Celtic have played 19 Boxing Day fixtures in the last 29 Years.
Our record is an Incredible 18 wins and 1 Draw.
The only exception was a 2-2 home draw against Dundee United in 2006.
( Celtic scored 2 late goals to get a Draw )
Celtic recently played 8 consecutive away fixtures on this date which ended last season with a home match.

Agathe.
26 Dec 2025 10:02:17
1 - It's got to be Larsson because of his all round play and work rate.
2 - Celtic fans would sing about how good Stuart Armstrong's hair was.
3 - In my Grans house there was a poster of Johnny Doyle and Davie Provan with their permed hair.
4 - There was a handful from the early 1990s.
5 - Don't know.
6 - Didier Agathe for about £30K.
26 Dec 2025 10:10:53
Other than the king I'm going for Agathe as the best bargain
I'm sure he was 50k and like bolt on steroids ?.
26 Dec 2025 12:59:20
I'm putting aside Dalglish and Larsson so here goes.
Caesar. He epitomised Celtic. Dignity. Presence. Commanding. Class. Celtic through and through.
Best hair do. Frankie on Only an Excuse ?
Worse. Feed the Bear in the 70s
Worse player. That's a hard one. Ian Andrews. Maybe I'm being unfair.
Best Bargain? Kenny Dalglish, got him for nothing.

6.lustig.
26 Dec 2025 14:36:51
1. No brainer, Henrik!
2. Jota's flowing locks! ?
3. Davie Moyes ginger explosion in a matress factory! ?
4. Too many to choose from but currently, Balikwisha. In my opinion a total waste of money
5. Reo or Daizen, because the interviewer tries to speak to them like normal, they are Japanese!
6. Lubo! A steal at £330k.
26 Dec 2025 16:14:13
1. Brian MacClair
2. Larsons
3. Lennon ( dyed hair)
4. Greame Sinclair
5. Big Ange "always looking at the floor" great speaker
6. Lubo.
27 Dec 2025 08:08:08
1. Di Canio (what I would have done to keep him at the club longer)
2.Mjallby
3.Laxalt
4.Most recent Balikwisha, never seen anyone so scared to take on their man.
5. James McCarthy with a fake accent, most cringe moment of an interview.
6.There's so many, however Kieran Tierney cost nothing twice. In terms of a player we bought - Scott Brown (He gave us everything every day and raised standards around the club)

Uefa brought a rule out in 1960 that Live TV domestic league games will not take place on a Saturday at 3pm in Scotland.
Although the first live Scottish league match didn't take place until August 1986 when we lost 1-0 at Ibrox on a Sunday.
Our Live TV game this Saturday will be the first since that rule came out 65 years ago.
Uefa have allowed Sky to relax their rules for this season's festive period only.
It's to allow 3 live Scottish games back to back this Saturday.
{Ed001's Note - UEFA? It wasn't UEFA that I am aware of. It was the English FA that brought it in down in England, in order to protect lower league clubs from losing all their gate money. I would assume it was the SFA in Scotland that made the ruling.}

I was wondering and looked it up Ed.
The Daily Record wrote an article on July 18th 2025 stating our match at Livingston would be live at 3pm on a Saturday and it was a Uefa rule from 1960.
I thought it was strange because Scottish football didn't have a live league match until 1986.
I was at that Ibrox match as a youngster but the first Scottish live league match actually took place in April 1986.
Hearts looked like winning the league that season and had a Sunday live league match in a 1-1 home draw with Aberdeen.
I remember it because I made my Confirmation that day.
{Ed001's Note - I am 99% sure it is nothing to do with UEFA mate. The rest of Europe doesn't have the same rule.}
25 Dec 2025 23:24:21
Aberdeen were involved in the first Scottish TV live league match and I made my Confirmation on the same day.
I can remember watching maybe the last 20 or 30 minutes wanting Aberdeen to win because Hearts were running away with the title.
A couple of years earlier my Sister made her Confirmation from the same school in the same Parish but it was on a Wednesday night.
Aberdeen won the Cup Winners Cup Final against Real Madrid.
I can remember watching the Extra Time and once again wanting Aberdeen to win.
A bit of a coincidence both family Confirmations took place when Aberdeen were involved in historical games.
25 Dec 2025 22:43:38
The Daily Record make it up as they go along Ed. ?.
{Ed001's Note - now that seems to be the modern way, sadly.}
26 Dec 2025 08:45:45
Always remember this rule ruined the first 15 mins of el Classico on sky as game started at 5 and tv coverage not allowed til 5.15.
25 Dec 2025 17:44:58
Ah John, what a player - R. I. P.
A boy from Viewpark who went on to win the European Cup with Nottingham Forrest in 79' and 80'.
His captain in later years described him as being 'a bit like Ryan Giggs except he had two good feet and was better'.
His manager, Brian Clough, decscribed him as being 'scruffy' but added, he was 'the best deliverer of a ball that he'd ever seen'.
Rest easy Robbo.

Another brilliant winger born in Viewpark.
John grew up a Rangers fan but he described his 5 years at Celtic as his best days in football.
That was surprising considering he won 2 European Cups with Nottingham Forest.
RIP Robbo.

I've just this minute read a post on SM by Didier Agathe in response to the passing of John Robertson.
It is a post filled with love, humilty and respect.

Merry Christmas to all. The Baby Jesus became carpenter Jesus. The One who plied His trade with nails and wood, would Himself be nailed to a cross of wood. For you. For me.
Ed, thank you for keeping this site going. Have a good Christmas bro whatever that means for you.
{Ed007's Note - Merry Chrismas mate.
