It's NOT the greatest TV deal BUT

Just reading that the new Sly deal could be in danger because of Sevco (who have a grudge against SPFL) and Livingstone (who are currying favour down Govan way)

Most fans are not happy with this deal, but sadly, it is the ONLY deal on offer and every Scottish club will be badly impacted if this deal collapses.

Livingstone have a lot to answer for and I hope all the other SPFL clubs tell Livingstone where to go.

There’s no rush to sign this deal because it’s only coming up to half way through the current deal.
Scottish Football is progressing nicely and Sly want another cheap deal.
Scottish clubs are guaranteed Champions League group stage football and at least Conference League group stage football for the next few years.
I think Scottish football is currently the healthiest and possibly the wealthiest ( out with the current TV deal ) it’s been in the last 15 years.
We shouldn’t be selling our Tv deals on the cheap.
Hopefully another broadcaster will come in and challenge Sly to a bidding war.

Buzz I agree to a point but unless BT or someone else shows interest it could cost all our clubs big money.

Hope BT does come back in, at least they don’t treat us with contempt!

I can’t see how Sky or any other broadcaster can go any lower.
I’ve mentioned on here before that the Scotland are currently 8th in the UEFA Coefficient table.
All the countries in the top 7 places probably rightly get more TV money than Scottish football.
But how can countries lower than Scotland, command mega higher TV cash.
Belgium get £83 Million per year.
Turkey get £103 Million per year
Even Norway get £64 Million per year
There’s no way Sky or any other broadcaster can offer Scotland ( 8th in Coefficient table ) any less than a miserable £30 Million per year.

Part of the deal is Sky want to show more Live Scottish league matches.
The current deal is 48 league games but yet Sky CHOSE to only show 41 Live Scottish League games, in both of the last 2 seasons.
The deal should be, that Sky have to guarantee that the full amount of games in the deal are shown.
Scottish football needs better guidance, with people that know what Scottish football needs and wants.
Doncaster should’ve been ran out of Scottish football 10 years ago because he was hopeless with the SFA and he’s still hopeless with the SPFL.

Sly announced games up to world cup. They are not showing Motherwell away game so that is 2 away games out of 8 Celtic away games they are not showing. Count in 6 away games they never showed last season it should be Celtic not wanting TV deal . How can sly say they want to show 60 games when they have not shown the 48 games they could have the last 2 seasons.

Exactly, half pint. ?
I didn’t notice that the Motherwell away, midweek league match will also not be shown Live by Sky.
Like you mentioned, add it to the long list.

They didn't show the rc game either and last season snubbed us on more than one occasion.

Buzz, I read somewhere that although our TV deal was much lower than some leagues, our price per game was actually very good because these other leagues are selling 100% of their games. If this is true, the problem we have is that outwith the biggest games there is very little interest in our league.

That’s maybe true Kevbhoy.
But most leagues including Belgium, Turkey and Norway I’ve mentioned above, only have a couple of big clubs in their leagues.
I know I wouldn’t watch mediocre clubs play each other from these leagues.
It’s the same in most leagues but these leagues still manage to secure deals, that are triple the amount on offer to Scottish football.
I don’t see how Doncaster and Co. can allow Sky to have a current deal of 48 league matches but agree to a deal which still allows them to only show 41 Live matches for the last 2 seasons.
It’s incompetence from the men running our league and at the same time, another Celtic away match at Motherwell won’t be shown Live by Sky.
Either end of our midweek match at Motherwell, the Ibrox club will have both their weekend away matches shown live by Sky at St. Johnstone and St. Mirren.

Would think the money from arc deals is about population size/ viewing audience. No coincidence that the countries with the most automatic places in CL have the highest population.

That's right kevboy go on to wiki it breaks it all down I tried to up load a link but didn't get posted for whatever reason.

I'd love to see someone like DAZN come in. a global streaming network would suit our worldwide fanbase. Its a bit like Netflix for sport with a monthly subscription no where near as high sly or bt.
