There's a beauty of a "report" on News Now about Southampton preparing 10 mill bid for Armstrong. You know, the Southampton who were (maybe) offering 3 mill for same player last Summer. That will take some topping unless the "Rodgers interested in Sturridge" stuff gains pace.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 07 Jan 2018 15:58:29
What a gift. 2 weeks ago he came on as a sub against Dundee. And Sutton slated him. Sutton as we know tries to be controversial. But he nailed him. Armstrong is a waste of a wage. Since Dundee United he has never improved. If we can get ten bob and get him off the wage bill. Take it.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 16:29:01
Tumshy do I no anything about football never heard so much nonsense in my life Stuart Armstrong is great player and much improved
P. s are you drunk.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 17:17:02
Wullie do you think that they are secretly paying posters to make stupid posts.

4.) 07 Jan 2018 18:15:25
Might be a bit touchy here Chris but hope that’s not about me, stupid rumour maybe but don’t think I’ve made a stupid post.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 18:26:46
Tumshie by name and Tumshie by nature. What a ridiculous post.

6.) 08 Jan 2018 15:54:33
Harsh on Armstrong. I'd personally be looking to move him on, but there have been spells where he's been absolutely fantastic for us.

23 Jun 2017 18:27:31
A lot of good noise about the Plasvic boy, anyone have anything more concrete than that?

Daviebhoy77

1.) 23 Jun 2017 19:13:13
On the bench tonight.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 07:49:50
Not putting the boy plavsic down and I know I've went on about this before . but if we don't give our own boys a shot them what's the point of the acadamy/ youth set up . why pay train and develop them for 6-7 years and then not see if they can do a job . with our current squad we must be more than capable of giving 2 or 3 a start at home games against the majority of our opposition . some will flourish others will be shown to fall short of what's required
But until given that chance they're just being trained for other teams to pick up on the cheap. hopefully the unbeaten run held Brendan back from introducing more last term.

3.) 24 Jun 2017 10:15:28
If he can't get a start for the U21's, especially when they're chasing the game, then that's a bit of a worry.

19 Apr 2017 23:30:34
Celtic haven't beaten Rangers in a Scottish Cup semi since 1925? Good job we're not playing them then! There can be no hoodoo beyond the memory of last year and imo, the team that played RIFC last year no longer exists either. Our team this year needs to play out their socks and put the match to bed before any honest mistakes can have any bearing on the matter.

We are preparing for CL qualification and if we can't beat this bunch of mugs then we're in trouble. Need to make it the game of the season, really hoping we hit them a dillion. Full gutty!

1.) 20 Apr 2017 14:09:29
As long as we start Boyata, Roberts and Rogic we will be good, need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

{Ed007's Note - We played our best football when we played 4-2-3-1 earlier in the season and with Rogic back I don't see any reason why Rodgers won't revert to that so fingers crossed but I think you'll be disappointed come Sunday when Forrest will more than likely start.
Hopefully the players are fired up for this, if we turn up and play the way we know we can we will destroy them.
My team for Sunday would be:

-----------------Gordon---------
Lustig--Simunovic----Boyata---Tierney--
------------Brown----Armstrong----
Roberts---------Rogic-----Sinclair---
---------------Dembele----

But I think Rodgers will go with Forrest starting on the right and I don't even want to consider that he'll go with a 4-3-3.}

2.) 20 Apr 2017 17:19:52
Ed was lustig not injured or was he just rested.

{Ed007's Note - He missed training on Friday and as far as I know it was just a precaution that he didn't play at the weekend so I'm hoping he's fit for Sunday, Steph.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 17:47:50
Yeah Ed that's the team I thought would start I was just hoping Roberts would get a start although it will be good to have him come on fresh for the last 30 minutes.

{Ed007's Note - If we can settle down and get our passing game flowing we'll have the chasing shadows tiring themselves out as the game goes on - that's the time to unleash Paddy and Griffiths.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 19:21:55
ed i like that team. was a big boyata critic but erik doesn't fill nme with confidence these days whereas boyata seems to have come on toa game. tho id happily play the developments squad let's get real bhoys this is the worst hun team in my lietime (40 now : ( ) as the song gows . get intae them.

{Ed007's Note - Sviatchenko has lost his good form, over the last couple months he's looked nervous and slow to react at times. It's as if he's carrying a knock but I've not heard or seen anything about that and there's no reason to play him if he is with the squad we have.}

5.) 20 Apr 2017 19:50:55
Ed I'm with u on that lineup, but like u have a feeling Forrest will start.
Would prefer Roberts starting n i would rather get a great 60 minutes out of him at least than only 20 odd minutes to 30 at the end.
Players like him rogic n Sinclair always have that final ball, that beating of a man n goals in them and again for me wee james just isn't on a par with any of them.
Yes he has had a better season but too inconsistent n doesn't score n create enough regularly n how many games does he win us, Sinclair, dembele, rogic n Roberts all have that in their locker to turn a game or win us game n if Roberts doesn't sign permanently it's a position, along with goalkeeper that must be addressed.
Bring on the sevco anyway, always good to put the new club in their place.
Here we go 10 n a row.

{Ed007's Note - When people say Forrest has improved I just don't see it as he's still the same inconsistent player who struggles with his decision making. The only thing that's really improved is his his injury record and that will probably be down to him actually doing what the Club tell him for a change. He's a good SPFL player but beyond that he's nowhere near good enough.}

6.) 21 Apr 2017 07:36:21
Like that team ed but he'll prob go with forrest he maybe tracks back a bit better than paddy but paddy coming on for 30 mins is the ladt thkng sevco want to see.

7.) 21 Apr 2017 13:18:35
I think BR sees roberts as a impact sub tbh, so can see forrest starting, but like fellow posters would prefer to see roberts in from the start, if rogic is fit its got to be 4231.

8.) 21 Apr 2017 13:28:31
My only issue with your team Ed is that Lustig struggled with McKay's pace at Ibrox and ended up getting booked quite early and with Roberts not the most willing to track back, it could pose a problem when they attack.

{Ed007's Note - Lustig wasn't booked until the 65th minute but hopefully on Sunday Forrest will do his job and track back to help his fullback for a change.}

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:24:03
Sorry Ed, maybe not that early but I can remember them taking heart from it and him struggling as he couldn't put the foot in after that. Forrest offers very little defensively but it's still probably more than Roberts. Attacking there's only one winner. Regardless we should have enough to do a job on them. Moussa needs a performance.

{Ed007's Note - The whole team owes us a performance after some of the recent lacklustre showings. I'm hoping Rogic coming back will give us a huge boost in the final third and with Sinclair consistently performing well even though he looks a bit jaded at times there should be plenty of chances for Dembele to put them to the sword.}

10.) 21 Apr 2017 21:55:59
Time for return to form, Roberts and Moose starting is a must but we'll see. One thing for sure, don't want Bitton anywhere near the pitch.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 01:20:47
I'll second that davie. With rogic and dembele fit a bit further up to hold the ball it let's Armstrong and brown do a bit more defensive work if needed. The back four that starts I want to see finish the game.

12.) 21 Apr 2017 23:28:19
I agree ed regards lustig and i don't get where Forrest is better at tracking back then Roberts, i think its the other way round n in going forward lustig n Roberts work better together for me anyway.
It's the 1 thing that puzzles me with Brendan in picking Forrest over Roberts, i just don't get it and most folk u speak to me would pick Roberts every time.
I back every player in a Celtic jersey but if we are to progress in Europe as well as dominate domestically we need to be strong in all positions, and Gordon n Forrest r the 2 i feel we need better quality. Roberts or a. n. other in a top keeper who actually instills confidence n pulls off the big saves at that higher level.
3 1 Celtic i reckon on Sunday, sevco goal no doubt an obligatory penalty by whichever mason is taking charge of his favourite new teams game.
Here we go 10 in a row.

13.) 22 Apr 2017 14:19:15
Roberts everyday for me, I do think there has been an improvement with JF but PR is streets ahead of him. Brown and Armstrong sitting deep MF tomorrow could end up running the show. Hoping for a great improvement on last few games.

Any truth in MD and LG both being out of tommorow's game?

19 Mar 2017 19:34:17
Been reading a fair bit of stick for Kouassi, bit unfair imo. Lers judge him after he's had a bit of a run. Starting a game or even a few might be a fairer test for him than a couple of sub appearances. Will admit he looked shaky today though.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 19 Mar 2017 19:54:20
I know what you're saying Davie but the thing that worried me was his body language and lack of intensity rather than his poor passing etc. He's has plenty of time to get up to the intensity and fitness levels but didn't look like he was caring. Plenty of time on his side though to be fair.

Is it just the case that sports journalists can say anything they want this month and base it on "reports" or "sources"? That News Now site is a hilarious round up of sheer tabloid guff and probably also contains the "sources" for the Daily Star's exclusive that Dembele probably wants to be in the French World Cup Squad. Please bring the football back!

Daviebhoy77

1.) 14 Jan 2018 13:18:43
Yet you still read it mate lol.

2.) 14 Jan 2018 13:52:34
Well another day another bull story of what Celtic are going to do when we have sold off DM and bring in Santa cruise the stories are getting worse I think these guys are reporting this must be agency or temp reporters to cover the real ones during their winter break very comical give them that.

3.) 14 Jan 2018 15:52:54
Di santo not santa cruise.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 15:55:21
True enough Rayman I read any old shite but I don’t buy it :)

5.) 14 Jan 2018 16:16:10
It's saves them from having to write about that bigots in Florida. Hope that ugly cretin that was signing about being up to her knees in Fenian blood gets named and shamed.

6.) 14 Jan 2018 17:32:58
Stan, ET has an article on them singing about fenian blood so fair do's to them for that.

7.) 14 Jan 2018 17:54:20
Glad to hear it TT.

8.) 14 Jan 2018 19:48:37
They need to report it as its been overseas and they have reported it, if it happened here like every fortnight it would be the usual coverage, im sure uefa or fifa warned the sfa about said song yrs ago, but as per nothings been done.

9.) 14 Jan 2018 20:23:09
Aye exactly BW. Atleast it has been spread across Social Media like wildfire. Idiots.

08 Jan 2018 11:33:35
More than a week out of date but just read Commons article about MD's "disrespectful" behaviour on being subbed last week. (ie, had a shower and put his tracky on before coming back out) Not even going to argue that point but how can he have the gall to talk about anyone's behaviour on being subbed?! Now also seeing that this is been spun as the grain of truth behind Celtic touting Moussa to anyone who will listen! How that passes as journalism will remain beyond me for the rest of my days and Commons must need a wheel barrow to carry his cajones around if he can say that let alone have it in print! Hope MD stays and not heard anything concrete to suggest the contrary. Also cannot stand Commons- in case that isn't clear :)

Daviebhoy77

1.) 08 Jan 2018 12:45:19
@Daviebhoy I agree about Commons having the cheek to talk about any other player's behaviour after the way he, Stokes and Mulgrew behaved under Delia, but he gave papers the story they were wanting.
Talking of our "marvellous press" as the regulars on here know, when I am out in morning at the newsagents I always buy Mrs T a paper (she loves crosswords, as I can testify to as she gives me plenty of cross words lol)
Anyway, today the Record printed keek about "club will not LOSE money on Pena deal" apparently the oh so generous Mexican club are paying ALL his wages and then in the summer will divy up and pay Sevco £2m for a permanaent deal, this is DESPITE their chairman saying the loan deal was good for THE MEXICAN CLUB and they were only prepared to pay HALF Pena's wages.
So Mrs T never got a paper today as I refuse to pay for such guff and downright lies, instead I bought her a crossword puzzle book with 100 crosswords in it, so no more papers in the Timalloy household.

{Ed007's Note - Dembele was sent up the tunnel to receive a rub down by one of the physios, there's no story in it at all.}

2.) 08 Jan 2018 13:07:36
apart from the , commons is big tit.

Hate him too - just don't understand why people like this (inc, Boyd get air time)

unless its just to wind us up, which may not be far from the truth.

3.) 08 Jan 2018 15:15:12
Aye Commons is a wee nyaff and he’s well suited to that oditty he’s married too.

4.) 08 Jan 2018 16:03:00
It didn't take long for Commons' pals at the papers to get him a job spouting p*sh did it. How he can say such things about a non-story after his antics is beyond me.

5.) 08 Jan 2018 17:51:40
I can never understand why so many of our ex-players, who were all too happy to take the money, medals and plaudits from the support, invariably find their way onto SLY and other anti-Celtic outlets to spout their pish and have digs at the club on an ongoing basis?
I turned the volume down when the likes of- Burley, Provan, Nicholas and Walker were co-commentating and ignore others in the media, who 'write' fantasy fiction just to get a reaction.
I don't know of any other club that has such a string of ex-employee snipers who go on to make careers out of repeated negativity and criticism?
I reckon big Sutton is the only ex-player who actually fights our corner in debates and analysis in recent years.

6.) 08 Jan 2018 19:34:01
Big John Hartson normally backs us too ;)

7.) 08 Jan 2018 22:54:14
Sutton And john Hartson both stick up for the Club.

8.) 08 Jan 2018 23:09:38
that's the thing about Sutton, if we were pish, he would say we were. he gives praise where its due and criticism where its due.

then you get fat sally or bfdj saying shoite like ragers are great - and he just calls them out and says WTF.

Having said that BFDJ should have just said "I AM A RAGERS MAN - THEY PAY ME IN DOUGHNUTS TO SAY THEY ARE GREAT - I AM TRAYNORS BITCH" and we would all have went, fair doos - but he prattled on about how great they are when they were the worst they have ever been.

02 Jan 2018 19:07:05
Been wondering when Eboué will feature, realise he's had injuries etc but seem to remember we paid a few quid for him and he looked as if he had something about him a couple of the times I've seen him.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 02 Jan 2018 19:39:45
Agree Davie hope he has an opportunity in the New year. I'm sure he cost about 3 ish maybe 4 million although I could be wrong.

2.) 02 Jan 2018 21:51:38
He has been here 12 months and even in times when we have been rotating squad he has rarely featured. Think it’s one that hasn’t worked for whatever reason. If he was only a boy and one for the future etc we seem to have paid more than we should. 3 or 4m is a lot for us to pay for a project.

10 Dec 2017 14:26:06
That was a cracking match, seriously thought Hibs were gonnae take us. Craig Gordon! How does he do it?

Daviebhoy77

1.) 10 Dec 2017 14:32:51
At 2-0 we were in control but as soin as they scored we crumbled. Rodgers needs to show his managerial metal over the next few weeks.

04 Dec 2017 20:35:36
Looking at the CL groups there are a whole load of tidy teams potential/ definitely dropping into the new year Europa 32. With a lot of great teams already there, looks like the remainder of that competition could be pretty entertaining. Would
Also say we will have our work cut out and require strengthening.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 04 Dec 2017 21:33:25
no rubbish sherlockbhoy

defence needs an overhaul, cover in all positions and GK, another solid striker, but we'll probably get 8 midfielders.

Happy New Year Drewzy, I posted about this boy earlier:yesterday? Like everyone else, we’ve no seen much of him and you’re right that I remember him seeming ropey but also remember a couple of performances that suggested he had potential to hold his own as a CDM. Perhaps a run on loan is SPFL could let him show what he can do?
