This Jota to Celtic on a permanent rumours seems to be gathering a lot of pace . I think wee should wait till the end of the season to do it the 7 million could be spent elsewhere and when we get that champions league money we could sign him lol .

The scenario with signing Jota could becone a bit of a Catch22 T1M.
If we don't have the funds to strengthen the positions that require better players in the January window AND sign Jota (I very much doubt we can do both) then we should wait until the summer, as the priority must be improving the first team in order to secure the league title.
If we get to the summer and Jota has X amount of goals and assists then another club could come in and offer more for him.
I'd love us to sign him in January, maybe DD could find 6.5M down the back of his couch ?.
{Ed007's Note - Even if another club bid £10 million for Jota we could still buy him for the agreed fee, it's now up to the player really whether he sees his future at Celtic.}

Remember that we don't give the 6.5 million upfront its paid in installments but if it was me I would start to have talks with him now and then see if he wants to stay.

It completely depends on what Jota himself decides.
If another club cone in for him and offers him silly wages then he can easily knock us back and go elsewhere.
Hopefully we get him, he's a player that gets fans on their feet.

Get him signed up and negotiate the payments. I'm sure if we have to pay 2m upfront in Jan there's still cash to strengthen elsewhere.

It would suit Celtic to get the deal completed this season as they are in to make a big profit remember we never take the full transfer fee to the accounts in that season. We are probably on about 12m of transfer costs this season and jota would take that to about £13.5. But I think we will do that and more as we want that up this season as we have the profit margin to do so. And then we have a few big transfers that fall off at the end of the season to bring it back down.

There isn’t too many Scottish players who are comfortable with both feet like Lewis.
Morgan was lightweight when he played for Celtic and was similar to Mikey Johnston.
Age will improve his physical build and constant playing time has been good for Morgan.
Celtic should send Mikey Johnston out on loan next season and see how he gets on.

Not just emotional TIM, but pride. The style of football is great to watch when the team is at its best and we’ve watched it getting slicker and faster as Ange gets his own men in place.
Additionally, Sunday’s defensive show illustrates that we might, just might, manage to get some results in Europe next season. CV Starfelt and co are becoming more of a unit with every game.
So I second your vote of thanks to Ange . shades of the great days of yesteryear in his work with the team.

As good as the defence was on Sunday, its still no where good enough to get any results in CL group stages. This is NOT because of the quality of the players we have, it's down to the system we play. We need more protection from midfield and forwards to have a chance in CL. A proper holding mid and a change of system will be required. Cal, Hatate and Rogic, if that is our first choice MF will not protect the defence in CL.

Clearly I’m not as tactically nuanced as you Kipper. However from an observational perspective it looks to me as if it’s getting there.
However, I would never want Celtic to turn into Atletico Madrid. I’m sure Ange is well on the way to finding attacking v defending equilibrium, that’s all I was saying.
