Weah confirmed but only till the end of the season.

1.) 07 Jan 2019 20:16:17
Hate loan signings especially this short but if it wins us the league fair enough.

2.) 07 Jan 2019 20:25:32
A lot of rumours there will be an option for another year if it all goes well.

3.) 07 Jan 2019 20:21:10
If it’s only to the end of the season I’m really not overly pleased, an 18 month deal would have been a lot better. It seems like we want to improve the forward areas but don’t want to pay to do it. We signed two players now who we lose and will probably have to replace in the summer, and get it sorted hopefully before the champions league qualifiers . It all seems a bit short sighted . Hopefully we may be using the bulk of the budget on defenders as we have the same problem there in the summer.

4.) 07 Jan 2019 20:58:07
It isn't ideal but if the rumors are true on this lads potential ability I'd rather have than have not.

Get in bayo and Rodgers has 2 players for every forward position n that should turn those rubbish away draws to wins.

Im coming round to BRs thinking, young hungry players for the run in.

5.) 07 Jan 2019 21:13:48
We have Arzani due back also only so may wingers/ forwards you can have?

6.) 07 Jan 2019 22:30:31
Just a Twitter rumour, maybe just that, Daniel Sturridge to Celtic, loan or permanent unknown, allegedly from a footballers agent.

7.) 07 Jan 2019 23:18:17
No chance Sturridge will come up hear I would eat my hat if that deal would happen.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m not sure you want Sturridge mate. Be careful what you wish for.

8.) 08 Jan 2019 07:26:05
Sturridge? Did you watch him last night for someone who should’ve been busting a gut considering the competition he has was as disinterested a player I’ve ever seen.
As for Weah as much as I don’t like loans 6 month with (if there is one) 18 month extension probably makes sense considering the musonda fiasco.

9.) 08 Jan 2019 08:39:42
Im not concerned that the deals are only six months, and if the rumours of a chance to extend are true then that is all the better. if you look at the Mosunda loan, we took him for 18 months and it didn't work, we could have been stuck with him. 6 months will see if he can adapt to the scottish game and then look at extending.

looks like john park has gotten his jotters.

1.) 14 Oct 2016 16:14:42
DN30 have you sacked him?

2.) 14 Oct 2016 16:23:54
How do you mean I've not seen anything yet big d.

3.) 14 Oct 2016 16:36:00
Apparently he has left to look for a new challange lol about time this happened tbh. But now we are looking for someone to fill his roll, whatever this maybe.

27 Apr 2016 11:47:32
seen nigel pearson being linked with us now don't fancy him as the man to take us forward seems like a bit of a chunt to me.

big.D

1.) 27 Apr 2016 12:23:32
He is a bit paranoid, but all the Leicester players loved him and I was just reading Mahrez say he put down all the foundations, especially defensively. He said he should get as much credit as Ranieri. We were linked with Pearson before we got Mowbray, so someone on the board rates him. I also think if it wasn't for his slightly odd behaviour he'd be doing well, - I think that he was on edge because the fans and journalists were slating him, to be fair though they went on that great run and stayed up, and got them promoted also. I don't think his son helped either with his antics in the Far East, especially with the owners being from there. He's highly rated as a coach though, and been at other big clubs and has experience. I'm just terrified about the alternatives, - that's Malky Mackay in today from 25/ 1 to second favourite at 5/ 2. The board better realise that if they don't get this right there will be mutiny. There are loads of top managers available, also coaches who could work under an experienced director of football, they can't be trusted though, they are backward, plain and simple.

2.) 27 Apr 2016 12:30:46
It's also a disgrace if the board are waiting on Davie Moyes making a decision so he can see if the Everton job comes up again, or even another club. If they want him then he should decide straight away, he's not good enough to be choosy. He might end up out of work for another long period, - if he doesn't get the Villa/ Everton job he might be begging to get something.

3.) 27 Apr 2016 13:11:07
I'd take Pearson before Malky, Lennon, Coyle and some of the other dross we've been linked with.

4.) 27 Apr 2016 17:09:05
They could appoint Mourinho and it still won't be good enough for me if Peter Lawwell is still at club.

5.) 27 Apr 2016 19:55:59
He at least has to clarify what Park actually does. He has one of these vague/ generic titles like director of football operations, - all he seems to do though is scout players. Him and Lawwell are more like bloody football agents, especially when you add that guy called Dudu Dahan. The whole set-up is a disgrace. It also means no-one knows definitively who is doing what and who is to blame for so many mistakes. In any other organisation you would call it a whitewash. Park hasn't done anything to improve the youth dept, that's still average compared to plenty other clubs, so God knows what he does except sit in front of a computer because as far as I know it's other guys that actually go to most of the games (to watch players) especially abroad. The more I think about the whole thing the more angry I get because from top to bottom it's a complete shambles.

7.) 27 Apr 2016 21:15:29
Ranieri has even said himself he was very impressed with the organisation of the team and work ethic they demonstrated when he took over, and didn't look to change anything in those two key departments. I don't know what it is with Pearson though, he just doesn't get my heart racing. Then again maybes that's not what is important. The problem still hasn't left the club though, let's not just let it get swept under the carpet when the masses are appeased by a celtic man being given the job.

8.) 28 Apr 2016 02:56:24
I think myself included having been getting carried away with names for the vacant manager's job . We are talking about Moyes. , Rodgers, Pearson, Keane and a whole lot of other names of managers who could all get a job with the middle of the table EPL teams and Championship teams . With these clubs they could risk £10-£15m on an unknown striker and no one would blind an eye if the striker didn't strike . At Celtic there would be a virtual Inquest if a £1 striker wasn't scoring regular.
That 's why we should be looking at A Stubbs and N Lennon and maybe even Jackie Mac to realistically fill our vacancy.

9.) 28 Apr 2016 05:57:48
There's already been an inquest - JP and PL are guilty.

I think after the last few appointments the club need to pull out the stops and get somebody with a wee bit more pedigree than Stubbs, Lennon or Jackie Mac.

However, the powers that be though have meddled and ran the club into being a difficult one to manage, coupled with some fans ignorant expectations, my head tells me it's really not as desirable job as it used to be.

10.) 28 Apr 2016 06:15:12
I agree with the points made about more transparency too.

Alfred Finnbogason will be a celtic player by the end of the week heerenveen are running at a loss according to their interim chief exec.

1.) There are so many conflicting posts on here I don't know what to believe!
One thing I know for sure is we are a striker, a midfield powerhouse and soon a solid centre back down and we have a must-win game in Sweden tomorrow we need to focus on.
Unfortunately the headlines leading up to the game are all negative re section 111 and not about the class replacements we seriously need to progress and improve.
I hope we win this tie and follow it up with much needed positivity on the transfer front and Celtic in general.

2.) I would love this to happen. I just can't see Celtic spending 5m on one player.

3.) Everton bound

i'm hoping that celtic use the money made from champions league and player sales to get in a quality centre back and even more so a top quality striker with good technique able to make goals on his own and good in the air what's the point in having wingers or attacking full backs whipping crosses into the box for wee guys who are crap in the air i. e stokes and hooper we should speculate to accumulate spend 10 - 15 million on some more quality players instead of some unknown's with potential if we learned anything from the juventus games is I think midfield were ok but up front and at the back we are lacking in quality and with maybe atleast a more clinical striker we may have got more from the games hoopers head is gone for me he doesn't want to be here any more we should have gave stokes the nod atleast he wants to be at celtic

1.) NL is very committed to improving the team and progressing and although we will lose a few in the summer (Wanyama will be a huge loss) the nucleus of the squad will stay. Therefore we must go for that extra bit of quality with the cash available.
Defensive frailties were obvious as you say and the inability to score in 2 full games against Juventus also tells a story, and I would love to see a flair player on the left and a creative maestro in the middle.

JJ

2.) What we need is someone on the park who can take the team by the scruff of the neck and tell them to get their finger out. Someone in the mould of Roy Aitken or indeed our Manager
Tambhoy {Ed007's Note - Scott Brown...I have said it since before the last time he was out with a long term injury how important he is to the team. I think NL sees a lot of himself in Brown and that is why he is club captain. Brown is the heartbeat of the team, when he is out nobody is willing to step up.}

So according to the BBC Oliver Burke is out of contract in the summer 😏.

1.) 14 Nov 2019 19:32:50
so what.

2.) 14 Nov 2019 21:18:37
He'll be at that out of contract school for footballers that I seen on telly.

Jonace it was a tongue in cheek comment to try to start a discussion but seems no one is biting 🤷.

So not far off from getting two champions league spots for the 20-21 season so who will get the extra spot since sevco will have went bust by then?

I have to say that wee Frimpong looks very good for his age and having very little professional experience although I seem to remember something about City having a high sell on clause (30-40%) and possibly first refusal don't know how true that is though. In another note I have been noticing with real annoyance how greedy James Forrest has been lately always trying to do it all himself ignoring team mate's in better positions he needs start making better unselfish decisions I'll admit I've never been his biggest fan but he has been doing well but I'm getting a bit of a Kris Commons vibe from him lately like he's going for personal glory rather than being a team player just my opinion though.

1.) 03 Nov 2019 14:10:49
He set up elyounoussi for his first and a few others although he could have passed to the Norwegian in the 2nd half.

2.) 03 Nov 2019 21:27:04
I was thinking the same about Forrest over the last few games, he is starting to put my in mind of Aiden McGreedy.

25 May 2019 19:26:06
Neil Lennon was never my first second or even third choice for manager but he is the manager now whether we like it or not my only hope is that he gets backed in the transfer window and starts to make changes to the style and formation I think most of the teams in Scotland have figured out how to stop us playing for the most part and now the treble is done hopefully he can change it up a bit and make us less predictable big transfer window coming up.

I see Graham Potter is being linked to the now vacant Brighton job I've said before I would like to get this guy at Celtic doubt it will happen now and it may have been a bit risky whilst going for the 10 but he is the type we should be looking at rather than pie in the sky links to Mourinho and benitez also u would say no to Houghton although I don't think he should have been sacked.

Where are you seeing this? His brief appearance he looked promising but he hasn't had a sniff at game time I would think that unless Lennon has told him that he is in his plans he would go back to City.

Sinclair looked better in the first season because other teams at that point didn't know as much about him and didn't constantly double up on him like they did in seasons 2 and 3 of his time here but still managed impressive amounts of goals and assists.

Celtic should really do something more innovative with streaming games although I don't know what the rules and regulations of the TV deals but why not show the games for free on YouTube and make the money from views or stream on twitch the Celtic t. v. product is poor and a bit on the pricey side they could get more people to subscribe for $5 on twitch meaning more subscribers and ad revenue just a thought I had.
