Knutsen according to reports has rejected a move to Ajax. One Harold Bratback highly recommends him on basis of his ability to work with youth and lesser resources but play attacking football and complete in Europe. Qualifications the fairytale teller doesn't have. He doesn't appear to have an ego or a suntan either. Downside apparently he's in no rush to leave Bodo but I've added it to my prayer list anyway. As a sign in a wee shop in Airdrie used to say In God we Trust (All Others Pay Cash) . A better shout than placing your trust in Ange.

Maybe one for the future, but at the end of the day - the future Celtic managers could be every 2 years (or less) ? Lettuce pray.

Knutsen apparently knocked back Ajax, saying he only wanted to leave Bodo during the season if it was for a special challenge.

My guess is that rules us out, as Ajax are probably a slightly more attractive prospect, as they play in a better league and have better chance of doing something in Europe.

{Ed007's Note - Ajax need to play in a play off to qualify for the EL group stages.}

Aberdeen are at the same qualifying stage as Ajax.
If they lose their Europa League playoff tie, they will drop into the Conference League groups.

Any idea of Ajax's UEFA coefficient compared to ours?

I'm guessing this would be a good indicator of how well each of us do in Europe in recent years. I also recall them getting to a Champions League semi- final a few years ago.

Ajax are 13th and we are 57th.

Cheers MGC, as I suspected, Ajax generally have done better in Europe than Celtic in recent years.
