Stuart Armstrong out until late February after undergoing a hernia operation.

1.) 15 Jan 2018 23:47:24
If that's true he's going nowhere this month then!

2.) 16 Jan 2018 12:40:40
What's to dislike about this? Clearly not a rumour it's a fact!

3.) 16 Jan 2018 13:16:11
Just read that myself.
(all those extra swimming lessons for his wee mate down the pool has done him in)
He is going no where indeed. Adds another hilarious twist to the false tabloid 10m patter.
Might explain a few things. Used sparingly, off pace and looking uninterested? Playing through pain. I've not done much of it this season on here but I've moaned a bit about his displays. I'll humbly retract, my only resentment lays at the medical teams door if he was made to play till the point the the op was needed. He is our player and if he should of went under the knife in November it should of happened then.
Step up kouassi. Can't see that loan deal happening now.
That injury has cancelled out a signing and definetly the opportunity for top dollar for a departure.

Being linked to Chancel Mbemba from Newcastle.

1.) 11 Jan 2018 08:35:13
BR has already rubbished claims thankfully as he's barking lol.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 09:13:06
I actually think he's a cracking player. He was a regular at anderlecht and is a belgium international, he's certainly better than what we have.

3.) 11 Jan 2018 11:43:29
He was very decent at Anderlecht. Mind him being best CB signing in Fifa lol and seen a couple of games where he stood out which obv led to Newcastle signing him. but has been terrible for Newcastle and is very small for a CB as well so not too upset that it seems we have no interest.

Would much rather go for the Bulgarian mentioned on the Banter page, although that's the only place I've seen of any Celtic interest.

4.) 11 Jan 2018 12:14:33
was a standout last season in efl, which imo is a step up from our league, would be a great signing.

5.) 11 Jan 2018 12:40:47
Mates a Newcastle fan and he uses him. Says he's strong and quick and he'd be gutted if he was to leave.

6.) 11 Jan 2018 12:52:17
You don't necessarily need to be 6ft to be a cb, look at puyol for example, he was even smaller than mbemba.

7.) 11 Jan 2018 20:30:15
Fair play I've not seen a lot of Newcastle this season so the lad must of massively improved.

8.) 12 Jan 2018 00:03:03
Think he says he has only played about 8 games and was meant to say rates him not uses him lol. Seeing reports saying a swap with Simunovic would suit both parties as Rafa wanted him last season. Never really heard of the guy myself is anyone else clued up on it he is he better than the likes of Coetzee or Duverne?

Hi ED,

Have you heard anything about Joe Allen rumours?

{Ed007's Note - There aren't any rumours. Some bookies is just playing the market for an earner by saying we're favourites to sign him. As far as I know he's not even available from Stoke.}

1.) 08 Jan 2018 22:19:51
That's good news then. Not really worth the money he will cost.

{Ed007's Note - I think Allen is going to be linked with us every window from now on.}

2.) 08 Jan 2018 22:37:05
He could be the new Robbie Keane rumour.

{Ed007's Note - At least he eventually turned up! What about Shay Given?}

3.) 09 Jan 2018 12:31:46
Could still do a better job than Gordon even at his age. Now you've mentioned it no doubt someone will post asking about rumours of us signing Given lol.

{Ed007's Note - 770 appearances (including internationals) and not one single goal to his name? Nah not for me ;)

4.) 09 Jan 2018 12:55:21
Hes way out our price range anyway ed.

{Ed007's Note - Allen? Definitely mate and another perfect example of an average footballer getting paid money that doesn't truly reflect his limited ability.}

5.) 09 Jan 2018 22:27:57
I admire Peter and now Brendan for not been sucked into the silly games played by agents and fan pressure and usually control our purchasers . It can often be difficult enough to get a reasonably good player to continue and improve his form when joining a new club .
I am still disappointed that fan power pushed Johannson away from Celtic

We signed Eboue who is a very good player, but we cannot get his form and ability on the pitch . That's why I think in an ideal world we would bring our own through from academie.

18 Dec 2017 12:41:03
Hi ED, Any truth in the rumour Compper is over for a medical today ready to sign a 2 and a half year deal? Article about it on Video Celts.

{Ed007's Note - Seemingly so but it's a 2 1/2 year deal with an option of another year. We're obviously building for the future by giving a 32-year-old (33 in June) a possible three year deal - no wonder he told RB Leipzig he wanted to make the move.}

1.) 18 Dec 2017 13:10:58
I don’t really understand the deal to be honest! Surely another CB will be brought in for the long term? Maybe Rodgers has confidence in Ajers progression?

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ajer go out on loan again. He's proven during his loan spell at Kilmarnock and his appearances for us that he is more than capable of playing at SPFL level so why is a near 33-years-old pushing him further down the pecking order?}

2.) 18 Dec 2017 14:56:36
Makes perfect sense to me. A player brought in for less than £1m. Job done as far as our borad are concerned.

3.) 18 Dec 2017 14:10:38
I’m unsure ED! Seems odd to me, Ajer seems like he can play out the back of defence, just needs a bit more expeirience in my opinion. He’s definetley going to be important in the future. What’s your view on Ajer ED?

{Ed007's Note - I think Ajer is a cracking young player and a great prospect. He's got pace, good in the air, composed on the ball and looks comfortable bringing the ball out of defence. After yesterday's debacle Wednesday night against Thistle would be an ideal game for Ajer to start, we're playing the team at the bottom of the league and we're at home.}

4.) 18 Dec 2017 15:38:17
He won't cost us too much as Erick will now be sold which will cover that what do u think ED.

{Ed007's Note - It's still a waste of £1 million.}

5.) 18 Dec 2017 15:39:35
Could be the idea is to play this guy beside ajer?

{Ed007's Note - I don't see Compper as any more than a squad player covering the CB and LB positions.}

6.) 18 Dec 2017 16:43:09
I don’t mind this signing as I’ve completely lost faith with all the centre backs, and in my opinion so has Brendan . We have been saying we need a back up for kt and if he can fill in there all the better. I would like a quality centre back to come in as well, although it’s easier said than done . We don’t find Virgil type defenders just hanging around at a few million price range. Lovren who cost about 20 million is a regular international but looks no better than boyata, so you don’t always get your moneys worth. I have never seen this lad play but if you make a career in the German leagues you must be half decent, the fact he’s cup tied for Europe again tells me Rogers wants him for the league as he doesn’t trust the ones he has. Someone here earlier said about building for the future but I don’t think we are in a position or League to build for the future. It has to be short term for us as any player that shows promise is gone within 2-3 seasons max so how can we possibly build anything .

{Ed007's Note - But we'll get 2/3 seasons off them and sell them on and bring in others, that's planning for the future. Are we going to get 2/3 seasons and then sell Compper to an EPL side? He'll be here and then retire probably!
Didn't we get where we are by bringing in players, developing them and selling them on? What we need is some serious investment in the team in 2 or 3 positions and not over the hill German CBs or 37-years-old GKs like Boruc.
Edson Braafheid is free this coming summer, how about selling KT and getting him in? He's played in Holland, Germany and Italy so he must be half decent too then?}

7.) 18 Dec 2017 17:12:04
Could this signing be for nothing more than a stop gap left sided CB? Untill some other who they may be eyeing comes available.

{Ed007's Note - A potential 3 and a half year deal for a stop gap? I doubt it, D.}

8.) 18 Dec 2017 17:07:12
So do u think he has been second choice to who we really want in and if we can't get that player in we will at least have this guy in? Or on a more positive note he is one of two CH we will bring in this window?

{Ed007's Note - I'm hopeful we'll bring another CB in but I'm not holding out much hope in it happening.}

9.) 18 Dec 2017 17:27:51
Ed I totally agree with you. If it happens then He'll be another player on far too much money sitting on the bench. I'm starting to think the board have told BR that he has little money to spend on new signing which would be ridiculous. Sign the guy up for 6 months at the most so he can cover until summer, that's what I think.

{Ed007's Note - How did we get from Rivaldo Coetzee to Marvin Compper?}

10.) 18 Dec 2017 18:32:12
What an absolute joke, once again this just shows the ambition of our club, i can't believe this, he is not better that what we have.

I live in Germany but i'm not the biggest fan of German football so i have asked around about this guy and no one had really anything good to say about him, at best he's ok but at 32 he's only going to get worse.

I can only imagine it's for his experience, but his standard of football is not what's needed to take us forward.

we should be looking at player's like Ntcham or Edouard with great
potential, there's plenty of young quality in the French, Belgium and Dutch leagues.

Björn Engels signed for Olympiacos in the summer for around 7m euros, That's the type of player i want to see us signing, if they can spend that amount on defender why can't we?!

Once again we're getting short changed

Ed i agree with you 2 or 3 good signings and we would have a quality team.

11.) 18 Dec 2017 19:09:05
We don't need squad players it is quality we need. What happened to not buying unless it improves the squad? I'm not convinced a 32 year old will have the legs to play cover in LB when Lustig is 31 and struggles with the pace on the wing and is done going by most people's opinions on here. Is Congerton responsible for this Compper guy? Has Coetzee recovered from injury and playing again? Like to see us try go for him again. Would him and Compper solve our defensive problem? It'll be under £2m for the pair of them which isn't a lot considering what we've raked in the past 2 seasons.

12.) 18 Dec 2017 19:17:48
I appreciate he may not be what everyone wants on here but has anyone had an idea that he maybe an improvement on what we have, and let’s face it, it wouldn’t be that hard. Maybe Brendan thinks we are in a bit more of a race this season due to injuries, fatigue loss of form and getting a centre back in might see us through. He may look at it that 900 grand is worth the price of us winning the league again is worth it. Hand on heart can anyone on here say they have watched him consistently, or Coetzee or Benkovic . I know we have been linked with Benkovic so maybe that’s Rogers number 1 target . I would love to see us signing a quality centre back as like most of us on here I’m sick of watching boyata passing to the opposition with a 10 yard pass, but like Ed I can’t see that happening. From a personal point I would have preferred us to have signed skertl last summer. Hard defender, loads of experience and probably within our price range . ( what’s Marc rieper up to these days 😉.

{Ed007's Note - I also expect Steven Caulker to arrive, possibly in January or signing a pre-contract to join in the summer when his QPR contract expires.}

13.) 18 Dec 2017 19:24:19
Now that would good not holding my breath right enough.

{Ed007's Note - I was only told about it this evening, Rich while I was moaning about Compper to them.}

14.) 18 Dec 2017 19:46:48
Oh right believe it when I c it was it a reliable source?

{Ed007's Note - No, I just pass on any old garbage people I hardly know tell me.}

15.) 18 Dec 2017 20:10:31
Ok ED.

{Ed007's Note - :-p

16.) 18 Dec 2017 20:12:33
That's more like it Ed, he would be a quality signing, BR would get him back to his best.

{Ed007's Note - It cheered me up, Baz - and that takes a lot :-D

17.) 18 Dec 2017 20:26:50
Hope your right ed really like him.

18.) 18 Dec 2017 20:30:58
Mentioned Caulker earlier Ed that would be a terrific signing. I hope he is back to health and we can get the best out of him.

{Ed007's Note - Fingers crossed.}

19.) 18 Dec 2017 21:08:04
It's just Rich T Ed he has trouble with his DIGESTIVE system :-P.

{Ed007's Note - How's the Terry Henry joke going down?}

20.) 18 Dec 2017 21:41:06
Oh aye very funny my sides are splitting Jamiebhoy7 haha. Any more on the story we maybe interested in Mousonda?

{Ed007's Note - Nothing's changed since the other day, he's available for loan but Chelsea want to bring a replacement in first before there'll be any movement.}

21.) 18 Dec 2017 21:20:56
No bad mate my nephews loved it (Y)

{Ed007's Note - That'll be a classic :)

22.) 18 Dec 2017 22:08:26
Glad you liked it Rich T hope you realised I was only taking the biscuit (Y)

23.) 18 Dec 2017 22:26:25
Yeah yeah haha good one.

24.) 19 Dec 2017 05:20:43
Wow.
The reaction on this to us signing a 32 year old defender is absolutely mental.
At least give the guy a chance before he's even kicked a ball .

And as for looking to the future we have plenty of players at an age where they could be with us for years to come so maybe an older head at the back is what we need right now and after Sundays performance I wouldn't say no to that.

Also heard that Crystal Palace and ex Liverpool defender Martin Kelly is top of Brendans list for the RB position. out of contract in the summer so wouldn't cost a great deal.

25.) 21 Dec 2017 22:53:46
Of course what I would like is unimportant, but it would be great if we could suspend judgement on Compper until at least the end of the season .
Despite the decent financial position Celtic are in we cannot compete in the Western European markets for top quality players in their prime . We have to buy young players like Kouse, who may not make it and Ntcham who probably will make it . Also players in their 30's hoping to get a couple of years with them at their best.

13 Dec 2017 13:07:13
Any substance to the rumour we're interested in Besiktas' 32 year old Dusko Tosic? Can play both CB roles and LB?

Hi ED, With the Compper signing primarily for CB but being a cover option for LB and the emergence of Mickey Johnston where do you think that leaves Miller? Would he be deemed as one that would benefit from a loan out in this window? If so would you think part of that deal would mean he has to play LB or his preferred position of LW? Think he could impress on loan in the SPL in his natural position and persuade BR to ditch this attempt to convert in into a LB.

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything about Miller going out on loan but it would be a good idea imo and especially if Rodgers is going to persist with changing him to a LB. And yes, teams can be specific about positions they want players to play in whilst out on loan.}

1.) 09 Jan 2018 23:43:33
Appreciate your post ed but Larsson was a hero to our club. You can keep the 11-15 million we may have got at the time to keep him with us a year longer. You can't buy some of the memories the King gave us. The guy was a once in a generation player some fans have been lucky to see the likes of Johnstone, Dalglish, McStay and Larsson but these players don't come around to often so when we get them let's just enjoy the chance we have with players with that quality at our club.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 21:03:52
Shame that really. Would've liked him to get a run in SPL on loan in attack and give Brendan food for thought as he was once considered the best player in the world at his age. Strange one to try convert him to LB. Can't remember if he's ever been out on loan or not but would be good for him to show what he can do week in week out first before converting him to an unnatural position.

{Ed007's Note - I said at the time I thought it was a bizarre decision too mate. He made some strange decisions like that at Liverpool as well where it was called being 'Brendaned'.}

30 Dec 2017 17:41:43
Thought today was a baptism of fire for Ajer purely because of how poor everyone was around him. And he handled the pressure very well. Broony run the show in the first half but the midfield disappeared 2nd half and Brendan took too long to change it about. Sinclair wasteful! Ntcham should have started he has been on form of late and Armstrong done nothing against Dundee to merit a start ahead of him. Moussa looks totally unsettled and shouldn't have started. Boyata, Lustig, Tierney and Gordon terrible passing. Too many writing off Lustig but he will be good back up to Ralston when back. Winter break couldn't have come at a better time. Hopefully a new GK. A new CB partnership and the return of form for our key players and we will pull away in the league. It was games like that we miss Roberts and Rogic. Bu.

1.) 30 Dec 2017 18:13:00
I personally don't believe that ralston is the answer bravetart I think we need an established right back, and experienced cb (mayb the guy from Germany Is the answer, I don't know) to compliment the younger guys link Ajer and kt.

23 Dec 2017 20:24:12
Match report and McInnes' post match interview focusing on the ''Luck'' we got today. Not a lot mentioned about the luck in all of Hearts' goals against us all coming from defensive errors themselves. No mention of the penalty we should've had either which if at the other end would be the main talking point.

1.) 23 Dec 2017 22:41:42
Once a slug.

2.) 24 Dec 2017 09:11:25
I don't understand why it has taken BR this long to move Ajer off the bench into a starting slot. When Comper the new centre back starts in JN i hope BR does not start Boyota alongside him. Its got to be Ajer. As regards Moussa if we don't sell him in January he needs to come good second half of the season or his value is really going to fall. Looks a shade of the player he was before his injury.

3.) 24 Dec 2017 09:48:44
Moussa just needs that run of games and get back amongst the goals and Sevco is the perfect game for him to do that. Bit concerning how Griffiths is being frozen out a little too. Considering BR was going to find a way to get them both in the team together it has changed to him hardly getting in at all. Ajer has never really put a foot wrong domestically always thought he's impressed when given the chance and looks the best CB we have with the ball at his feet. Just a shame we didn't get to see much of him in midfield.

4.) 24 Dec 2017 09:49:44
Rodgers did play hard earlier in the season. However after a terrible performance against st Astana, which nearly cost us dearly, he was dropped.

No doubt Rodgers realised he wasn't ready and has been working him hard as he now looks more settled.

5.) 24 Dec 2017 20:35:28
Why are people criticising B R. and his decisions .
It just shows up our ignorance and ungratefulness. BR has got enough right with our club to deserve respect .

6.) 24 Dec 2017 22:26:30
I think we need to release the forward pass a lot quicker, lately we seem to over pass the ball, hold it too long, that causes the forward to be either off side, or covered.
Thought some of Aberdeen’s challenges yesterday were quite strong too.

17 Dec 2017 16:23:56
ED what's your opinion on Simunovic? Do you rate him? He was brought in to be this ball playing CB to reolace VVD and hasn't even laced his boots. Although BR doesn't like to point fingers it seems he has made a few public digs towards Jozo of late. One being about the fitness/ injury problem. Then he made comment about Jozo's passback nearly letting Hamilton back in the game and today he's put in a performance like that. I don't think BR rates him and can see him looking to sign someone to partner Boyata who isn't any good himself.

{Ed007's Note - I'm hoping it's just fatigue with Simunovic. He nearly left 18 months ago and I thought he was immense last season and not just for his tackle on Miller but he's not reached the same level as last season so far this campaign but not many have. I'll wait and see how he does in the next 6 months but as far as I'm concerned we need a quality CB to come in and a new GK asap.
I'd think about selling/freeing De Vries in January, bring in Scott Bain from Dundee to challenge Gordon until the end of the season and then bring in a quality 'keeper with Bain as our No.2.
Gordon turns 35 on Hogmany, are we really going to go into another season and Euro campaign with him in goal?}

1.) 17 Dec 2017 23:15:28
He just hasn't came back the same player since being injured he looked good beginning of the season. I didn't realise Gordon was turning 35. That is getting on a bit and I read somewhere Bain has kind of been frozen out of the first team lately? So that could be a bargain and definitely an upgrade on Gordon. And that was a great tackle on Miller I hope he's been saving himself for Sevco. Coincidence Miller could be "injured" again don't you think.

{Ed007's Note - Simunovic isn't the only has went downhill over the first half of the sesson though, the whole squad looks jaded and even players like KT are showing signs of fatigue from playing so many games. Jozo's not long turned 23 do his best years are still to come. Hopefully he gets back to his best and Celtic reap the rewards for years to come.
There's nothing I can say about Gordon that I haven't said before, he's always been a liabilty and it's not going to get any better as thd years roll on by.}

2.) 18 Dec 2017 00:01:53
Just watched the highlights, they look jaded and low in confidence, the CL might bring more money for the board, but I think the heavy defeats in the CL is harming the squad.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think the CL results have any effect on the team domestically, I honestly think it's more to do with the amount of games we've played in the last 18 months. Some of our players are on the 30ish games played this season, add that onto the amount of games to win The Treble and the short break until CL qualifiers it's a hard slog with two matches a week. And before the posts about how much they get paid and they should try working 60 hours a week to pay the bills, it's modern football - it is what it is. There's players getting a lot more than ours who don't put in the work needed to get a 69 match unbeaten run. This team has given us everything they could over the past 18 months and they've given us a Hell of a lot more ups than downs, I trust Rodgers to make the necessary changes over the next two windows and build on another treble.
I wouldn't say the team's lacking in confidence either, I think they started playing with reservations and perhaps the unbeaten run preying on their mind to the point we were going out not to lose rather than going out to win. We lost today but let's not make a mountain out a molehill, one loss in 70 games is hardly a crisis.
Hail (swear) Hail ;)

3.) 18 Dec 2017 06:47:12
Never seen Scott Bain is he any good? Why doesn’t he get a game for Dundee.

4.) 18 Dec 2017 08:58:46
Great post ed but don't fancy bain even for no2 would try for vorm if we could get him.

{Ed007's Note - A 34-year-old that's played around 30 games in the last 4 years - at least Gordon was injured to rack up those kind of stats.}

5.) 18 Dec 2017 10:29:32
Fair point ed but any time av seen him he's looked sound but get your point.

{Ed007's Note - We need to think a bit more long term than signing players on the wrong side of 30.}

6.) 18 Dec 2017 11:06:53
Darren Randolph ed do you know if he's available might be a shout.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know if he's available mate but he only joined Middlesbrough in the summer for about £5 million so if he was they would be looking to recoup as much of that as possible. Surely we could get better than him for that kind of money.
I'd like to see us make a move for Sondre Rossbach from Odd in Norway and while we're there get their CB Thomas Grogaard off them.}

7.) 18 Dec 2017 11:37:42
Great shout. didn't know Randolph cost that amount. definetley a pos that needs attention Gordons getting worse.

{Ed007's Note - It's been obvious since Rodgers arrived that he doesn't rate Gordon and I'm amazed he hasn't properly addressed the situation yet. I'd say we are consistently weaker in the GK position than we are at CB.}

17 Dec 2017 14:26:57
Has to be said but that's a worse performance than against Red Imps. It's been coming for a while now, I'd rather it had ended against Hibs than Hearts but a good number to finish the unbeaten run on. Jozo Boyata and Gordon not for the first time this season have been awful today they've been found out massively. Doesn't take a genius to know they've all got a mistake in them if they're put under pressure so that seems to be everyone's tactics now when we play them so there's more mistakes waiting to happen. If you can't do it in Scotland then you won't do it in Europe. Hopefully a defensive overhaul in Jan it's needed.

1.) 17 Dec 2017 14:32:33
Boyata for me is no better than Efe.

2.) 17 Dec 2017 14:34:01
I got hammered for saying that the unbeaten run weighed heavy on our backs and that KT wasn’t all that. I was proved correct today. If we can get 10 to 15 million for KT punt him now, we should be on crime watch if we get that. Let’s move on and start another unbeaten run. Come on you Bhoys in Green.

3.) 17 Dec 2017 14:41:06
We were going to lose eventually, but in that impotent manner - and against the Gorgie lot was very hard to stomach.

As bad as the defence was, it wasn't much better in other areas. Toothless all over the park. 3 strikers on at the end and not a decent effort. Thought Ntcham was unlucky to come off at half time. Credit to Hearts who pressurised us and we couldn't handle it. It's only 1 game and we move on. Lesson learned hopefully, and a kick up the backside before the Aberdeen and Sevco games coming up. Surely a few players coming in January to freshen it up.

5.) 17 Dec 2017 14:50:29
It was a very poor performance today, but I am not massively surprised.
We have a big squad, but when you don't have time between matches there is no chance to work on team shape, tactics, and cohesion with one another, you can't just throw 11 players together and expect them to gel every time.
What disappointed me most today was that Hearts only tactic would be to come hard at us from the start and not let us settle, yet we didn't seem ready for it, whether their injuries gave us a false sense of security I'm not sure but we never got going.
With 3 of our next 4 games at home, hopefully we'll soon be back to winning ways and show that today was just an off day.

6.) 17 Dec 2017 14:52:45
Dafabet, your talking complete nonsense regarding Tierney. Fair enough his performances lately haven't been great but my god, if your that hard on him then what's your opinion on boyata, jozo and Gordon? That defeats been on the cards for weeks, fair enough maybe no one seen a 4-0 but this team have been on the ropes for weeks. Whole defence needs a shake up no more so than 2 centre half a and a keeper.

7.) 17 Dec 2017 15:06:59
Terrible performance today and I will be very interested in BRs reaction to this.

Time is up for Gordon, Boyata and Lustig IMO. Simunovic looks half the player of last season. Griffiths was poor today and he is an easy target for BR. Interesting also to see how Sinclair comes out of this, poor again today.

Starting at 1 again in the next game!

8.) 17 Dec 2017 15:20:28
Very similar to Imps game. Toothless and wasteful up front and a defensive error cost us the game. Just a shame it was 4 today and could've been worse had Milinkovic lobbed Gordon and Gordons pass out was punished. I just hope Rogers sees this as a wake up call and realises we are in need of 2 first team CB and a #1 GK. I think most of the big teams in the league know now if they put a high press on us then they've got a chance of beating us, purely because our passing out from the back is sloppy and JS, DB and CG aren't good under pressure. I'd even go as far to say I haven't seen a worse performance since we lost to St Mirren 4-0 under Mowbray it really was that bad.

9.) 17 Dec 2017 15:53:49
Well, what can we say? Terrible performance today and Hearts showed exactly how to play against us. We all know the team's been off the pace the last few weeks, so a bad result was always on the cards, albeit a doing from the buns from the east is a tough one to swallow. But let's get this into perspective bhoys. What they have achieved is unbelievable and will never be broken. Let's re-set and go again. Brendan will know (particularly after today ) where we need to strengthen. The players need help and they will also benefit from the training camp in January. The Orcs will be all moist after this result as it's the only thing they take pleasure in nowadays is seeing us stumble. Onwards and upwards lads, it's still great to be a Tim.

10.) 17 Dec 2017 15:58:52
Daftbet your a strange character yet again the 3 bomb scares have let us down and for some weird reason your on ranting about tierney? Proved right? About wot? think u should pick a different sport cos your clueless about this one.

11.) 17 Dec 2017 16:12:14
It could be a blessing in disguise as we've been so under par if we went in to the Sevco game still unbeaten and not playing well there's more pressure not to have lost the record to them. The thing that annoyed me most was the amount of people slipping. Surely as a professional footballer at a big club you have more than one set of boots? I get that the pitch was soft but doesn't footballers carry a spare pair of boots on them for conditions like that?

12.) 17 Dec 2017 16:56:36
Dafabet normally don't like disputing amongst our own. But statements like punt Tierney that's ridiculous. The guys been outstanding since coming through the youth ranks gives it his all 99.9% of the time. Had some heavy tackles to ride today and never got going but my no means is he useless. I can confidently say that young Tierney is the best defender at Celtic at this moment in time, he will give you everything he can. Recognition of his talents have increased across Europe because of his effort. If we're ever going to move forward as a club this is exactly the type of player we need to keep. Agreed with Vinnie if that's your honest opinion you need to look at another sport.

I expect this to waken up some of the players who have felt half hearted efforts can win us games. It's time to recognise that we need to give it our all in every game and prove why we are the team that's broke back to back records.

13.) 17 Dec 2017 17:00:34
Well think we’re all pretty much of the same opinion, absolutely shocking performance but hopefully this reinvigorates the whole squad and we go again! But if we are looking to improve and progress as a club it cannot be with Boyata Jozo and Gordon in our back line! Said time and time again that boyata in particular is nowhere near the standard we need! Guys an utter shambles in that backine and on par with Ambrose for me! A big chance on Wednesday nite to prove this result was a freak! Then head into Saturday game against the sheep with confidence! HH ☘️☘️ On a side note Dafabet u take one load of Shoite pal honestly! What boyata and Jozo served up and u can somehow pick KT out from that! Utter nonsense!

14.) 17 Dec 2017 18:33:19
KT useless i've heard it all now.

15.) 17 Dec 2017 19:45:03
Boyata is the new Effe! All good things come to the end. We dust ourselves down and hopefully Rodgers lambasted every last 1 of them behind close doors. Wait till the msm come out with"Rangers up for the old firm fixture and celtic on the decline"

16.) 17 Dec 2017 20:28:48
Hold on, I’ve said that basically KT is not as good as he is made out to be. I stand by that, watch a rerun of the many European games we have been pumped in and you will see that he snatches at clearances, gets caught too far up the park and in general looks like the rest of the defense, not up to scratch. My point is this. If we can get top money for him we should take it.

What's to dislike about this? Clearly not a rumour it's a fact!

Mates a Newcastle fan and he uses him. Says he's strong and quick and he'd be gutted if he was to leave.

Could still do a better job than Gordon even at his age. Now you've mentioned it no doubt someone will post asking about rumours of us signing Given lol.

{Ed007's Note - 770 appearances (including internationals) and not one single goal to his name? Nah not for me ;)

He could be the new Robbie Keane rumour.

{Ed007's Note - At least he eventually turned up! What about Shay Given?}

A lot have took a dip in form this season. Jozo, Armstrong, Griffiths, Dembele, Tierney, Lustig, Roberts, Sinclair you could list more. Definitely due to the amount of games we have had to play. Some didn't get a full rest over summer because of the ridiculously scheduled international fixtures. Lustig seems to be suffering most by it as his age and legs are catching up on him. He needs a rest but can't due to the injury of Ralston. Moussa and Leigh are struggling for different reasons as both have had plenty of rest as has Armstrong as he gets swapped a lot for Newham. To me I think Sinclair has been sussed out as have Celtic which is another reason for the dip in form. Pressure on the defence seems to turn into goals now so hopefully with the rest a few additions and a tweak in tactics and style of play will help is rediscover last seasons form again.

I think people are overreacting about the lack of transfer activity, there is still 17 days. Once the squad is back from Dubai things will move along. Players will be sold and we will move on replacing them. If they aren't sold then we will see out the season with them until the summer window. Certain players won't want to move until late in the window as they will want to weight up all their options. It is likely only going to be 2 additions to the squad unless others are sold.

We will never be able to compete with the super clubs but at least not get embarrassed by them. Amiens are a small club that probably doesn't have the money we have but can still keep a result respectful even down to 10 men last night. I think that in itself would be progress in Europe. And finishing 3rd and a run in the EL is a good achievement. We may get lucky and get a real easy group when qualifying one time and possibly pinch 2nd but were likely to come up against one of these super clubs in the last 16. Although financially that is good for the club but a 12-0 aggregate loss against PSG is embarrassing no matter how good they are.

Amiens only lost 0-2 at home to PSG and they had 10 men for an hour. We are better than them yet with 11 v 11 we get battered at home to them.

{Ed007's Note - I said at the time I thought it was a bizarre decision too mate. He made some strange decisions like that at Liverpool as well where it was called being 'Brendaned'.}
