It's probably just me because it's been that long since I've seen Celtic play a supposed
4-4-2 formation.
But
I was a little confused about our formation today.
I don't think it looked like a classic Kyogo and Idah partnership up from.

I'm sure our players followed instructions from Brendan about our formation.
But,
I still wasn't convinced that was a basic 4-4-2.

Did anyone feel the same?
It's not a criticism because we played well.

I never got the impression it was a 442. Rodgers is still favouring the 4231.

But just think with the big fellow up top it gives the defence another problem and with Kyogo buzzing about just in behind they don't know where he's going to pop up.

My 1 gripe is wingers playing and having to check back onto there stronger foot I don't get it. Defenders know Palma isn't going to go by them on the outside so are happy to push him down the line.

I’ve mentioned the same GT but then Maeda smacks one out the park with his natural foot under no pressure ?‍♂️.

Kyogo goal came from Palma actually going on to beat a man then cutting it inside which a think confused the defender, so your right to a certain extent GT the wingers don’t do it often enough and when they do it produced a goal.

Yip both points very valid.

I've just got this picture on my head of old fashion wingers beating their man on the outside and hitting the bye line. They seem to favour cutting inside and hitting a shot. Which I get.

I like is when we create a situation when we can play the ball in behind opponents full back like yesterday . I don’t see the need to take on the fullback dribbling ball and risk losing ball or picking up bad injury. The time was a good quick footed winger could get player booked when taking them on, but in Scotland our elite referees book accordingl to the colour of the top and not by dangerous and reckless football .
We should be able to play the type of ball that Mc Gregor sent Palma away oftener, as it led to a beautiful goal, Kyogo getting his shot away without taking a touch.
