I'm. hearing that Celtic are looking to entice ryan Fraser to Celtic park in a 4 year deal. Newcastle offering more money but Celtic looking to use the draw of leagues to be won and Europe, and the chance to play closer to" home" could give celtic a 15k jump start

Competing at the other end of a table with nothing to prove could be another trump card. A signing on fee of 2m paid over 4 years and 40k per week could well tip the balance.

For Ryan apparently it is not all about the money money money

Watch this develop. He is right footed but has played on left more often than not. and could switch with Forrest or push Forrest

He can slot in to a 3 5 2

Also a Celtic fan in to the bargain

This could be a 4 year deal

Or a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option agreed by both parties

Watch this develop.

I would really like to see the boy come here but I just can't see it happen unless we lose Rogic and Ntcham and i'm not talking about the position they play but after Duffy coming in I can only see us signing players once some leave.

2.) 02 Sep 2020 07:45:26
Would love to see Ryan Fraser at Celtic. Boys a cracking player. Honestly can’t see it but fingers crossed yae never know.

3.) 02 Sep 2020 08:19:58
That would give us Eddy, Elyounnoussi, Ajeti, Klimala, Griffiths, Fraser, James Forrest and Mikey Johnston for the forward positions.
Possibly 3-4 starters and even if three were on the bench, that would suggest a couple would be surplus?
Eddy transfer spec, Klimala loan-out and Griff out of favour could be the reason we were trying to get Fraser - or maybe not? Wait and see.

4.) 02 Sep 2020 08:26:00
Was rotten last year and for the figures being branded about £40k per week it’s a no for me. Yeah loads of assists the previous year and if you get that quality of player it’s worth pushing boat out for but too risky if your saying £2m a year in wages and £500k signing on fee every year for 4 years so basically £50k a week for 4 years, never getting signed off by the board.
We just had to wait until Brighton halfed the £2m Loan fee and agreed to pay £25k a week of Duffys wages or we would have signed him weeks ago so if you believe our board would sanction this outlay your unlikely to be correct IMO . unless Ntcham or Ajer is sold them I take it all back lol.

5.) 02 Sep 2020 10:28:41
Lol. I love reading your posts Lubo. You are never content with a wee rumour so you absolutely go for it. Salary, length of deal, outstanding credit card debt, new Burger King menu, favourite Spice Girl. Cracks me up.

6.) 02 Sep 2020 10:59:57
Well a 100% track record is difficult to maintain .

When it happens, and Celtic are trying, you can send a nice short email and a positive emoji.

7.) 02 Sep 2020 11:14:39
Lubo
You write like that Mad Phil the blogger. He got 1 thing correct aswell 😉😉😉😉.

8.) 02 Sep 2020 13:58:05
Fraser off to Newcastle according to Talk Sport.

9.) 02 Sep 2020 20:06:15
One thing Ninja?

Keep up old boy.

Celtic circling around Cardiff city left back Joe Bennett .

This is over and above Hickey interest.

Hickey not deemed ready. but CFC want him.

Bennett would be seen as an upgrade on what we have in terms of strength and age and experience. and character for a 10iar push.

and watch as this story develops.

This is a hammond call and I like what I've read.

1.) 25 Aug 2020 21:28:47
If I was Aaron Hickey and Celtic brought in another LB on top of Taylor, I would not be happy to be potentially down the pecking order when he already is first choice at his current club - unless Taylor is losing the managers confidence?

2.) 25 Aug 2020 21:36:50
Celtic_mad I hope not. Taylor is better than a lot of Celtic fans give him credit for. He signed for us and he's prepared to give it everything, all we need to do is give the lad a chance. He'll come good. HH.

3.) 25 Aug 2020 22:50:13
How many shots at signin a left back does Neil Lennon need, who's recommending these players think the scouting system must be needing addressed throwing money away left right and centre, Taylor deserves a run.

4.) 25 Aug 2020 23:01:41
I don't know where all this Taylor isn't good enough, is coming from, I think the guys a brilliant full back.

5.) 25 Aug 2020 23:33:45
I like Taylor's attitude and application. He is average though and should not be our No1 LB.

6.) 25 Aug 2020 23:38:36
Taylor is a decent defender but not suited to wing back role as his crossing/ final ball is usually terrible in my opinion.

7.) 26 Aug 2020 00:51:45
Taylor has the potential to be a good player for us. Think he needs more time. We gave Boli half a season so Taylor deserves the same.

8.) 26 Aug 2020 07:38:49
Hickey is better than Bennett so I'd be pissed if he was in front of me.

9.) 26 Aug 2020 07:52:54
Celtic supporters seem to pick and choose who they give more a chance to and Taylor is one that gets more of a chance. what do folk mean when they say he needs a run he's had a run and is nowhere near good enough if that's the level we are happy with we are in trouble. he's to slow his first touch bounces a metre in the air and can't go by a man unless it's on the overlap what gets him by is some decent performances at parkhead where most would look ok v Hamilton ect. we should always as a team should be looking to improve and if some fund don't think we can do better than Taylor that shows you where we are.

10.) 26 Aug 2020 11:58:33
Liamlennon, spot on. He is ok and is good enough for most of our domestic games. But we need to get better than him as our first choice. He is good back up material, bit like Jonny Hayes. Hickey seems like he might develop into real deal, Bayern wouldn't try and sign Taylor or Boli so that tells me enough .

11.) 26 Aug 2020 12:27:17
Let's think about celtic left hacks

Rogan
Wdowcyzk
Naylor
Tierney
McKinley ( tosh)
Possibly Pearson

We were LUCKY to have a Tierney . maybe once in a generation

Taylor is AVERAGE in terms. of SPFL championship context.

He might improve playing with better players

But it can't be said that he is a nice average or good . compared to what exactly?

I hope he continues to improve.

12.) 26 Aug 2020 13:39:04
Celtic were always caught out in the left back position under Martin O’Neil especially in Europe.
I don’t think he ever addressed the issue in all his time at the club.
Martin would usually play Joos there against better opponents.

13.) 26 Aug 2020 14:12:09
I don’t understand how we were lucky to have Tierney who sought advice from T
Rogic, our sicknote about fitness to return to play . Tierney who claims that he had to go to Arsenal as the Celtic medical advice could have ended his career last season . This encouraged the mammies of many Celtic youngsters to take their wee boys to other clubs where they would be better treated than staying at Celtic

G Taylor is doing a very good job at Celtic . Strong and dependable in defence, he is very good at linking up with attackers, doing one twos and has put in some terrific crosses, unfortunately they are not always converted. We may need another left back, to augment Greg not replace him.

14.) 26 Aug 2020 14:23:08
Interesting chris

I don't agree but hope I am wrong

He plays already like the jersey is top big

There are players that play with their eyes open wide, and those blnded by the bright lights.

Let's see how he develops. I hope for the best ( but fear the worst) but she will stay on this evening even if he chickens out and comes inside for a non descript pass 5 times!

15.) 26 Aug 2020 15:10:56
i thought he was a better defender before he came in bit unfortunately I'm being proved wrong.

25 Aug 2020 20:21:54
Further to Turnbull i've heard the following

Brighton do not want to sell duffy to west ham or west Brom. they don't want to improve a rival

They do want to sell him however for around 5m
Duffy wants a year up here but sees his longer term future in EPL and so the loan option works for us and Duffy BUT CFC PLC do not like the idea of 30k per week and a 2m. loan fee . that's 3.5 m out and nowt coming in

Ironically, celtic would sign him for 4m and pay him 35k per week ( 3 year deal with extension for a 4th year ( that Celtic could trigger)

I'm told that Duffy is in a bit of a bind. He could end up in championship with promotion chasing club which will resolve the issue. a potential loan to purchase option with Watford.

IF celtic can move the dial on the year loan fee from 2m to 1m or get Brighton to share the wages, then we get him for the year

This is FAR from done and could unravel very quickly.

LubomirWho

1.) 25 Aug 2020 20:37:52
Lubo, I hope you're right with the latter option. He's only 3rd or 4th best CB at Brighton. He isn't feckin Van Dijk or Ramos and I don't understand why so many Celtic fans are creaming their panties about him. He's decent but nothing more than that and if he wasn't Irish most fans would be tellin him to get te feck. HH.

2.) 25 Aug 2020 20:37:56
Buy him for 5 m, pay 30 grand a week and say he can leave next year for 5m.

3.) 25 Aug 2020 21:16:23
Even if Duffy does sign,
Celtic still need a left footed CB.
If we played a back 3 of. Jullian. Duffy. Ajar.
I don’t see that working.
Jullian or Duffy wouldn’t be suited to the right side of a 3 man defence.
And Ajar has shown he is not suited to the left side of a 3 man defence.

4.) 25 Aug 2020 22:38:37
I'll admit not seen a great deal of Duffy, but seen enough that I won't be too upset if deal is not agreed.

Be happy if we sign him permanently to add more a bit of steel and experience to our squad, but think it would be madness to pay a £2 million plus loan fee for 1 season.

We've been crying out for a left sided CB for a while now. Ajer is the best we have atm but clearly struggles in that role and feel we are doing him a disservice constantly playing him there.

Liked the sound of young American left sided CB Mackenzie that was rumoured a while ago. Already capped and able to play LB as well supposedly. Gutted there has been no mention of him since.

5.) 25 Aug 2020 23:14:20
Why pay him so much?, give him the same as Julien or Ajer are on, or tell him to jog on, he is not an outstanding centre back, if he can't get in the Brighton first team regularly, if he wants to come here, tell him to take a wage cut, . We are getting too strung up on this ten in a row, talking about bringing in shameless mercenaries, without progress in Europe, ten in a row is meaningless, bring in some young talented centre back with potential, develop him, progress the team, to become a European level teamm, forget ten in a row, make the goal European achievement.

6.) 25 Aug 2020 23:39:10
I thought that but heard Jim Duffy say this is one of biggest myths in football. He named many of best partnerships ever and all right footed. He also mentioned many of those playing on left side that are right footed including VVD.

7.) 26 Aug 2020 05:11:41
It’s interesting what Duffy has to say,
He did mention the Best Partnerships and VVD,
But these players who are stuck on the wrong side are not the Best,
And they’re certainly not a VVD.

8.) 26 Aug 2020 12:30:07
Duffy does not want a long term deal in Scotland
Brighton want to sell
Celtic went to buy ideally
Celtic will loan but won't shell out 3.5m for the privilege

This all comes down to Duffy. if he can give us 3 years. they it's on

If not. well it'll be championship in England with a loan purchase option

Unless Brighton reduce loan fee which they wont.

9.) 26 Aug 2020 18:19:17
Aindoh, getting good new players in to play in the SPL Is very difficult . We have found in the past that poor players will sign with no problems . Telling the like of Duffy to take your offer, or to jump on his bike, will mean Duffy and others will regard us as a club, not interested in signing at all.

Ed

Trying ( trying) to be optimistic but I've now tipped over the edge

Let's get REAL here .

We wanted big Forster the colossus and he didn't want to come

Instead we get Barkas and all he has done is pick the ball out of the net since arriving. Jesus, he's had opportunities to impress ( game saving moments) but has contributed next to nothing .

With forest and el hamed out, we are really toiling over on the right side. With those 2 out, we still ( still ) persevered with the 3 5 2 with a 19 year old novice in a KEY position ( oh my days) . Frimpong, at the moment, with a full strength squad would be Lucky to make the bench never mind be our hope. That said, forest form pre injury was hopeless and we all remember el hamed against Ferencvaros ( culpable) . now we are turning him in to the new big hope ( a little desperate) , what is it they say about absence makes the heart grow stronger?

On the left we were relentless in our general adverse view of Taylor's qualities. We bring in laxalt to allow Taylor to be a defender ( not a wing back ) . We now have the uruguayan but we want to fit Moi in, a player that would NEVER have fitted in to the preferred 3 5 2 ( a formation we were screaming out for earlier in the season) why?

We wanted the no nonsense defender, a term used frequently by many because we felt Ajer and jullien were too soft ( both allegedly wanting out) . Duffy never featured in a back 3 but we force the issue in any event and make him play in a back 3, and now his nerves are shredded. and like el hamed. bitton is the new missing Bekenbauer all of a sudden ready to be drafted back in when over CV. no need apparently for a no nonsense defender!

The midfield 3? Take your pick from the anonymous soro, the talismanic Turnbull, the turgid brown, the maestro McGregor, ntcham the nonchalant, " greedy wantaway" Christie. the all but sold ( deal collapses) rarely available rogic, the new hope week ending 25th october

On the left we have the wing wizardry of mikey " injured" johnstone who is also quite partial to hogging the ball like Christie.
And then there is the 16m elyounussi who splits opinion as a maverick or a brilliant disappearing artist. Hot and cold doesn't cover it, but can't play in the preferred 3 5 2 unless as a ACM which he ain't!

Back on the right we have Frimpong who cannot ping in a decent cross and who cannot tackle a fish supper but in September was our brightest star and our talisman after a big impact in the demolition of . Riga ( a noteworthy scalp)

Up top we have eddy on a downer but lighting up France U21s pre C.V. but can't get a shot off for us . and then concerns over post C.V. recovery . and still no mew signed contract. Glakit Leigh Griffiths who opts not to train as a professional from March but picks up his 16k a week wages nonetheless who miraculously gets fit in 3 Weeks ( but not match fit) , now replacing wee Jeremy as the next big hope.

Oh and ajeti who was pursued for weeks and arrived well below match sharpness and general fitness. but polish paddy returned like the incredible hulk albeit with a goal return that is hardly terrifying. about to be chased away now that the attention has shifted from Taylor

This is a tumultuous season. History Bhoys, museums, new club shops, Adidas . pampering taken to new levels. AND THEN .

Ferencvaros
Squeezing past Riga
Last ditch win at tannadice
Last ditch win at mcdiarmid
Squeezing past sarajevo
Squeezing past LIVI 3 2 ( should have been 3 3 )
Zero shots on target versus them

We gave ourselves a free pass against milan ( how standards have dropped) to make ourselves feel slightly better, and thereafter we right off europe.

We at last, flip to a starting back 4 for the must win at pittodrie . and we concede 3

Is this self implosion?
Is it rotten luck?
Is there a crisis of confidence?
Are key players happy?
Are players hungry and motivated?
Is lenmon surviving minute by minute HOPING to get the breaks and build from there?
Is the coaching cohort good enough to drive standards higher?

Ed, you probably never got to the end but this must rank as one of the most confusing periods in the last decade . AND ALL HAPPENING WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPILY ARROWING IN ON 10

I think we would all agree, that this won't be easy for Neil. Lennon

I hope he gets a wee break soon.

25 Oct 2020 14:22:44
If TALENT works HARD you'll WIN matches

BFKB highlights that only hard work will get Celtic back to where we want celtic to be

Can't disagree with that

Hard work
For 90 minutes.

LubomirWho

1.) 25 Oct 2020 14:26:35
Uts the most sensible thing av heard him say. but with ntcham rogic and moi in the team and ajeti they don't do hard work. griff ran his socks off and gave movement ajeti is like a statue standing waiting on the ball never ran channels effin joke.

2.) 25 Oct 2020 14:28:25
100% lubo. I'm thinking perhaps the players aren't as fit as when the previous manager was here. Back then we were chasing everything for the full 90 mins in winning battles all over the park. not any more!

3.) 25 Oct 2020 14:34:18
Ajeti will have been reassured of starts but you are right mally

Some fans think if a striker scores a goal then job done

But a good one scores, links up, runs the channels, sacrifices themselves and opens it up for AMCs and others

Maybe ajeti was told to stay central who knows.

But like you, I think it is about pride, hard work, sacrifice, teamwork etc.

We don't look like a team or play like a team . the transitions from back to middle are poor and Christie is all over the place with decision making ( I'd still play him tho)

But there is little consistency moment to moment, no fluidity, and no guarantee that we can control and dominate in the right way

I don't think a 3 3 equals NL sacked or walking away .

4.) 25 Oct 2020 14:40:26
Harsh on rogic who was involved in all three goals. Woth a talent like him the others in midfield should do the hard work so he doesn't have to. Never saw riquelme bust a gut! Was Ntcham and duffy who really cost us today. Again. Also calmac was poor and very lucky not to be sent off for persistent fouling and then a blatant foul for the penalty. Like it or not we miss Broony when he's not playing as noone else can put in a tackle . As soon as Jullien or bitton are fit they need to come in for duffy. Would also take Frimpong out for EL hamed. Think Frimpong has a lot to offer from bench when opposition are tiring. And with Eddy still to come we will be a lot more solid and better going forward. Win our game in hand it will likely be 3 points in it. Lot of games to be played.

5.) 25 Oct 2020 15:00:03
I thought Rogic did what he was on the park to do, create chances.

The main difference between both teams was that every single Aberdeen player would run through a brick wall for McInnes, the same cannot be said about our players for Lennon.

The main thing Lennon seemed to be able to do as coach was motivate players. If he cannot do this, which I don't think he is at the moment, then his time is up.

25 Oct 2020 14:13:45
The lack of tackling in final moments pre Aberdeen penalty is a worry .

Neil Lennon looks haunted

I think he gave us a line up that many would have liked

The lack of momentum is frightening

No solid leeper
Centre halves unresolved
Right back?
Left back new player

Middle to front. ask 1000 fans to select those players in those positions and you won't get anywhere near consensus

If we are honest, it isn't easy in terms of line up, given recent form and general performances

We don't have a stand out performer.

LubomirWho

1.) 25 Oct 2020 14:18:48
NL looks haunted. He should be fecking hunted no haunted.

2.) 25 Oct 2020 14:21:36
Totally agree. My wife asked me who Celtic’s best player is and I couldn’t thing of one. They are all pretty average to be honest. When the injured players return I hope we get better but it could be one of those years where we have to suffer defeat in the league because the football is shocking to watch. .

3.) 25 Oct 2020 14:41:07
When you concede eight goals in three games, it's probably irrelevant who plays in attack, when you need to score at least 4.
Duffy has had a nightmare week and looks a very poor 'investment'; we have a right-back that is not a 'back', then there's the goalkeeping issues and the amount of penalty kicks we have given away this season, all adding to the building pressure.
Most of us were happy with the team named today (bar Ntcham) and for good spells, played well, but self-destruct is never far away, when the confidence is low and the line-ups vary week to week.
I'm not going to rant about the manager, but obvious substitutions were required at 1-1 and might have made all the difference?
Next week we face Aberdeen in the Cup and today will have a poles - apart effect on both teams, with us needing some sort of lift.

22 Oct 2020 18:28:05

Same as sevco match apparently with exception of

Klmlala moi out griff and ajeti in.

1.) 22 Oct 2020 18:38:39

3.) 22 Oct 2020 18:40:54
Well if nitcham is playing tonight lubo that is a joke. What does Turnbull need to do to get a game. I'm sure Christie won't be too happy either.

4.) 22 Oct 2020 18:44:55
If true . I imagine a Scottish type det up. absorb . play right. punt and chase and try and get ball in to their box in whatever way possible

I think that's why it implies of team is right.

5.) 22 Oct 2020 18:52:42
Does that mean Ntcham McGregor and Brown again, which has been proven time and time again it doesn't work. Unbelievable.

6.) 22 Oct 2020 18:53:18
The odd thing is the lad that tells me the team . always nails it way way in advance.

Let's hope we give ac milan something to worry about

Good for front 2 to get minutes in legs for pittodrie.

Morning all / ed

I have been all over the online blogs since Saturday and watched for the messaging come out of celtic park

Lots of rumours, not many positive ones but there you go

The wantaway stars was a real problem, not so sure it is so much now

Anyways, I digress

NL interview yesterday, between questions. body language .

Some. of the content was valid but he looked ( in terms of body language )

Spooked
Exhausted
Beat
Unsure
Melancholy

As each question came pouring in, you could tell he was uncomfortable

To his credit, he heaped praise on the players and double downed on their professionalism and exploits and highlighted that he knew they had gears to move through

He took the blame for the 2nd half display and said it was all about him in terms of performances. which was good ( in a way)

Anyway, my point.

He reads all of this. he is well aware of fans low level of confidence in him ( maybe he shouldn't be so interested and maybe he should avoid the noise as he calls it) but our manager, leader, anchor, commander and chief is Miles away from the fiery, over confident, ballsy character that we know him to be

The lennon " stare " has gone and he does look like a rabbit in the headlights . not so much frightened and overwhelmed, but more resigned to the brutal truth that he will shortly be run over by the Volvo hurtling towards him

I don't want to see NLs legacy irreparably damaged

I don't want to contribute any more to the negativity around him and his abilities ( be it man management, tactical nuse, standards, talent spotting and talent development)

I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. It's a results business and not a personality content or beauty pageant.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, starting from now

We are celtic

Hail hail

Faithful through and through with no entitlement to anything

Enjoy your day folks.

LubomirWho

1.) 22 Oct 2020 11:59:27
I feel NL now is a different character from the NL that took over from Mowbray. Think he had to channel some of that rage elsewhere but also think its diluted that passion and determination he once had. Bringing back the thunder I think was the quote used at the time. We could be doing with some of that now.

2.) 22 Oct 2020 12:04:33
I had noticed his passive and vulnerable interviews since the CL exit and he knows better than most that these media and tabloid morons are not the slightest bit interested in his or Celtic's welfare, or plight, but how far can they push and coheres him into a corner and wait for him to crack.
Slippy on the other hand has a hold and control over who and when he speaks and has asserted influence on both the SPFL and SFA.
I agree 'Lubo'; he is currently a shell of the character and person he was and he seems to have taken a battering from all sides inside and outside the club.
Personally, I don't think he has surrounded himself with inspirational, motivational or problem-solving assistants?
However, If he can't regain his authority and swagger because the stuffing has been knocked out of him - he should go?
Possibly, if the support and players saw more fight (in the right way) , passion and direction it could make all the difference?

3.) 22 Oct 2020 12:06:01
It’s a footballers world now because of their wages.
Gone are the days when the manager could get away with the hairdryer treatment.
Lenny in his first stint was probably a character the players feared but he knows he won’t get away with that now especially with what happened at Hibs.
I know what you mean Lubo because Lenny is like a different person now.
Some would argue that’s the way it should be because the days of Jim McLean from his Dundee Utd days was OTT.
I was worried he would lose the dressing room after his Ferencvaros meltdown and I think it’s still early days if that is in fact the case.
The players have showed fighting qualities to grind out results recently and Saturday was more of a selection and tactical nightmare for/ by Lennon.
These next few games will let us know if the players are interested in playing for their manager.
I hope to god they are.

4.) 22 Oct 2020 12:34:52
Buzz bubs and celtic mad . all really good posts .

Let's see how we set up this evening

A little bit of lady luck for NL would be overdue.

5.) 22 Oct 2020 12:38:49
We also have to remember this is a man who also struggles with his mental health and could be struggking.

6.) 22 Oct 2020 12:43:33
We have to take a step back from all of this and look at the basic facts.

We are not an insular, backwater Scottish club. We are a worldwide respected football club with a massive history and a first class business model.

As a club of this magnitude we should have first class leadership and first class coaching staff who in turn should be filtering down to the players motivation, enthusiasm and maximising and nurturing ability.

With the status and standing of the club, the players should be proud to pull on the jersey and to give 100% at all times. The supporters pay their wages and all of the first-team squad earn well in excess per week what supporters may earn in two or three years, and they should understand that.

A club of this magnitude should have succession planning, ensuring that any fringe or Development players are coached to come into the first team seamlessly when called upon.

The Board has a corporate responsibility to ensure the standing of the club is maintained in the marketplace and and they also have a collective accountability to the fans who pay to make things happen.

None of us on this page probably know eactly what is happening behind the scenes. We can hear and read but there appears to be something which is not right. Somewhere down the line there appears to be unhappiness, demotivation and anxiety. This cannot be allowed to go on as all it does is compromises the good name of Celtic. Something is clearly not right - and something clearly has to be done, and quickly.

Stengo

I'm sorry

Celtic is a PLC

They have a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders.

Any sensible Business is in the Business of profit maximization/ optimisation

There is a link between happy fans, success and of course revenue BUT in in our case, we have the issue of being in a league / region that IS constrained in terms of TV and sponsorship.

The reason the Board don't go all out to make the champions league ( more revenue) is because nothing is guaranteed and we could run the risk of overspending on players and wages and fail to recoup the champions league bounty ( where we don't pick up many points anyway albeit we get the plus 20m for a season)

The domestic prize money for trophies is hardly dazzling either

And so, our Board do just enough to drive revenue ( aka keeping fans happy and giving fans sufficient incentive to buy season books, merchandise and pies and pizzas )

A close run thing with sevco is a business choice; weirdly that optimizes revenue in our backwater league which has never been properly positioned or backed in a PR/ marketing sense

Celtic Board KNOW we have the fans, but regrettably we don't have the platform and with so many vested in shares and options, they will keep a keen eye on that aspect.

With poor dividends and a hint of toiling profits the share price could tank ( albeit, uniquely, perhaps many of celtic shares trade less because people hold on to them for longer )

Anyway, the point is that we probably overpay average " lost " or " off form " pr " project " players JUST to make the switch to Glasgow's east end and thereafter, to bring the magic to financial performance ( and line the pockets of savvy executive board members ) we sell our best assets on a phased basis . meaning that

We won't ever be as talented and secure in terms of actual talent and emerging talent as we would otherwise like l.

The Board is not accountable to fans

We fans are a source of revenue, nothing more nothing less

Yes to world class coaches
Yes to world class leadership
Yes to careful succession planning
Yes to everything else that is all rainbows and yellow brick roads

Why not?

But your " take" is romantic and naive ( a lovely sentiment nonetheless )

Hail hail.

3 excellent sources
All based on people talking to people
1 ex celtic player still very much involved in game
1 plays a significant role in the SPFL
And the other is a Celtic minded manager

Liam Lennon, I'm not anti NL. he wouldn't be my choice but as Celtic manager he gets my support every waking minute ( not to be confused with my being critical of him after the event, be it line up, subs, in game management and tactics etc)

I'm told that key players wanted to go after 9.too many to mention

Celtic dug in. we did look for replacements but the VOLUME of wantaway players took Celtic and Lennon by surprise

It was a rejection of him, us, and indeed the power brokers

Bit, as a Busoness, we made the business decision to hold and search. and incoming players would dictate who went .

The board where also concerned about losing momentum but overhauling squad to deal with wantaway stars

So essentially, we have top players ( 1st team) with a majority wanting to be elsewhere

This has made Lennon's job incredibly difficult.

Players wanting to go is not a new thing, but the French trio want out, ajer wants out. christie wants out. Bitton wants out.

Added to this we have signed unfit players who probably weren't able to bring the intensity of performance from. the get go.

This means we have new, unfit players being overplayed alongside players that want to actually go . and a huge unused pool who actually want to be here but who aren't deemed ready

This is bad management, but not necessarily just lennon

The nature of the issue means a quick fix is incredibly difficult

The hope is that we can rebalance and go again with promises made and incentives created to reset and push hard for the 10

A new manager ( alone) would resolve the impasse

Neil lennon will be looking on in disbelief.

The players have really really let the fans down here. lennon would have gone further apparently after ferencvaros. but it would have been bad news for the balance sheet

Key players are " doing the bare minimum " to keep up appearances, but the hard work isn't being done and the hunger and togetherness has gone

Neil can't say it
Peter Lawell won't admit it

But it is a real thing apparently

So, in summary, the issue is the volume of players that want to go and for celtic it is, for the most part, those players with a value ( which means they are more difficult to drop )

I was also told that brown wasnt dropped

In fact, he is so disgusted with many 1st team players that he, like lennon, wants us to see the pre madonnas for what they are

And rhats it

Not terribly sexy

But that's the issue apparently in a nutshell

Lennon would play Welsh, Ralston, brown and anyone else is committed, but on this modern age, you can't just go aboot driving 6 players worth 100m in aggregate in to the reserves!

Buzz. they probably have a slot and only so much time . and knowing an editor. I imagine that with time constraints. they seek to capture the essence of the narrative but always have to cut cut cut

Its normal

For one so self driven you are incredibly paranoid.
