Going to move on from today. Plenty has been said.

Moving forward we need to pick our best players. BR must know by now that he can't trust Scales and Yang. Yang isn't just poor going forward he is a massive liability tracking back. Scales played well till Xmas. But you can clearly see he has lost all confidence.

Time for some key Decisions Brendan and you need to make these calls or the league will be in danger.

We also need a bit more cohesion in midfield. It's as if they are all playing on their own rather that a system. We don't look like a unit. We need to sharpen up. We have no dig in midfield so we need to be much more joined up.

Not sure what we can do with wide players but you need to pick 2 from Forrest, Kune and Palma.

Kyogo has lost confidence and he is taking too many touches. Ned to start Idah and bring the wee man on.

If Calmac isn't for enough we have to leave him out.

I feel if we play like that in our next league game we will be in bother.

Come on Brendan. we need to do much better.

Unreservedly so but Scales gives me the fear anytime he has the ball I don't know why because he hasn't done that much wrong but he slows the game down to much for me. Yang he has had his chance IMO there is a player there but hasn't shown it in any quantity I think a lot of players should leave this summer and sadly we need a few good ones brought in.

2.) 21 Apr 2024 00:12:06
I thought Scales was our best defender for about an hour . As he may have tired having been out for a few weeks Celtic and a previously very good AJ allowed too much time and space to the Dons to put in very good quality crosses between back 4 and Hart . Unless we stop this flow of crosses and shots the final mins, we will need to be 2/ 3 goals in front towards end. It wouldn’t matter who was playing left sided cb if we allow quality crosses.

Lots of positives from today.

A bit more fight and fitness/ energy and we can win the league. First time I have said that for 6 months!

These things lacking should be easily sorted. Although, I do think we seem out of puff for the last 20 minutes of lots of games. We also need a bit more grit.

If they don't get their usual penalty at a crucial time today (as always) they don't get back in the match.

First games in months. Just can't stomach the poor team on show the past few months. blood pressure rising every game.

5 or 6 of our team played well against a shockingly poor opponent. Good news was that Kyogo is building up his confidence. Sharpest I have seen him in a while. Probably the best we have played for a while. CCV was immense. Need a fit Hatate and calmac back and we might have a chance. Big Joe been very good the past few weeks but the punching when he does come off his line is letting him down. The front line were all good.

Nice to see Liewell absent again. The guys that sit beside me say he hasn't showed for the last 3 games. the strong information is that he is "standing down" in May. Resigning same as his boy did. The other talk today is that BR is staying for next season. I struggle to get that but the information supplier is well connected over the water.

celt65

1.) 16 Mar 2024 21:54:51
Liewell needs to go asap.

2.) 16 Mar 2024 22:24:54
I hope that James is true and lawwell is gone soon. He has overstayed his welcome and his attacks on our fans have been a disgrace.

3.) 17 Mar 2024 08:51:44
Thanks celt65, I hope you're right re Smugwell and wrong re Rogers. He gives me the vibes his heart isn't in it.

4.) 17 Mar 2024 09:30:28
Continually use Lawwell for your scapegoat. What about the rest of the board lads?

5.) 17 Mar 2024 10:18:00
It was fine until peter came out of the shadows and the fan persecution and biscuit tin came back with him.

I'm creating a new post on our centre backs

Having watched Willie Gardiner and Frank Munro in the mid 10970's at ibrox. I have to say Welch is up there with these two.

Too wee to be a CB. Can't tackle. No positional sense? No pace. Distribution terrible.

I could go on.

How does he get near a Celtic jersey. Spare my he is a Celtic man. No more than me. but I m not up to playing for Celtic.

Get rid of these imposters ruining our club.

Play the Swede. can't be any worse than me ?.

celt65

1.) 13 Mar 2024 08:04:38
Scales has been our most consistent defender and welch needs a run of games to get up to speed.
Know what you mean but the guys give 100%.
Wouldn't say any player a stand out at the moment.
In fact Wouldn't like to nominate a player of the year as most players been inconsistent.

2.) 13 Mar 2024 08:41:19
You could go through the whole Celtic squad and make comparisons to players and teams gone by and the blame for the downgrading and cheap replicas lies with our self-harming Board - especially since 2012. They have never consolidated or improved us from a position of strength or financial advantage. Selling top players for huge profit and replacing with projects or poor imitations.
The major shareholder and Chairman are too immersed in business and financial statements while neglecting and abusing the football side. Taking the supporters (cash) for granted while vilifying or banning sections inside Celtic Park as a smokescreen to conceal their incompetence, complacency and mismanagement.

3.) 13 Mar 2024 10:13:32
Pretty much sums up our club but this eternal connection to the “old firm” brand makes things so much more sinister. None of the decision making by supposed successful businessmen make any sense, at least not the ordinary fans. There is always the niggling doubt that something else is going on. Conspiracies or not, things just don’t add up.

4.) 13 Mar 2024 10:18:47
Are the centre backs lacking confidence because they know that big Joe will stand statuesque like most of the time and won't command his area unless it's to throw the ball out when trying to play the ball forward, when suddenly he wants to have the ball played back to him instead of letting the ball be played forward, if only he had the same desire to grab the ball when the opposition were in possession.

5.) 13 Mar 2024 13:51:00
I like Joe Hart, but his reflexes are slowing down and I know he made a great stop with his foot on Sunday, but we are conceding too many and a lot of them leave him helplessly rooted to the spot.
There's no doubt the defense has been culpable but a solid last line of defense must be a priority for next season.

6.) 13 Mar 2024 14:11:55
aindoh, we all know you are not a fan of Hart and like most of the team he’s had his ups and downs but in the past few weeks without his saves we would be well behind them.

7.) 13 Mar 2024 14:26:34
Joe Hart has been our best player since the winter break.

03 Mar 2024 21:05:29
That result was on the recruitment team.

For the first time since the early 1990's every team that plays against us feels they can win.

McInness Kilmarnock done is twice. naysmiths hearts . done us 2-0 hon and away!

Pathetic group of players. never a team. No dig, no competitiveness, no desire, no passion.

Not their fault. team is woeful. Only an inform Macgregor and Kyogo are with keeping.

We need at least 12 first team players for next terra.

Liewell . Thankfully is going. "Resigning" in May. Please let's chase this charlatan out before then. An utter nonentity.

The only good news is he won't be able to hold his head up in Celtic company again.

We should have improved year on year since 2012 but with his incompetence we are a mess and behind a skint club . Who sacked their manager earlier in the season. Digest that one!

Time for action Celtic fans.

celt65

1.) 03 Mar 2024 21:39:16
Time for action will be at the end of the season, win or lose.

The team have already been disrupted this season with fans getting banned and they didn’t respond well.

14 points worse off than last season would suggest, this season is on the recruitment team amongst many others.

I do however sympathise with the players today.
They did show fight and desire with one hand tied behind their backs but they did lack Quality.

Celtic are not any worse off this weekend, after a very difficult fixture and a bent VAR official.
We now move on to our next fixture.

2.) 03 Mar 2024 22:39:57
I think somebody smells like an undercover sevvie trying to sow the seeds of discontent ??‍♂️?.

3.) 04 Mar 2024 19:13:36
Big P

Clueless, baseless and ignorant response.

Wouldn’t waste another second on you, so don’t respond to me again.

Not remotely up to it… not even worth our usual £3m offering. Don’t know how he gets in the team.

Maybe…. My son mentioned he has played an unusually low amount of games for his age as well.

Might be his fitness that has cost him. With education and military requirements in Japan they are around 20 before they can start playing for real.

Let’s Hope he hits the deck running and plays every game from next week onwards till seasons end. He could make the difference for us….

celt65

{Ed007's Note - Having CCV, Hatate and hopefully a refreshed CalMac available for the run could be crucial in securing the league and possibly the Scottish Cup as well for us. With those 3 available I'm even more confident that the league flag will stay where it has been for the majority of most of our lives ?

Top player… maybe the best in Scotland. Fitness a big challenge for him. He can’t get a decent run of games and when he is playing…. dead on his feet around 60 minutes. I make it his 4th long spell out injured in two seasons. When you add in his absence for internationals… something will need to improve if we want to keep him.

Some players don’t have fitness or energy…. usually gifted ones. Unfortunately he seems to be in this category.

celt65

{Ed007's Note - Hatate was 24 when we signed him and he hadn't even played 70 professional games - has the intensity of the training & the Scottish game played a part in his injury problems?}

Spot on.

I first noted how tired we were when AM ran over the top of us in second half in Madrid… and thought ok they are a top side.

But Ross County, Aberdeen and Hibs last night. Something not right on the fitness front. Could be players are not quite at it. It’s hard to go 90 mins and when you are not fully motivated, you can feel the tiredness more readily. Also, just like any job, sickness levels always rise when morale is low.

Who knows what the real issue (s) is but something not right…. and we are struggling to compete and keep players fit.

Well done Timalloy,

Great advice and thanks for taking the time to say it. Highlighting the benefits of going to doctors/ hospital on time and when you need to is a great motivation. You also described the downside of not doing it.

Let’s all embrace your great advice.

Hope you continue to get better each passing day.

Hail Hail.

Fair shout…, but not sure BR would do that.

I also think Idah and a a good impact sub rather than starting.

But you are spot on Tav is a danger going forward so somebody needs to press him. Who? Forrest, Palms, Kune. Hmmm not sure we have someone. But I would go with Kune and then Forest for last 15 minutes.

More importantly we need to play our own game and bury them in the first 45.

Yes for sure. Another one for the long list is of not up to it/ waste of money list.

We need to undertake a review of what went wrong with our player signing process and ensure it never happens again. Even by our poor standards that last year has been unprecedentedly inept.

In my view the problems at Celtic are a lot deeper than an individual or two.

We need to change the business model and change the culture at Celtic.

We need new leadership at Chair, CEO and throughout the board.

We need a football structure- DOF, scouting and new coaches.

We need to modernise our training facilities and player welfare.

We are not fit for purpose at the minute…. So we need a complete restructuring.

Whilst not above criticism, I don’t see Rodgers as the main problem as the players he has at his disposal haven’t been up to it.
