It's looking like Bitton could be leaving at the end of the season.
If he got a one year extension, it would trigger a 10 year Testimonial for Bitton.
I don't think it's been mentioned on here today.
What's everyone's thoughts?

Testimonials are almost unheard of these days whereas 20-30 years ago there would be several, usually during the close season and Celtic were a popular choice of opponent because of the huge travelling support. I thought we'd abolished them, simply because James Forrest has been with us well over ten years and I don't recall the position with him? Bitton may not have been everyone's cuppa tea but he served the club well under several managers and helped us to domestic domination. Before Bosman, I remember a 'free transfer' used to be like a golden handshake, where players could negotiate signing-on fees etc but now it just seems to be -right then cheerio, thanks and don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Rogic will be 10 years next January as well btw.

{Ed007's Note - It depends on the contract, testimonials are usually written as a clause in players contracts for reaching that length of service but it's not set in stone, more a mutual option if all parties feel it,s appropriate.
Testimonials lost all respect from me when Henrik Larsson and the board colluded to rip off the Celtic support for his pay off.}

To be honest buzz I have never been a huge Bitton fan he definitely loves the club and he’s far better in cdm than Cb. But I just think if we’re going to play cdm we need someone better. He’s probably been ruined a bit by getting played at CB when we’re short. I think he’s had a good season at CDM but we could do better no harm to the guy he’s been loyal to the club and I’m sure all Celtic fans wish him well. But I couldn’t see him being a midfield rock at CL level.

Bitton has won 18 major trophies with celtic, and had to put up with not always playing but has never been one for complaining.
