I don't know man. You try to have a beer for your birthday and someone steals your thunder. May she rest in peace even if its not my bag. Still someone's maw at the end of the day.

Happy Birthday Gerry.
It’s my Mum and Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow.
But they are currently in Australia and it was technically the 9th September there, when the news broke.

Happy birthdays and anniversaries to all and also RIP Elizabeth II she sure had some inings. Without wanting to steal your thunder Buźz as our resident statistician, I heard today that she livrd through:
15 Prime Ministers
14 U. S Presidents
7 Popes
And
2 RANGERS.

{Ed007's Note - It's a shame for all of her family, and wee Ginger Harry Hewitt must be a bit gutted too.}

United Ireland,
I presume you are talking about British atrocities and not Putin's invasion of Ukraine. My post above was not meant to be political but an attempt at humour saying she had lived through 2 Rangers.
I am a republican and not just irish I would be a republican no matrer where i lived so I don't give a sh*t about the British royal family or any royal family for that matter.
I don't think the queen can be blamed for any of the atrocities you speak of as the monarchy in england has had no power since the end of 17th century.
With regards to atrocities in Ireland i can see where you are coming from as i have witnessed first handas i am over 60. The atrocities before 1960 or in other parts of world I know of as a result of history books. It is true that milkions if Irish have died as a result of British occupation, directly through violence and indirectly through famine etc and yet i believe the bigģest atrocity at present is a country which legally kills its own citizens through abortion and in a few years Ireland will surpass the death toll reached by the Brits over centuries.

Hi there, I agree with MMcG, '— “I am so confident in my Irishness that I have no desire to chip away at the Britishness of my neighbours. ” if people are grieving then God bless them. Though I take the point about no power of the monarchy, but it should be added, they take the medals and roles of heads of regiments and units, so they do have a role, or leverage and a say, and could have done something to change a policy or plan.
