On a couple of websites we are linked with the Turkish left back and Joe Gomez of Liverpool. Then today rumours of Chelsea and Munich looking at kt. I know he shot the rumours down but do you think the club are looking to sell kt. I sincerely hope not, I know possible cover is needed if izzy was to go but would a full international (turkey ) would be keen to come to sit on the bench

A hope not mate, a doubt Rodgers would welcome any interest in kt. N he's a celtic diehard, he will go one day but not anytime soon hopefully. Fingers n toes crossed.

2.) 08 Jan 2017 22:33:58
I hope not but I think in most if not all clubs have a price for each player if they think its crazy money and if he would go I think it would happen but like you guys its just news papers trying to make up a story

Just noticed that feyenoord have signed jerry st juste, if we were on the lookout for another centre back I thought he was a decent option for us. Fairly cheap, young and fast with a potential of good sell on value. As much as the defence has done well recently, when we step up the the champions league I would like another centre back with pace as presumably we will be under the cosh more than most of our games.

With the possible news that we may now be in for a forward, what are people's ideas on it? Do u think we will go for someone on loan like Ings or Austin, an unheard off forward or god forbid someone like moult as moussa or griff are going to be the main options?

Quinn1888

1.) 12 Aug 2017 15:54:57
I think it has to be a 3rd choice striker as back up, so wouldn't expect a big signing so to speak. The market should be quite big id imagine in that area. I couldny even guess who to be honest.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 15:55:06
It's more concerning for me that we are so far into the season - without addressing such a huge problem, especially with such an important qualifier on the horizon.
The warning signs were there last season when both MD and Griff were missing but because we were in full throttle - and other players were red hot, we got away with it.
Obviously we could not have predicted the various injury problems so early in the season, but the shuffling and shifting is clearly affecting the team and the makeshift striker and centre half situation is to much of a gamble against any half decent organised side.
Add to this an unsettled Armstrong and an out of his depth Hayes and we really need our class players to hit real form and deliver as any late addition (apart from PR) will find it hard to have an immediate impact?

3.) 12 Aug 2017 17:50:45
Guess I'm on my own but I think the bloke from Motherwell would do fine for us domestic like.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 18:20:06
The bloke from motherwell? If your talking about moult then most defiantly on your own, I'd rather have tam Cowan than him.

5.) 12 Aug 2017 18:25:15
Mibby not.

6.) 12 Aug 2017 20:41:24
I'm on my own then.

7.) 12 Aug 2017 21:21:33
I would have him viking. Boy looks to get in about it.

8.) 13 Aug 2017 04:57:14
Do most boys not look to get in about it? 😝 maybe it's just pervs like me. 👍.

Ed, do you think we are waiting for the champions league qualifying to be decided before we spend any more money? Obviously Roberts is going to be a target, but personally if we do qualify I think we could do with a real top class centre back plus cover for kt. I haven't seen enough of ntcham but I'd love a midfielder that really picks a pass, especially if like Rosenberg, teams bed in against us. When this happens we can't seem to draw teams out, or against better teams in Europe we need someone to pick out a final ball. I appreciate we have a few centre backs but in the group stages we seemed to be just hanging on in some games. The way it's going at the minute I'd maybe sacrifice Armstrong as he doesn't seem to have made any progress in the contract situation . If we were to get Roberts back 🙏, I don't feel we would be much different from last year, surely we want to keep improving the squad.

Quinn1888

1.) 05 Aug 2017 15:04:39
We don't need another CM Ntcham and Rogic can pick out a pass well and Ntcham will get better every game the bhoy has star quality written all over! all we are looking for is more match fitness. But a back up for KT and a right winger are needed.

2.) 05 Aug 2017 18:19:26
Quinn1888 did u not read the managers statement last week I think him say he's looking to get 1 in by the end of transfer window a winger that can play as a striker he said the other day he won't be getting any cb in plus we have a really good midfield aswell no need for this midfielder that really pics a pass that what ntcham is good at. catch up brother hh.

27 Jul 2017 17:01:57
Now our European target could be on a knife edge, who do we feel is too blame?
Surely when the manager signed his new contract it would be on the proviso of "x amount of money to improve the team ", like someone said earlier we have lost quite a few of the squad and really only outlayed for ntcham and Hayes . Both of which are covered potentially by van dijk and izzy sales. So is it the board being tight again or br being over confident in us making the group with the players we have, then making a couple of signings with the promise of champions league?

Quinn1888

1.) 27 Jul 2017 17:20:16
It's possible our targets aren't currently available. I believed going into the qualifiers we had a squad good enough to progress to the group stages and i still do. Very unfortunate with injuries but we should have had Ciftci out the door earlier and another striker brought in as it doesn't look like Aitchison is going to get a chance.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 17:43:29
No one is to blame. We're going to win over there.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 18:20:13
I think we will win as well but there is a possibility we could go out, if that happened I presume targets would obviously change.
On a side note, while we are stripping down the squad I can't believe Forrest is not on that list. 5 to 10 decent games a season at best. He has no consistency and he's hardly a youngster anymore.

4.) 27 Jul 2017 18:31:34
One draw and who's to blame? Honestly it's a fricken joke! There are multiple factors that went into the underperformance. Is that how u react to situations in life when thing go wrong? Who's to blame? Invincible season, beautiful attacking football, money starting to be invested! We as a club are bigger than that!

5.) 27 Jul 2017 18:42:51
Spot on with that one Quinn. If he was foreign he wouldn't have lasted a season. We need to start Hayes and Sinky wide next week.

6.) 27 Jul 2017 18:49:39
I think when you factor in all the sales and loans, our net spend this summer is negligible and certainly no where near the amount of money we recouped from last season and the season book sales. maybe we will buy next month. I just hope it is not too late.

7.) 27 Jul 2017 19:00:51
I certainly don't think any right minded fan should be sitting around looking for someone to blame, that's poor. The squad is defos good enough to go through, we aren't entitled to win every time we step out on a pitch. We were poor last night, it happens, its how we react on wednesday that counts.

First of all I hope he stays. As for some of us to be slagging him off, I really don't see what he's doing wrong. Armstrong isn't a kt where he was brought up loving the hoops, he has no real affinity to the club, although I'm sure he loves it there. What is happening to us is exactly what happened with him at Utd, he was offered a better contract, a better opportunity and he took it. It's the nature of the beast, any player anyone signs it's predominately for money and opportunities. Someone on here earlier was saying play ntcham or kundai as they want to be here. Ntcham has already said he wants to play in the premier in the future. We all know most of our lads have a shelf life of two to three seasons max because the standard isn't that challenging. He stays, great he moves on, we replace him and the cycle will continue.

I really don't see the point in this move, I hope the club aren't planning on cashing in on kt . From what was said yesterday izzy is hoping to sign a new 3 year deal, so what's the point in another left back.

I have to agree kev, it's a shame though as I have never really seen him having a bad game for us . Its a shame as before the season started last year I would have preferred him to mcgregor, but he came into the side under br and got better and better. I suppose we can't fit everyone in though, I hope he gets a good move for his career .

I wish people would stop going on about McCarthy, for the last year or so he's been consistently injured . I also don't really see him controlling many games in the prem or for Ireland. For the outlay I'd think there is more important areas.

I'm not saying it won't happen but did dembele not say just yesterday that he was looking to improve with us next season and have a better champions league campaign . I appreciate he will leave, but personally I don't think it wouldn't be at least until the qualifiers are over . If we sold him, never got through to the champions league the fans wouldn't be happy. What would be the point of getting 20/ 25 million now if we lost out on the same amount by not qualifying. I've read this site for years, and while I appreciate "ed" is passing on info, not all of it is always correct. Hopefully, this is one of them times when he's been passed on bad info!

Personally I thought that was very tense last night, but like someone else said kt, jozo and brown were very good. Sinclair done a lot of good work helping out defending but didn't offer much going forward, maybe because they left him very little space to run into and they knew as we hadn't a recognised forward he was our main threat. I think rogic needs a break once the qualifiers are over as he has had very little rest. Armstrong looked very off the pace last night, I lost count of the amount of hospital balls he gave to team mates. Hayes couldn't seem to control the ball either last night. He needs to improve quickly. I'd agree we definitely need another top centre back, definitely Roberts and probably a centre forward. If Armstrong isn't going to sign get him sold and utilise the fee to bring in a bit more quality.

Totally agree Garryc, banter is part of what makes football interesting especially with us and sevco but lately it's seems to have stepped over the mark. Neither of both set of fans should be happy about the recent stuff, if they have any morals at all. Shocking and barbaric that some moronic element of fans and society today think that glorifying deaths is ok.

After hearing what br said regarding the club being in a position to bring him back must mean the club know what city want for pat and what wages he would want as well. Id say it's just a matter of pep saying he's better off leaving.
