Any truth in the Adidas kit deal I've heard being mentioned? They'll have to change the seats in the North stand upper if so haha.

1.) 28 Jun 2019 19:02:33
Would be first time. Had a nike tick up there at one point did it not?

2.) 28 Jun 2019 20:47:29
theres a guy on twitter (B4 u say it I know ) : he posted that we are looking at a 5 year deal worth £35m and that we are in talks with ADDIDAS and KNAPPA.

3.) 28 Jun 2019 21:26:29
When does the one we have run out?

4.) 28 Jun 2019 21:58:51
End of this season Kev.

5.) 28 Jun 2019 23:20:07
Not sure how we agree to these figures to be honest. I know it’s a big sum in Scotland but we sell massive amounts of training gear and kits. We are well televised over the world, I appreciate we aren’t in a money league like the premier but some of their deals are well over what we get. Arsenal signed a deal with Adidas for over £50 million a season. I’d be surprised if we didn’t outsell them by 3-4 to 1.

6.) 28 Jun 2019 23:34:30
Well you can be sure the pistol will have something lined up.

7.) 29 Jun 2019 05:38:48
Sorry Quinn but I doubt more Celtic shirts are sold than Arsenal never mind 3-4/ 1.

8.) 29 Jun 2019 08:40:03
Arsenal sell shirts 4-1 to our shirt sales Quinn, if not more. Look at the European shirt sale table, they sit about 7th, we don't feature in the top 20.

9.) 29 Jun 2019 10:57:34
How much is our current new balance deal worth?

10.) 29 Jun 2019 12:57:35
I've had tops since the Umbro days and the current New Balance gear is some of the best. My first Nike top suffered bobbling in the wash but admittedly they did get better over the seasons. The logos on the old NT: tops used to keep coming off. I wear Adidas on the gold course though and its all good stuff too, a tad expensive though.

11.) 29 Jun 2019 13:03:39
That's one thing we can't slag pistol for the man knows how to run a business we're lucky to have him and I know he has his faults.

12.) 29 Jun 2019 13:24:07
C'mon Kev you need to listen to some of the punters on here - PL will be too busy sabotaging transfer deals and ruining out club to be actually bringing us in another multi million deal.

13.) 29 Jun 2019 13:37:13
Would love an Adidas kit! Tbh the designs and quality of NB kits have been Tom Kite, especially that new thing.

13 Jun 2019 14:59:01
What's the craic with this big laddie from Toulouse then? Reports say we're ready to offer about Eur 8m which would be fantastic from an ambition point of view. I don't know anything about the guy but if nothing else it's an exciting rumour!

1.) 13 Jun 2019 23:41:30
Hopefully we can get this CB over the line before preseason. A lot of outlay without selling anyone but Connell and Harper could be imminent and the sale of Ntcham and Mulumbu could cover that? Hopefully money used to get Benkovic on loan again and 2 x RB and a back up LB. Can see Tierney going though so would Perraud be a worthy enough replacement? Other than that we've a solid enough starting 11. Gordon replacement? Another striker? I just can't see us spending much more after that business. But at least the board are active and trying to get things sorted early.

15 May 2019 14:08:55
Seen Nestor El Maestro is 25/ 1 for the manager job. Had to look him up cos I'd never heard of him but with a name like that I hope he gets it.

1.) 15 May 2019 17:27:32
We were talking about it today in work and we were convinced it was Paul McStay under an alias 😂.

2.) 15 May 2019 18:24:04
Henrik, that is a flippin cool name for a new manager lol HH.

3.) 16 May 2019 13:23:22
keV you might be spot on about mcstay he's presenting the trophy on Sunday 😂😂.

30 Jan 2019 11:22:18
Toljan deal 'imminent' according to the Daily Record. Must be true.

15 Apr 2018 10:13:29
Roberts to start.

1.) 15 Apr 2018 10:35:03
I hope you are right HT.

2.) 15 Apr 2018 11:38:19
Me too!

3.) 15 Apr 2018 11:50:52
would prefer Roberts definitely today over forest. hopefully Rogic gets a start aswell just in behind the moose fancy Rogic for a goal today 16/ 5 with paddy power. let the people sing!

4.) 15 Apr 2018 12:42:35
Surprised Rodgers hasn’t tried Forrest on the left and Roberts on the right given Sinclair’s poor form. Forrest prefers cutting inside anyway. Today’s probably not the day to try it though.

5.) 15 Apr 2018 12:57:42
Said that last week mate. Today will hopefully be the day Sinclair runs riot!

Just read an article on the BBC website about Shaun Maloney and how much he's learned working with Martinez in the Belgium setup. He was a great player and always came across as more intelligent than your average player. I wonder if the will ever be at Celtic or indeed if Maloney himself will be a future manager for us.

{Ed007's Note - No thanks regarding Martinez and if that's who Maloney's learning off then it's a no thanks to him as well. How he got - and held onto - that Belgium job is mystery to many people.}

1.) 14 Nov 2019 14:00:44
Any reason Ed? Maloney speaks very highly of him in the article if you've not read it.

{Ed007's Note - Martinez doesn't have a clue how to set up a defence, some people talk highly of David Moyes, ask Everton fans who they'd rather have back.}

I'll be the first to admit I, like many folk on here, was very disappointed that Neil Lennon got the job full time.
However I think he's done a fantastic job so far and I highly doubt that BR would have got a result last night.
I also just love listening to his interviews. He clearly gets through to the players in his team talks and I read one of the players (can't remember who) said he was one of the best motivators he'd worked under.
He knows the players are capable of playing better and what i find myself agreeing with his assessment of the games.

Let's hope it continues. Hail hail.

1.) 25 Oct 2019 13:04:49
Gd man Henrik
Few on here accused me of being a Lenny lover when he got the job wonder if they will do like you and say what a great job so far he has done. . I was just saying why it was the correct decission imo.
The media when he got the job saying Lenny got the job in the toilet. What a load of garbage. They have no clue imo my opinion I will keep saying it they never judged Lenny on his skill and the amazing record he had last time as a manager. I support whoever the Celtic board employ and keep positive
so far they have did the right thing as in the end it's there money and reputation etc.
The way they drooled over Judas was border line cringe look what he did Lenny has also changed the way we play I actually get excited now how wee look on the park it's sometimes a joy to watch.
It's early doors still do far So amazing what a night last night. HH.

2.) 25 Oct 2019 15:12:12
Am with you Andy lennys doing fine.

3.) 25 Oct 2019 15:41:19
Cheers mally doing fine you are right. It's early doors yet but great start.

4.) 25 Oct 2019 17:09:00
All teams go through a sticky patch and when that happens, we need to stick together. For every bad result, we can't be calling for the managers head. That's not fair.

5.) 25 Oct 2019 22:03:34
I’m not so sure it’s been a great start we lost in Champions league before the last qualifying round and are level on points and GD in league which we weren’t at this stage under Rodgers.
Highlights were Ibrox win and last nights victory but still need to go away for next 2 matches.
I’d say 7/ 10 so far but a place in final of league cup, a point in Rome and win at Pittodrie would make it an 8/ 10.

6.) 26 Oct 2019 12:21:42
its million times better football to watch,
even when we are behind i still feel we are going to win,
was it not hearts who where running away with it last year.
The start we have had has matched the last manager to do it, who was jock stein.
so that makes it a better start than Rodgers straight away,
We are also top of the
Europa league and SPFL
we have also beaten a few gd teams and had great Europa nights So far,
yes CLUG is the only negative lazio also got knocked out of the European league and now in Eoropa league is that a negative as well for lazio does it make them not gd enough as well.
lets be honest here the game against lazio was like a European tie it had everything.
GGGG Im not sure about you but as iv said on earlier posts i do not see being in the Europa league as a plan B or lesser plenty of great night and much more money Coming in if we keep going and there is also our coefficient stats to keep in mind,

20 Sep 2019 21:35:38
What's the latest with griff? He injured?

1.) 20 Sep 2019 23:46:53
I don’t think it was serious. He May be in the squad for Sunday.

2.) 21 Sep 2019 03:59:00
Lennon said on thursday that he'd be ok for sunday.

3.) 21 Sep 2019 08:40:24
Think lennon said it was a dead leg.

28 Aug 2019 16:08:34
If at the end of last season we were told we'd have 2 new right backs in we'd be delighted. Hope we can get a decent lb in to compete with Bolingoli.
We'll get through tomorrow, the people will go out and we'll hump them on Sunday and normality will be restored. KTF.

1.) 28 Aug 2019 17:00:08
Of we get a LB in who actually is a LB there will be no competition with Boli. We would just need to hope he didn’t get injured because that’s the only way Boli plays LB.

2.) 28 Aug 2019 17:24:17
Lennon tell you that magic.

3.) 28 Aug 2019 18:56:02
Boli will be a good signing for us I have no doubt, everyone makes mistakes it's about learning from them and he has definitely been better last couple if games.

4.) 28 Aug 2019 18:56:45
A good LB Kev and we are good to go mate 👌.

28 Aug 2019 14:06:49
Anyone know much about Bauer?

1.) 28 Aug 2019 14:21:41
Played 16 games for stoke last year that’s about it matey.

2.) 28 Aug 2019 14:24:47
Looks a very pacey tidy player loads of energy I think brilliant signing. more to follow. first time poster thanks for letting me join ed long time admirer.

{Ed007's Note - No need to thank me mate, welcome aboard 👍

3.) 28 Aug 2019 14:31:49
Stoke fans seem gutted that he’s away, apparently fell out with manager, a lot of stoke fans saying he’s the best RB they have, if he’s a standout in the championship he should do great for us.

4.) 28 Aug 2019 14:38:09
Aye. He needs a haircut.!

5.) 28 Aug 2019 14:50:21
Only signed a new 5 year contract in 2018.

6.) 28 Aug 2019 14:54:55
Stoke city are bottom of the league and can't buy a win and yet they can afford to leave Tom Smith, who chose stoke over Celtic on the bench and loan out another right back Bauer to Celtic because he can't get in their squad.
Bauer is 27 and has only played 170 games in his whole career and is still waiting to score his first goal.
I am glad we have competition for the right back slot and it should be a good tussle between Elhamed and Bauer. I would imagine Lenny would have asked Stoke player James McLean about Bauer.

7.) 28 Aug 2019 15:06:26
My old house mates a stoke fan so watched stoke a fair bit when they where in the premier league and he looked very good. Had my mate text saying we have a quality player. I'm very about this.

{Ed007's Note - No, they carry forward until the quarter finals are finished.}

I think we'd pay that. Problem we might have is other 'richer' clubs wanting him too and able to pay bigger wages. If he's happy here then that's an advantage for us.

Haha right so we go all the way back to Cluj. You saying he didn't learn a lesson there? Best thing that happened was us losing to them btw but if I remember correctly we finished above them in our EL group? Nah he didn't learn anything from that defeat. You seem to expect us to win every single game, very realistic. And the players take no blame for being absolute pish in those games.
Didn't one of the players recently say he's one of the best motivators he's worked with? It was your pal Jonny Hayes.

{Ed007's Note - I can remember everyone being delighted when we were put out the CL and saying it was the best thing to happen to us - the celebrations went on long into the night.
So if the problem wasn't motivation and it's wasn't the manager's tactics then what is it and why does Scott Brown think Celtic need a new game plan to play against TRIFC and what does he think needs figured out before we play them the next time? Come on, it's not THAT difficult a question is it?}

30 Dec 2019 12:22:54
You'd have to ask Scott Brown?
We didn't play well so there's that. We let rangers control the game and didn't pass the ball quickly or effectively.
It's good to see you're on now with your 'I was right' smugness after 1 defeat.
Don't you think the team needs to look at where we went wrong in the last 2 games against them? Or does the manager just not have it?

{Ed007's Note - One defeat? Have you forgotten Cluj where he majorly ballsed it up and cost us a CL place and didn't we lose 2-0 to Livingston and draw 1-1 draw with Hibs who were 2nd bottom of the league? It's not smugness btw, it's being realistic and saying how I - and many others - see it.
Lennon spent the whole of December playing a system with no recognised LW to be ready for yesterdays match then patched it for a scrawny kid who is nowhere near match fit and has failed epicly against them in every match.
I just think it's very strange that the captain thinks we need a new game plan and that we need to figure out how to play against TRIFC when all he supposedly needs to do is tell himself and the other players to try harder, and if that's the case maybe the problem is that the manager can't motivate the players.}

Spot on CarmyleBhoy.

{Ed007's Note - Why do Celtic need a new game plan to play against TRIFC according to Scott Brown and what does he think needs figured out before we play them the next time?

The Celtic captain said that he still felt the team were on track for further success but that they had to devise a game plan to come out on top in the head to head matches.

"Rangers played quite well. They closed us down and we didn’t play as well as we possibly could have. We need to learn now, because that’s two games in a row now where they’ve probably outplayed us.
It’s the performances against Rangers that we need to make sure we improve on. For us, we know what we need to do and what we need to improve on.
We’ll have a few days off before meeting up in Dubai and we’ll figure out how we’re going to play against Rangers the next time."
