Well done Dunfermline on reaching the cup final. If Celtic win tomorrow, it will be a great occasion and tough game between Mentor MON and student NL.

Also means Sevco don't play Falkirk the week before the cup final, so no excuse for resting players. ?.

QPR have always had an Irish connection due to immigrants moving to West London.
18 Apr 2026 23:22:05
They apparently worn the hoops before we did. Wee Karamoko is playing there, not sure if he's been injured in recent weeks though as not seen him in any recent match day squads.

I remember drinking with a Celtic and QPR fan many years ago in Cologne.

Still trying to be POSITIVE
We all agree this season has not been the best
Yet despite it all, we reached one cup final are in the semi final of the Scottish Cup and are still in with a chance of winning league
In MARTIN we Trust.

And beaten of a team fighting relegation who we play tommorrow deja vu? If we hadn't lost at tannadice i'd be more positive but live in hope.
18 Apr 2026 15:02:16
My opinion. We don't have one of our better teams but when BR left MON was grinding out results regardless. Nancy stepped in and least said about HIS reign the better.
Many managers would have looked at the mess left and the lack of investment and walked away.
MON came back in and has slowly started grinding out results again.
NOT pretty to watch and for sure, most supporters are relieved when the final whistle blows, but keeping us in the challenge.
18 Apr 2026 23:25:08
Some of the attacking football played under Nancy was really good on the eye. We've just
been lacking the quality signings all season to put those chances away. The less said about Nancy's defence the better.

I’ve mentioned plenty of times on here, when Celtic have went through our entire History undefeated on particular Dates but tomorrow April 19th is a horrendous Date Historically for Celtic.
Since 1930,
Celtic have only Won Twice in our last 13 games on April 19th.
The last time we played on that Date was 11 Years Ago in the fiasco Semi Final defeat against Inverness CT to prevent a Treble.
In total Celtic have Won 6 games on April 19th in our History which is the same as February 29th when we’ve Won 6 and Drawn 1 from only 7 games.

Could be an omen. but I also wonder what St Mirren's record is on that date? Maybe that would cancel out the calendar curse? ?.
18 Apr 2026 09:50:06
That may be down to the fact we usually had the league wrapped up by this point in mist of those years.
18 Apr 2026 10:27:47
Historically it would be better if we played St. Mirren today.
Celtic beat them 3-2 in the 1970s and 4-2 in the 1980s.
We also beat them 5-1 in the Scottish Cup final on this date in 1908 to win the first Double Double in Scottish Football.
Celtic haven’t previously played St. Mirren on April 19th.
18 Apr 2026 10:43:28
That year in 1908,
Celtic actually secured the 1st ever Double Double at Ibrox in a 1-0 victory to win our 4th League in a row.
It was made extra special because it happened on Willie Maley’s 40th Birthday.
Willie Maley died 111 Years ago yesterday.
Celtic were prevented from winning a Triple Double the following year when the Scottish Cup was withheld due to riots.
18 Apr 2026 11:06:33
Buzz time to look FORWARD not BACK
Enjoy our cup victory tomorrow HH.
18 Apr 2026 11:58:25
I can’t help but look back at our amazing History.
I’m in the West Stand tomorrow.
I haven’t been in there since the old terracing in our replay against Motherwell in 1991.
18 Apr 2026 15:25:15
Buzz - with Dunfermline making the final. Had a check for the 2007 season when they last made it.
Celtic won the league with Rangers second and Aberdeen 3rd not far behind.
Hibs won the league cup
Possible Celtic v Dunfermline final
Sevco had their manager issue with Le Guen - some similarities to this year if you ignore our own issues.
Maybe just maybe the league is ours.

Hopefully BB ?.

Our board could learn a lot from Bournemouth. The current boss Iraola doesn’t leave until the end of the season and they already have done a deal to appoint his successor - Marco Rose (does the name sound familiar to Celtic fans? ) .
The new boss-in-waiting now has over a month to watch and assess his squad in action and start to prepare for the crucial transfer window.
So that’s how a well-run club does it!
{Ed007's Note - No, a well run club would already be in negotiations with transfer targets, at a well run club the signings aren't driven my a manager who could only be in the job for a matter months - especially in England.
Do you think Tiago Pinto has just ripped up all the scouting data and stopped negotiating with agents because a new manager will be coming in?

18 Apr 2026 09:16:08
'Well run club' and Celtic just don't marry-up these days. In fact you might have to go back many, many decades to even suggest we were ever well run?
18 Apr 2026 09:16:49
I am assuming - perhaps naively Ed - that the scouting of players has been underway for a long time. You need the players and the coach / manager for a successful team.
{Ed007's Note - For all we know Celtic have already an agreement with our next manager and it's just not been made public yet.}
18 Apr 2026 09:52:37
I think you both agree that at the moment Celtic are far from a well run club and that is one of the reasons we want the board out.
18 Apr 2026 10:13:16
Is there any reality in getting the board out?
I think it might need extreme action like no one renewing season books for example which will never happen.
Fans are to precious over their seats. Seems on this site anyway that only a small amount are willing to do that.
{Ed007's Note - Well two of them have left already and the rumours of Nicholson's exit are still out there.}
18 Apr 2026 10:44:52
We cross our fingers on that one!
{Ed007's Note - ????
18 Apr 2026 11:22:44
Also rumours that Hargreaves will be off at the end of the season.
Personally this does not change things for me as the main culprit will remain in charge.
18 Apr 2026 14:57:02
I hope it's someone like Robbie Keane, reason being is he will demand a few quid to spend to get the team up and running. I am not suggesting we should go out and spend 10 million on one player but bring in a good few quality players for the positions we need.
I would go as far as saying we need 7 new players minimum and they will cost a lot more than 10 million quid for the rebuild who ever takes over. Whether or not the board will sanction that sort of spending is another matter.
18 Apr 2026 15:48:13
Titanic and deck chairs spring to mind.
DD needs to have a change of direction by releasing more cash into the club rather than hoarding it for no apparent purpose than to pay more tax.
If he had to appear on dragons den and explain that business approach the panel would get him certified.
Unless this mindset change occurs we will just be opposing another set of yes men.
19 Apr 2026 08:39:21
Ed, the contract will be signed and announced after the cup final, a joint picture of MN and NL.
I am joking whilst crossing everything I have.
I would love to think that we have an agreement with a Manager in place and that person is already identifying the players he needs.
It would be great for that to be the case but this is Celtic and the way our club is currently being run, we will never be that well organised.
We will be running around all summer trying to find a Manager and our board will sign players for whoever comes in.
The changes we need will not happen under the current organisational structure, management and strategy.
It is a top to bottom structural change we need and with the Desmonds that will not happen imo.

I read Celtic will not be getting the full Stand at Easter Road which is disappointing.
Celtic will get about 1,500 tickets with the rest of the Stand being virtually empty as usual.

I'm fact to add to that. We're at a stage where no one knows what's about to happen. If you want to pull stuff out of thin air to have a pre fit? Yeah fill your boots. Absolutely nothing has happened on transfers or managers.
Seasons not nearly finished. Once it gets close then aye go mental. I will. But right now it's just greeting over things have never and will likely never happen.

Exactly back the team leave the politics for now.
17 Apr 2026 19:48:02
I suspect the board is keen on signing Andy Robertson, and they’re probably foolish enough to think this would excite the fans and win them back over.
However, it would show poor planning and mismanagement of funds. First, we’d likely pay a hefty signing on fee to bring in an aging player with no resale value, who’s also prone to injury and may spend a chunk of the season on the sidelines. Second, we’d be spending over £100,000 a week on two left-backs. Not only is this a huge financial commitment, but it could also cause unrest among the other players, as the left-backs would become the two highest-paid members of the squad.

No transfer fee involved? I'd be very happy to have an excellent full back who will give his all for Celtic. His experience and winning mentality would help us deliver trophies. Wish we had him right now!
17 Apr 2026 20:41:39
Not for me.
Players who think they can come to play for us at the end of their careers, like they are owed or owe the club something just because they are a fan, should not be a priority imo.
AR is past his best, his performances for Scotland have demonstrated his best is way behind him.
For what we would pay him, we could get 2 or 3 decent quality younger players, with potential sell on value.
We need to look to the future and start building a team for the next 3 to 5 years, not give players a final hooray and a run out for their boyhood team.
It would be money poured down the drain.
KT is already here and with either scarrachi or another left back, we would be well enough covered.
AR can go and play at the bottom of the pub league for his last few years or go abroad.
17 Apr 2026 20:46:30
Folk said similar about KT and he has played plenty, and been one of our better performers. Pretty sure the new manager would like to have the dilemma of who to play (rather than the RB situation we have) and if need be could find a way to play both. As a free it would be a no trainer signing if he is interested.
17 Apr 2026 21:05:28
With our downturn in revenue and the need to rebuild the whole squad, this would be a shocking signing and further proof that those in charge do t have a clue.
17 Apr 2026 21:11:33
He isn't coming so its a mute point. I suspect the board want to sign van dijk.
17 Apr 2026 21:54:20
There may not be a transfer fee but that usually means a large signing on bonus, akin to a transfer fee.
17 Apr 2026 22:05:20
We should be building a team around the like of Engels, Ben Arthur (if bought) and the likes of young Osmand. But the two former ones may be going this coming window.
17 Apr 2026 22:09:18
Even if this board spend big in the summer, it shows them to be reactive instead of proactive. The dinosaurs need made extinct. This club has been treading water for decades and only when they are gone can we plan a future. Again, no one expects us to spend outwith our means just to use our income to move us forwards.
17 Apr 2026 23:02:38
Jesus. it's not happening.
18 Apr 2026 08:52:09
He's going to spurs.
18 Apr 2026 09:55:55
He has an agreement to go to spurs if they don't relegated, so he may not be going to spurs. There are also stories that we have spoken with him, hence the reason for my post.
18 Apr 2026 11:15:28
Way past his sell buy date.
17 Apr 2026 18:54:56
The collective has shared an update regarding season ticket renewals. They’re urging all fans who can afford to hold off, without it negatively impacting their personal situation, not to renew their season tickets until the very last day possible.
I think this is a good start, as it will likely make the financial team at Celtic nervous. Personally, I would go even further. I’d encourage all season ticket holders to be vocal on social media about their intention not to renew, even if they actually plan to do so. This could create uncertainty for the club, as they won’t be able to gauge how many fans are genuinely considering not renewing.

17 Apr 2026 20:44:29
It could justify not spending decent money in the summer window if the clubs takings go down, not that our board will do that in any case, spend good money.
17 Apr 2026 21:07:26
It is a certainty that our revenue has declined. My prediction is we have gown from 145 to 90-100 million.
17 Apr 2026 21:16:11
It will be a race to the bottom with the board having their own NAP campaign.
There are no winners in this scenario.
I’m still unsure if I want to renew.
Finding out who the new manager will be should be a good indicator on how well he will be supported.
My gut is telling me this situation could last at least another two seasons.
But then again I never thought we would see the green brigade back so what do I know.
