Story on Video Celts about us being interested in Robert Gumny. If we got him and Meling that would sort both postions out.

1.) 13 Aug 2019 06:14:40
I’d be buzzing if we got both 👍🏼.

2.) 13 Aug 2019 06:36:22
Have to admit I'd be really happy about both these guys coming in.

3.) 13 Aug 2019 09:12:05
For me that would be the defence sorted.

4.) 13 Aug 2019 09:29:06
I don't watch other football just celtic but that lb for rosenborg really stood out anytime we played them.

5.) 13 Aug 2019 09:36:09
We've been linked with him for about 4 years and both i g seems to happen btw would meling be cup tied for Prague games presuming we make it.

6.) 13 Aug 2019 13:16:25
Fingers crossed this is true. Can't see that amount being spent to bring in both.

16 Jul 2019 11:09:09
Looks like Perraud is set to move to Brest. Shame really as it looks likely that Tierney will leave in this window and our #1 target will have moved on to another club before he does.

1.) 16 Jul 2019 11:26:47
I thought Boli was our No:1 target to take over from KT.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 11:31:46
Was boli not our no1 target for lb.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 12:57:43
You would have though that if he was our number one target we would have bid for him before boli?

4.) 16 Jul 2019 15:28:29
Our #1 target of LBs we was looking at for when Tierney leaves. Do I have to elaborate on everything without having it twisted everytime by the sites 2 biggest disagreeing posters?

5.) 16 Jul 2019 16:31:52
So you know for sure he was our no 1 choice for lb. why would we spend 3mill on our 2nd choice when they both cost the more or less the same.

6.) 16 Jul 2019 22:08:39
Jeez a whole thread and not a single tit joke. Well done Cetlic Family!

7.) 16 Jul 2019 23:22:37
That's trippier off the right back list. When will it end!?

8.) 17 Jul 2019 00:08:12
20 mil for trippier 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

9.) 16 Jul 2019 23:59:57
Brave how do you know he was our number one target?

10.) 17 Jul 2019 07:57:23
Boli will need to improve significantly on his debut performance, I thought he looked very average against Sarajevo to be honest .

11.) 17 Jul 2019 12:19:41
Thought he looked not to bad for a player that hadn't trained much or played any games with his teammates.

12.) 17 Jul 2019 13:15:56
With you Kev looked ok to me in what was a poor surface, not many players shined to be honest

Tonight though hopefully they can put together a good performance and result

Set a marker for the season.

06 Jul 2019 11:10:33
Bournmouth just had a £2.5m bid rejected for Jack Stacey. Looks like he won't be coming here then.

03 Jun 2019 09:19:30
A West Brom website reporting they're likely losing Harper to us. Not seen much of the boy but seems like it will be great piece of business for just a development fee.

1.) 03 Jun 2019 12:06:31
Not seen him my self but he is highly rated.

2.) 03 Jun 2019 12:46:02
Mate in work is a West Brom fan. Says the boy is raw but has bags of potential. He's raging they could lose him for pennies.

27 May 2019 00:32:51
So Lawwell has come out and said there's no major rebuild needed for next season and people are over exaggerating it. Is he having a laugh!? Biscuit tin is back to stay now he has his puppet at the helm.

1.) 27 May 2019 01:40:46
Depends what your definition is of a rebuild. The squad needs trimmed down and the addition of a couple of players in defence. It's not as if we need 10 new players is it?

2.) 27 May 2019 07:16:53
Where did he say that? All I seen was that he said we have a strong core of players but Lennon will be backed best they can to strengthen that.

3.) 27 May 2019 08:38:07
To be fair his full quote was that he knew there needed to be improvement and said we won't stand still. Actions will speak louder than any words here, a lot of people feel let down at the moment.

Like BigBubs said - I expect more outs than ins this summer.

A lot of wages will be saved this summer with the dozen or so players who will go. If Lennon can halt the traffic to the physio room then there only really needs to be 3 quality signings in my book. But - they must be quality and ready to start in the first team.

4.) 27 May 2019 08:58:48
We need now what we needed two years ago. So more treading water and butt****ed in Europe. So how many people wouldn’t renew ST if they knew then what they know now. Unless Lennon is true to his word and plays hardball.

5.) 27 May 2019 09:16:13
No we need about 7.

6.) 27 May 2019 10:54:37
To be honest as long as they can offload the ones we don't need and keep the core of first team this will free up money from wasted wages like commper to all funds for the transfers we need.

7.) 27 May 2019 13:33:56
We need a right back, two cb's, as Jozo is prone to injury and Jack Hendry is . add your own words, a good midfielder as Broonie won't last forever and a number 9.5 players, and that's the minimum. Ewan Henderson and one or two others in the youths, maybe Dembele and Okoflex may step up next season. so yes a rebuild is needed, but is that massive?

8.) 27 May 2019 15:34:28
If people think that PL will give Lennon any kind of money for decent players then they are aff there nut.
Lennon was the cheap option and if you thought last summer was bad then wait to see this one.

9.) 27 May 2019 16:20:38
The squad does need a big overhaul, we will lose up to 7 or 8 players from our first team squad including three quarters of our defence (if Lustig goes) and back up defenders and with the four loanees almost all of our attacking options .

10.) 27 May 2019 21:03:07
Even if it is the biscuit tin mentality we could easily bring in £10m for Ntcham and a few fringe players.
Spend another £5m and £15m is tidy some for 3 x £5m standard players. Get to Champions league group and buy another 2 of same value or 1 top drawer of wages aren’t too pricey.

11.) 27 May 2019 21:54:12
We could lose 10 or 12. Not convinced Lustig is no1 choice RB if he signs a new deal then we need another and loan out Ralston then. Sp 6-7 players in is required to strengthen the squad or I'm afraid its curtains for 10 in a row.

12.) 27 May 2019 22:03:54
It is far harder to get rid of players that we don't want , than to get new players in . Hopefully we do manage to get rid of some in addition to the out of contract players . Numbers involved in signing players doesn't excite me . I prefer quality, last season if we had signed a half decent midfield player Ryan Christie may never have made the break through as he came on against Hearts to replace an injured player and didn't look back until his mate from Aberdeen ended his season prematurely . We have at least 4/ 5 youngsters that probably could really help us next season.

13.) 28 May 2019 18:51:28
Defo out:
Oliver Burke

Benkovic. might re-sign
The other Ivorian kid who plays midfield and is injured, name totally escapes me

That's a lot of players, some don't need replaced . many do.
That's a rebuild by any stretch of the imagination.

Just checking the countries coefficient. Scotland are currently 6th best performing nation in Europe this season.

Take into account the countries ahead of us have multiple teams still in it and most qualified directly from their respective leagues.

1st England - 4 CL, 3 EL = 11.571 pts
2nd Spain - 4 CL, 3 EL = 11.500 pts
3rd Germany - 4 CL, 3 EL = 10.714 pts
4th Holland - 1 CL, 3 EL = 8.600 pts
5th Italy - 4 CL, 2 EL = 8.357 pts
6th - Scotland - 2 EL = 8.250 pts

Just goes to show how much the rest of the league let's us down in Europe.

Overall Scotland are currently up to 15th in the coefficient and could rise further with countries due to lose big points after this season. Another few good seasons and hopefully it'll be back to direct qualification and another spot of CL for the runners up team.

1.) 29 Nov 2019 22:24:54
Can we ever go back to direct qualification? I thought the way it was changed by uefa meant teams from Scotland n countries alike would always have to do some sort of qualification regardless of coefficient points.

2.) 30 Nov 2019 02:16:09
Celtic have gathered the most amount of co-efficient points of any team in Europe this season so far, probably due to all the qualifiers and the amount of points we have achieved in our section.
Celtic are top with 15.5 pts
Bayern Munich And Ajax are next on 14 pts
Sevco are also doing well with 13 pts already this season.

It gets complicated because the points accumulated, must then get calculated into a co-efficient ranking and Celtic were sitting on a ranking of 31 pts, which will go up to at least 33 pts for next season.

Sevco’s ranking was only 5 pts but will go up to at least 11 pts for next season.
Already this season In Europe Celtic have made 9.2 million Euros and Sevco have made 6 million Euros.

17 Aug 2019 15:22:38
Anyone got a working stream for the game?

1.) 17 Aug 2019 15:58:23
Think celtic TV is down.

16 Aug 2019 00:02:32
When is the deadline to sign players in time for AIK?

1.) 16 Aug 2019 07:09:56
Does it really matter now the board and lennon have screwed us time and time again. This is almost like being under the Kelly's again.

2.) 16 Aug 2019 09:13:38
Don’t hold your breath brevetart.

3.) 16 Aug 2019 09:16:48
Wouldn't dwell on that. It'll come and go without anything of note.

15 Aug 2019 00:36:44
With all the negativity surrounding the club you'd have thought the board might've tried to push through a transfer to take some publicity off the squad and the board themselves. They've hardly covered themselves in glory in this window after poor previous windows but it would be a nice positive boost before playing in the cup this weekend. Just a shame we didn't get through as the signing links ie Gumny and Meling was exciting now I just expect it to be the cheap options in Taylor and O'Donnell. Can't say I'm overly impressed with O'Donnell but good things have been said about Taylor whom I can't recall standing out when we played them but people rate him highly on here. Need to address these wing backs before we have our EL qualifier against potential tricky opponents AIK. The other downfall with losing to Cluj is the whole Thursday/ Sunday fixtures as I feel it hinders us in the league.

1.) 15 Aug 2019 06:25:43
The prospect of the Thursday/ Sunday football till Christmas is a nightmare, especially for the fans travelling from up north, Ireland and down south. As for signings, I wasn’t expecting much from the club yesterday but from today onwards there is no excuse. Another LB and RB is still required. The goalkeepers we have aren’t the answer so we really could do with a new one. Still think we need another striker brought in. People will say we have 3, but if edouard gets injured or god forbid griffiths has a relapse in his recovery then bayo is hardly mr dependable given his injury problems. A LW is also required as Lennon has completely frozen Sinclair our, the lads that far out the picture he’s practically in Siberia. Shved doesn’t seem to get a game and Morgan isn’t the answer. Yes there’s MJ but the boy hasn’t the experience and can’t be expected to play every game. Regardless of us getting knocked out the champions league there’s still signings that must happen. If they don’t then Celtic really could become unstuck this season. That’s not an over reaction, that’s a real possibility.

2.) 15 Aug 2019 08:29:40
Neither Taylor or O’Donnell can play EL qualifiers.

3.) 15 Aug 2019 08:45:45
Fact is that we won’t get past AIK, our team is going backwards and we will probably lose the league now. All because of one man. Peter Lawwell. No european football is terrible for us due to our excessive wage bill. That will send us even further back as we will have to sell our best players to stay afloat. One man got us into this situation and he won’t bother to get us out as long as his retirement package is cushty enough. The whole club and supporters are in turmoil as we knew we should have got through there. Bad decision making from the word go. Now we all know why ED has went into hiding and why he’s been losing interest for a long time. I’m getting fed up too.

4.) 15 Aug 2019 09:41:38
Think we all hate the Thursday/ Sunday carry-on and with Sevco in the same position, I am sure the fixture list will be affected as well.

5.) 15 Aug 2019 09:15:18
Jesus wept, the board have giving the manager £12 -£13m approx this window. We have an incompetent manager.

6.) 15 Aug 2019 09:51:14
There won't be many more signed. If any at all. Same script as last year.

7.) 15 Aug 2019 09:59:48
Agreed although they ha e had 12 weeks and only brought in 4 players one of which is a project that won’t play much, 12m on 3 defenders and are defence is looking bad still a left back and right back needed to compete with boli and Elhamed
Cm and a forward and a gk 5 players are needed I think but we won’t get half of that 2 weeks to go and no rumours of us getting anyone Someone needs shot for this window.

8.) 15 Aug 2019 10:31:04
Spending 12-13m on defenders sounds good, however, to reverse Peters favorite soundbite, we're weaker now than we were at the start of the window.

14 Aug 2019 00:06:59
There's no knee jerk reaction here. the board needs sacking and take the manager with them! Totally unambitious. Who spends £10m on a LB and CB and leave them on the bench in a crucial game!? Clueless! CL money down the pan due to their dithering in the transfer market and not giving us the best opportunity to qualify. That Cluj mob are absolutely rubbish with their dinosaur long ball tactics. We are too lightweight we all know it we've all said it on here before. At least it'll save us a total embarrassment in the CL, Anyone that thinks we belong there are deluded we are barely even a decent EL team now! At least the bank balance looks good selling the best assets. well done Peter Lawwell on that I'm sure your bonus will be intact!

1.) 14 Aug 2019 06:08:36
Now is the time for the fans to let the board know exactly how they feel. I’m not suggesting boycotts etc, but your 100% correct. Everyone new the players that needed shipped out but also new the areas that needed strengthening. Our severe lack of activity in this window to date is alarming to say the least. Elhamed aside it’s beginning to look like we’ve wasted £10 million for two guys to warm our bench, that’s not acceptable. For Lennon to come out and criticise our defending alone last night is wrong. yes it was poor defending but how can he slaughter it whilst having signed £10 millions worth on 2 defenders that start on the bench and don’t even make it off it? How can he defend or stand by moving our most influential midfielder to LB to accommodate ntcham knocking the whole balance of the team off? Total shambles!

2.) 16 Aug 2019 05:17:57
Bravetart - first of all in NO way am I backing the board here but you first mention that we spent £10m on 2 players to leave on the bench then you say the board dithered in the transfer market.
Exactly what other position were you thinking we needed strengthen before last night game?

There is only one person responsible for that last night and it was Lennon.
why bring in 2 defenders, 1 being our 2nd highest transfer and not play him and to then say that he only dropped Boli so he could play Ntcham.
This just shows how inept Lennon is with his tactics and team selection. A scare thing is I read on another board that Celtic have never won a game under Lennon since the second season he was in charge during his first stint if we were behind at half time, I didn't believe it so I looked it up and its true.

The last time Celtic won ANY game after being behind at Half time under Lennon was against Hibs in the QF of the LC in Oct 2011.
We have drawn a couple but usually lose if behind at half time.
In Europe you need to go back to Braga at home in the 3rd round qualifier in the CL in Aug 2010.
We could be out of Europe before going to Mordor and the way we are playing they will beat us.

Good news that I was just reading there's a possibilty of playing 3 at the back! Would rather we stick to the formation that's been working for us and not change it.

Rogic is a weak link imo Christie everyday for me. I reckon we look a far better team with Frimpong in it as he's full of energy and drive. Although Elhamed does make us solid at the back him and Frimpong together didn't work as both of them was trying to defend the same only getting in each other's way.

Could do with bringing on Bayo for Rogic. Looks like we are missing Ntcham/ Christie game looks ideal for a Shved long ranger.

We could be a few seasons away from having the likes of Frimpong, Henderson, Dembele, Okoflex, Possibly Roberts (Birmingham) regularly featuring in the first team who all look promising talents. Just a shame Morrison left for Bayern.

Doesn't score or assist anywhere near enough for a #10 at our club. Christie and Ntcham miles ahead of him plus Rogic far too injury prone.

Just proof he needs to spend a bit more time in the gym. I'm sure Lennon pointed out he was concerned with the shape he was in at pre season.

Isn't there a way around it? Like a VPN or something? I'm not very savvy with that kind of stuff but sure I read on here Jamie was doing something like that and getting games? Or maybe I imagined that lol.

Tough window to judge him on but the balance of the squad looks good most of the deadwood has gone and he's managed to secure loans for a few of our promising youths too.
