I read that today,
Maeda missed training,
Calmac played half the training session.
But Palma played a Full Training Session.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 12 Apr 2024 11:36:15
Just saw the footage of training no mention of any injuries calmac trying with the group as was palma.

2.) 12 Apr 2024 12:18:06
I'd like to see Palma in the last few games. He started off strongly then hit some poor form but hopefully he's hungry to impress during the run-in.

3.) 12 Apr 2024 16:22:39
Maeda done his hamstring. That could be a massive blow of he's out for the remainder. Especially against that mob.

29 Mar 2024 12:39:33
I read that Callum McGregor was absent from training this morning.
Scales, Hatate and even Nawrocki trained.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 29 Mar 2024 14:54:36
I read it’s been confirmed that Calmac will miss Sunday but he has a “very good chance” of making the Ibrox match.

28 Mar 2024 12:36:39
It's looking like Calmac, Hatate and Scales are all available for selection.
That was being hinted during a Celtic TV interview with Brendan.
But who will they be risked on the plastic pitch?

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 28 Mar 2024 16:03:45
That pitch would be a gamble but 3 points are a must so it'll be interesting.

2.) 28 Mar 2024 17:47:27
I'm sure there was talk of a behind closed doors games during the international break for some of our players coming back from injury. Does anyone know if this happened?

{Ed007's Note - I know we played a bounce game against St. Mirren last Wednesday.}

07 Mar 2024 16:48:35
No word today about Callum's scan yesterday.

I don't know if that's a positive or a negative before Brendan's pre match interview tomorrow.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 07 Mar 2024 18:24:56
He's crucial imo especially against sevco where he normally dominates them.

2.) 08 Mar 2024 15:16:48
The scan came back as inconclusive.
Maybe that’s good news because nothing has showed up which was needing a 2nd scan.

Hopefully Calmac is back after the International break but we couldn’t have a worse match to play before Ibrox.
( plastic surface at Livingston )

3.) 08 Mar 2024 18:22:38
He bosses them buzz ????.

06 Mar 2024 17:42:43
The SFA have cited Brendan about his VAR remarks on Sunday and the hearing will take place on Thursday March 28th.

The Minimum suspension would be at least a 2 match ban.
If he's found guilty, he will miss the games away to Livingston and the Ibrox match, at least.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 06 Mar 2024 19:34:26
No surprise that they wait something like 28 days after the fact and less than 2 weeks before the Sevco game before they have the hearing why not have it this week? If I was Celtic I would go in top lawyer heavy and don't leave any
stone unturned. Time to call out the SFA AND THE LANARKSHIRE MOB.

2.) 06 Mar 2024 21:43:10
Don't be surprised that they apoint cheatin for the game on the 7th just to rub salt in.

Celtic only lost 3 competitive games in our 1966/ 67 season.
Twice to Dundee Utd 3-2 and a 1-0 defeat away to Yugoslavian side Vojvodina.

On this date in 1967,
Celtic lost at home to Dundee Utd 3-2,which turned out to be a good thing because Celtic won the league at Ibrox only 3 days later.

Similar to our 7 in a row season, when we didn't mind getting beat at Easter Road.
Celtic won the title in our next game 5-0 against the latest Ibrox club.

Celtic also beat Real Madrid and Man Utd in Friendlies that season.
But we did lose one other non competitive match against Dinamo Zagreb.

Celtic got beat 1-0 to a late winner at home to Zagreb in February 1967.
The match was played in preparation for our next European opponents Vojvodina.

Dinamo Zagreb went on to beat Leeds Utd 2-0 in the 1967 Fairs Cup Final over 2 legs.

Hearts got us at a good time when they last visited Celtic Park in December.
We were having internal problems, with our Ultras were either banned or boycotting the match.

Hearts had lost 22 of their previous 23 league visits to Celtic Park from 2009.

In May 2009 Celtic bottled the league title, when we had goalless draws away to Hibs and then Hearts on the last day of the season at Celtic Park.

In the next 14.5 years,
Celtic won 22 home league games against Hearts out of their 23 visits.
The only other exception was another goalless draw in 2015.

Hopefully that was a freak result in December and Hearts continue to struggle in front of our brilliant Ultras supporters.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 02 May 2024 13:15:24
We definitely owe them one.

2.) 02 May 2024 13:56:42
Hearts have also played at Ibrox 24 times in the league since 2009 and have came away undefeated 8 times.

That shows how much a graveyard Celtic Park has been for Hearts over the years, trying to pick up points.

3.) 02 May 2024 17:47:41
Celtic will need to watch Shankland like a hawk.

Shankland has recently scored a goal every 68 minutes against Celtic, since he came on as a sub and scored a hat trick in our 4-3 victory.
( 6 goals in 409 minutes since )

He’s scored in his last 3 games against us.
Shankland has also scored in 4 out of his last 5 games against Celtic.
He was injured in a couple of meetings in between.

4.) 02 May 2024 19:37:57
I see A J is mentioned as a top tackler in the Champions League .
The real interesting thing about that is that especially in recent weeks A J hasn’t made any of his trademark tackles . I think this must be because BR and coaches are correctly warning every player before domestic matches that any interaction with opponent will result in a free against Celtic and possible card.
I think it’s unfair to say things like Celtic midfield were bullied or that Celtic players can’t tackle, similarly Celtic team is soft, I think we all need 11 Celts on pitch for whole match.

Celtic will need to be on our toes early against Hearts on Saturday.

Since last March,
Hearts have scored an early 1st goal 4 times in Glasgow.
( twice at Celtic Park and twice at Ibrox )

Shankland scored in the 1st and 5th minute at Ibrox.
Shankland also scored in the 15th minute at Celtic Park, with Ginnelly also scoring the opening goal in the 6th minute in our 3-1 win.

In Hearts 5th league visit to Glasgow since last March, they conceded an early goal and got hammered 5-0 at Ibrox.

Hopefully Celtic can also get a fast start on Saturday and not give Hearts anything to hold on too.

1.) 02 May 2024 10:55:20
Every game gives me the fear mostly due to conceding daft goals and not killing teams off.

2.) 02 May 2024 12:37:57
Maklythetally, How can the team have confidence and play well when its supporters post regularly about having the fear .
No matter how we feel, it would be a lot better for team, if we spoke of our hope& confidence of success.

3.) 02 May 2024 13:10:43
I think some supporters are reacting to what they see every week.
A team struggling to defend crosses and keep clean sheets, a team with several players well below their true form and players that are being unfairly and unevenly treated by officials which is bound to affect attitude and decision making.
The team shouldn't be affected by negative posts on here but hopefully by defiant encouragement and support at the stadia.

4.) 02 May 2024 13:17:50
Am quite sure my comments won't affect their confidence in anyway shape or form. my reasons are real and the problems have been going on all season.

5.) 04 May 2024 00:23:31
Mallythetally . I agree your comments in themselves, won't affect confidence or performance on the pitch, but I feel the more negative posts that are posted , the more Celtic spectators at the game are likely to have read them and these posts create an atmosphere of fear and lacking in confidence. Spectators at game, if match is going well for Celtic remembers reading negative posts and confidence disappears amongst our fans who start to take it out on some players.

Kevin Clancy is our referee on Saturday against Hearts.
Nick Walsh will be doing VAR.

Clancy hasn't had a game involving Celtic or Sevco since he was in charge of our 2-0 home defeat to Hearts in December.
( referee or VAR )

I mentioned on the SPFL posts yesterday that I had a feeling Crawford Allen would bring Clancy in from the cold.

I also mentioned Clancy had another Championship match appointment only a few days ago, with the Arbroath V Queens Park game.

I had a feeling Clancy would get his 1st game involving the Top 2 this calendar year, especially since he only gave 3 fouls against Hearts in that 2-0 defeat in December.
( Three Fouls )

I can read Crawford Allen like a book.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 30 Apr 2024 13:10:39
Scottish elite referees work from two sets of laws . For Celtic any interaction by Celtic with an opponent is a foul possible card . When an opponent has a full blooded, John Greig, type tackle this often results in a Celtic free .
No doubt Clancy hasn’t cheated Celtic this year, as he hasn’t been involved . Crawford Allan must be satisfied that with Sevco’s coach as VAR official, Walsh will be able to keep Clancy right .
Off course many if not all Celtic players can’t tackle, they are afraid to go into a tackle as they know Sevco’s elite referees can’t wait to give a foul / card . I am sure BR and coaches are reminding the players how easy it is for a Celtic player to be sent off. The Celtic players deserve great praise for keeping on winning this season, despite having to restrain themselves from tackling.

2.) 01 May 2024 17:54:05
Buzz Bomb . Are u expert in reading Crawford Allan like a book or can u read a bigoted anti Celtic pro Sevco biased Mason . Who will never forget his brothers.

One year ago tomorrow,
Celtic once again beat Sevco comfortably enough at Hampden, although it was only 1-0.

Our lineup yesterday had 8 players that started that match one year ago.

The only players missing were Jota, Starfelt and Maeda.
Maeda could make it 9 players this Saturday if he's fit.

Forrest never made the bench one year ago at Hampden, although he was fit and available and yet he was the massive difference and won Celtic the game yesterday.

The question now is what has happened to this team.

Our recruitment this season has been abysmal and that has prevented improvement.

But the vast majority of our Treble winning team were on display yesterday and the regression was plain to see.

Another Question,
Do you still want Brendan as our manager if he wins us another title?

Personally I would give him another chance to get decent players in but it's alarming how poor we are, with players who were good enough last season.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 29 Apr 2024 13:08:57
Most of the players were suited Ange's tactics, that's why Kyogo looks a shadow of the player he was under Ange. Brendan tactics are too slow for me, I want a manager who doesn't advocate playing from out the back, and doesn't play Maeda?.

2.) 29 Apr 2024 17:36:29
Maeda would be one of the first names I would put on team sheet, as we don’t know what to expect, he disrupts opponents all over pitch and can score or create out of nothing . Kyogo should be able to adopt to. BR tactics, but I think his main problem is that he isn’t making chances for himself and isn’t scoring from many chances, team are not feeding him as much, because he isn’t accurate enough . Cal McGregor is attracting closer marking than previous yrs and isn’t capable of freeing himself and contributing enough . A period of coming on near end may suit him better. I think that all 3 midfielders MO’R, Hatate and Cal form suffers, if one of them is off form . Hopefully an in form Iwata can lift form of Hatata and MO’R.

Better than Bobby Madden or Andrew Dallas.

You were right Ed about starting Iwata.

I’m delighted that Calmac has made our bench.
We now have 4 guys on the bench today, that came through our youths many years ago and know what it’s all about if needed.

If Calmac does come on in the 2nd half, it will be further up the park because Brendan won’t risk bringing Calmac on for Iwata with 30 minutes to go, for him to pull up injured shortly after.
Then we are screwed in that crucial position.

At least he can easily be replaced with Bernardo ETC, if he replaces Hatate in the 2nd half further up the park.

I fancy 2-1 Celtic and Kyogo to get his usual goal against them.

Buzz Bomb 10

{Ed007's Note - I'm sticking with my 3-1 prediction, Kyogo, Tav (pen), Kuhn, and Idah to get a late(ish) 3rd ?

I’m delighted with the starting lineup with the players we had available.

A victory and no more injuries would be superb.

I fancy Celtic to score 3 goals in a 3-0 or 3-1 victory.

It’s also good that Yang and Nawrocki made the bench?.

Scales has been a near ever present this season and he will be one of the main reasons, if we manage to retain our title.

According to Salary Sport,
Scales is on £5k a week basic, which is well below average for a player getting a regular start in our 1st team.

Scales deserves to triple his wages and he will be great cover for left CB and our left back positions.

Haring has only played One game in the last 7 months through injury.

Boyce hasn’t played since December and it’s been confirmed his season is over.
Halkett hasn’t played since February and his season is also finished.
