EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion, But I would have to strongly disagree with alleged DD quote the The present Celtic squad is as good as if not better than any other squad in the past 25 years for Europe, and asked about dose he think the present squad is better than the team that got to the 2003 Europa league final he said that he thinks the current Celtic squad would beat them.

22 Mar 2024 12:31:29
Where did you read that quote?

22 Mar 2024 12:41:32
Sorry tony, following on from my last post, i just found the srticle regarding the quote you are talking about and its from an interview he did in 2020.
I think whoever is printing it now is trying to cause a bit of bother.

22 Mar 2024 13:39:02
It’s not like them to do that Jonbhoy.

22 Mar 2024 14:05:57
I must have got it wrong I thought the quote was from this week .

22 Mar 2024 17:59:50
JMHO but I think the current squad would beat the 2003 team, they are all in their late forties now.

22 Mar 2024 18:26:34
Even then he was wrong. MON team would wipe the floor with 2020 team.

22 Mar 2024 21:36:57

So he thinks the team that lost 10 in a row was better than team with larsson, Sutton, petrov, Lambert, Lennon, hartson, Thompson? ?.

Scotland U21s are tonight playing their 6th match this season and no Celtic players have featured in any of their games.

Ben Summers on loan at Dunfermline, featured last season but hasn't been involved this season.
Ben has been back playing with Dunfermline since January.

I noticed ex Celtic youngsters Doak and Morrison have previously been involved.

Buzz

A sad indictment on the club from a youth development perspective.

Board selling us Barrowfield as the dream and part of some strategic plan. A bit of land they tried to sell off during the C.V. that’s how much of a long term strategy it is.

If only they hadn’t made the proper investment at Lennoxtown and had given Tommy Burn’s the full size indoor pitch he requested.

21 Mar 2024 14:58:08
Just seeing that the so called audio for Rodgers hearing has got lost well someone must have copy either sfa or broadcaster if I was Celtic I would have Robertson, Beaton and Crawford appear personally St the hearing along with sfs and see who will commit perjury first and I would also have whoever commentate on sky because the can here conversation time to get to the truth.

Agree6 Disagree0

21 Mar 2024 16:35:27
Yep, the audio is heard by sky broadcasters. Get them in and see what was said. Do all the stories match up?

21 Mar 2024 19:14:00
No audio no case to answer, then instigate a fraud complaint, involve UEFA, FIFA and CPS for a match fixing’s complaint. Let’s “burn their playhouse down “!

21 Mar 2024 19:34:26
I don't think it has got lost.
The guys on ACSOM were discussing the meeting and PJ Dykes said "Can you imagine or what would happen if the SFA came out and said the audio has been lost or deleted"
From there the rumour has been going about that this has happened.

21 Mar 2024 21:00:23
Crawford Allen up to no good perhaps.

21 Mar 2024 21:44:42
If Celtic board have any balls this is an open goal to go to town on the SFA, if this goes suddenly quiet and amicably sorted the only conclusion is there is something seriously rotten with Celtic fc. There is so too much crap out there as irrefutable facts that anything less than some seriously immediate changes to personnel at the SFA can only be seen as collusion from our end. If nothing changes now, it never will and we are a major part of the problem with Scottish football. And the future is a continuation of the scam.

Morning Celts
I come across young dembele while snooping about on transfermarkt and noticed his stats at blackpool. Seems he's finally finding his feet. Has hit 19 goals/ assists so far this season in 41 games. League one isn't great but at 21 its pretty good stats. Im not exactly sure why he left whether it was bad attitude or bad advice or maybe just rejected any contract from us. Always had talent and with our poor form from our front men makes me wonder how he would have faired if he was still here.
It also made me think about any other lesser known ex celts that have quietly done well since leaving us and i came across lewis morgan who has done well in MLS currently at NY red bulls. Despite a bad injury which sidelined him for most of last year has hit 20 goals in 46 games for them. Still only 27 and although he was given chances for us it never clicked for him and perhaps another where the jersey was too heavy. There was always a player there.
Not an ex celt but one we were heavily linked with when he was a kid that i came across is ryan gauld who also plays in the MLS and captains Vancouver. Has done really well with aprox 50 goals in his last 150 odd games from AM. This makes me think about how we have severly missed a goalscoring AM in recent years. Turnbull chipped in with a few but was otherwise poor. Rogic was good and has his moments but too inconsistent.

Any one else know of any lesser known ex celts that have went on and done well?
Also what good goalscoring AM have we had in the last 30 odd years? Only 3 or 4 come to mind for me
Thanks for the read lads.

21 Mar 2024 13:27:11
DerryTim - Not sure about lesser Celts going on to do well, but I am sure that every successful Celtic team has had one or more very good attacking mids with a high goal return.
These guys are worth their weight in gold when strikers misfire and the AMs rescue the points. I feel it is essential to have such players in the squad.

21 Mar 2024 22:36:48
West Ham apparently interested in Dembele.

21 Mar 2024 10:30:29
If we win the league and Cup will Rodgers still be our manager next year? Answer has to be yes for me . Some mates feel differently what'd others thoughts? Hire top European coach?

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Mar 2024 11:22:50
I will say yes as no one could do any better with the players he has been provided with. If we were to seriously invest in the playing squad in the summer then i would like us to go with a young coach that's won trophies and has done well in european competition. I do think rodgers will still be here in the summer.

21 Mar 2024 12:46:52
Hopefully with Hatate and Mcgregor back will take bit pressure of O’Riley and get best out him him again for end of season.

21 Mar 2024 12:49:11
Hailhail. So much for your loyalty. BR has done well.

21 Mar 2024 13:32:57
The same loyalty the new manager gave to the club and it's fans in his first spell?

21 Mar 2024 13:47:00
He's here win or lose. If we have CCV Calmac Hatate Oriley Kyogo all fit and firing on all cylinders our squad will have enough to make sure lose doesn't happen. We have beat them twice when they all thought they would gub us easily. BR has a good record against them and knows how to get the job done. If we start taking the chances we keep missing no
bias referee's or video assisting r2ngers will matter as we should be scoring 5 or 6.

21 Mar 2024 14:33:22
I feel he is staying…. Win or lose. We will find out soon.

I’m not sure any manager could have done better with the players and at his disposal.

If he isn’t staying who is planning for next season? Anyone? Word is Celtic are making a number of enquiries about players. With no senior recruitment staff left, would you let a manager do it who is leaving in a couple of months?

21 Mar 2024 16:38:35
This is a conversation for when the league is decided.

21 Mar 2024 17:11:24
Be better to concentrate on the here and now there's a league and Cup to win. and I'd hazard a guess the manager will still be here next season.

21 Mar 2024 17:49:11
I think he'll be here next season, reason being that Celtic wouldn't want to pay the compo to their highest paid manager if they sack him.

21 Mar 2024 19:36:46
Doesn't matter if we win or lose, Rodgers said himself that he will be here for at least the 3 years of his contract.
Unless the board sack him, which they won't then he is going nowhere.

20 Mar 2024 21:01:36
For me this summer is going to be very interesting, it certainly could define the next 5-10 years domestically.
Win the league and get CL money with potentially denying them could certainly tilt it in our favour for the near future.
We both get in it could easilly be stalemate, whilst just them getting in would worry me as they are far more likely to spend it if history tells us anything.
But in saying that a lot would depend on a certain Mr Rodgers hanging about, if he stays and we lost the league I would bet that he gets a large chunk of change.
When you factor in we would still get Europa league money, probably 20m for Oreilly, 8m already for Abada, and add on Mikey, big shandy and a few other squad members that's a fair few sheckles along with the gazillions in the bank.
I reckon or hope that he would get the biggest budget ever.
Only this time Brendan don't feckin buy 11 players.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Mar 2024 04:43:45
For me, this summer will be no different. We could get 100m for a player and we wouldn't spend it correctly. If we don't win the leage then Rodgers should be nowhere near the club.

21 Mar 2024 11:00:31
Rayman . I've no problem with the club buying 11 players . as long as they're good.

21 Mar 2024 19:29:10
We have 30 million left and 10 million from abada sale, so sevco won't be overtaking us, even if they win the league this season.

Our team does not need a complete overhaul, as it did when ange took over.

I would say we need a first team ready left back, goal keeper and centre back. I would also like to see a quality striker brought in, idah is not the answer imo.

21 Mar 2024 19:38:43
Unless there is a total overhaul of the footballing side of the club and a change of vision I. E. not buying under 23yr olds under £4m to sell on, then nothing will really change.

20 Mar 2024 15:52:51
Edd, i managed to get a ticket for myself and daughter for Buckie game (soaked) but struggled since and she is desperate to go again. is there anything in the pipeline for the ST holders to sell ther tickets if they can't make, a noticed St Johnstone game plenty empty seats.

{Ed007's Note - It's a massive bugbear of mine that Celtic don't have a ticket exchange system up and running - TRIFC have one and that's one of the reason Ibrox is full nearly every week. If someone isn't going to the game they notify the ticket office and the ticket is resold with the ST holder getting 75% of the ticket value credited to them to spend on TRIFC stuff or towards next season's ST.
I've not heard of any plans by Celtic to incorporate a similar system.
It's embarrassing the amount of empty seats at CP every home game, surely if a ST holder isn't going the game they must surely know someone who will use it.}

Ur right mate thsnks for rePly.

{Ed007's Note - ??

20 Mar 2024 18:23:49
Especially with Celtic having mega thousands on the ST waiting list and the demand for tickets remaining high.

20 Mar 2024 18:53:23
Bang on Ed.

It only reinforces the club’s incompetence that they are unable to implement a ticket exchange scheme.

It can’t be beyond the wit of man either for season ticket holders to have the ability to tick a box confirming they want no financial recompense if they so wish so that the ticket could perhaps go to someone or a parent and child that otherwise wouldn’t be able to get to see Celtic for 25% of the price to cover the the cost of managing the system based on what Bjorn Again appear to require if they can reimburse 75% of the price to season ticket holders.

The team can only benefit too from having a full house.

If they had an innovative idea in their collective heads at board level it would die of loneliness.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think they get cash back JFP, I think it's credit added to their MyGers account so it's only whatever they can buy or pay for using that.}

20 Mar 2024 19:24:18
I think a decent % going to Celtic charities would encourage fans who can't make it to resell their ticket.
And a brilliant PR opportunity.

20 Mar 2024 19:24:38
Ed

Correct as far as I’m aware.

They have either to buy a new sash, bowler hat or another season ticket but the 25% must roughly still cover the cost of managing system.

{Ed007's Note - ??

20 Mar 2024 21:42:56
Most of the people I know don't donate to the Celtic foundation because they give money to the poppy appeal.

With regards to getting tickets just now, it will be easy. Tickets go on public sale for most home games and you could rock up to any match and buy tickets outside the ground.

20 Mar 2024 22:18:50
Thing is I’d be happy if not going to just say I’m not going, if im no going im not looking for money back.

20 Mar 2024 15:24:42
If Crawford Allen is leaving because of any issues found from the BR complaint, surely he can't be allowed to see out season. How could he ever be held to account?

Celtic have 3 league games before the split and then we will find out our post split fixtures.

Celtic have Aberdeen at Hampden the week before our 1st post split fixture, I would guess should be at Celtic Park.

20 Mar 2024 17:54:15
Obviously Aberdeen at hampden buzz ?.
