New username since I forgot my password lol!
It’s KenLikeEh for anyone that remembers me!
Also, noticed we are in for Tosin Adarabiyo. That would be a quality signing in my opinion. 6ft 5 monster of a boy. Sign him up.

Celtic will fight it out with wolves for Niko Sigur. While also still heavily interested in Gvidas Ginetis. Good to see we are not putting all our eggs in one basket for Engles replacement.
I think any move for Miguel Chaiwa would only be if we fail to get any of our top targets.
We are also keeping tabs on Ermin Mahmic but any move for him would only be sanctioned if we lose Nygren with plenty of teams across Europe interested in his services.
Although he played for blackburn last night the deal for Goalkeeper Balázs Tóth looks like it will go through, with personal terms already agreed. £4 million fee been mentioned.
Landon Emenalo looking Likley to sign. Only thing holding this back is a injury he has with Celtic waiting to see if that clears up before green lighting the move.
Celtic are open to loaning out Tounetki and bringing another Left winger in if they can.

If young Sigur has any ambition then we'll see him in Paradise within the next fortnight.

Why have we not even enquired about Patrik Berg from Bodo Glimt?, he is exactly the player we need in our midfield at the moment and he is only 27, he is better than the other midfield players we are being linked with, if we are willing to go to £10m for the Lithuanian boy, spend it on Berg.
16 Aug 2026 16:11:07
Although I'd love to see Berg in the Hoops, I'm guessing he doesn't fit our player signing model?
HH.

Berg left Bodo before and it never worked out. He came back and has been a star player for them. If he left and it didn’t work out again and is reliant on Bodo taking him in, it might be seen as cheeky to a degree.
Maybe he’s comfortable there and earning a solid wage.
{Ed007's Note - I might be wrong but I'm sure Berg's partner didn't settle in France and Franck Haise's tendency not to trust players who hadn't played in the French league until they had proven themselves made up his mind to return to Norway.
I'd be surprised if Berg would even consider leaving Bodo/Glimt again, but of he did in the next 6/12 months I'd hope Celtic would be trying to get him - maybe Glasgow would suit his Mrs better.}

Good news boys the legend that is balikwisha could be for the off, couple of teams want him feck knows why but hopefully he's for the off.
15 Aug 2026 12:12:02
Mally, when we get the details I'll drive him to the airport and collect you en route to make sure he gets on the plane.

Will hold the memory of that assist against motherwell until he's gone ?.

Looking at the paper talk, twitter etc it’s fair to say we are looking at brining in a utility man (we know O’Neill loves them) and a box to box midfielder, left back is close, keeper is close. I think we would need to go back to O’neills first 2 seasons where we signed players and you could see the jigsaw take shape, strachan possibly as well, but since then it’s been square pegs in round holes. I think all supporters would agree we need to sell some players at their financial selling peak, however it must be with a plan to replace. Engels going is huge but not negative and if we get the replacements in the fans will back it.
I just hope Maloney is watching how O’Neill gets what he wants and uses the same method if he takes over as manager, also I firmly believe O’neill was subtlety leaking to someone to leak to the press in order to pressure the board.
Thoughts on all of above.

Good points made in your post Hogh9.
I was in the 'keep Engels' camp and attempt to build a team around him, now he's away, like many, I hope we can recruit at his level or better, in order to progress and move forward.
In MON we have a coach who has, as a player, club manager, international team manager and crucially, man manager, seen and done it all.
He also happens to be a very intelligent individual who can operate as comfortably at board level as he does in the dressing room.
Now, whether the purse strings being opened and the level of player we're signing in this window is solely down to MON, I can't say.
I have no doubt that young Master Maloney will be getting an education as a by product of MON being back in charge at Celtic and working with him, day in day out.
If SM were to replace MON, he would have the benefit of not only his previous experience, pre Celtic (good and bad) , as well as everything he learned last season alone, which was insane on any level.
Could MON be kept on in some capacity as a link between the team and board going forward should SM get the gig - who knows?
We have a player signing model in place which has largely been successful over several years now, our DNA as a football club has been in place since the very begining with Jock Stein setting the standard during his trophy laden tenure as manager, he set the bar in the modern era.
As several other clubs across Europe e. g. Bodo Glimt, have demonstrated, by having the correct footballing infrastructure in place to include;-
* youth developnent
* coaching
* player signing model
* the specific type of player signed
* style of play
it shouldn't matter the name of the coach who's in place at the club as he should fit the system, NOT the other way around.
Nancy was the best or worst example of how not to do this and that appointment should be a constant reminder just how quickly it can go wrong.
We have the start of those building blocks, we need the board to support the methodology and once this 'green print' is fully in place, in theory it should run like the proverbial well oiled machine.
Time will tell.

Well said pedro, I do think the pressure to win every game stiffles us for bringing in season on season lennoxtown honed talent.
There’s a massive gap between being good enough for us in do or die matches and being an u23 player in England, or even being bled into a first team in the premiership as rotation is very much the norm from 7th to relegation.
I think we may see something of a leap from Celtic in terms of results as the quality of our first 11 has considerabley improved / forecasted to improve with the additions being saught. Time will tell, but hopefully it puts all the moaners and panty wetters back in their box.

Apparently we're looking at Blackburn keeper Balázs Tóth. Ed, you heard anything about this one?
{Ed007's Note - There's definitely interest and he is a better financial option (possibly footballing wise as well tbf) than Horkas.
I'm actually surprised we are in for him as when I read a while back he had rejected a new deal at Blackburn I thought someone would in Pub League would snap him up, maybe Ipswich who were looking for a couple of GK's this summer.}
14 Aug 2026 19:34:01
He starts for Blackburn tonight.
{Ed007's Note - Mowbray did say he will continue to pick him....
14 Aug 2026 19:49:58
Nice one ed. He actually looks a decent keeper.
{Ed007's Note - ??
14 Aug 2026 20:25:50
I've read that we've agreed personal terms with the player (Toth) and that Blackburn are looking for approx £4M (fee inc add ons) .
It looks like he's an option.

Mowbray said he got a phone call on Thursday night telling him the goalkeepers getting sold. 1 year left on contract ko'd offer from Blackburn. Wants to move now so looks like it's him. Lesser fee than 4 million.
14 Aug 2026 17:06:56
Linked with bosnian midfielder Mahmic.
14 Aug 2026 22:42:20
Nicholson will pull out when he realises he is Bosnian and not Bosman. ?.
14 Aug 2026 16:46:13
Niko Sigur looks like it may be coming along. Salzburg have had bid rejected for Gvidas Gineitis. Hopefully a couple we'll bring in along with Miguel Chaiwa.
14 Aug 2026 09:26:41
Rumours of interest in French RCB Chrislain Matsima from Augsburg.
14 Aug 2026 10:26:30
Crystal Palace also looking at him.
14 Aug 2026 10:50:37
About time.
14 Aug 2026 12:02:47
This would be an excellent signing for us. If we got him, Gineitis and Mahmic, throw in a young left back with a bit of pedigree to be KT's understudy and it would genuinely be a very good window for us.
14 Aug 2026 15:02:08
We can only bring in two new players by 11pm this Tuesday for the qualifiers of the CL. I am so happy with the ones we have brought in so far I do think we need someone who can play right back if possible perhaps the Canadian player we have been interested in? Did the young lad from Chelsea sign?
14 Aug 2026 14:17:20
Chrislain Matsima valued a 22 million no chance of getting him.
14 Aug 2026 08:57:25
Engles off for 22m we will need a replacement pronto.
14 Aug 2026 10:20:01
Reports suggest we're interested in 3 or 4 midfielders Mally, I think there still more arrivals due to rock up at Paradise before the end of the month.
HH.
14 Aug 2026 11:50:03
Have a feeling Geneitis will be done relatively soon after.
14 Aug 2026 13:42:15
I know zero of the players mentioned but they all seem to fit the general profile in terms of age, ability, scope to develop, all whilst playing a role in a winning team/ squad.

13 Aug 2026 23:16:24
Is it true Celtic could be looking to sign miguel chaiwa from Hibs, I've always rated the wee guy and for 4 million I think is reasonable.
14 Aug 2026 10:20:21
100% Greengo

14 Aug 2026 14:41:37
For me I would take Niko Sigur who can play as a RB and I would get Miguel Chaiwa that's two players for about 12 million we've just sold Engels for 22 plus add ons probably take it to about 30 million get Gvidas Gineitis for 12 still go 6 million left to do for a keeper or back up the squad in another position, but that's just my logic.
