Might be talking out my arse with this one. Spotted big erik out for dinner with a guy that looked a lot like Delany. Didn't get a good look though. Any Glasgow sightings?

He had a pic on twitter earlier this week saying his mate was over. He plays for some lower league team possibly was him.

2.) 14 Aug 2016 21:41:05
Ah well. That adds up then. They were talking in thier native tongue I think. I don't own that rosetta stone cd so my Danish is a tad rusty :)

3.) 14 Aug 2016 22:02:27
0B1 or anyone else. Do you know who the player was that was through for a visit? Few pics I scanned through some looked like Delaney? I'm no Chris spivey :)

4.) 14 Aug 2016 22:15:59
Vito Hammershoy-Mistrati probably misspelled but it's his best mate he says. Plays in Danish 1st division.

5.) 14 Aug 2016 22:55:52
One and the same mate.

6.) 14 Aug 2016 22:56:25
Is he any good? 😅.

7.) 14 Aug 2016 23:04:44
Spoilsport Delaney would have been better.

8.) 14 Aug 2016 23:05:51
Would really like this delaney guy. Seems a quality player. Any1 know more about him?

9.) 14 Aug 2016 23:18:05
The more we post the more he will cost.

Absolutely. They are just desperate to stop us and it is beyond a joke now. How these clowns are even debating this on tv is beyond me. And that's the Scotland manager - God in heaven.

2.) 12 Mar 2017 14:06:23
That was a shameful performance from us.

Apart from Armstrong we were awful.

Made that shower look not bad.

I like the look of the new development plans but i have severe reservations.
Im all for improving training facilities but the retail plans are madness imo. I work in this trade and there is zero chance this will be a profit spinner in any decent time frame v the build costs. The hotel yeah. Great idea if it's competitive, close to the city etc. No disrespect but the footfall in the area can't support it, the city is awash with numerous eateries all after the same numbers, people won't jump the subway and walk to it through parkhead. Cut the catchment again as it will be a Tim only complex . Match days it could be a huge earner. Massive. We have to be very careful how we do it. Push for a higher spend per head type and it won't work. Balance that against it being a nice place to go with decent grub and facilities that's the tough bit and I don't think it's possible . Matchdays with travel and tickets cost the earth. The biggest spend should be a multi story car park and major road development. The cost of this quite frankly are monstrous and outside or reach. Nice idea though.
How many units in the complex are rumoured? What is the hotel capacity out of interest?
I don't want to pi$$ on chips but we need to curb our enthusiasm slightly. Everything right now should be going into our squad and training grounds. Jumping through hoops to get a cl final stadium isn't in our current budget.

I don't know what the £ backhander is for hosting a final. I'm hoping the unseen has agreed this guarantee prior to the first shovel breaking the earth.
For me this type of investment can only be justified if we show consistent profits akin to the ones shown this year. We have had a GREAT year. I think we are pushing this a bit early . Great bit of pr muscle flexing.

Rg i bow to your greater knowledge in this field, but during the season and with a home game every second week do u not think the place would b mobbed, never mind xmas party nights CL nights corporate events and just people wanting the experience of staying in the celtic hotel. Personally i think it would do fine.

2.) 26 Feb 2017 10:36:43
Events at Celtic Park and the Emirates Arena should bring good business. To say cut the numbers because its a TIM only complex is utter nonsense, people from outside the goldfish bowl couldn't give a toss about that crap. Athletes, businessmen and tourists wouldn't think twice about Scottish small mindedness. Im afraid for someone " in the business" as you say, your letting yourself and your arguement down with being narrow minded and completely negative. We don't need PR tricks unlike our skint neighbours. Its all about building for the future, the main stand should be improved next, then i think we are ready for any changes in where the club competes in football, whatever league or super league that may be.

3.) 26 Feb 2017 16:35:38
Try getting a decent hotel in centre of Glasgow monday thru thursday any month of the year. I am often out in Bothwell, nots that's its much of a problem with the new road but Decent Glasgow hotels are booked up all week. No idea about weekend availability but don't see why Celtic hotel would not do as well as any other Glasgow hotel?

01 Feb 2017 23:37:18
Aberdeen have killie and motherwell . I think motherwell are due a wee result of some kind. Fingers crossed skippys appeal takes him to a 1 match ban minimum. Ajer puts in a motm and old boyd misshits a pass into sheep's net :) . Sevco are in meltdown after that loss. Pick your forum, your friend or the screams from your next door neighbours house tonight or the leaks of the boardroom tearing strips off of mw during the week and you will have all the persuasion you need that they are on the rocks. I don't see thier bottle holding.
We might not get the chance to win it at parkhead. Sevco might be our first title party visitors.

If they don't wisen up they could be giving us a guard of honour on March 12th, never mind us winning it on the day!

This Onyekuru transfer has been a joke.
Few and edd have said he is dissruptive. Awol at the last game as well if I read right!
I don't really blame him. If all is to be believed he has numerous agents and owners and the media are fishing for any quote from anyone connected to him. Most are pushing the lad pillar to post. He hasn't handled it well and has given a running cometary again showing immaturity His mate Osaze Odemwingie chipping telling him to come to just to add to the nonsense. If his quotes are genuine I'd say he is in a bit of a bad position. If he is actively and knowingly part of this pr circus and he may well be as he will earn a few £ from moving. I'd dodge him .

rglen8

1.) 29 Jan 2017 12:22:51
He's 19. Rogers will help him and us if he comes. Looks unlikely he will allowed though.

14 Oct 2016 00:14:03
Bit of a change of topic but has anyone kept a tab on nesbitt since his move?
All I could see online after a quick searxh was six appearances (wiki) . It's one of the only times I think I've wanted promising senior youth to stay at the club. I don't know the lad but I doubt his heart is in it being away with what's happening now.

{Ed007's Note - Have a read at this:

http://www.celticfc.net/news/11417?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

1.) 14 Oct 2016 00:47:00
Cheers ed for the link. I'm looking forward to seeing him play for us again.

{Ed007's Note - We've got some fantastic youngsters at the Club just now, the big question is if they can make the step up to the first team. A player like Tierney might turn out to be a once in a blue moon product but we should be consistently producing players capable of performing and dominating at the domestic level, producing players that are good enough for Dundee or St Johnstone helps Scottish football but it doesn't really help Celtic.}

2.) 14 Oct 2016 11:37:50
I am sure I read that almost every team in Scotland had someone who had been in celtics youth system at one point?

3.) 14 Oct 2016 08:41:38
Well it does in the end Ed as it makes the league more competitive so in the long run it will benefit us Ed. Just my opinion though.

{Ed007's Note - So when's that going to happen, when is the end? Since Lennoxtown opened we've had McGeady and now Tierney come through and every other one has went onto become journeymen players, a season here, a season there then a 'big money' move to an English Champoinship team before flopping down there and coming back up the road with their tail between their legs to get back on the Scottish merry go round. There's very few players left Celtic as a youngster that have went on and proved we made a mistake.
If the player isn't good enough for Celtic he's hardly going to help make Kilmarnock title contenders is he?}

4.) 14 Oct 2016 11:58:19
Would you add maloney to the list with mcgeady and Tierney ed?

{Ed007's Note - No.}

5.) 14 Oct 2016 12:33:03
Why not ed?
He's had a better career away from celtic than mcgeady I'd say.

{Ed007's Note - Shaun Maloney left Celtic for Aston Villa in January 2007 - that's a whole 10 months before Lennoxtown opened.}

6.) 14 Oct 2016 12:46:19
I've seen a good number of youngsters over the years trying to break through via the BP Youths, Reserves and now Development Squad and the amount who have reached their peak at that level beggars belief. Out of the current crop I have hope for are Connor Hazard, Sam Wardrop, Joe Thomson, Mark Hill, Calvin Miller and Aiden Nesbitt. I've got my doubts about Jack Aitchison and Tony Ralston but what do I know about youth development that the club's coaches don't see on a day to day basis.

Stengo.

7.) 14 Oct 2016 13:11:32
Andy Robertson was there before moving to queens park. Isam feruz as well but he has not done it yet. But yeah there have not been many.

I think one of the reasons is that managers are under pressure to win games, so don't give many the youngsters a chance. Tierney was lucky as Izzy was making defensive mistakes and mulgrew was injured. This is why I would like to trim squad and only have 2 seniors for each position.

{Ed007's Note - But would Andy Robertson have become the player he is if he had stayed at Celtic? I seriously doubt it, at some point young players need to be given a a shot in the first-team, some of them will surprise us and kick-on and some will surprise us and fail.}

8.) 14 Oct 2016 13:34:54
Can't say that mcgeady was a product of Lennoxtown then either ed007.
He made his first team debut 3 years before it opened.

{Ed007's Note - Fair point.}

9.) 14 Oct 2016 14:53:11
I think we are making the same point, that players need opportunities in the first team to continue developing and it is hard to get them at Celtic.

I would actually like reserve league brought back as that gives players more chance to play against senior players. Would also help managers keep squad players happy and up to speed.

10.) 14 Oct 2016 14:57:30
Jackson Irvine Ed, biggest disappointment for me!

8 weeks after signing for Ross County the Sunday papers were waxing lyrical about him

One season @ County and got a decent move to the championship albeit to the team just promoted but within like Scott Sinclair with us had scored 4 in first five or 5 in 6

In RD's entire tenure we struggled with the CDM position constantly stuck with Efe and there was a boy who could also play CH!

He won't be at Burton long IMHO because he is more defensively minded than forward thinking and still scoring now (y)

11.) 14 Oct 2016 16:30:32
I always think there is something wrong as for years now we have been loaning out excellent youngsters and getting ordinary young players back . We have a major problem as our top youngsters probably need the experience of playing week in week out . Too often players go to smaller clubs and halve way through their loan period they are no longer certain of first team starts .
I suppose just as we normally don't take that well to players who are just on loan, I suppose manager and fans may not be over fond of our players loaned out .
The age our players go at is often an age when they leave home first and the women and the beer may play a bigger role in their life than maybe they should.

12.) 14 Oct 2016 18:28:40
I am friendly with a Burton lad (Derby is his main team) who raves about Irvine. Been Albions best player and regularly scores.

13.) 15 Oct 2016 11:13:28
I watched the youth team against Varceliba and I'm sorry but there was no outstanding talent on show. We produce players for the Dundees, Aberdeenshire and lower level championship teams at best.

Every year we read about this great talent and it never, materialises.

Apart from KT we have produced jack rubbish in over ten years and the current bunch are no better than any I have watched.

The tragic truth is we produce on the whole journeymen for a world dominated by artisans.

The whole project is a shambles. KT the inky player to make a first team position his own in ten years?

Total waste of time and money up until now.

Scotland as a footballing country is now a sad sorry tale of mediocrity and less technical ability than anyone we play against. We might be able to muscle and win but basic skills are woefully absent.

We are good at running about but not much else.

14.) 15 Oct 2016 13:32:03
I must say I agree about Irvine every game I have seen him play he is one of the better players on the park.

I'll second that davie. With rogic and dembele fit a bit further up to hold the ball it let's Armstrong and brown do a bit more defensive work if needed. The back four that starts I want to see finish the game.

Bobthecat. The next family meeting will be a tad awkward if you have indeed delivered here :) . Names address and leanings. I like the slashed odds of variable sources even though i've never heard of them 😀. Better than a cabbies maw no end!
Not sure who reads this but you may have to change your name to ally cat. Nice sunshine. Like a good rumour!

{Ed007's Note - Right now William Jose is the player that Everton are looking very seriously at as a striker to replace Lukaku. Dembele won't be going anywhere this summer as nobody will pay the - what is seen as unrealistic by some - price Celtic have put on him to frighten any potential suitors off. }

Season ticket hike? Was that a them or us comment? Not having a dig wast sure where that was aimed. BR had a negotiated slice of European money as an incentive. Eye watering if what I'm told is real. So what if he has now been given a boosted established safe contract. I'll happily say that I don't think this type of optimisim has ever existed in our fan group. I don't mean happy with the team I mean that we will crush our domestic leauge and bar interference/ off days pick up cups. Unique circumstances admittedly. Sevco off the rails, Aberdeen having thier best run in decades but still powder puff in europe. This is a rare rare time. It is frighteningly delightful to see where our team will be by the end of the next window if we hold onto our best. I'm sticking my pocket money away lads as this maybe a year to travel. If we screw the nut we may do well abroad this year.

Watched a replay on kodi there after my lugs/ eyes were burning from all the attention. Credit for coming back. Two great teams. Quick round up of it for me is that it was without heart. Both teams players throwing themself's around looking to edge it, and Barcelona were better at it and won. Proffesional foul takers.
I hope the best ever cl come back tag doesn't stick. It wasn't a patch on liverpools.
I felt something that night as a football fan, it was fantastic.
