Rumours that Gary Mackay-Steven's agent is in talks with Celtic. Don't think he's ever realised his full potential at Dundee Utd. Hasn't had a great spell of consistency due to injuries here and there. Having said that, a move to Celtic could benefit his career. Thoughts?

I would love this to be true . A class act young pacey hungry great feet would be a star for us but . can't see it

I think possibly going to Celtic, with our new manager and the other attacking coaches, would be a good move for GMS and I think Celtic will bring the best out if him if the move materialises. A pacey exciting left footed winger is always welcome at Celtic.

Think PedroCelt has hit the nail on the head there. Sometimes looking abroad isn't always the best option e.g. Boerrigter when we have the likes of GMS playing in our league. And Lexlau, Ronny Deila says he's prepared to give them all a chance at the start of the season, but I think we might start to see a few changes both in and out if we make it over the first hurdle of Champions League qualifiers.

I'm not overly convinced about gms yes he has skill in abundance but he's posted missing more times than he's seen, not sur his age but he is quite young so mayb he has enuf time to improve . would he get that time?hail hail

Cha67 - He'll turn 24 this August. Agree that he has been far too inconsistent at Dundee Utd, but has shown flashes of brilliance. With the better facilities, coaching etc. that Celtic can offer, it could be a good move for us and for him. Time will tell if this goes through, but it could be shrewd business on Celtic's part.

I would possibly wait until Dec and agree a Bosman deal with him, but I certainly wouldn't pay a fee for him now, I know that sounds a bit ruthless, and I would prefer to see money go to other Scottish clubs, I just don't really rate him that highly, there is just something about him, he seems to lack substance. I think the lad Robertson could become a good left back, but he also needs work, but I would prefer him to GMS. We need cover at left back more than a left winger, Izzy simply can't defend, as he's shown at the World Cup. I just think we have too many players that are at the level of GMS - we need players a level up. But I would maybe risk him on a bosman if we can get rid of some of the average squad players we have already.

24S not bad mayb change in coaching could help his obvious potential and I'd rather us find out for cheap than some English club .DRB nice point I never knew Sammy was here for 7year,,,,, 7games maybe hail hail. (b4 I get the mince about slagging ex players I loved/hated Sammy

I don't think GMS will make much of a difference at Celtic . The step-up from a small provincial club may be too much for him . GMS has been very inconsistent in games against Celtic, he also misses a lot of games through injury .
