Not getting carried away but like the look of Big Ange. Looks like a straight talker who will grab us by the scruff of the neck and drag us into the 21st century. Like the fact we are looking at the croatian cb we shd be scouting here and Scandinavia. Also hearing we are looking at a cm from torino sasa lukic. 6ft serbian International, he's 24 and possibly up for grabs for about 5m. Anyone else hearing anything about this?

unless howe has signed and they are delaying the announcement for some reason, he is playing us. We are Celtic, we shouldn't be played by anyone. walk away from this! ralf rangnick. break the bank. please. lucien farvre is likeable because he is foreign and managed reasonable clubs. should have done better at dortmund but that's my personal opinion. we want someone to change the infrastructure that man is ralf. what I can see happening is maresca because we have identified harkin as the best candidate for dof. the way this is dragging out ain't gd. makes us look like we don't have a clue. the board have had since January to sort this and we are still in limbo. not good folks.

It’s not football manager, there is lots off things and complications from both sides, it all takes time and effort.

2.) 10 Apr 2021 13:25:41
It always takes time for us to do anything. My question is why? To me he isn't convinced of he would be here. He's working us to get a better offer from a real league. Go on prove me wrong Eddy.

If he hasn't proved me wrong by early next week it moves to, this is going to end up another humiliation given wall to wall by the Sevco press. Give him a deadline then move on. It's getting embarrassing.

3.) 10 Apr 2021 15:36:07
Magicpole who's to say we already haven't moved onto the next potential manager? If Howe has shown any sort of sign that he might not be 100% for the cause i can see the board and DD assuming he might go elsewhere therfore move onto the next target, also who's to say Eddie Howe is top target? Only the papers and online click bait sites have mentioned it, oh yeah an let's not forget the betting market who have no doubt made a pretty buck off the fans but saying he is now favourite etc lol i personally think movement will happen once the new CEO comes in as he will be the one working closely with the footballing side of things to ensure the right staff are hired for whatever structure there will be in place for next season after all he will be the one the rumoured DOF (if that's our way forward) will have to have a good relationship with to move the club forward and he will want to be a part of that process i can imagine. This is something that can't be rushed IMO, does any fan believe they can afford to get this wrong? I for one don't think we can afford to get this wrong, not with what's up for grabs for the league champions next season. Patience is key and good things will come to those who wait, we get this right we could blow the league out the water and dominate.

if Palace come in at the last minute and offer howe more money he will not come. he didn't last at Burnley and if his family ain't coming to Glasgow, no matter how much he fancies the gig he doesn't seem to be the type of person who would risk his family life for personal job satisfaction. if he does come to us then he won't be here long as the pressure of flying back and forth to Bournemouth during a C.V. will take its toll and he will be away within a year. that's just my take on it.

1.) 03 Apr 2021 23:44:32
But if reports of Howe accepting in principle are right i hope he's a man of his word then.

2.) 04 Apr 2021 00:31:14
Wee Strachan saying the Howe deal could fall through and we shouldn't put all our eggs. he knows something. I wouldn't be surprised if Lawell asked him. to put that out there and soften the blow. Although it wouldn't. I got a Mo Johnstone vibe about this. Let's hope it's nothing, but I find it too much if a coincidence thst we hear Palace are in and he comes out with that today? Definitely didn't want to hear that.

3.) 04 Apr 2021 02:25:23
Ive got a bad feeling about this Howe deal u would think if the deal you would think that if it was good and all happy it would be announced will need to wait and see would not surprise me if there is something in news over next couple of days to put a dampener on this deal.

4.) 04 Apr 2021 06:49:59
If it's true Howe's family aren't coming to live up here. I wouldn't offer him job.

5.) 04 Apr 2021 12:22:29
If there is an announcement it can’t happen till Tuesday at the earliest as we need announce it to stock exchange first.

{Ed007's Note - So how did Neil Lennon get the job on a Saturday evening in the Hampden showers?}

6.) 04 Apr 2021 13:53:10
There's something not right about the situation. I think we are about to have the rug pulled. Strachan knows something.

7.) 04 Apr 2021 14:51:07
Howe 1/ 3 with Skybet to become manager I would have expected much shorter odds if it was a done deal. There’s no doubt he’s a highly rated coach but his transfer record is very poor with only 2 players he purchased in 5 seasons at Bournemouth leaving at a profit.
I expect us to sell Edouard and Ajer at least and that bringing in £30m approx with Christie or Mcgregor potentially leaving giving us another £10-20m we need to make sure we don’t squander the cash we bring in as we will need 2 CBS, GK, striker and CM for starters.

8.) 04 Apr 2021 17:57:02
That's the spirit, garryowen. Love your enthusiasm!

9.) 04 Apr 2021 19:11:58
Whoever told you that only two players have left for a profit is talking crap.

Eddie Howe, actually has a good track record of developing players and improving them.

Granted the transfers made at Bournemouth have been hit and miss but they have a system were they really study the lower leagues and look at all the player metrics to try and identify targets (Moneyball style) and have had decent success when they have followed that model.

I have some reservations about Howe but this is not one of them, plus it will be a DOF that will be overseeing that side of things.

Has anyone else heard that Lennon is gone tomorrow? Please make it be true.

It is all going to come out in the wash. Board didn't want to pay Lennon off as he would also have been due a bonus if someone else had taken over and won league. Biscuit tin mentality all over again. They thought he would walk. Lennon has put money before the club.

He should have walked but didn't want to give up the money. Both parties have cost us the ten. Lennon as a manager is a shambles, living in the dark ages. Fitness and tactics non existent. Rogic not a rm. Brown is too busy trying to be a tough guy or stand on the ball and show he is a player, offers no movement forward at all.

Christie can't play with his back to goal, he needs to be in cm running up and down, closing down and driving forward with the ball. Playing one up front essentially is a joke when most teams sit in against us. Trying to play through the middle hasn't worked all season. Believing your fullbacks can also be wingers hasn't worked either. Early on in the season it was crying out for 442.

Moi could gave played rm (hes right footed, hit the byline and get it across) 2 strikers in the box we might have had a chance. He could have signed a winger in January to play on the left. Playing the same system over and over again with players out of position is just mind boggling and what's worse is hearing the manager saying they played well. He is full of it.

Lennon is perfectly entitled to the amount agreed in his contract and would be a fool to walk away without the correct remuneration being paid.

Ask yourself this question. If your current employer decided they no longer required your services and you were entitled to a large pay off, would you just leave without getting it?

2.) 22 Feb 2021 09:12:57
Lennon publicly stated he would walk away if it wasn't working. He is choosing money over the club he apparently loves. He is perfectly entitled to do so but to think that decision won't tarnish his legacy is naive.

I hope Dom McKay and family are ok. Sad to see him leave, he seemed to be doing a gd job. He also seemed to have a gd relationship with Ange, let's hope it doesn't affect the big man too much. let's stick together bhoys and ghirls ??.

1.) 11 Sep 2021 09:13:41
Good luck to the boy, he's one of us, but we need to stop the daft conspiracy theories celtic goes on, anybody know what tbe new guy is about had never heard of him.

2.) 11 Sep 2021 09:20:02
We don't know what's happened and I hope he and his family are healthy. on the other hand I don't understand why People would be surprised if there was a fall out or a lack of working relationships it certainly wouldn't suprise me in the slightest.

3.) 11 Sep 2021 11:27:20
If what is being reported regarding Dominic resigning, well done Celtic for killing the feel good factor after last season’s nightmare . Only Celtic can do this, I only hope it doesn’t affect the players and manager.

Is there any chance of Lovric? We were bringing in jota before christie was going, I thought this might have been back up for christie as a lw. If that was the case surely if we let christie go then we are still looking for another winger? Or am I just being hopeful? I think we need 4 wingers. forrest, abada, jota and another as johnstone and dembele not proven. I don't want to class kyogo as a winger as for me we must play him through the middle with the new greek striker as backup. we also need a cm. id take mccann but would prefer a big unit who can pass and get about the park. not asking for much 🤣🤣.

Can't believe Lennon today. is he trying to derail the ange train? this is the man who talked up ntcham, who by all accounts was a bad apple. you look at ralston in interviews he says the boss tells me what to do. that's called coaching. lennon sent them out saying play your game u will win, no direction, no attention to detail in training Monday to Friday. also took agents, scouts words on players without doing due diligence as he was too busy up Ashton Lane. lazy manager. big ange, does the homework, does the detail on the training ground and we are reaping the rewards. I was doubtful of big ange but how ignorant was I. he has us playing better than rodgers did and his eye for a player seems impeccable. long may it continue. hail hail 🍀.

Much better last night attacking wise. Defence still a shambles. Bitton should never play cb for us again. Was having a little look at the Argentinian rb bustos. I know its youtube but out of all the rb's we have been linked with he looks the best. Really good going forward and can put in a decent cross. Seems comfortable coming inside with the ball which should suit ange's system. He is always looking to give and go which again would suit our style of play as he is constantly looking to move into better positions and support the forward play. Defensively he seems OK, seems to like a slide tackle but he looks as if he makes the tackle and gets back on his feet quickly, often driving forward with the ball. Excited about this one.

1.) 06 Aug 2021 12:07:53
Only concern is he's never played outside Argentina.

2.) 06 Aug 2021 12:08:24
I really miss wee Frimpong!

3.) 06 Aug 2021 13:16:42
I’d take Fray Bentos at right back the now.

4.) 06 Aug 2021 14:55:11
Frimpong was horrendous. Couldn't defend and his final ball was shocking. Was stunned by how much we got for him.

5.) 06 Aug 2021 20:51:20
Am the same DC couldn't beive we got 11mill for him lol.

Surely we can pay the 1m for hart (not my ideal candidate but experienced enough and a decent enough keeper to do us a turn until we can sign a quality replacement next year) 3.5m for buta, 3.5m for lovric and the 2m loan fee with option for itakura. that's 10m. that would add a lot of quality to squad. sell eddie and use the money to buy a few more. get these 4 in pronto (obvs not itakura) that would be a total of roughy 20m if you included starfelt abada and kyogo. Even with the sell on to psg, we shld be able to cover all these signings with the ajer and Eddie money. Say we were to spend 10m more on a cf and dm then that is a reasonable and acceptable window? As a support I think we would be happy with that and would agree we are moving in the right direction. Can the board not see our demands are not unrealistic? If we also get rid of ntcham (I'd take 1m just to get rid, and boli 1m, reducing wage bill then I would be happy with that. I think we all wld.

There is a C.V., there is no champions League money, there might not be any Europa League money, there won't be any spending like that, we won't be spending excessively, hopefully the spending this time will be wiser than in the past.

new to site. thinking about next manager there is no real candidate that makes me think yes go get him. if we go for a European manager then it's a risk, as they might not adapt to scottish football. don't fancy moyes (poor record since leaving Everton) , Clarke ( good job at killie but can he change tactics to become attacking manager that celtic are looking for? ) Lennon ( stabilised the club since the person left but performances suggest he's not the answer) or Benitez ( done ok at Newcastle but not sure he fancies it or would be fully committed to our club and may always be looking to leave. ) I think we should maybe go for Chris Houghton from Brighton. he's done a good job with them. he changes there style regularly which suggests he is tactically aware. he maybe have taken Brighton as far as he can and I don't think he will be on an enormous wage. has experience of being at a big club ( spurs, newcastle) would have good contacts and is knowledgeable on British football. what are you thoughts?
