Anyone know much about Osaze Urhoghide? In terms of type of player and sort of signing he will be?

I saw we've apparently done a deal for this lad from Sheffield Wednesday? 200K Cross border fee and he's a defender (CB/ RB) .

It's very early doors but I really hope players like this (and the bhoy Shaw are bonus buys) as we should be concentrating on bringing in proven first team players.

Def the type of signing that should be happening may or may not be 1st team ready but we should be bringing players in that we can coach and progress to 1st team that’s one of the biggest things lacking behind the scenes lots of projects with no real intent.

I know nothing of the new signings from Sheffield Wednesday, but both are young, so I hope they do well. We'll see in time how that pans out.

However, I'm a bit disturbed by what I read regarding Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide. With Shaw, I read that he arrived at Celtic earlier this month after signing a pre-contract in March. For Urhoghide I read that Postecoglou said, "He's someone the club's been tracking for a while", although he did say he had a meeting with him when he came in.

I'm disturbed because in March, Lennon was gone, so who was responsible for the "signing" and the "tracking"?

It's probably pretty normal for this to occur in the modern era, as life goes on, but I'd want my new head coach to be involved in any transfer business. In short, to decided who does/ doesn't come in. After all, it's their team, their responsibility.

What’s the issue we’ve got a manger by all accounts is a great coach if his strength is improving players and getting them playing his way then the players background is irrelevant if good enough he will play if not he won’t.

Why are you disturbed, just because ange was not in the door doesn't mean we stand still as a club, we still have technical guys at the club who have to find players, life goes on.

I'd imagine most signings at a club are not the managers picks. That's why we have a scouting network. Yes the manage will have his own ideas but he can't be everywhere watching players and managing a team. Every transfer is a gamble. Some come good some disappear without being heard of.
