I got talking to a taxi driver today. He has it on good authority, we're using the Abada dosh to swoop for a 19 year old Fleetwood CB who was their YPOTY last season and a really promising and imposing CB from Carlisle Utd, 22 years old.

I see we have been linked with a 19 year old CB from dare I say it, Rapid Vienna, I know the 2 signings we have made from them in recent years (Boli Bolingoli and Kuhn) haven't been up to much.
This young defender is obviously a project at 19 years old, but from everything I have been reading about him, he definitely has the kind of attributes we should be looking for in a player. It would certainly be one that if we can get the young man in, it would be a bit of a coup.

He’s playing out his skin popping up in the box scoring goals creating plenty he’s big and good on the ball exactly what most of us have been saying we need in midfield a bit of dig maybe next year he plays the cdm role in a midfield 3 of lawal Mcgregor and hatate because oriley will be off in the summer.

With Mighty Mick and Rok Hodgson gone from Sunderland and Crystal Palace respectively, I wonder if they'll look to BR? Despite his culpability for some of our playing issues, I hope just for the sake of stability at this crucial time of the season, he stays with us.

I got a ticket for AV v Man U on Sunday (fab game but that's not the point of the post) . Got speaking to a Villa ST holder who bumped into John McGinn when in Edinburgh last year for a Europa League match with Hibs. He said John McGinn was brand new and in the context of his move to Villa, Celtic were about to announce his signature when he got a call at the 11th hour (with Hibs permission) from Steve Bruce, the then Villa manager. He sold McGinn playing for Villa, top league in the world etc and chose to sign for them. I realise this may be old news to some but thought it worth sharing.

That's what happened caused PL messed about and allowed the situation to develop. a major cause of a rift between BR and him. McGinn got fed up waiting on us.

It doesn’t really matter about J Mc Ginn now as we shouldn’t spend all our time in the past . Celtic were very confident that Mc Ginn was going to sign for the or else let his contract expire and Celtic could sign him on a free in summer . Villa had no money until an investment was made in club just before transfer window closed . Manager Bruce was able to make a bid which was high for a player who would have been free in a few months . Mc Ginn went to Birmingham to sign, it is very unusual for neither Hibs nor player who we believe to be Celtic daft, not to inform Celtic who had been the highest bidder before Aston Villa made their bid that they were no longer highest bidder.
Rumour was that Petrie was unhappy with BL because he didn’t support Petrie bid for position n with SFA.

I hate PL but I thought he played his hand correctly with John mcginn. Obviously in hindsight he could have done things differently and we would have got him and he would have been a good addition but c'est la vie.

I've been reminiscing recently about Paul Hartley. He was ok for us but I don't think we got the best out of him. He was a good high energy, combative player with Hearts. We used him more as a holding midfielder. What do people think?

Whilst there's little doubt Paul's best performances were with Hearts, he more than did a job for us.
The best bit is, back in the day, his brother Brian was apparently just as good, if not better, when they were growing up in Hamilton.

I thought after their spell at Celtic even though they were with us for far too short a time that both would have good careers as Managers and I have been surprised that it didn’t work out for either of them . They carried the Celtic team to SPL the yr they signed for us and seemed to lift the whole team .
Wasn’t that the season S Brown’s young sister died.

Even during Ange's 2 years, I thought we'd got lucky and whenever he left, we'd be back to square 1 following the '10' season, ie a bunch of fuddy duddies who are up themselves and are content for Celtic to stagnate by keeping a nose ahead of Rangers2. BR isn't smelling of roses either and if things don't improve and he leaves in the summer, what manager worth their salt would honestly want to work under an owner or Board with no ambition. On another level, our name in Europe means nothing which is a damning indictment of the people at the top. On the one hand, we're Celtic supporters and as the song goes 'over and over, we'll follow you' but tbh, this Board with it's keeping it in the family incumbents won't budge if we continue to sell over 50k season tickets each year. Sorry for rant. We've always got the hotel to look forward to. Whatever you're doing tonight lads, have a good one. ?.

Celtic only dropped a total of 15 points in the whole 38 league games last season.

I'm conscious there may be one or 2 guys from the blue side who read this site and if so, what is their explanation for the figures I'm expecting despite Celtics dominance over the years.

Agree with all of the above, they're c*** but we aren't much better. We should beat them at Paradise but expecting us to win all remaining 5 league games is a stretch. That said, it's there for us. Btw, I'm brickin it if Hatate or CCV get injured.
