Sorry Edd, but you can have tomorrow off then we would all like you to get back on it again and give us the gossip on who you’ve heard as next manager and realistic names of players were linked with.

cpl days rest should be enough for you?. kidding aside mate you do a great job on here and am sure your going to be in for a very busy cpl months.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks TC mate ?? I'm in a Zen like state since Celtic secured another Double and with the new James Bond game due out this week on the PS I don't think there's anything can that upset me.... (ominous music plays)

24 May 2026 19:36:11
Whos the next James Bond then and don't say Roy Keane ?.

{Ed007's Note - Nah we've already had an Irishman doing it, a Scot, 2 Englishman and a Australian so it'll need to be Welsh... what's that Giggs lad up to these days? ?
I'm not genned up on all these young actors today but it'll probably be quite an unknown and I like that idea, if you cast say a Tom Hardy it takes away from the franchise imo, Bond as a character is more important than the man who plays him.}

24 May 2026 20:59:25
Its all bizarre Ed, James Bond died, so will the next character be 007 or will it still be Bond.

Its a bit like sevco, they died and came back as the same club apparently so can Bond do likewise.

{Ed007's Note - Well the new game is what the youngsters call an origin story, it's set when wee Jimmy first joins MI6 and needs to earn his 00 credentials. IOI - who made the Hitman games - seem to be have ben working in conjunction with Amazon who owns the Jimmy Bond rights, so it could go down that direction of younger Bond ?‍♂️
Also in 2021's No Time to Die Lashana Lynch played Nomi, the new 007 (female and black) agent, to replace the retired 007 agent James Bond (Daniel Craig) which could take it down a whole new direction or a different Bond multiverse storyline.}

24 May 2026 21:21:44
A nice bit of trivia about bond. There have been 2 more bonds, one was English and the other South African.

Peter Neven played bond in a spoof of casino royale and bob Holiness (from blockbusters) , played bond on the radio in moonraker.

{Ed007's Note - David Niven it was and he tried to p[ass himself off as Scottish for years until his birth certificate was discovered. You're right about Bob Holness playing Bond on South African radio in 1956 but there was an American actor called Barry Nelson played James Bond in a 1954 Casino Royale US TV show where Bond was American.
And Talisa Soto from Licence to Kill is by far THE best Bond girl ??

24 May 2026 22:38:41
I liked Denise Richards and Monica Bellucci. ❤️.

25 May 2026 11:15:39
The thing with Bond films is that they never take a well known actor to play the lead. They take an actor on the periphery and make him a star.

I read a story that George Lazenby wasn't even an actor when he got the part. He just went to the audition for a laugh, lied on his CV and got the part.

25 May 2026 12:12:16
Think the next Bond will be a lady ?.

24 May 2026 16:11:56
This summer is one of the most important in our history. First game will be the first week in August.

We need to contend with this board appointing a new manager, which likely come with new coaching staff. Adopt a new style of play to suit the above.

We will contend with players leaving. I reckon a good 10 players will leave. We need to replace those and then some more to deepen the squad.

Maeda, Engels, CCV, Sarrachi, Bernardo, Hatate, Tounetki will all likely move on. Appreciate Sarrachi is a loan. There could be more.

We need to replace those players with like for like or better quality which is likely unavailable. The club need to start acting now in terms of restructure if we even have a chance of making the UCL or competing for the league.

Shankland going to sevco. No surprise there.

He must fancy being 3rd next season, playing in Europa instead of CL.

24 May 2026 15:56:25
That’s so coincidental talking about the west ham Celtic hats. I was just telling my son about this earlier.
After my friends and I graduated from university in Ireland in the late 1980s we went to a wast hame v Leeds match.

We could only get tickets in the west ham terrace, so we all bought and wore the west ham Celtic hats been careful not to be too obvious we were supporting Leeds ?.

Glasgow buns, Edinburgh buns and now Fife buns all despatched in a few weeks. What a fine end to the season!

And, if we're selling the crown jewels again ? at least yesterday's performance will add a good few million to their values.

Spend wisely and ten-in-a-row will be a formality!

Today I am a Tottenham supporter, I want West Ham RELEGATED

Both The Suit and my two ex bears have Hammers pals, both lots equally obnoxious and anti Irish racist

So COME ON THE SPURS.

The Dockers Derby had rival firms competing only 3 miles apart back in the day.
The Millwall firm was typically all British but the West Ham firm had loads of Irish working for them.

{Ed007's Note - I've met a few West Ham lads over the years and all of them to a man had Celtic and/or Irish Republican leanings. I'd love to see Spurs relegated, a horrible club and a horrible set of fans.}

24 May 2026 12:24:34
Would love to see Spurs go down personally.

24 May 2026 13:06:40
They still love our Frank wers e burds, but a do knoe a few cream buns who have a soft spot for the Hammers and ther hooligans are big Sevconian Fans.

{Ed007's Note - That's not true, just because the Rangers casuals stole the West Ham ICF name people assume that.
As a sidenote to what Buzz put up, the West Ham/Millwall rivalry began around the late 1890s/1900s when Thames ironworks (later West Ham) & the Millwall dockers (Millwall Rovers at the time) were on strike, Millwall dockers went back to work and "scabbed" causing the bitter divide & rivalry between the two groups which carried onto their football teams.}

24 May 2026 13:41:51
Am with you Ed all day Mon the hammers my cousin worked in London and they definitely favour us.

{Ed007's Note - ???

24 May 2026 14:13:13
I want West Ham to stay up.
I remember the half and half hats back in the 1980s and the Hammers fans would wear West Ham/ Celtic hats and now I know why.

24 May 2026 14:32:10
Some great facts here and I must confess I did not know the history of their rivalry or that west ham were linked to the Irish diaspora. ?.

{Ed007's Note - Wherever there was docks back then like London, Liverpool & Glasgow, you'll find plenty of Irish put down family routes that exist to this day.}

24 May 2026 14:37:19
ED007 Buzz the Hammers fans that I got introduced to in Glasgow were all bigots and hated Celtic
maybe I met the "wrong" fans but they made a big impression on me and not a good one.

{Ed007's Note - I'm pretty sure (and probably quite proud) that there's fans of English teams out there who've met me and went away thinking I was a bam ??‍♂️

24 May 2026 14:59:15
Defo want to see spurs go down.

Shambles of a club.

24 May 2026 15:23:34
I don’t think the Poppy involvement in football every year has helped the younger generation look on Celtic FC and our fans.
It’s not as safe now wearing the Hoops on holiday abroad.

24 May 2026 18:30:55
Defo wanted spurs to go down after what they did to Ange. Horrible club with pompous fans.

Unfortunately Everton did not turn up today and did them a favour.

Four ahead of both Ibrox clubs combined 122-118.
I mentioned a couple of days ago Celtic now have more league titles than the Ibrox clubs for the 1st time since the late 1920s.

Rangers went level in 1929 and then ahead in 1930 and they stayed there with the help of one behind closed doors title from Sevco until recently.

Especially if it’s Martin’s last ever match in Management.

24 May 2026 07:37:34
I find it incredulous but not surprising that the Celtic board have not spoken to Martin O'Neill yet.

If they are replacing him (which I think would be the right choice) , then he should have known this right from the start. A new manager should have already been found and should be appointed within the next week.

If they are keeping him, then he should also have been aware of this. He should already be under at least a year rolling contract, he should have been backed in the January window and he should have been heavily involved in planning for this summer.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 May 2026 10:50:39
I agree And I would say IF the board doesn't introduce the manager to take the club forward for season 26/ 27 sometime this week I would say that they haven't learnt anything from their past mistakes.

It's not panty wetting it's about starting to build for the new season about getting ready for Europe there is a huge build for next season and they have to be in place to take up the challenge.

24 May 2026 11:04:26
Joe, I think the fact he wasn't backed in january would suggest he was not being considered beyond the summer in january. I think we will have a few preferred choices in mind and MON will be the fall back again if these preferred choices are not interested (or refuse to take it up the **** from DD)
If this is the case then MON is being strung along again by the club.

Now that the season is over, i would expect an announcement from either the board or martin within the next 7 days. If its strung along any longer then the board are once again taking the piss out of the fans and MON.

24 May 2026 12:13:43
I don't think in January MON would have been considered for another season as no one quite knew how he'd get on for a longer spell.

The up turn kn results could have been the new manager bounce (although that was never the case with Nancy)

Hence why I don't think he was backed in January.

Now 5 months on with a league and cup double I think he has to be under very serious consideration. MON could have put an end to the will he won't he by stating no I won't be the manager next season, but he hasn't which suggests there's something in the air. Either that MON is playing a blinder and not wanting to shift the focus from the task that was in hand.

I'd like to see MON stay for another season at least but that's not really forward thinking.

Also if Robbie Keane is being considered and after he resigned would we get in next a year down the line without paying compensation? Probably not.

Heart says given MON another year. Head says we need to move on with the future.

24 May 2026 18:36:34
I wouldn't be against MoN staying as manager next season. Not entirely overwhelmed with the candidates being linked if I'm totally honest. Unless we can convince McKenna then we may need to wait on him until the end of the season. Chances are he may get snapped up by someone else in the pub league in the next few sackings though.

24 May 2026 06:57:08
Well done Martin and the players and coaching staff you take all the credit yous have achieved a double when most thought otherwise myself included, if Martin gets another year this Tim won't be disappointed but the rest of the league will he's a winner pure and simple.

24 May 2026 11:22:04
Guys, I agree that MON has done a brilliant job but is he the Manager to start a new era at our club. I am struggling to reconcile that.

I mean that in the nicest way as I think the man is just a genius man Manager to have turned this season around.

He came in and saved us twice from the same problem, the board and their acceptance of mediocrity.

Keeping him might just mean as a club we do not move forward and that would be exactly what this board is about.

They live in the last and keeping Martin would fit into that thinking and what we need is to move into the modern football world.

One issue I do have with him and it has nothing to do with his ability as a top man Manager is his continued use of the word owner when he references DD.

I want him to get a job within the club but I just don't think we will move forward in any way if he is the Manager.

I think his relationship with DD may work against him and him getting what he really needs in the transfer market to move us clear of the rabble again.

DD may use that relationship to his own ends.

Sorry if that sounds negative after what he has done but it is those behind the scenes I do not trust and not MON.

24 May 2026 14:11:25
We all know with DD, money is king. However, even he must realise failing to properly invest in the squad will result in a much worse financial performance in the mid to long term.

Selling off our most valuable assets is not a new strategy but failing to properly replace them as we've seen over the last few windows, will end up costing us.

European failure can be offset by transfer dealings but not long term as we'll see a downward spiral into constant mediocrity. Other clubs with much less financial clout have shown that with a bit of ambition and decent recruitment strategy, financial and footballing progress can come hand in hand.

I don't believe DD has built his financial empire through luck, rather by making shrewd investments at the right time. Surely to goodness he can see what we need to be doing in order to strengthen both football and financial performance.

I guess the next few months will tell us for once and all?
