Name floating about, apparently we're interested in Greek striker Fotis Ioannidis from Panathinaikos.

Pretty poor scoring record until this season but so did Giakoumakis before he came to us. Tough one to judge.

2.) 20 Dec 2023 21:27:49
Am sure Gio was top goal scorer in holland before he came to us mate, pavlidis of az alkmaar is the 1 for us am putting my reputation on it ??.

3.) 20 Dec 2023 22:40:58
TC

You’re bang on 100%.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 09:19:50
I meant up until the season before we signed GG mate, think he had more goals that season than he did in his entire career up until that point. Ioannidis looks to be on a similar curve, 25 goals before this season and 14 so far so he could well match his career tally. If the manager genuinely wants him then let's get it done.

5.) 21 Dec 2023 14:45:38
Alot of them are penalties but he seems a bit wasteful with chances. He's only 23 so I guess his career is kickstarting. Previously linked Pavlidis looks better imo but AZ will likely want top dollar for him now.

6.) 21 Dec 2023 19:47:30
Whatever striker we sign, we need to either get our wide men to improve their wing-play and crosses or we need to look to add to that position as well. So far the majority of our wide men are not beating their man, hitting the by-line or delivering decent balls in the box.

Hey Ed. Have you heard anything concrete about our interest in Rob Holding? A few stories are saying we're in talks with Arsenal. Seems a strange one for £8m as he's more comfortable at RCB and he won't be dislodging CCV from the team.

DontLookBackInAnge

{Ed007's Note - This story linking Celtic with Holding originated on a Twitter account from Mali with 49 followers, it was then picked up by a Nigerian account with circa 4300 followers.
Holding is obviously available and Celtic will know that, imo if anything he will be on a list of possibilities or maybes, I've not heard anything from anyone reliable that there's any truth in the stories.}

1.) 25 Jun 2023 15:04:45
the big question is mark would you sign him. i think he would be a good signing.

{Ed007's Note - I think he would be a good signing as well, John but not at the prices being bandied about, surely for £8 million plus the wages to an ex-Pub League player we could get a bit more bang for our bucks.}

2.) 26 Jun 2023 12:38:09
He would be ok in the league but he isn't any better than ccv or starfelt. I would hope we would be targeting someone better. But if we do sign him I'd pay 2/ 3 million at most.

3.) 26 Jun 2023 16:17:34
We are supposedly still looking at the Belgian boy who was at Chelsea meant to be the next van dijk 6ft5 and good with the ball at his feet 3-4 million 19 years old.

19 Jun 2023 21:31:18
We're being linked with Ndidi and Amartey (free agent) from Leicester. I don't live too far from Leicester and all the boys at work are Leicester fans. Please god no to Amartey especially at CB! They all hated him.

DontLookBackInAnge

1.) 20 Jun 2023 07:02:26
The only people linking us with them are the media trying to get hits on their websites. HH.

2.) 20 Jun 2023 11:06:09
Ndidi could be a shout.

3.) 20 Jun 2023 13:06:06
He'd be an amazing capture! Transfermarkt values him at £30m however. Down from a high of £60m mind you.

4.) 20 Jun 2023 13:09:07
I said the same to my mates at work, guy has no place in a Celtic shirt we need better than this type of player if this is rodgers recruiting strategy taking Leicester rejects I want him nowhere near the recruitment side of things leave it to baby lawell.

On a positive note. At least we'll have Maeda back as Japan have been knocked out by Iran.

DontLookBackInAnge

1.) 03 Feb 2024 14:52:29
I didn’t know that until I read your post. ?.

2.) 03 Feb 2024 14:56:59
Can he play left back and striker at the same time? Probably Aye.

3.) 03 Feb 2024 15:24:53
I would put him back in at LW OAB and sit out Palma. Gone off the boil a wee bit and needs to know a dip in performance you lose your place in the team and need to fight to earn your place in the starting 11.

Disappointing night. We looked comfortable until the reds. First one was pretty harsh considering how low the player was which is why rugby's review system trumps football's VAR as they take into account mitigating circumstances but naive from Largerbielk considering Hart had it covered. He didn't cover himslef in glory with the free kick but made up for it with the oenalty save. Feyenoord looked pretty average 11 v 11 which is the biggest disappointment. With our best 11 and everyone fit I feel we'll beat them at home. CB is a real issue against Lazio now we need Phillips fully fit now.

DontLookBackInAnge

1.) 20 Sep 2023 05:37:55
The free kick was the wall not Hart's fault.

2.) 20 Sep 2023 08:55:06
Hart made an erse of it. The wall was poor but he’s got to save that. Just another CL Clanger to add to the thousands we commit.

3.) 20 Sep 2023 09:00:11
Nonsense! What would've happened if the attacker had got the ball up and over the wall, would that have been the wall's fault?

Hi Ed, Not seen a lot been said about Johnston coming off yesterday. Do you think it was a fitness issue or did he pick up an injury or aggrieve his previous injury?

DontLookBackInAnge

{Ed007's Note - I thought he had maybe taken a knock and was taken off as a precaution, I've not heard or read anything to suggest it's a problem.
I was also surprised that Taylor was taken off as he was playing well compared to his earlier performances this season, has he maybe been carrying a knock and that's why he was taken off, could maybe explain the massive drop in his form?}

1.) 05 Sep 2023 11:35:05
Brendan said Johnstone was more a game time thing and no injury. Taylor felt tight but he never said what the issue was.

2.) 05 Sep 2023 14:00:11
Taylor had taken a sore one when he never got that foul not long before coming off.

3.) 05 Sep 2023 15:27:11
I know Taylor was struggling with an ankle injury tail end of last season and needing to get injections for it. I don’t know if this is still causing him problems . But he would not be starting week in week out of playing with an injury.

4.) 05 Sep 2023 20:01:39
He's had indifferent form and divides opinion on here but always gives 100%, Hopefully not a concern from either going forward the last thing we need is both of them out injured too.

BR interview asked about incomings. Asked about Bernado being close and said there's a number of players still we've to confirm. Asked again if there could be more than one coming in and his reply was "could be" hiding a wee smirk. Keeping his cards close to his chest surprised there are no stories breaking on who they could be/ are.

A wins a win it wasn't pretty but Aberdeens gameplan made it awkward for us to play football today. They pressed and forced us to go long losing the ball regularly. Should've wrapped the game up earlier with Abada, Kyogo and 2 big chances from Maeda all fluffed. Plenty to work on now on to the cup and that awkward pitch to deal with next ?.

Typical after we've finally found a balance in midfield that works for us another one is out. Also seen Nawrocki has picked up an injury too.

This window goes from bad to worse. I'd rather we signed no one than Idah! There was rumours of Ings now we're going for a guy because he's Irish. Has it really took since the summer to identify crap like this? The posters on here have suggested much better realistic options.

I think he'll be a good signing. He won't be a regular starter anyway but offers a different dimension up front that Kyogo doesn't. Just need to make sure he isn't starved of the sufficient service he needs like Kyogo has been most of the season.

Jung could be signed now to settle in early as the K-league season is finished now. Although we have plenty of midfielders there are question marks over Hatate and MoR leaving in the summer and Turnbull will be out of contract.

Call us paranoid but I said in work Friday they will be using VAR to find any old excuse to give a penalty and a red card against us. Especially after they lost on Saturday. And no surprises that's exactly what happened. We need to be better to not allow officials to influence games. Hopefully Calmac is back next game and we continue where we left off against Dundee but the biggest loss will be Yang banned for 3 games (I believe for violent conduct/ dangerous tackles) which is an absolute joke. I hope Celtic will be appealing that red.

Only name that springs to mind early doors is Fergal Harkin. We was linked with him before when he was with CFG. He's at Standard Liege as a DoF now but could be persuaded I'm sure he was highly thought of.

Bernardo reminds me a bit like Ntcham but with more potential. I don't get why Iwata never seems to get a look in. Solid player and pretty versatile too. Holm could probably do with a loan to develop quicker but it would leave us short of options if we pick up injuries.
