Just heard from a family member of James McCarthy that he has signed for Celtic. obv not a clue yet on length of the deal or wages, etc.
A great signing of we can keep him fit eh.
Wee bit of dig we are clearly missing in the engine room.

I hope your right. He is a country mile better than what we have. I think it’s always been in his heart to sign for us, and 30 means he still has a few top flight years in him for us.

I think Celtic were trying to put into a contract with him pay as you play. And that was a dispute with his agent on that.

Having listened to the latest podcast and the stats on McCarthy given by mark I really don’t understand the “he’s always injured” patter.

There is no doubt we absolutely 100% need to bring in a RB for more depth in the squad. but for me the jersey is Ralston's to lose just now. Aye a wee bit of rotation would help with the hectic schedule but it would be detrimental for the bhoy to be dropped immediately once a new Rab is signed.

pleased that Joe Hart is signing. In my opinion though we STILL need another keeper. otherwise we are an injury away from having one of those two bombscares back in goal! I reckon we should go sign Siegrist from Dundee Utd. Really liked what I saw from him last season - definitely better than Barkas and Bain. maybe even offer Bain as part of a deal?
and I know people will say he wouldn't leave a regular starting place to be behind Joe Hart - but he would be moving to a much bigger club, more wages and with Hart's age the boy would definitely get opportunities in my opinion.

Yes, back up GK is an issue as Bain is happy to pick up a wage when he's clearly not good enough to step in if/ when required.

I'd be happier if both Bain and Barkas were gone in this window and we brought in an alternative as back up to big Joe.

I would have Christie and Moi as the 2 behind Ajeti both as CAM while pushing out wide to offer some width. Other than that I'd start Turnbull over Ntcham but that's the formation I've hoped we would deploy seeing as we are short of future strikers.

The only issue was frimpomg as he ain't a right back but of Christie plays as a ACM . then we have no right sided midfielder and then you are back to a 3 again .

The other option is welsh at right back and drop Frimpong.

The first change I would make to our starting 11 would be to drop Brown and play Ajer in the DCM role. Ajer is quick and very good with the ball at his feet and I think he would give us the dig we are clearly seriously lacking in there. its a position he played all through his academy years. we also need to have a look at the coaching and get to the bottom why a large section of our team are, at least in Lennon's opinion "not totally fit". it's constant and a real concern for me. I'd like to hear what you guys think on those points. HH.
