If today was a bad result against a well organised aggressive team after a mammoth euro display then I will take that all day. We would have lost that game 6 weeks ago. Most teams will struggle at that venue.

Top of the league, we welcome the chase.

Any truth to the rumour Griffiths to be used to smooth McGinn transfer, hence OE suddenly being given the starting spot?

1.) 11 Dec 2017 20:10:21
Can't see there being any truth in that Kwaj when Clubs in England would pay £10m+ for Griffiths. We would lose a fortune by having him as part of that deal. Plus at this stage of his career would Griffiths be happy to see out the most important contract of his life on the wages Hibs would offer him, doubt it. Maybe when he is in his 30s. Hibee or not money talks.

2.) 11 Dec 2017 20:41:28
I can’t see any team being willing paying £10m for Griffiths. Nobody even showed an interest in him as far as we know after he banged in 40 goals 2 seasons ago.

3.) 11 Dec 2017 21:03:34
What will happen is Griff will start mid week score and the talk of him being left out will be gone.

4.) 11 Dec 2017 21:22:47
I recall plenty Championship Clubs sniffing about Kev, Wolves and Leeds being 2. Were Everton not interested too. Anywho all ifs and but one things for sure he won't be used in a swap deal for Mcginn.

5.) 11 Dec 2017 21:44:21
Agreed. He’s too good to be playing at Hibs, as is McGinn probably.

6.) 11 Dec 2017 22:28:33
I'm sure wages would come into it aswel Hibs wouldn't be able to scratch the surface of what he earns at the moment, he will end his career there im sure but that's a while away. Id take McGinn, very impressed with him every time i see him he's going to become a great player.

7.) 12 Dec 2017 00:43:26
Sometimes I wonder is it really for to improve our team that we buy certain players or is it to weaken the opposition. I think of how buying Ciftci, Mckay Steven and Armstrong decimated Dundee Utd and only Armstrong made an impact with us. I liked Scott Allen when he played at hibs and we bought him and he did nothing. I think we need players who will strengthen our starting eleven so unless we're going to offload midfielders or McGinn is so much better than we have already what's the point in buying him or would he want to come here to be a squad player like happened to Jonny Hayes. Forgive the rant but I get frustrated at times with a buy buy buy mentality and i would only buy to improve us as there is no point in winning by weakening the opposition as we will only go backwards in europe if we don't strengthen.

8.) 12 Dec 2017 07:23:49
Thing is donjim for every Scott Allen there is a James McCarthy. Once in a while a rare talent comes through and McGinn definitely has all the attributes to be a success. Whether he can come in an hold is own at Celtic we won't know until it happens but you could say that about a £10m foreign player aswel. Buying any player is a gamble.

9.) 12 Dec 2017 09:21:58
I don't think we bought players to weaken dundee united. Bit of a daft statement, these players all played well for their team, we bought them relatively cheap with the hope they could do a job. Not everyone does well, spent a lot more money for random players who haven't made the cut. As Stan said buying players is a gamble.

10.) 12 Dec 2017 10:39:44
It's getting really stupid really early I see.

Griffiths to Hibs? O da, please!

Let's keep it to players who will never come being spotted at CP.

Or, taxi driver inside info. Which we all know is irrefutable.

11.) 12 Dec 2017 10:54:46
I'm still hoping for the retired pair of Kinkladze and Riquelme to appear Mp.

12.) 12 Dec 2017 11:57:37
What? They're not coming?

13.) 12 Dec 2017 12:20:39
Maybe if Griffiths is on his way then the Robbie Keane to Celtic rumour will resurface.

14.) 12 Dec 2017 13:00:57
McFaddens father is in the Saracen Head negotiating terms with PL right now.

15.) 12 Dec 2017 13:20:11

after the 2 free kicks against the worlds best national side, he ain't going to hibs, slightly worrying he's being overlooked - but he's normally vocal about these things and has been strangely quiet. I think he knows the score at celtic, Rodgers hasn't called him fat and lazy in a wee while and how much would it cost to replace him.

with the craziness that is Engerlish fitba tho, its not beyond the bounds of belief that a Fulham could offer £5-10m and still have change for a few more £10m+ players. But I don't even think Tim will be betting on this one.

{Ed007's Note - How is LG getting overlooked, because he's been on the bench for 3 games? Why do these stories never surface about players like Armstrong, Bitton Rogic or the likes when they are benched?
Every time LG doesn't play a match there's loads of stories about fall outs with managers and impending transfers yet every one of them are complete bollocks. I'm surprised nobody has said that LG driving a taxi in the Christmas advert was a subliminal message that he was leaving!}

16.) 12 Dec 2017 16:07:43
aye but he didne have shoes on. he's deid.

17.) 12 Dec 2017 20:03:26
Personally I like LG when he is on form he is very good striker indeed. Just feel personally he needs games to go on a run with goals. don't think this stop start kind of season suits him and is difficult for any striker. Also would happily take McGinn and think he would shine under BR in our midfield would definitely add simply playing in a better team with better players he would add something.

18.) 12 Dec 2017 20:08:02
LG has played in around 20 games this season already. How people can claim he's on his way out is beyond me.

19.) 12 Dec 2017 20:40:47
Maybe a bold statement but i can see Griffiths being at Celtic for another 5 seasons. Id be happy to go into next season with Griffiths and Edouard.

{Ed007's Note - If Edouard can keep doing what he's doing I'd be happy enough with that and Jack Aitchison stepping up to the 3rd striker spot. He'll be 18 by the time next season starts and he should be starting to push for a first team squad place and some domestic gametime next season imo.}

20.) 12 Dec 2017 21:54:37
and just think of all the unemployed stewards at ibrokes not defending the posts after a pumping if LG goes, so he must stay.

21.) 12 Dec 2017 21:55:11
If he's good enough he should definitely be pushing for a place Ed. I've seen quite a bit of the youths this season and he does look a player. When you consider Edouard is only 19 next season really is the season that Aitchison needs to push on as he will be compared with other youths his age currently getting game time and questions will no doubt be asked.

{Ed007's Note - That's my thinking, at some point we need to try our own youths rather than looking at other teams youngsters for a first team spot.}

There is no doubt in my mind the sheep scoring twice against them has affected their confidence. I expect them to score and maybe even first. However as soon as we score against them they will flip into panic mode. They don't know how to protect a lead. If they set up in a more holding formation tomorrow you know slippy is bricking a potential humping. its ours to lose. HH.

07 Oct 2019 13:58:07
Why do some supporters go way over the top when we lose or have a bad result. This is our first loss of the season and whilst we played poorly there are a number of factors that can be attributed. plastic pitch, european hangover, sending off etc etc Some supporters are reacting a little more vehemently I imagine because sevco are keeping our spot warm at the top of the league and will sit there during the international break. I for one think its fine and will sharpen our focus to ensure we do better and learn from this game. Our team is young and getting better, all teams have blips. let's see how we bounce back again and let's not get caught up with this away hoodoo form guff that's being banded about in the hope it sticks i presume, as we have drawn and lost 2 games. If we were top of league by lots of points fans still moan about lack of rotation etc. This season we will need to fight harder and our depth of squad will allow us to do this. let's just support the team and players who will make mistakes, who doesn't. just don't need to crucify any player who does, especially when they have provided us with so much previously. also nobody needs reminded about mistakes as the person who makes them is usually the most harsh critic of themselves.

1.) 07 Oct 2019 16:59:46
hail hail kwaj.

2.) 07 Oct 2019 18:15:23
Well said hardly time to panic, no trophies given out in October tho if u listen to the sevvies it does.
That's why they have no trophies they celebrate nothing wins and draws at firhill etc.

I don't want to get carried away, but I am going to anyway ha ha. Having a look through the other groups I don't think currently there is anyone to fear presently with exception of Arsenal and Roma but still feel we would give them a game. The harder teams will come from the third placed teams in CL again though feel we should be on a par if not beating teams finishing third in CL on current form and with the confidence soaring through the team. We have the strongest looking squad for quite sometime and the benefits of this are there to see. We are also playing some great football and look defensively very solid which is the basis of all good teams and good european runs. We should be excited by the possibilities this season. I am personally so glad to see the back of BR's style of play in Europe in which we received some heavy beatings. Even the better teams now would be wary of our attack and our defence would stand up against these teams too. The added factor of coming to play at Paradise and our amazing atmosphere would spook many good teams. So I for one am excited to what we could achieve this season.

1.) 04 Oct 2019 12:33:37
Getting ahead of uourself Kwaj. Weve only played two EL games.

20 Sep 2019 11:17:33
Another stellar away performance from us last night firmly putting the away hoodoo nonsense from the press and guttersnipers in its place. banished. I hope Bolingolis injury isn't too bad. Does anyone think Greg Taylor will be given a chance now and do you think he will feature in Europe if Boli is out too long?

1.) 20 Sep 2019 11:29:25
Boli is doing fine but still probe to a lapse in concentration poor header last night and dived in as well could have cost us.

2.) 20 Sep 2019 11:32:10
Would like to see what Taylor can do - especially defensively - because as much as I like Bolingoli, he is still making mistakes.

3.) 20 Sep 2019 12:27:00
The good thing about both Boli and Taylor is that they both will improve and get better, both at good age. One is probably better defensively than the other and vice versa so we now have options depending on the opposition. Throw Hayes into the mix and we are sorted there.

4.) 20 Sep 2019 15:30:36
I haven’t seen Hayes have a bad game at left back for us, gives his all every time he’s called upon. Doesn’t seem to be groaning at the lack of game time, squad seem to really like him . Just because we signed Taylor doesn’t mean we have to put him straight in ahead of Hayes . Boli, has played better recently especially at Ibrox but he seems to be caught up the pitch too much when his passing goes astray . We can probably get away with it domestically but in Europe he can be picked off with that type of mistake.

5.) 20 Sep 2019 15:52:00
Cluj game is going to be a cracker now as they will be pumped up after beating Lazio and coming full of confidence and we are hopefully going to show them we are a better team. makings of a cracking game. still think we should be ripping them at home.

19 Sep 2019 19:53:17
Ha ha feck you Charlie Nick person.

1.) 19 Sep 2019 20:00:50
I was hoping more than anything our erses wouldn't drop. We weren't exactly fantastic but I think we matched them throughout a well deserved point.

2.) 19 Sep 2019 20:23:32
Ed thought I had chosen that last word carefully. obvs not ha ha.

{Ed007's Note - It's the auto filter if it changes to person before I even see it.}

Dembele may score more is he stays fit enough, Edouard will as he develops more score just as many but more importantly his assists hold up and link up play will make him a much more valuable.

Regardless of line up is what it is, let's see. However good to see a strong bench with players who can definitely come off bench and make a real difference offensively anyways.
