Celtic have announced the signing of the 3 Japanese lads.
Well done celtic getting the business conducted so quickly.

Pod1

1.) 31 Dec 2021 11:36:39
Maeda is an obligation to buy so will become permanent in June.

2.) 31 Dec 2021 11:40:05
Excellent Pod.
Ange knows what he wants and I’m glad the board are supporting him.

3.) 31 Dec 2021 11:45:09
Great news this morning.

4.) 31 Dec 2021 12:09:54
For a while now we haven't had anyone capable of converting any of our vast amount of crosses into the box. Rarely do we score from a corner, but i think this will change now.
We have finally found someone who looks excellent in scoring with his head and running off defenders.
Our strike force is going to tear up this league.
These are the best two transfer windows I can remember and this ones just opened.

5.) 31 Dec 2021 13:56:45
Agree Pod, until we got Kyogo in we had no attackers who attack crosses in the box or run into space. He will give healthy competition to Kyogo and now we don't need to entirely rely on having Kyogo on to pick up 3 points. Seems to score a fair few with his head too. Ideguchi and Hatate will provide much needed depth in midfield and whichever one starts in there will allow McGregor to push further forward along with Rogic where they're most effective.

6.) 31 Dec 2021 14:06:38
Any idea who the three are Pod!?

7.) 31 Dec 2021 14:40:36
Aye Stubbsie but I have no idea why you posted that?
You're not daft and I'm sure you know how Google works or failing that you could always ask your man in Greggs!

8.) 31 Dec 2021 14:55:16
Great bit of business for peanuts as well.

9.) 31 Dec 2021 16:36:41
Haha Pod - was just being stupid and it's obviously backfired on me!

It was meant to be a rhetorically sarcastic statement as we have talked about nothing else but these three lads for donkeys!

My man in Greggs would have got this wrong - he's hopeless. The last thing he got right was when he said the Rangers Poppy Appeal cans were in danger!

All the best buddy.

10.) 31 Dec 2021 18:03:14
HaHa Stubbsie. Sorry I thought you were ripping it, turns out I was just slow!
I know you like your sarcasm so I should have caught on to what you meant.
Yes the names have been mentioned for a while but still good for the board to get business done so quickly. Looks like they have learned from the Lennon years. Time to take the league title back to Paradise!
Just woke from a wee power nap so off to get ready to head to the pub for the bells.
All the best to you and all the other posters who make this site what it is (Hoops 88 especially lol)
Hail Hail.

11.) 31 Dec 2021 19:08:13
No worries Pod - nowt wrong in being slow - enjoy your night out.

PS - I have a machine that turns fivers into tenners if you want it? Only £100!

12.) 31 Dec 2021 21:28:36
What a start to the new year with these bhoys this is going to be a cracking window.

13.) 01 Jan 2022 23:53:50
Thanks for the offer Stubbsie but there are plenty of folk from the Govan area and beyond who can turn 1 into 55 so I'll decline your offer on this occasion.

14.) 02 Jan 2022 14:31:41
POD ? ? ?.

I'm feeling happier this morning having just read the Kennedy's considering his Celtic future.
Carefull the door doesn't hit you on the way out Gonzo.

Pod1

1.) 12 Jun 2021 12:15:00
I think Kennedy should move on to, but I don't like the abuse he gets. He's a Tim and has tried his best I am sure. The board should have never forced managers to include him, he didn't, we must remember that. It's their incompetence that is the problem. If you do leave John, good luck son.

2.) 12 Jun 2021 12:57:51
Having worked under several managers I would have thought he would have been more astute and capable during that caretaker period - and I know the players were to blame as well - but he failed miserably and a fresh start would be best for all concerned.

3.) 12 Jun 2021 15:52:45
For me Kennedy was the mirror image of Lennon not one difference in strategy team selection substitutions infact if I didn't know better I was starting to think it was Kennedy picking the team and tactics all along under Lennon I don't wish him harm in any way but I wouldn't have him as a coach in any capacity at Celtic.

4.) 12 Jun 2021 16:32:42
But yet some said lenny didn't want him and he was forced on him but yet they had the same philosophy. strange.

5.) 12 Jun 2021 17:04:48
Shows you how the media are full of pysh, I read somewhere else that he has been assured that there is an important role for him to play on the coaching staff at Celtic lol
LESSON TO BE LEARNED: Believe NOTHING you read on the media sites. HH.

6.) 12 Jun 2021 20:56:18
The only thing to believe in a newspaper, the date and the price.

{Ed007's Note - Even the t*ts are fake!}

7.) 12 Jun 2021 21:11:47

8.) 12 Jun 2021 21:12:00
😄🤣😂.

{Ed007's Note - 😁

9.) 12 Jun 2021 23:43:01
Kennedy must go! . for us to move forward. It was said Kennedy was looking affer defensive tactics and shape . and we've never looked so vulnerable. Out ye go.

10.) 13 Jun 2021 09:16:43
I think if he is to stay he should go back to what he did best, coaching the youth team, he did well in that role but he shouldn’t have any role with the first team .

11.) 13 Jun 2021 19:41:33
Even the t*ts are fake 😂😂howling at that one.

Looks like Edouard has fallen out of favour at Palace so looks unlikely we'll get the odd-ons. Hardly kicked a ball recently and for all the guy clearly has talent, he can be frustrating at times with his lack of effort.
Saying that, I'd take him back on loan for todays game lol.

Pod1

{Ed007's Note - Edouard has 22 league appearances - 6 goals and 3 assists - out of 28 games that Palace has played and over the last few games they haven't had a striker starting as Viera has dabbled with a False 9 formation.
How do you know we won't get any add-ons? There could be an add-on if CP stay in the PL or it could be if CP qualify for Europe.
At least fans of his current club aren't writing Edouard off after only 6 months.}

1.) 06 Mar 2022 11:55:57
I didn't say I know I said it looks unlikely.
Also don't remember anyone writing him off after 6 months at Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - So how does it look unlikely that Celtic won't receive any the add-ons?}

2.) 06 Mar 2022 13:18:04
Think my reason of thinking is pretty clear in my original post.
Obviously you'll know best but this is my humble opinion and I thought I was entitled to that with this being a football forum. If you don't like me giving my opinion when it differs from yours then close my account and block my IP address.

{Ed007's Note - Nope, I've read it again and again and I can't see why you think Celtic won't get any of the add-on from the Edouard deal - do you even know what the add-ons are for - and I can't see where you're giving your opinion, you're stating as a fact that:

"Looks like Edouard has fallen out of favour at Palace" - no it doesn't

and

"so looks unlikely we'll get the odd-ons." - how does it look unlikely, because he hasn't played in a couple of weeks and the fact he is SIX months into a 5-year deal is some assumption even if you know what the add-ons are.}

3.) 06 Mar 2022 14:07:59
"Looks like" isn't stating a fact. Fact!

No doubt you'll come back with something else as you like to have the last word. I'll let you have it.

As requested. Close my account and block my IP address as I can't find a way of doing it!

{Ed007's Note - What did your last slave die of? If you don't want to post then don't post, it's not difficult to work out.
But you're spot on by saying "Looks like Edouard has fallen out of favour at Palace" isn't a fact because it isn't anything as it'simply isn't true, it's something you've made up because it doesn't look like that at all - and that's a FACT!
So I'll ask again, how on Earth does it "look like Edouard has fallen out of favour at Palace" and how the Hell does "it look unlikely we'll get the add-ons."?
It can't be THAT difficult to answer 2 questions about what you yourself have said, can it?}

4.) 06 Mar 2022 15:09:45
"What did your last slave die of? " - my stock response to that has always been "disobedience! ". Never had a single person have a great comeback after that - EVER!

This is simply a wee bit of handbags lads so come on, we are supposed to be a unit on here. Let's save our ire for the opposition. Take a cup of tea Pod1 and a Kitkat and get back in the saddle buddy - I for one want you on here for the run in.

We got a great result today - we should be on cloud nine.

The futures bright, the futures green and white.

03 Mar 2022 07:49:53
So the rangers greeting about VAR not being used up here but it's already been proven they would be worse off points wise.
last night they would have been down to 10 men after Tavernier's follow through on Ali Crawford.
That prick boyd saying it should have been a yellow. Don't know how someone with such warped views as Boyd can get a job as a pundit.

Pod1

1.) 03 Mar 2022 09:47:46
Unsurprisingly Sportscene didn’t show or mention the Tavernier incident.
It was the same for the Ryan Jack stamp on the Dundee Utd player in their last away league match.
The commentator said “that’s a replay of the Jack challenge at the end of the game” and that was it.
No mention that it was a bad challenge or he should’ve been sent off and it never got highlighted by the studio panel.
Ryan Jack never got a retrospective ban because his horrendous challenge was swept under the carpet and Tavernier will be the same.

2.) 03 Mar 2022 09:59:20
Pod it's because their employers want negative Celtic views as they are in pain as they thought that the Govan team would reign for the next few years. We are Celtic and we don't do second.

3.) 03 Mar 2022 11:16:00
Sportscene are as bad as SLY for their biased and selective reporting and have a reputation for their doctored highlights. The emphasis is always pro Sevco and critical of Celtic, but this is nothing new from this countries media and we take it in our stride.

20 Feb 2022 09:58:18
I hope Jullien starts today. He could be like another new player for us and offers the hight we've been missing in defence.
It was great to see the fans reaction to him coming on the other night. He has been missed.

Pod1

1.) 20 Feb 2022 10:37:55
Wouldn't be dropping CVC for Julian. Neither can play left of Central defence so its Starfelt.

2.) 20 Feb 2022 11:45:08
Auf, we paid 7million for Jullien and he only has a year left of his current contract. I'd like to see how he fares after being out for the last 14 months and Dundee at home is exactly the type of game I'd be looking to start him in. Saying that, I don't think Ange will start him today if I'm honest.

3.) 20 Feb 2022 11:58:09
As much as CCV has been a rock defensively, i think he is too slow when playing out from the back. He is at walking pace half the time. Our attackers need quicker better service before opposition settles back behind the ball.

4.) 20 Feb 2022 13:43:01
Julien needs game time, I'd be expecting to see him play today whether he starts or comes on later.

☘️ ☘️ ☘️.

5.) 21 Feb 2022 01:23:34
100% jobs ( 2 or 3 touches when should be one) HH.

05 Feb 2022 09:25:15
Good news that Jullien hasn't picked up another injury as was mentioned after he wasn't in the quad on Wednesday.
I'd hope he'd be near to making a return soon.

Pod1

1.) 05 Feb 2022 09:56:00
Celtic have a strong squad and young Welsh made the bench in front of Jullien.
It’s been a long 14 months for Jullien and hopefully he can take his chance, when it eventually comes along.

2.) 05 Feb 2022 10:09:15
We certainly do Buzz. When were talking about players like Turnbull perhaps struggling to get back into the team when fit again. It just shows how far we have come this season with the new recruits bringing quality to the team rather than just adding numbers as happened for years.
Although a lot has still to be decided before the league is won, we are certainly in a strong position. I never thought we'd be in a position to challenge this season let alone be sitting at the top at any point.

3.) 05 Feb 2022 10:17:09
Blinking eck - 14 months - he must have sustained more injuries than Deadpool.

14 months - you could quite literally grow a new Julian from a petri dish in that time!

I hope when he comes back I still recognise him.

4.) 05 Feb 2022 10:38:35
Buzz

I’m more worried about Kyogo.

It would be great to see him back.

The wee man could be the difference between winning the league and not. A speedy return would swing the balance seriously in our favour for me.

I agree we have a strong squad and maybe not quite Celtic without Larsson but close.

5.) 05 Feb 2022 11:02:43
I think there is plenty of room for Julien, Turnbull, Rogic, Gucci, Kyogo and the rest who didn’t play on Wednesday to get back into the team. I can see Ange using the five sub rule to ‘stretch‘ the period of intensity to the full ninety minutes. When they are all fit he certainly has the squad for it. For example Hatate and Rogic playing half a game each? What do you think?
?.

6.) 05 Feb 2022 11:37:51
People were saying we were signing too many players difference is they are all first team ready as apposed to lennys projects, we will need every one of them, and that's been proven up till now with our luck with Injuries.

{Ed007's Note - We've still got projects, Jota, Abada & O'Riley etc but the difference is that the projects are a higher standard and - more importantly - getting game time.
I wouldn't blame Lennon for signing projects in the past, that was down to Lawwell - and John Park for a while - but I would blame Lennon for not playing them or any of our own youth players.}

7.) 05 Feb 2022 14:23:56
Deffo mate turnbull only hot in a struggling team in Nov strangely, but you can see the boys you mentioned can play.

04 Feb 2022 07:38:51
A conclusion I had come to and which was further enhanced on Wed is I wouldn't have Soro anywhere near the first team.
His first touch is like a pass and he gave the ball away a few times because of this in the 7 mins or so he was on the park.
Hopefully he gets the loan move to Fortuna Sittard.

Pod1

1.) 04 Feb 2022 09:04:25
100% Pod, first touch like a trampoline.

Tackles from the 70's, needs to go.

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

2.) 04 Feb 2022 13:10:14
Gives me the fear as soon as he's announced to come on. You could play kerby off his legs.

3.) 04 Feb 2022 13:43:21
He is the only DM I have seen that can't tackle, totally shocking signing.
Lawwell must have been doing his pal and favourite agent a favour when they agreed to sign him.

4.) 04 Feb 2022 16:55:43
Totally agree lads. He's always 1 pass away from a booking too when he can't control it and gives the ball away then recklessly tries to win it back.

Both players have been outstanding for us this season and it would be great if they both signed up long term.
Jota really does seem to be loving life at Celtic and seems to be celebrating with the players and fans almost every game. Whether that's enough is another thing. We can only keep our fingers crossed as both players would be a great addition to our long term squad.

I'm absolutely disgusted if the spitting incident happened. There is a boundary and that's crossing it.
Can we ban McGregor from Celtic Park, if he did indeed spit on the Celtic crest inside the main door?
I'm all for banter and patriotism but that's not acceptable.
With regards to boyd, he should have been banned from Celtic park when the rotten mob banned Lennon and Sutton from the Crumble Dome. How he's employed as a commentator by anyone but the rangers Tv is beyond me.

Cheers Ed.
I logged off chat earlier after the Jota comment as missing the 1st half (didn't know the team) , trying to make dinner and being half canned while trying to type on live chat whilst watching the games wasn't working. Don't know how the kids manage it lol
Find it strange a player of Jota's worth was brought on when 2-0 up against such a poor team on a plastic pitch?

Pod1

{Ed007's Note - Excuses, excuses lol I knew you hadn't seen the first half and the Jota comment just kept up your reputation as being a bit "dizzy" ??

We have a 6ft 4 centre half who cost 7 million sitting on the bench. I was hoping he'd have started today.
He was also known to chip in at the other end and the amount of corners were getting with not even a threat on the opposition goal is a joke.
