The security guards were convinced one employee in particular was stealing, but every time he came to exit gate all he had was an EMPTY wheelbarrow, this went on for years guy walking past security guards with an empty wheelbarrow, finally guy retired and at his retirement part the guards all said "right Jimmy we know you were stealing from factory, you are out now so please tell us what you were stealing all those years" Jimmy smiled and said "WHEELBARROWS".

{Ed007's Note - ?? Grandad from Only Fools and the briefcase thief...

25 May 2026 20:52:15
That's because you gave everybody brain damage with the fumes from your drunken arson vandalism.

{Ed007's Note - Hence me talking to Rangers fans....

25 May 2026 21:00:31
Great memories Ed ??.

{Ed007's Note - ???

26 May 2026 06:39:29
I remember taking my youngest daughter to Celric Park when she was 7 or 8 ( she's now 38) and we were walking back towards the city centre.

We were just passing and electrical wholesalers when the alarm went off.

A guy came out carrying a huge tv un his arms and ran onto the grass area opposite chased by 2 security guys.

Well I say chased, it was followed as they were scared to tackle him in case he dropped the tv.

He ran a zig zag line across the grass area towards a housing estate, stopping occasionally to kick out at the security guys, 1 of whom was overweight and fell back.

It was the funniest site ever and seemed to go in forever.

The only thing missing was the Bennt Hill theme music.

I remember my wife taking my arm and saying 'don't leave them to it' but I had not intention intervening, I just thought the b*lls of the guy, good luck fella.

Today, the Poluce would have arrived, tazered him, gave him a few complimentary kicks in the ribs and locked him up.

Johnny Cash song ‘ one piece at a time ‘ everyone’s at it.

25 May 2026 15:58:05
What about keeping MON as manager and bringing in John McGlynn as 1st team coach?

I know we already have a number of coaches in place but could this combo work?

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2026 17:55:10
MON and McGlynn is fine by me, but what about Sean? Does he fit in?
We know MON has family with grandkids living south. His two spells this season were probably ok but over the whole new season will he miss them? Of course he will. Would it work? No idea.

25 May 2026 19:36:10
Jesus mother of Joseph. seriously? And. SEAN? Spell his name correct at least!

25 May 2026 20:08:52
Sean is in line for the Head of Football Operation job apparently.

{Ed007's Note - ??

25 May 2026 20:12:38
Why do we suddenly want McGlynn?

25 May 2026 20:38:33
I laughed when I read that also Ed.

They might find him a role but that job is way above his skillset and in any case will they fill that role.

{Ed007's Note - That's not what I'm laughing at MIP It's feckin' SHAUN!!!

26 May 2026 08:17:43
?????.

25 May 2026 12:50:15
Hi Edd hope you are well.

I posted a question on the transfer window but it’s now saying deleted.

{Ed007's Note - Was that what it was mate, it was held for me but I couldn't access it so just deleted it, sorry.

Hi Edd, thanks for all you do for the site.

When does the transfer window open and have you heard anything on potential moves inward?

Thanks mate ???The international window opens on Monday June 15th. I've not really heard anything apart from the rumours that are out there already.}

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2026 15:11:46
Ok mate.

Get the finger out and provide some rumours to keep me going?.

{Ed007's Note - Yes Sir! ?

25 May 2026 11:04:19
Happy Lisbon Lions day.

There truly is a Fairy Tale about this club ???.

25 May 2026 15:02:22
Celtic also clinched the Treble Treble on this date in 2019,with an Edouard comeback Double against Hearts.

{Ed007's Note - And Star Wars was released today in 1977 ??

25 May 2026 16:14:48
I am putting my hand up here, I have never watched any of them but have decided I am going to binge watch them to see what it is people like about them.

{Ed007's Note - Go for it ????

25 May 2026 18:29:44
It was Mark McGhee’s 10th Birthday when Celtic Won the European Cup.
Big 70th Next Year.

25 May 2026 10:59:02
Sevco could have had shankland for nowt last season now they've a fee to pay abs he's a year older,

{Ed007's Note - He's still going on a free mate, his fancy 3-year deal Hearts announced last year was actually a 1-year deal with a 2-year option, with Shankland having the option.}

Agree1 Disagree2

25 May 2026 11:20:07
Odds-on he would end up at his favourites and such an easy transition between 'title rivals'. Imagine if Celtic went in for Braga ?.

25 May 2026 13:42:06
Didn't realise that Ed cheers ?.

{Ed007's Note - ???

25 May 2026 07:38:32
I previously mentioned my Wife’s 60 Year Old Friend had £1K on Celtic to win the league.
She watched the Hearts game in our house.
After the game she said she got 5/ 2 which I reckon was the best Odds available throughout the season.

Fair play to the Bookies who had Celtic as favourites for the majority of the season although we had our troubles and at times it looked unlikely.
A couple of times we went out to 3rd favourites and that’s when the 5/ 2 was the best Ladbrokes Odds I noticed.

25 May 2026 11:23:46
kudos to both you and Ed (among a significant minority) who stuck by their guns and backed The Hoops all along. I was more hopeful than confident amid all the obstacles and self inflicted damage. H H.

{Ed007's Note - ???

25 May 2026 14:01:51
I chucked weeks ago. Hands up! No one loves the Hoops more than me, but just couldn't see it! Shows you how much I know! HH!

25 May 2026 14:57:47
I had 3/ 1 buzz with bet365 At the time both Celtic and. Man City were 3/ 1 each.

{Ed007's Note - You do know that coming on here bragging about winning bets means I automatically get 10% - that's why Timbo always punts losers now ??

25 May 2026 18:33:53
I expected better internet Odds elsewhere because Ladbrokes and William Hills probably give the worst Odds.
I hope you had a single Steff.

25 May 2026 07:30:17
Today being a Bank Holiday Mrs T and I are taking my 2 ex bears out to lunch as a thank you for all their help in taking Mrs T and ghirls to visit me in hospital and then helping me get to all my hospital appointments.

I have have known both of them for years and had some good banter over the years.
Not all sevvies are bad, my ex bears are two of the good bears.

25 May 2026 08:48:59
2 of my best pals are cream buns as well and the banter is great no bigotry they just hide from me for few days?not seen them in years?.

25 May 2026 10:15:05
I too have many Sevvy friends, good guys all. My Son-in-law is a season ticket holding Jambo, who was distraught when falling at the champions feet on the last day.

I would have had sympathy for him given how rare an event it would have been but after the fall out from the last 2 league games, that scummy club, (and their blinkered supporters) have shown they deserve nothing!

In other news, it appears we are trying to low ball Boca in pursuit of Saracchi.

Will we ever learn?

25 May 2026 11:03:52
I lost my best two pals last year within 8 weeks of each other. Both to cancer and both were sevvies.

One was a UB level sevvie and the other just a guy who supported his team.

Both were really great pals who I miss no longer having banter with.

I miss the messages before and after games.

25 May 2026 14:06:13
Thing is, guys. this is what sets us apart. you won't get the same nice words when you pass away.

24 May 2026 20:40:12
Sporting Lisbon had a good and then horrendous day today.

They were playing the Portuguese Cup Final in the Estadio Nacional and at Halftime they would’ve found out they had Qualified for the CL Groups because Aston Villa finished 4th in the EPL.

But then Sporting lost 2-1 AET to 2nd Division club Torreense who I’ve never heard off.
Torreense’s ground only has a capacity of 2,400 and their only other honours was winning the 2nd Division in 1955 and the 3rd Division in 2022.

That shock result means that Torreense go straight into the Europa League at the expense of Sportings rivals Benfica who now have to win 3 rounds to reach the Europa League Groups.

Just watched a brilliant SM interview where he describes what MON does and what he is about.

SM said that without MON coming back there is no way we would have won anything. He managed to get the club back together, pulling one way.

There is so much respect there.

MON leaves the coaches to coach, Gavin and a another do the outfield players and Woods and a another do the keepers, and him and SM do the man management side.

The tactical side is down MON.

SM said that Jock and the Lions are up there to aim towards but MON is up with or just below them, that is how well he has done and how highly thought of he is.

It is a cracking interview.

25 May 2026 07:24:48
ha ha Buzz I do not think the Sporting fans will be too upset as it makes their city rivals Benfica task of qualifying for Europe even more difficult.

24 May 2026 19:20:59
With the exception of Wimbledon I hope I never see tennis balls bouncing about ever again. Never did any good except introduce the 'Cringe Factor'.

Totally agreed with Martin's quote about the ball throwers needing their heads examined.
