Is this a new story of griff where he’s had a party at his house or an old one to cause him more trouble, surely after getting himself back in shape he wouldn’t hold a house party especially after lennon told them all about their responsibilities as club employees .
It’s all over twitter tonight,
Loads of fans are saying that’s him finished and he doesn’t have a future now .

1.) 08 Aug 2020 06:37:12
Looks like a new one. his daft mrs put up photos then quickly deleted them. I just don’t get people and social media these days. Love sticking themselves in cause they can’t wait to put a photo on insta. I mean he coulda had has party no put any photos up and no one woulda been any the wiser lol. If this is true though I think he’s done with Celtic.

2.) 08 Aug 2020 08:58:22
This is probably why we are looking to bring in two strikers; as he never seems to learn - or just doesn't want to?

3.) 08 Aug 2020 09:16:48
On his day griff is brilliant but there has to come a time when enough us enough. The club and fans stood by him during his depression you would think he would want to repay that trust. If he doesn't want to do that then it has got to be goodbye. If we get ajeti and Fletcher then we are covered anyway. Unless Lenny has already told him he is finished then maybe that's why he had the part as he couldn't careless. Only he knows why.

4.) 08 Aug 2020 09:29:16
Very compassionate " The club and supporters stood by him during his depression "

5.) 08 Aug 2020 10:27:28
Aye, see banter thread where I was ridiculed for my baby shower story

When it's closer to home and not east of the A9 or south of the clyde we switch to . shouldn't have put the photos on INsta .

This season will be crazy bonkers.

Apparently when this party was on he was in his room and the image of him on a mobile bucking bronco was a malleable cardboard cut out and the bottle of beer was fake.

6.) 08 Aug 2020 12:47:12
Simply put

Griff isn't the brightest . gets caught in the moment. like an excitable pup . not his fault that he doesnf have the capability to strive for maturity, discipline and reliability

Its s shame coz when he is in the zone he can be very useful.

7.) 08 Aug 2020 13:19:25
Hes trying the clubs patience on the whole its not too bad si ce he was at his own home but he realky should be comcentrating on his career.

8.) 08 Aug 2020 13:51:15
If its true that it's new Then it's sad a real good player but can't sadly see him coming out of this a Celtic player. I hope it's old pictures.

9.) 08 Aug 2020 15:18:49
Tony. its Griff being Griff. the only issue is that Celtic have moved on to another level in terms of expectation and professionalism and griff hasn't. simples.

10.) 09 Aug 2020 19:31:14
It isn't an old one his girlfriend put pictures on Instagram of friends in the house then deleted some.

Fed up with Griffiths to be honest I honestly think we should just cut ties and get rid of him, all it would have taken is for him to catch the virus off someone that was there then bring it into training, even if nobody did have the virus he still broke distancing rules and the potential was there for it to happen, he's nothing but a liability now and he's shown a total disrespect to everyone associated with celtic, not least his teammates the management and fans who supported him through his troubles.

I wouldn't wish mental health issues on anyone but the club supporting him through it then getting that attitude in return is a joke, send him on his way.

11.) 10 Aug 2020 13:44:50
I seen the vids it was last Saturday night. When he wasn't in squad for game on sunday. No real big deal as wouldn't be allowed with team due to virus. Also he was only seen in the videos at start none of him steaming. No evidence he was drinking. So can't socialise if a football player now even if not involved? I think being unfit is unforgivable for any pro but can still have some sort of life. If was in squad he would have been in hotel and unable to attend. So what people want if no in team you have just to sit in yourself.

There’s more rumours surfacing of arsenal being in for eddy, if true I’d say he would be off when the window opens . Bit gutted, but if we can’t keep kt from arsenal, we have no chance with eddy 🤮.

1.) 19 Apr 2020 10:37:38
Not for £25m he won't be 😂 You see this 16 year old from Birmingham be valued at £35-50m in his first season in the championship we should be demanding similar for Edouard especially when you see the value of some of the rubbish strikers the pub league has brought over the years. Joelington for £40m is one that stands out with 1 goal in 29 league games lol.

2.) 19 Apr 2020 11:29:41
Definitely the 50 million bracket if a 16 year old with 1 season under his belt is quoted at that I don't know where they get these prices from sometimes.

3.) 19 Apr 2020 15:43:46
It's madness mate seems to be the new English thing if someone has a half decent season now it's £50m valuation straight away. Wasn't McGinn being quoted to United for £50m? 😂.

4.) 19 Apr 2020 16:13:42
Yer a season after we wouldn't pay a few extra grand for him haha don't understand how a year after any1 leaves Scotland there value triples or is ten times what they left for its madness we need to be getting a fair wedge for these players coz as the old saying goes if you don't ask you won't get 👍🏻.

5.) 20 Apr 2020 01:34:45
Agree with you there Frank always the way with players up here. Was asked about VVD when Arsenal was interested in him from us and said he's 10 times the player Stones is and he went for £50m! Mates was saying it's only the Scottish league anyone can look good up here. That's just their general outlook on the standard of the league.

09 Apr 2020 09:10:18
Has anyone heard any more news regarding eddys contract situation? There was some stuff said last week that came from Alan Brazil, but I’m not sure how much he would know to be honest .
I can’t imagine lawell letting him enter the last year of his contract, with the cash from the Adidas deal it would be nice to get a bit of positivity, with everything that’s going on at the minute .

1.) 09 Apr 2020 10:20:20
Alan brazil talks utter rubbish.

2.) 09 Apr 2020 12:00:40
French eddy still has two years on his contract but it would be great if a wee years extension on a higher salary could be agreed. I think eddy gets what could be achieved next season? 🍀🏆🏆🏆.

3.) 14 Apr 2020 00:55:38
Alan Brazil! 🤣🤣 aye like he would know anything about eddys contract!

31 Jan 2020 17:53:06
Atsu has turned us down and said he wants to fight for his place .

1.) 31 Jan 2020 18:33:47
Thank goodness for that, lad is rotten!

29 Oct 2019 19:01:16
With eddy being our only fit forward at the minute, should we risk him tomorrow evening? Big game Sunday and the return leg with Lazio coming up, griff will be a mile away from fitness, while Bayo doesn’t fill me with confidence, even when he’s fit .

1.) 29 Oct 2019 20:56:43
Sinclair can do a turn at CF and for me is better that Bayo.

2.) 29 Oct 2019 22:59:28
Yes, and there is that young Irish guy, he is going to be a star, I would just throw him into the first team now, either to play in a two at the front with Odsonne, or to come on in an easier game as a sub for Odsonne.

3.) 30 Oct 2019 06:00:04
He’s injured aindoh afolibi the Irish bhoy.

4.) 30 Oct 2019 11:15:29
Would like to see Sinclair start up front tonight.

5.) 30 Oct 2019 18:35:51
Bitton will maybe get a shot as makeshift striker.

Lennie must have been watching a different game to us last night if he thinks that was a good game. I know they sat in but we looked devoid of ideas, like everyone has said Taylor is so frustrating . The amount of times he gets up to a decent position to turn and pass it back to half way or sideways to brown is unbelievable.
We are going to face these types of sides all season in Scotland, when we face these teams we surely don’t need browny in there, we need a midfielder who can play a pass through a defence or a wingers who can go past a full back. We keep hearing about massive competition in midfield and players won’t play every game, but browny never gets rested . Surely we could give others a chance and bring him on to close out games and change the dynamic of the side . At the minute it’s pretty turgid.

17 Sep 2020 10:54:12
If we include friendlies and European games we must have played 12 games this season. We can all see the players don’t look particularly sharp and we are quite far away from our best form. I appreciate people on here are blaming the manager and certain players but personally I think it’s a lot to do with the lack of atmosphere and fans.
Even watching the games myself I seem to zone out a little where without fans they subconsciously feel like a behind closed doors friendly. I know all teams have to deal with it, but all our games the team has a massive and loud following, where as smaller teams obviously don’t get that type of following.

1.) 17 Sep 2020 11:57:14
Tbf the lack of a pre season might be why things aren't quite clicking at the moment. Unfortunately the discontent that our manager has publicly raised will always play in the back of supporters minds. We were blowing the league away at the end of the last season with what is arguably a weaker squad than we have now yet we still look like we need to go up a gear or two.

2.) 17 Sep 2020 12:05:46
That is definitely a factor and the players must be feeling it too. Possibly when we equalized against Ferenvcaros, for example the encouragement and atmosphere, could well have made a difference?

06 Sep 2020 20:33:38
Max Lowe who was on loan at Aberdeen a couple of seasons ago has just signed for Sheffield Utd . I always thought he looked decent when he was up there, could have been a good option when kt left . Prob would have got him for a lot cheaper than utd have just paid.

1.) 06 Sep 2020 23:11:39
I seen that quinn. i remember being linked at the time and nearly ever fan saying he was nowhere near good enough.

2.) 07 Sep 2020 15:19:53
I mentioned him a few times always looked the part to me.

26 Aug 2020 23:21:48
Lennon has came out and said a few are pushing for a way out of the club. If we were to get rid of them, would the fans want him to be the man that is in charge of rebuilding .
Not for me unfortunately, I don’t blame him for being in the job. He’s a massive Celtic man and was offered it, who wouldn’t accept.
The one I blame is lawell for his amateurish attempts whilst hiring him.
Bandied big names around while never actually interviewed anyone, then appointing him in the shower. What supposed big club performs like that. We have 40 days left in the transfer window, get rid of the ones that don’t want to be here, and get a coach in that can alter games with different solutions.

1.) 26 Aug 2020 23:33:52
Agree. Let's be honest lenny biggest claim to fame is being the man on the opposite side of tonight. He was the rebrov against barca. Who knows how we won but somehow we did! But difference is Tony watt found his level on Motherwell bench. lenny is somehow back at celtic.

2.) 27 Aug 2020 04:35:39
Some Celtic fans say. We are the best fans in the world. I say, only when Celtic are winning. When Celtic loses. The same fans are the worst in the world. Lose one game and they wet their knickers, sack the coach they say. No loyalty at all, Oh, only when they win.

3.) 27 Aug 2020 05:07:07
Who are these players Lennon refers to as not wanting to be there? Come out and name them. I watched that game last night and yes mistakes especially in defence were made but I didn’t get the impression players didn’t want to be there so come out lennon and tell us who they are.

4.) 27 Aug 2020 05:35:35
The issue is with the club. Downsizing over the past few seasons (including the appointment of NL) . We just aren't a Champions league club. When you spend less on signings than you receive you tend to go one way unless you have a world class manager.

5.) 27 Aug 2020 08:53:21
Jim Tim

You are right, we are not a champions league level club. Europa perhaps IF we get in to Groups but that will be tough

When the Players aren't good enough to go toe to toe, some coaches and teams manage somehow to " do am Iceland ' and find a way to make up for the technical deficit. whether it is being more disciplined with a shape or fitter or hungrier or all of the above. you train and train and perfect the means by which to be competitive

I YHINK a lot of players are pampered. They aren't improving. they think they've done all the improving required ( at Celtic) and atlas a consequence we become very average very quickly

We need to rally around AN ODEA and get busy improving ( marginal gains ( but will the group knuckle down or face in the opposite direction?

26 Jul 2020 21:28:22
I watched a show on sky sports earlier, an espn reporter said that if Man Utd qualified for the champions league, Adidas would give them a further 22million, I appreciate we aren’t going to get anything like this but I was wondering if we had a similar clause written into our deal with them.

{Ed007's Note - I'd be surprised if there isn't bonuses for CL qualification and one for probably less for the EL. They won't be near £22 million though lol.}

1.) 27 Jul 2020 06:09:42
It would be nice though ed, it may even tempt lawell to push the boat out a bit 😉😂.

{Ed007's Note - Whoah! Easy there tiger! Let's not get carried away lol.}

2.) 27 Jul 2020 12:34:48
With the frenzy around the new kits and training gear, I reckon we've been absolutely bumped by Adidas tbh.

I know some of you don’t agree with the team but I think they have looked sharper today for the first time this season.
The midfield has played well, ntcham especially .
Ajeti has looked strong and sharper as well .
So far so good.

It looks like a few will be leaving, apart from eddy the rumoured Ajer ntcham and Christie could be replaced . My only point is, do fans still want lennon to be the man to replace them. Personally not for me, there’s a few culpable from last night / Copenhagen aek etc.
Lawell, manager and a few players. I wish Desmond would get involved like before with Rogers and say enough of the cheap option for a coach. To improve we need a coach that can see a player and improve them. Lawell won’t want a big name as he can’t control them like he can lennie / Kennedy . We keep hearing about how good the training is, and intensity of it. Then we get tierney last week saying he couldn’t keep up with arsenal when he went there as the intensity was through the roof. If we are to get close to teams like this we need to be coached and trained similarly or we will keep getting beaten off second rate teams in europe.

I agree with you mark to an extent, we are crying out for at least one defender, but we also need another forward .
That game at the weekend highlighted it, if eddy is being marked closely we have no one else that can help him out. Griff as we all know, prob can’t be trusted . After last season going missing for half of it, to not training properly during lockdown. He will now be pushed further down the squad .

Be good if it were true, he’s certainly not afraid to put himself about . I couldn’t imagine him getting bullied by the likes of dykes and kembemba.

Are we completely skint at the minute, we only seem to be going for loan players, I can see the point with Ajeti but he’s a”try before you buy “ deal. , we have wasted quite a bit on forwards but the short term loan deal only solves a problem short term . If they play well all we do is push their price up, with season tickets sold, Adidas deal, players off the wage bill surely we could afford a centre back . We have only signed one permanent player so far .
Push the button lawell!

Lately when we watch the games, all we hear is the opposition side coaching and cajoling their players.
Camera pans around and lennie is just sitting there, are we just expecting stuff to happen as we have better players .
We can use 5 subs, we need to utilise our squad and try something different.

My issue with Ryan Christie is he’s not as good as he thinks he is. When he scores he then runs around trying worldy passes or shots which rarely come off. When we step up against better players his ball retention isn’t great either, if you could join his effort and work rate with ntcham passing ability we would have a terrific midfielder

I think some of the players ( well most actually) seem to accept when we play on plastic killie: livingston etc that a draw is good enough as it’s a crap surface to play on.
We never look confident that we are going to go out and get a win, I appreciate the pitches are crap and have no place in pro football but it is what it is, they need to shake themselves up when they play on these surfaces.
Also I feel no fans could play into sevco hands as they won’t have the pressure of the fans on at them. I can see them winning every game until we play them.

I agree with Christie’s work rate, he gives everything . He also had a great return of goals last year, my only argument would be is that he never dominates a game against better opposition. Even when we play sevco he rarely stands out if at all .

I think we missed a trick with veltman that Brighton just signed from Ajax . Only went for 900 grand, has played centre back and left back for Ajax, I seem to remember we were linked with him a few seasons ago.
