DR leading a Kyogo to Burnley story.

What absolute BS I'm sure if he was for the off he would be harbouring ambitions above Burnley.

And apparently Spurs want CCV back. What a load of nonsense. Anything to destabilise us instead of properly trying to find out who will be coming and going ??‍♂️.

2.) 25 Jun 2023 16:46:13
During an open transfer window, we are better ignoring the SMSM, as they could easily have your wife wanted in England.

3.) 25 Jun 2023 17:43:41
Well they could easily have her Celtic Calling. I wouldn't stand in the way of that transfer ?????.

Do you think the Scouting team are picking the players that will be coming in or the head of recruitment? Just asking as I am really sure we are looking at him but I don't think Rodgers would know a lot about him? Or perhaps Rodgers has gave the green light to us trying to get him in l don't know.

3.) 22 Jun 2023 12:03:38
The scouting team present the players but the manager will green light any official bid.

Hes 5'11, he's taller than Mooy, Ideguchi, Hetate and Mcgregor, kante is 5'6, height means pi## all as a CDM, work rate, stamina, passing and tackling, all that matters as a CDM.

I have heard a very strong rumour that by the end of the season Celtic will have over £180m in the bank.

Unconfirmed sources have suggest that the Celtic board have got the current £60m lodged with Hills and 365 and got 2/ 1 odds on a Sevco league win.

Adam Idah. Just wow. He's as far away from a big name signing you can get. Can't get a game for Norwich. 1 in 10 goal ratio and He's only got 8 letters in his first and last name put together.

The board are doing this for ships and giggles now ain't they.

Tbhoy

1.) 31 Jan 2024 08:39:05
How many letters does a player have to have in his name to be an oven ready quality CL player?

Iraq beat Japan this has guaranteed Iraq win group D of the Asia Cup.

Japan should hopefully seal 2nd spot putting them against the winners of Group E in the first knockout phase. South Korea are the favourites for Group E. the match would be played on 31st of Jan and we would at least get 50% of our international players back for early Feb.

Tbhoy

1.) 20 Jan 2024 11:49:26
Both OH and Yang have made the bench today.
South Korea have scored an early goal and lead 1-0.

2.) 20 Jan 2024 12:26:58
It looks like South Korea don’t fancy playing the tournament favourites Japan in the next round.

South Korea are now losing 2-1 at Half time.
If they finish 2nd, South Korea would meet Saudi Arabia or Thailand.

Quick question for Ed/ buzz

Seen the rumours linking lagerbielke away but is this even possible. I always understood players couldn't play for more than 2 clubs in a season. Since the Swedish season overlaps ours and he played with his Swedish club and ours does this count as two clubs. If he left in January would he even be able to play.

Maybe the rule has changed or because the seasons don't align it doesn't count. Or maybe it's just lazy journalism.

Tbhoy

{Ed007's Note - Currently, under the FIFA Transfer Regulations, a player is only allowed to be registered with a maximum of three clubs in one season. This also applies regardless of what country that player has plied his trade in, whether that is in Europe, Africa or South America.
During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. However, a player may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season if he has moved between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (ie, start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring). This is only allowed if he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs.

Absolute and utter Naivety at this level again. We don't get near a corner in the first half and mess about on the ball in the 2nd.

Anyone that thinks there's a footballer in Yang is sadly mistaken he can't take on a man and has no final ball at all.

The recruitment has been shocking. The same players are struggling in Europe again and the only addition to that team from last season was Phillips only signed due to injuries and Yang who was an utter passenger.

Why can't any of our managers see we need a competent CDM to make a mark in Europe.

Tbhoy

1.) 04 Oct 2023 22:26:20
£18 mill spent and we've stood still.

2.) 04 Oct 2023 22:33:29
18 million spent on mediocrity.

3.) 04 Oct 2023 22:36:00
Celtic have got punished at this level for our mistakes in the last year.

I hope we don’t give Ath. Madrid too much respect in a few weeks time because Feyenoord were easily the better team tonight but Madrid were clinical with their chances.

Maybe Yang is a confidence player and will get better because to be honest he can’t get any worse.
I was pleased with how Palma played in the last 30 minutes.
O’Riley was my MOTM.

4.) 04 Oct 2023 22:40:29
DRB

I disagree we’ve gone backwards.

5.) 04 Oct 2023 22:45:10
I don’t look at as Celtic spending £18 Million.

I look at it as Celtic making £10.5 Million PROFIT this summer in the transfer market.

It’s worse than standing still because it’s downsizing.

6.) 04 Oct 2023 23:15:30
Weejoe some of them may prove themselves. but i think we went down the wrong road in the summer experience and quality was needed and still is but we went for cheap quantity . too illustrate this point wee need a win and the midfield substitute choice is either turnbull who isn't up to it at this level or a boy who hasn't played a full spl game and may not be up to spl level.

7.) 04 Oct 2023 23:44:00
They'll probably tell the new manager he has no funds in January or worse still sell oriley and buy another 9 cheap "projects"

8.) 04 Oct 2023 23:57:55
I don’t think the Board use the same method of deciding transfer budget as u buzz, and I am sorry u will always see transfers in and out different. The Board uses the end of June figures to decide what they are going to spend . This yr Jota ‘s sale was counted Starfelt wasn’t. . Board also decides what they are going to spend on other Capital spending, like Lennoxtown and Barrowfield. Money raised from ist July to 30th June allows Board to decide transfer budget for the following season.

9.) 05 Oct 2023 07:41:02
Turned out the way I thought. Just like when we get late goals not being good luck, results like last night aren’t bad luck. We just aren’t good enough to hold out without a disaster. Gutted but not in the least shocked. That sums us up.

18 Sep 2023 23:12:49
What a very impressive set of results.

Buzz I believe the results include Jota and but not Starfelt.

Celtic recorded £14.8m profit from player sales. The Key word is profit. I believe based upon the sales of Jura and Giako Celtic are booking £10m profit from Jota.

If Celtic bought Jota for £6.5m on a 5 year contract then after 12 months sell him for 25m when we process the sale to get our profit we first remove the 80% of the purchase fee we paid as we would have amortised 20% against our PnL in the first year. We then remove our sell on to Benfica, agents fees loyalty bonus and percentage of th me fee to player and that is the profit taken to book.

At an educated guess
Jota £25m
Remaining fee to amortise £5.2m
Sell on et £10m
Profit on sale £9.8m

Also our trade receivable rose from £30m to £45m this is where transfers owed would sit so I doubt the full fee was received upfront.

As a business we had revenue of £119m, we sold players for £40m on top of that although we only register the profit (14m) on this because of our accounting principles. We then booked another £14m from Ange and C.V. insurance payouts. So arguably we're almost at £175m.

We always amortise buying players across the contracts our current amortisation stands at £12m. A quick calculation accross the current squad and this should stay the same we seem to be really strict with this figure. As it always fluctuates between £12-14m. If anyone's is interested I can do a wee post on amortisation and buying players.

It will be interesting to see our wage bill as the full report not released in 2022 we spent £58m on wages but this includes All employees but not directors. £7m of this will be Employers NI giving a net wage bill of £51m. I would assume £35-40m of this would be first team players with our high proportion of part time staff that's an average of £22,500 - £25,000 per player based on a 30 squad.

I read that the Jota transfer wasn’t included in the figures.
I also noticed that Jota was sold on July 3rd.

2.) 19 Sep 2023 11:35:45
Think the profit could be getting used for barrowfield.

3.) 19 Sep 2023 15:01:36
Nice money to have in the bank. Must be only cub in the world that does this. Pathetic we are shopping in Korean 2nd division and have 10s of millions to play with. Celtic plc have a bowling club aspirations.

4.) 19 Sep 2023 17:06:59
Auf

Agreed 100%.

5.) 19 Sep 2023 18:26:01
Auf, how does a club finance stadium upgrades, major rebuild of training facilities. Improving area around stadium, if it spends all its income on player acquisitions and wages.

6.) 19 Sep 2023 19:07:08
Only time will tell whether Kwon will be a player for us. The league we sign a player from doesn’t matter and neither does the cost. What matters is that we bring in players who add value to the team. Judging a transfer on either is just ego.

KT was 33/ 1 with skybet the other day. I know cause I was going to stick £20 on it just cause someone told me he was mega homesick. He is now 5/ 2 will have taken a bit to move that as most bookies cap that market just due to the sheer ability to get a tip off. I’ve had a few in the past and made a few quid. But it may be one worth watching. No idea how it would be affordable.

The biggest problem with a pressing game is when one or two don’t press you either press as a unit or don’t play the press.

In his entire career he has played 2 Europa League qualifying games conceding 3 goals in them and that qualifies him to be the No1 for our Champions League campaign.

JH ain’t the perfect goalie but he’s added something not just on the field but off it too to our club and deserves the position of Number 1. Until someone can come and take it from him.

To say Siegrist should be number 1 after playing at Celtic for 1 season and making 2 league cup appearances and being injured for 3-4 months is just ludicrous. He may be a great Celtic goalie but as it stands he hasn’t shown or been able to show he is.

“Sigh”.

Tam is a Celtic fan. But remember he did play for Hibs for a long time. And has a lot of “fans” there

Let’s be objective though the starfelt pull is a stonewall penalty. We would all be raging if big oh got 2 yellow cards for that. However the Celtic penalty isn’t soft. It’s a stonewaller as much as starfelts pull. He doesn’t even look at the ball.
