Just read an article on a Celtic blog about Jim Farry.

I was aware of much of what was said. However, I was not aware of the referee appointment in 1986.

For anyone who does not know, in 1986 Hearts and Celtic were playing for the league on the last day of the season.

Hearts played Dundee and we player St Mirren. Hearts only need 1 point to win the league and we needed Hearts to lose and us to win (don't recall the goal difference) .

Anyway, prior to Jim Farry's intervention, a referee had been appointed to the Dundee v Hearts match. However, as the game got closer and it became evident that Celtic had an outside chance of winning the league. Jim Farry changed the referee for the Dundee v Hearts match. The new referee would be Crombie a well known Hearts fan.

Another piece of evidence of anti-Celtic corruption within the governing bodies in Scotland.

Maybe some younger readers do not know about Jim Farry. Farry was the person that deliberately withheld the registration of Jorge Cadete, so he could not play against Rangers. Fergus McCann was furious about it and took the matter to court. The court case found that Jim Farry had deliberately witheld the registration and he was later sacked as the SFA secretary.

I have often wonderer what Fergus McCann would have done when Rangers use of EBTs came out and how the SFA had knowledge of the dodgy player registrations but did not act. Or how the SFA gave Rangers a license to play in Europe despite the fact they should not have been allowed because of their outstanding tax liability barred them from playing.

My guess is he would have went to town with the SFA. Sadly we will never found out and we are stuck with the current board who are just going to sit like good little boys will they get cheated.

Farry was a cheat and Fergus nailed his arse in court. I remember the day, having a "quick pint" with my brother to celebrate, which turned into me going into work the next day feeling I had been run over by several buses. All double deckers. Worth it though.

LAW
I knew about the referee being changed at the last minute in 1986.
We had to also overcome a 4 goal deficit on top of a victory for Celtic and a defeat for Hearts.
That was 35 years ago and Scottish football is still corrupt.
Wee Fergus would have a field day with the information about the EBT’s from 20 years ago.
Also with the Res.12 fiasco.
The Celtic board have had information on both scandals, for the last 10 years and have shamefully done nothing.

It was a strange season for Hearts in 1985/ 86 season.
Luckily Hearts had a terrible start to the season.
They only won 2 out of their first 9 league games and they also got put out of the League cup.
Their season changed with a victory at Celtic Park in October 1985.
Hearts went unbeaten from September Weekend until the last game of the season.
They went into the last game of the season at Dundee only needing a point and yet they were unbeaten in 31 league and Scottish Cup matches.
We all know what happened next.
Hearts lost the league to Celtic and then lost to Aberdeen 3-0 in the 1986 Scottish Cup Final.

Seem to remember all the radios at Love St. The lows and then the euphoric highs when we found out it was Albert Kidd and not Walter who scored . 😂😂😂.
