Brilliant Bhoys! ??
Loving big Høgh, he's a real pain in the ass and will just continue to create chances for Duran playing off him.
A great win to take over to Austria.

Signings have been class.

19 Aug 2026 21:58:05
Duran will steal the high lines but special mention to Donavon and Baur. In fact, the whole team played magic.

Great result against a good side no failures but wow Duran is special, Donovan was outstanding, but there's work to do on Tuesday wouldn't underestimate them next week.

How long we going to get to keep him for, this isn’t a front 4 clicking yet either, you can see little moves and passes failing that you know at some point they’ll pull off, they should all get better.

19 Aug 2026 21:27:47
Eff me sideways, we've got goals in this team!

We just need to get a defensive midfielder and we will be set.

Baur played well as did Hogh but Duran looks a great find.

We were lucky at the back warly on as they had so much pace and power but hopefully we will get there.

We need the first goal next week.

19 Aug 2026 21:57:10
Great goals against a good team - still got loads of work to do away from home - they will get goals.

19 Aug 2026 22:30:47
Agree baur looked to have great quality on ball but off it left calmac really exposed.

Hassan looks like he will skin people for fun ( not sure hel fancy st Mirren or Dundee away ) but he doesn’t look to have much interest in helping a rb out.

Thank god we look to have goals in us as we definitely will ship some, is trusty n scales the better back 2?

All in all a great night.

Big lad at the back for LASK, Xavier Mbuyamba was linked to Celtic a few years ago when he was at FC Volendam.

Hogh is the new Chris Sutton, can score, drag defences all over the place. Knock downs etc. But like then it will allow small quick attackers ( benji and durran? ) to open teams up n score for fun.

Hogh is a proper number 9, he is strong and has great control. He brings us onto opponents.

Hussan came on and from the first minute went at their left back. He looks as if, once he gets up to full match fitness, he will scare the life out of defences.

A special word for Donovan, he got caught out in the first minute but after that he was very good.

AR came on and gave their winger room to throw crosses in but he is not match fit.

CM played well as did Nygren.

Overall a good performance but a couple of quality additions and we will take some stopping domestically and will trouble teams in CL.

Edd is there any reason why were playing at home 1st with us being the seeded team. a think its an advantage playing away 1st only uour the cream buns ?.

{Ed007's Note - We were drawn first.}

Aw right so they are seeded as well sorry didn't realise that mate.

{Ed007's Note - No mate. It's never been a rule that the seeded team plays away first in the CL qualifying rounds, that rule only applies in Round of 16 and Knockout Play-offs, the seeded teams (higher league-phase finishers) play the second leg at home. }

19 Aug 2026 16:01:22
In the Champions Path draw there were 5 seeded clubs drawn against 5 unseeded clubs.

Only AEK will been fortunate enough to be playing at home in the 2nd leg from the 5 seeded clubs.
Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb, Bratislava and the club that eliminated Red Star Belgrade in the 3rd round, will all play their 2nd legs away next week.

19 Aug 2026 16:30:28
Thanks guys, hope all goes well tonight.

19 Aug 2026 20:52:35
Ed, says it all ???.

19 Aug 2026 14:43:24
CelticPlayer, is it worth it? What live games do you actually get? If I were to subscribe today would I be able to watch the game tonight? Anyone know much about it? Bought Sky Sports this year as sick of terrible dodgy streaming sites. Can't justify buying TnT subsubscription solely for European football. Anyone any suggestions what my best opinion may be?

{Ed007's Note - Tonight's game is on Amazon so if you have Amazon Prime you can see it "free". But if you want to see every Celtic game you can't without going down the dodgy route - and we're not allowed to talk about that.}

Our 2nd leg next week is on Amazon Prime.
They get first pick of a Tuesday match throughout the playoffs and group matches and they have picked our game next week.

{Ed007's Note - Is that what it is, it was Grotbags that said to me, sorry about that. Cheers Buzz ?

I have had Celtic TV and now Celtic Player for years due to not being able to get to games.
The only time you get to watch a game live if you are in the UK is pre-season games.
I have it as you can get a full game replay from 10pm depending what competition it is as it could be midnight.

It's been a godsend for me over the years and worth the £50 or £60 a year as it is now.

19 Aug 2026 17:29:31
Cheers for the reply guys much appreciated. I do have prime and tried to watch a few games last season and kept directing me to TnT subscription. Pretty annoying and down right scandalous that you need multiple subscriptions to watch games from a certain league. Didn't even realize till after I'd signed up to Sky sports that it doesn't even have rights to all the games. And @ £25pm for 2 year lock in subscription, or £35pm for cancel anytime, it's a wild discrepancy. Then I'm sure I read or heard, Sky Sports in, I'm sure some Asian country, will give you access to every single Premier League game while we only get select games.

Netflix needs to get it's arse into gear and buy the rights to the big leagues. Scottish league by definition probably doesn't fall into the "big league" category, but was well watched last season, going by data recently released. Pretty sure it was above the Belgian league for average viewers. Realistically, something like that could be a game changer for the league, money wise.

{Ed007's Note - Ed001 stays in Dubai and was amazed that we had got into trouble for discussing streaming games, he couldn't believe it was still impossible to watch any game you wanted and illegal to go and find ways to do it. I'm pretty sure the US is the same as over there too.
We need to get rid of the the '3pm blackout' rule in the UK - that would be a start at least - before looking at the best way forward.}

19 Aug 2026 18:14:26
Had to google the 3pm blackout rule as I'd never heard of it. In the digital world we now live in, its truly outdated. Reading it was from the 60s to encourage fans to attend lower league matches. Surely more money to be made for clubs by giving them the rights to televise every game.

{Ed007's Note - The entire football broadcasting situation across the UK needs looked at, let's be honest it's always been geared towards England but since Sly came in Scotland has became nothing more than an afterthought.}
