Where are the rumours of Ross Barkley to Celtic, coming from : because he followed Joe Hart on his Instagram?

peterBoy

1.) 08 Aug 2022 09:38:51
He'd be a great signing plays the 10 role, but seems a non starter.

2.) 08 Aug 2022 12:36:56
I see a lot of people saying we need a player that plays a No: 10 role but do we?
a No:10 role is better in a 4-2-3-1 formation where he sits behind the main striker but Ange doesn't play that way, I see it as our 3 midfielders are very fluid in support of the defence and attack so I can't see where a No:10 would fit in.

3.) 08 Aug 2022 16:06:00
Barkley rumours are barking up the wrong tree.

4.) 08 Aug 2022 16:14:00
Our front 3 can all swap with each other and that keeps the opposition on their toes.

5.) 08 Aug 2022 20:44:45
He'd be a cut above the rest of the league but I can't see it.

{Ed007's Note - I've asked Ed002 if he knows anything about this and I'll update it if/when he gets back to me. As I said on the pod last night, Lampard would like to take Barkley back to Everton but there are others at the club totally against it, Fulham may offer an option.}

6.) 09 Aug 2022 08:46:21
He was an outstanding young player but that was years ago. Who are we leaving out for him. Hatate never, O'Riley never or our captain, never. Never ever a starter for me. It is the usual clickbait nonsense, his wages would be ridiculous, well out if our structure.

13 May 2022 11:33:02
I see there an instagram post from Big Tam - is he leaving us?

peterBoy

1.) 13 May 2022 12:08:00
Peter,
Celtic announced this morning that both Bitton and Rogic will be leaving at the end of the season.

2.) 13 May 2022 12:28:16
Gutted about rogic, think he still has plenty to offer.

3.) 13 May 2022 13:35:23
Ed
Suppose Big Tam will be leaving for nothing like Bitton.

{Ed007's Note - Looks like it mate.}

4.) 13 May 2022 14:26:34
Really surprised about the news about Tom but I wish him well in his future he was a great player for us.

5.) 13 May 2022 14:35:21
Both players still have One year left on their contracts.
I would be slightly surprised if both players were allowed to leave, without a small transfer fee being involved.
It’s maybe a 10 year thank you from Celtic to both players because I suppose Bitton and Rogic will get a good signing on fee from their new clubs, as free agents.

6.) 13 May 2022 16:26:48
Is it 10 years that a player is due a testimonial? Maybe a good way of maybe big last payday as a signing on fee from a free transfer?

7.) 13 May 2022 18:26:26
I read they both had a 1 Yr option on there contracts and both asked to leave and are going with best wishes from the club.

8.) 13 May 2022 23:41:28
Actually gutted about Rogic. On his day an amazing player and still think he would have something to offer. But obviously some big changes next season.

9.) 14 May 2022 00:08:44
Rogic has provided some fond memories but I honestly don't think either of them fit into Ange's system.

16 May 2021 18:54:16
afternoon to all you Fine ladies and gents. I was talking to a guy- he says we have or just about to sign the LB Souleyman Doumbia

from FC angers ( ligue1 )

lets see how THAT info works out.

peterBoy

1.) 16 May 2021 21:46:50
No chance we will get him, the talk is he is away to Southampton.

2.) 16 May 2021 21:56:29
The likes of Nice and Lyon are after him to so there’s no chance he’s coming to Celtic.

3.) 17 May 2021 11:43:51
And Messi is also about to sign. I was talking to him last night. As soon as you read clubs in better league's paying three times thecwsges are also in the running, you just shrug and say well that's feckin thst then. Or you should.

4.) 17 May 2021 11:51:56
Don't know anything about this player but it appears he's widely travelled across France, Switzerland and Italy in his short career (mainly B teams) and racked up approx 35 games in the last 3 seasons.

5.) 17 May 2021 12:01:19
Every time someone posts a rumour there's always a few jumping on it with sarcasm and negativity. It's no like the it has said it's a definite. He posted what he heard from someone be else. It's like there's a pleasure taken in shooting another down!?

6.) 17 May 2021 12:08:04
No wonder folk hardly put up anything they hear in here. Bhoy puts up a story he gets told and gets ridiculed. Pathetic.

7.) 17 May 2021 12:38:21
I agree SOS and Auf. Just because a player is being linked to teams in the press doesn't mean we won't sign him. It's left field, and therefore could be true.

8.) 17 May 2021 13:30:46
It's a Rumours page unless you're Hoops88 😄🤣😂.

9.) 17 May 2021 13:47:26
Aye it is a rumour oage, but dies thatvmean we can't discuss the likelihood of them happening? 99.999% of them turn out to be nothing more than a bud to give journos something to write. I want good players in, but also accept when it's a competition with richer clubs in better league's it is odds on they go there. The need to have a high profile manager is vital as players will come more readily, than if we had Lennedy of any of the others from here mentioned. If the lad in question is the real deal then we all want him and others of that Ilk, that doen't mean we see a name and think he's coming and that's the end of it. Who saud it, who else us in for him, how much will he cost, what will we pay are all factors and deserve to be heard.

24 Jun 2020 19:23:40
I see Lenny is at the Newcastle Vs Aston Villa game ( on comms )
Who is he really looking at to sign?

peterBoy

1.) 24 Jun 2020 20:02:38
Hopefully nobody.

2.) 24 Jun 2020 20:35:11
Grealish 60 mill and he's ours 👍.

3.) 24 Jun 2020 21:15:48
John Mc Ginn.

29 Nov 2019 14:45:37
Was talking to a mate today: he has corporate tickets etc etc :
He told me that he had heard from a “ very good source “ that Callum McGregor “ is off in January.
He anyone else heard this?

peterBoy

1.) 29 Nov 2019 15:20:45
Did he not just sign a new 5 yr deal.

2.) 29 Nov 2019 15:33:55
@ Jonbhoy1 : He did mate but that would only increase the amount we would get IF we sold him.

3.) 29 Nov 2019 16:32:32
He won't be sold in January. Seems strange that your 'mate' knows he leaving but doesn't mention a club.

4.) 29 Nov 2019 16:57:32
He did, it was to LCFC - Re Ratface - BR
its BR that wants him.

5.) 29 Nov 2019 19:57:37
Can't see it. Calmac will want 1st team football with euros coming up and midfield is strongest area for Scotland. Not guaranteed to start in the Leicester team.

6.) 29 Nov 2019 20:05:01
Callum McGregor will be the next Celtic captain and be a lifetime Celt in my opinion.

{Ed007's Note - Just like KT was going to be.}

7.) 29 Nov 2019 21:17:17
My money's on Christie if Cal Mac heads off but the way he's playing it could easily be both of them.

8.) 30 Nov 2019 09:38:10
If Celtic board sanction the sale of McGregor in January. It proves it's bank balance over football.
Not that I need convinced, just the board apologists. he's on a 5yr deal, we have money in bank. No excuses.

9.) 30 Nov 2019 13:35:04
EVERY player has his price not just for Celtic and depending on who comes in for the player might unsettle him for a move even though he might not have thought of it before. And I have said before IF he gets unsettled with the offer and the offer is a good deal for the club then we can't stop it or it will be harder to bring in quality players if they think they won't get a move that they want sadly in most cases loyalty to the one club is scarce more so if you are really good.

10.) 30 Nov 2019 13:37:27
Peter Bhoy there's a great chance Rodgers will get the Arsenal job and I don’t see him taking Calmac or Ajer to Arsenal which is good news for us .

{Ed007's Note - Marcelino has already been asked if he would be open to working with the current Arsenal squad. The thing is they have no money to spend over the next couple of windows after dipping into their savings to bankroll Emery.}

11.) 30 Nov 2019 18:02:53
Cal mac will only be sold if he doesn't want to be here.
Just the same as KT.
For me any player that doesn't want to be here should be shipped out anyway.

12.) 30 Nov 2019 18:06:32
Rodgers would be stupid to go arsenal. McGregor will most likely leave at some point and Leicester is an obvious possibility. You don't need 'insider info' to know that. But I would be surprised if it's in January unless it's silly money or he kicks up a fuss. Which I doubt. Summer is a real possibility though.

13.) 30 Nov 2019 19:25:06
DRA1967 I honestly don’t know why you bother supporting Celtic nothing in any of your posts are positive 9/ 9 trophies going for nine titles in a row just won the Europa cup group a final next week why can’t you just enjoy what we are achieving just now instead of cheap shots at Lawwell and the board and anything Celtic .

14.) 01 Dec 2019 14:23:10
I'd be amazed if Rodgers went to Arsenal so soon after being a rat at Celtic. He has Leicester playing very well and it's clear he's enjoying where he is. Mind you, he said he was happy here until he changed his mind lol.
The Gunners job won't appeal to too many decent quality managers at the minute and certainly not a manager with ambition which is what Rodgers says took him to Leicester in the first place. I think he'd do his credibility a lot of harm if he walked out on Leicester so soon even if he did make Arsenal into a top team again. HH.

The 2nd half performance was probably the best complete 2nd half this season :
As we all know our 1st half is norm our best, but to produce that under the pressure they were, shows we can still win the Title and I tell you what, from where we were to now, should we win it, it will be the best in a long time.

Hi folks - what’s your thoughts on Signing Bernardo - Permanently- Do we have an option on his loan deal and do we know what the buy clause is?

peterBoy

1.) 02 Jan 2024 21:03:53
He is fitting in well and definitely worth buying. He has taken his opportunity well and we will need him with Hatate heading off.

Good investment I think but I hope he isn't one of the one or two BR said would be coming in.

2.) 02 Jan 2024 21:09:02
Peter,
I would say yes after his recent performances.

There’s been different reports, from only £2 Million to €6 Million but I’m sure there’s a buy clause included.

{Ed007's Note - As far as I know the buy out is €6.5 million but with a hefty sell-on similar to the Jota deal.}

3.) 02 Jan 2024 21:17:45
I read recently that the agreed fee is between £1.5m and £2m although I have seen other people say it is around £6m or even some say it could be £7m I have a feeling these higher amounts are being mentioned as that it is what it cost for Jota

Does anyone know how we could find out for sure what the actual figure is?

As regards to signing him now he has actually started going forward it has given him a new dimension, previously while being decent in possession he only seemed to pass sideways or back. I think he is very good at pressing so suits us perfectly and if he keeps progressing the way he has over last three games then I think we sign him for sure.

4.) 02 Jan 2024 21:39:28
A Scottish reporter recently mentioned only £1.5M to £2 M but your €6.5M Ed is more realistic.

Today is my first drink since Boxing Day,
Another treble to drink too,
Derby victory, New Year and a St. Mirren win. ?.

{Ed007's Note - Who reported it? Google "Paulo Bernardo 1.5" and see what comes up.}

5.) 02 Jan 2024 22:02:11
It was “football Scotland “ who reported it.

{Ed007's Note - And that was in September. The lad is contracted to Benfica until 2027, Buzz so surely they will be looking for more than £1.5 million and could have got that in the summer from someone, even from us or another team in Portugal. £1.5 million would have been worth the gamble when we're sitting in over £70 million, it just doesn't make any sense, loaning a player that's valued at £1.5m would be the most Daddy Lawwell thing I've ever seen!
Can we count Bernardo as a project that's worked out and put a W in the recruitment team's column?}

6.) 02 Jan 2024 22:34:27
Ed.
I always agree with you ??.

{Ed007's Note - You know better! ??

7.) 02 Jan 2024 23:49:22
I hate when SMSM spread misinformation about our better players leaving, but it is even worse when our supporters seem to think when a player plays well he is bound to want to go . Both SMSM are bound to have an unsettling effect.

8.) 03 Jan 2024 07:00:28
Football Scotland is a sevco site masquerading as a Scottish football site and is often involved in schadenfreude towards Celtic.

I always avoid it and never trust it.

9.) 03 Jan 2024 13:00:09
Get him signed only 21 and can only get better.

05 Aug 2023 10:54:12
TinyTim - I have said for years - it started with millionaires owning clubs now billionaires and trillionairs - what happens when they get bored with the game?

peterBoy

1.) 05 Aug 2023 11:42:48
I was always wary of squillionares who apparently had no knowledge or interest in football, or indeed the clubs they bought and suspected it was a way to shunt cash or an extravagant flashy hobby?
after the Saudi's get fed up it could even be Martians, but there's nae atmosphere at their games.

04 Aug 2023 20:06:29
Hi folks - just my take on this thought :
IF and that’s a big if - Harry Kane leaves Spurs,
I think Ange could come in for KYOGO-
( £30m circa ) and that could be to big an offer to refuse -
As I said it’s just my take on the situation.

peterBoy

1.) 04 Aug 2023 20:37:04
If they're buying kyogo to replace kane I'd be looking for a lot more than that.

2.) 04 Aug 2023 21:03:49
Sorry as much as I like Kyogo he's not good enough to replace Kane ?‍♂️.

{Ed007's Note - Kyogo probably speaks better English than Harry Kane to be fair.}

3.) 04 Aug 2023 21:37:59
Not a chance think the 100m will be spent on someone better.

{Ed007's Note - Someone like Oh?}

4.) 04 Aug 2023 22:19:17
Morelos still available.

5.) 05 Aug 2023 11:17:36
Did anyone see the open letter fao of the CEO at Bayern Munich, written by one of the columnists at BILD earlier in the week?

It both critised their clubs pursuit of Kane as well as slating the player himself.

? ? ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

25 Aug 2022 14:23:55
ED: I think we have to say a MASSIVE thx to the board - Mr Nic has done some great deals, to back Ange ???.

peterBoy

{Ed007's Note - Fair play to Nicholson but we've still to see who replaces Bankier.}

1.) 25 Aug 2022 18:01:13
Lawell probably.

{Ed007's Note - Let's hope not.}

2.) 25 Aug 2022 18:10:45
IF it IS Lawwell we will be replacing a BANKIER with a W**KER.

3.) 25 Aug 2022 18:13:42
Don’t let Lawell anywhere near us he will start his dithering cheapskate rubbish that cost us tens of millions because we went into every CL qualification without a defence. Great businessman my erse.

4.) 25 Aug 2022 18:28:07
Ha ha ha vary good. I hope your right ed but I have a sneaky feeling that he wants back at Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - I seen a couple of people on social media getting their knickers in a twist because there were pics of Lawwell going into CP to watch game the other week and no doubt there will be more kicker twisting that Pedro was at the CL draw earlier.}

The reason for the downturn in performance on the pitch?

He never brought backroom staff with him, so maybe he knows he can work with them and that being the case it’s a hell of a step up for them.

It could come down to the game where we play them at Parkhead - that’s about 6 or 7 games away - now if we don’t win all of them and they do - that’s the title.
