Great effort from the lads last night. Fantastic performance considering we were down to ten men. I think Virgil's sending off was harsh, especially the first one, the second he was a bit naive to get caught in that position even though there wasn't much wrong with his challenge. Armstrong penalty? Not for me. I think it would have been soft but on the other hand would it have been given at the other end? Who knows. The guy who nearly took Stefan's head off his shoulders should have walked also. In terms of the goal, what can you do except admire it. You just don't save a strike like that. Proud of the boys and hopefully over the next few years we'll use this season's valuable experience and do something special in Europe.

I said exactly the same and got pelterz for it about a month ago. I honestly don't think we need a striker though. Scepovic looks a good player and definitely knows were the goal is as his record shows. I'm not even all that sure about desperately needing cbs anymore. Charlie can go back were he obviously belongs. What we need is to get players in that want to stay. There must be some decent British cbs out there that would stay a few seasons. Will be interesting to see what Ronny does in the summer.

I'm not sure if that's true about Scepovic. He wasn't even on the bench last night so he can't be doing enough in training.

Would anyone take Hooper back? I used to be of the opinion that he chose to leave because grass was greener etc, etc but at least he could score goals. Hypothetical I know. I don't know if he'd even want to come back or if we could afford him

Kevbhoy If you assume the referee was trying to be fair and impartial, then I don't think you could say Amstrong didn't deserve a penalty . When you consider the amount of contract involved in the two Virgil incidents which in the referees eyes warranted not only two frees but two yellow cards then it would reasonable to consider the contact on Armstrong to be a penalty .
A referee cannot turn a blind eye to a bit of contact one minute and later on punish the other team to the limit for the same .
