Evening Ed, any craic with the links to Van Den Berg and Wjndal? Seem far too good to be true. VDB was one of the best young CBs in Germany last season and Wijndal has pedigree.
{Ed007's Note - Sepp van den Berg (CB) He won't get a chance as a starter at Liverpool and will most likely be sold in the summer to raise funds if a buyer can be found - could be a mistake by the club but the player has taken the position that he wants to move. There is no release clause for Mainz but they will have a first pick option if he were to be sold - and they have made their interest known and will look for an option to buy the player who has had a great season. They have already held talks with Liverpool. PSV, Brentford, Southampton and Wolfsburg offer options. He certainly burned bridges in an interview with De Telegraaf. Player now says he is being priced out of a move to PSV and is seriously miffed with the club. He says communication is non existent.
I'll try to find more out about Owen Wijndal, PSV have spoken to his agent but Ajax could be difficult to deal with.}
1.) 07 Aug 2024 21:15:25
Owen Wijndal played for AZ Alkmaar when we played them in Ange's first season, as with all the players in the team he was a very tidy player.
The other two I really liked were Pavlidis who just went to Benfica for €20m euros and yhe Japanese right back Sugawara and he has just signed for someone in England I'm sure, can't remember who it is though.
2.) 07 Aug 2024 21:38:01
Cheers big man, appreciated ?. When I think of BR being backed, the club bringing in a bit of quality and pedigree and with players they could still make a wedge on, these are the sorts of names want to see.
3.) 08 Aug 2024 07:21:36
Good shouts royjac. The ones that got away. I temember myself thinking about Sugawara and maybe Ange might make a move. He's ended up at Southampton you're right.

Good to get a defeat out of our system and back to winning.
People suggesting Engels replacing CalMac. At domestic level Engels could play that McGregor quarter back sort of role for sure. But replacing a captain is a big step. I guess sometimes you have to take them. It wouldn't solve that area of the pitch in Europe though.
Khun. Unfortunately we probably need to have his replacement lined up as I can see offers in the summer for this lad that we won't turn down.
{Ed007's Note - I think it's more likely Kuhn will sign a new contract than leave in the summer.}
1.) 05 Jan 2025 18:05:56
Engels will fill the MOR role like he has been doing.
I assume we will look at options to bring in and replace McGregor. I Imagine Johnston will be captain when McGregor goes dependant on what CCV does
If Tierney comes back everyone will expect him to take over that role but he will need to earn it and prove he won’t be a hospital case.
2.) 05 Jan 2025 18:14:23
Has to be next level record fee numbers. Back to Germany or pub league?
3.) 05 Jan 2025 18:16:34
Many of us have been saying for a good while that a CDM is required, particularly for European games.
A midfielder we apparently looked at last summer is playing very well at the minute, a Pole named Bogusz who's playing the number 10 role for L. A. in the MLS.
He might be worth another look.

Anyway, I hope we have something in place to make it permanent and I'm confident we can beat Motherwell in the final.

Who would you play upfront tomorrow night? Bit of debate in a group chat with a few mates going on so just wanted to see opinions on here. In my heart of hearts I wanted a better striker than what we have for these nights but it wasn't to be. A few saying Kyogo's finishing has been poor and could cost us and that Idah deserves a shot (I get this argument) . But the football we're capable of playing with Kyogo's movement (Bratislava look slow at the back) could be the way to go.
I'm going Kyogo.
1.) 17 Sep 2024 17:30:20
I'd start kyogo.
2.) 17 Sep 2024 17:49:32
Kyogo but he needs to start taking a bigger percent if chances. he's probably missed 2 in every game this season.
3.) 17 Sep 2024 17:56:21
Defo Kyogo.
4.) 17 Sep 2024 18:08:57
idah. kyogos been rotten.
5.) 17 Sep 2024 18:38:30
I'd go with Idah.
6.) 17 Sep 2024 19:25:46
Poor game on Saturday but saying he’s rotten is bollocks. just scored in the Sevconian slaying and he scored goals in champions league last season against better opponents than Sloven.
{Ed007's Note - 2 goals in 12 CL games simply isn't good enough.}
7.) 17 Sep 2024 20:32:29
Seems about the same split on here too.
I fancy our chances either way tomorrow. I'm not going to show Bratislava too much respect, we need to go out there putting a stamp on this game. But against any side at CL level, whoever plays, they can't go missing one on one chances. They need to be at it.
8.) 17 Sep 2024 22:31:56
Buzz idah v kyogod stats?
9.) 18 Sep 2024 03:23:21
I was wondering Gerry, if somebody (wink wink Buzz) had conversion rates for the two.
10.) 18 Sep 2024 09:55:10
4 Celtic goals tonight. Kyogo will score two. Big game player.

I've been quite critical in the past of Maeda's returns. Never questioned his work rate, energy and pace combined to be a great asset to the side, but just felt he should score more. He has since, started to score more. But most notably, he's enjoying himself more it appears. He used to be expressionless, never really celebrated. But now, he cheers with the crowd and has a smile on his face. Perhaps BR has done something, perhaps he's just more settled. But either way it's quite a relief to see. I still would have liked to see us sign a wide attacker but I have a wee gut feeling Maeda could have a great season.
1.) 02 Sep 2024 17:53:00
A cult hero.
2.) 02 Sep 2024 18:31:33
He stopped letting Delilah cut his hair.
3.) 02 Sep 2024 18:35:39
What he brings to team outweighs his weaknesses.
4.) 02 Sep 2024 18:46:53
DRB
Absolutely.
Every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.
5.) 02 Sep 2024 20:07:38
If Maeda had any technical ability he’d be playing for Man City!
6.) 02 Sep 2024 21:35:59
The improvement in Maeda (not to mention Kuhn, Scales, and Bernardo) is in no small part down to one of the best managers in business - BR!
He has a lot of qualities but making good players even better is his best one. And btw Ange had just about given up on wee Jamsie… look at him go now under BR ?.
7.) 03 Sep 2024 17:08:29
Defo a Cult Hero, JFP ?
Absolutely Ken, he'll still have a heavy touch, cross one into the stand and miss good chances but if he wasn't doing that, as you say, he'd be elsewhere. I just think he'll add to his game and there's definitely a change in his demeanour.
I like to think so Rogician, there's a lot I like about Ange, and there's a lot dislike about BR. But when MO'R says he preferred the man management style and atmosphere under BR no reason others don't either.
01 Sep 2024 14:59:51
After a poor start we got ourselves back into it and it was easy in the end. Just disappointed it wasn't by more.
I have to mention James Forrest. I have been one of his biggest critics but 500 games for Celtic is special and he's done something I'm sure all of us have dreamed of. We'll done.
1.) 01 Sep 2024 15:26:11
Well Done James.
He looked like scoring with 2 shots inside the first minute on the pitch.
03 Feb 2025 16:51:33
Worked with Rodgers/ Celtic previously. Tick.
Under 5'11". Tick.
01 Feb 2025 21:47:23
If they're good enough they're old enough. So they say.
01 Feb 2025 21:46:12
So am I.
01 Feb 2025 21:45:59
I've been thinking in my head for a few weeks now 'I bet he goes for Iheanacho, I bet he goes for Iheanacho'. I've just seen a link to Iheanacho. We could go for Iheanacho.
28 Jan 2025 08:39:07
A mate was on about it being on Sky Sports News yesterday, if that gives it any more credence. Girona also reportedly interested.
12 Feb 2025 19:21:22
100% JFP. As sad as it is that's where we are at this stage and this tie. Don't get our arses felt and keep the tie alive. If we go out hopefully its with our heads held high.
08 Feb 2025 13:13:16
Sesko ?.
05 Feb 2025 18:01:28
It's all over the park Kevbhoy. With the exception of Idah and Trusty we're absolutely tiny. Now you need a balance of course, but we could really do with being a more physical side at times.
03 Feb 2025 16:53:36
He's the one player in Scotland I'd like us to sign. He's got a very good footballing head on him. He's calm and composed and for his age tactically aware. He could certainly be mixed in the squad but a player like him needs to play regularly.
31 Jan 2025 12:19:17
CCV featured in the clubs training photos earlier so looks like he's not far away at all.
