Reading Adam Mathews sayin the same old garbage that players who move to England feel they need to say! The scottish league isn't that great and that's why he's not startin for wales! Utter Pish! I like Matthews and he done a job for us,but don't talk shite son! U were getting a game for Wales when u were a regular starter for us! Just like Ledley hartson and Bellamy were in the scottish league! The reason why u lost your Wales place was a combination of losin your place to a better player in lustig and injury! Does my box in when these players have to put the boot into our league as soon as they hit England! So many examples of it! And not just players but managers to! All the celtic fans have wished the boy well and hope he does well! But don't spout shite just to give the English media what they want to hear! What will be his exuse if he doesn't get in the Sunderland team??

I admit its never nice to hear but come on what else can be said about the standard of the league? It isn't great. Apart from us who would stay up in the epl? Tv money aside which makes the farce possible, just our 1st 11s from the spl v the first 11s of the epl then there is no doubt in my mind that many of the spl clubs wouldn't do well. As for international places, sad as it may seem he will just have to be fairly regular in the Sunderland side to be guaranteed a place in the Wales set up but up here he would have to be both a regular and playing well to be in his national side due to the low opinion of our league. I wouldn't read too much into the comments the story practical wrote itself the moment he moved.

That's the problem but mate! These stories practically write themselves every time a player moves from scotland to down there! Of course the league up here isn't great! A blind man could see that! And yes it frustrates me that we're stuck in it! But it's far to easy to say the leagues crap and that's why he's not getting in the Wales team! When the facts are, lustig is a far better player and if fit would be keepin him out the team! And the fact that he was injured more often than not this past year or so! Just pisses me off when every player or manager who lands down there feels they have to put the boot into our game! Sorry but he's went down in my book with these comments!

Im just glad we got a bit of cash instead of running down his contract. he has rolled the dice. Few injuries or another Sunderland signing and he could well end up 3rd choice down there. He might not realise just how patient and loyal we have been to him considering his injury record.

I wish players would just tell the truth and admit that it's the money they're moving for.
I'm not saying that's wrong, most of us would probably do the same, but I wouldn't mind betting that if Celtic could pay him more than he's earning at Sunderland, he would stay here and playing for Wales wouldn't come in to it.
It's the same story with Van Dijk, he has got into the Dutch squad while playing for Celtic, but when he gets his move to England, he'll be telling everybody that he needed to move because playing in Scotland damages his chances of playing for Holland, not the real reason that he will be making plenty of money.
