Absolutely baffled and bitterly dissapointed at last nights performance as we all are, every team can have an off night but the way it panned out last night something just didn't add up.

I just don't understand why lenny needs to keep tinkering about and breaking things up that aren't broken it's so frustrating, the 3-5-2 has worked so well since the turn of the year so why did he need to switch it and play elyounoussi who has hardly kicked a ball for months over an in form Griffiths?
There's something very worrying about celtic not playing 2 strikers at home against a team like copenhagen there really is.

As for the defence, ajer and jullien have been the main parternship for most of the campaign so why shunt ajer out of position to right back in the first place? These sort of decisions from lenny are really mind blowing they really are and as for brown i totally admire him giving it his all to push and start the game but even he must have known in his head he wasn't fit for it last night and did more harm than good.

That game was there for the taking last night and now it's over, I don't want to sound like a dead beat and I'll follow my team to the end but there's just no more excitement now for the rest of this season, we've done a treble treble and will hopefully win the league so I honestly don't care if we go out the cup, I just wish we had the balls to stand up and be counted on the European stage.

Agreed. Just so frustrating watching the same mistakes every single year. We should have taken our chances and played our fit players (ie not brown or elyounoussi) but no one to blame but ourselves.

It's been posted before and I know there were a good few individual errors - but why does NL tamper with a successful line-up in these important games. OK Ntcham and Christie were unavailable, but Eddy needed his strike partner and the backline didn't need tinkering?
Said last night that we hadn't gone further than Feb in Europe since 2003/ 04, but we had a great chance last night against a team with no more talent or class than we had - but once again we threw it away.

I understand the formation because it's what worked so well for us in the groups but it just wasn't good enough on the night. As I said before, I felt we were very comfortable until Jozo sold the jerseys and then after that the crowd and the team got so anxious.

Why not play, or what's wrong with playing 4-4-2? Keep Ajer and Julien together and Eddy and Griff together and build the rest of the team around them. It would be an easy enough formation to either start with 3-5-2 or revert to it when the team's attacking. Bauer would be a better right back than breaking up a defensive partnership that isn't broken.
