With eddy being our only fit forward at the minute, should we risk him tomorrow evening? Big game Sunday and the return leg with Lazio coming up, griff will be a mile away from fitness, while Bayo doesn’t fill me with confidence, even when he’s fit .

Quinn1888

1.) 29 Oct 2019 20:56:43
Sinclair can do a turn at CF and for me is better that Bayo.

2.) 29 Oct 2019 22:59:28
Yes, and there is that young Irish guy, he is going to be a star, I would just throw him into the first team now, either to play in a two at the front with Odsonne, or to come on in an easier game as a sub for Odsonne.

3.) 30 Oct 2019 06:00:04
He’s injured aindoh afolibi the Irish bhoy.

4.) 30 Oct 2019 11:15:29
Would like to see Sinclair start up front tonight.

5.) 30 Oct 2019 18:35:51
Bitton will maybe get a shot as makeshift striker.

13 Jul 2019 23:01:15
News just broke that arsenal have offered £25 million for kt.

Quinn1888

1.) 13 Jul 2019 23:19:26
Good money but would be heartbreaking to see him go, love KT, he deserves his big money move. Hopefully he’ll come back when he’s established himself as the best full back in the world 🍀.

2.) 13 Jul 2019 23:27:14
If it's true then it will be sad to see KT go if it happens. However the lad deserves his chance at a higher level and all the best to him. He will be valued at 50 million plus after a season in the EPL. Great money for the club too.

3.) 13 Jul 2019 23:45:55
Well if true it’s now up to Celtic and Tierney now Arsenal have match the price let’s see.

4.) 14 Jul 2019 00:36:56
A cracking fee for us. Yes a true Celt but what’s to say he will come back just as good? Take the money improve the squad all round and secure the 10 for the club and fans.

5.) 14 Jul 2019 00:52:53
will he pass a medical though?

6.) 14 Jul 2019 01:18:28
We seem too have gone quiet on the recruitment front since this deal has gone quiet as much as I don't want it too happen if it facilitates 4 of 5 first teamers coming in thenit has too happen 🙁.

7.) 14 Jul 2019 02:32:51
We all knew he would be going.
We paid £3m for Boli to start and not sit on the bench.

8.) 14 Jul 2019 05:01:18
Still reckon £25 million is too cheap, but that seems to be the figure branded that will make this move happen, so in that case unless it’s £25 million up front with add ons he wouldn’t be going anywhere. I do realise some will say £25 million is fantastic money, but 1 good season down there and tierney will be quoted in the £50 million bracket. The money going around down there us ridiculous so lawwell better stand strong in these negotiations and get the absolute best deal possible for him. I’m still a bit frustrated in players coming in ie a new RB. If this deal for tierney goes through I’m fully expecting another 3/ 4 quality signings to come in.

9.) 14 Jul 2019 06:12:19
I’m a bit gutted to be honest, I wanted him here for the ten. Like another poster said earlier, how can he pass a medical unless he is actually fit and just wasn’t training to push through a move. I can’t see how we were told he still can’t train due to the hernia op and now had the pubic bone problem to passing a medical potentially two days later 🤷‍♂️.

10.) 14 Jul 2019 06:36:50
Gutted if KT leaving.
Anyone think we could go back for Castagne again if we receive £25m for KT or has that ship sailed?

11.) 14 Jul 2019 08:10:48
I great loss for us but can't help thinking it's going to be tough for him at Arsenal. They won't be winning anything any time soon and could easily drop out top 6 this season. I can even see Judas being the one to do it. I hope he stays for another year and gets a better offer and doesn't feel this is his only option.

12.) 14 Jul 2019 10:01:48
guys i will be gutted if kt leaves. but i believe he will be leaving for more than we think. i believe he is leaving to ensure we get 10iar because with his transfer money we can now kick on to a different level. it will break this wee mans heart to walk away and i believe he WILL orchestrate the green brigade again. thanks wee man for giving your young life to our club and hurry back please. hail hail.

13.) 14 Jul 2019 10:31:29
Chances are he’s off, I appreciate the league is bigger and better and he quite possibly deserves the chance to improve himself. However I can’t quite see him running back up Wembley steps with blood pouring from his mouth with an arsenal shirt on, to celebrate with fans and team mates. He will never have what he has now with us, I think he knows that as well.

14.) 14 Jul 2019 11:51:49
I think too many people have jumped the gun previously with these rumours. I for one will take everything with a pinch of salt from now.
KT was apparently leaving for far less than what was quoted 3 weeks ago by the rags!
“The deal was imminent” as they said then it went quiet.
Now that a new supposed bid of “25m” is here every Celtic fan is getting worked up again. I don’t even believe it is 25 all up front. Again some probable derisory bid of 20+ add ons
Wouldn’t trust that shower of tam shankers in a million years to report the truth, so until Celtic confirm it I’ll not worry about it too much.

15.) 14 Jul 2019 14:28:42
Like everyone else I would be gutted to lose KT and until he actually goes I still have hope that he will stay for the 10. Surely 25m up front with add-ons only means that we would be willing to sell therefore Arsenal can speak with KT about a transfer but ultimately it is his decision whether to go or not as he has a contract with us.

16.) 14 Jul 2019 17:47:00
Rumours now circulating that Celtic have rejected Arsenal’s bid of “25m”
Again, across social media so many Celtic pages and supporters getting worked up about this without knowing all the details.
We, as a club, have stated we will only sell at what we believe is the correct price (which nobody actually knows apart from our board) and also have said that we don’t even need to sell.
In other rumours, KT has apparently told a friend he no longer wishes to speak to Arsenal and wants to stay at Celtic (so who really knows now? )
I’m going to go with my gut on this and I think the arsenal deal won’t happen. But if it does happen it will be the best deal for Celtic and the player possible.
Keep the faith HH.

26 Feb 2019 15:56:10
He’s gone with his staff but left us Lee congerton 😂.

Quinn1888

1.) 26 Feb 2019 16:20:32
Wonder if he will let us extend benkovich loan.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 16:21:23
Says it all 😂

Though to be fair Congerton might be identifying good targets and the board aren't putting the money up. Who knows?

3.) 26 Feb 2019 16:28:29
And John Kennedy👍🏻.

4.) 26 Feb 2019 17:06:05
Glad he's left kennedy.

5.) 26 Feb 2019 17:25:07
He’ll take Benkovic and be back for Tierney and McGregor in the summer and why wouldn’t he? If he offers £40m for the pair Lawwell will bite his hand off as that will offset David Moyes failing to get us into the Champions League because that how Lawwell’s mind works unfortunately, I lay the blame for today’s event squarely at the Celtic board’s lack of ambition, it’s shocking!

6.) 26 Feb 2019 17:48:55
Kennedy needs to go too.

7.) 26 Feb 2019 18:28:13
Lawwell should be reviewing his role in this saga, but we all know he won’t . every time we have a successful manager he pisses them off, O’Neill, Strachan, Lennon and inflicted Mowbray and Deila on us, to me he is the problem here, he’s only interested in banking money and pocketing his obscene bonus not taking the club forward!

{Ed007's Note - Peter Lawwell is told what to do by the board.}

8.) 26 Feb 2019 19:17:27
Kev83 just out of curiosity why are you glad he left Kennedy?

9.) 26 Feb 2019 19:51:12
Because everything u have read or heard about him seems like he is a good coach.
Plus right now we need someone in there that has worked with these players.

10.) 27 Feb 2019 01:18:30
Drewzybhoy
That’s my biggest fear if he comes in for Mcgregor Tierney or Forrest how could the board or the players turn down that money treble wages and about 40million.

21 Jan 2019 06:19:28
Linked today with a Porto right back called fonseca. He’s been loaned out a couple of times already and apparently is available for less than 2million. Haven’t seen him but if there’s any substance to it, it would seem we are well down our list of right backs. Started the window with talk of 6milion Belgian, then a 4 million Norwegian, now a 2 million under 21 player who can’t get in his own side .

Quinn1888

1.) 21 Jan 2019 06:38:11
. and if Pedro succeeds with his usual plan, we will get someone in on loan for nowt.

2.) 21 Jan 2019 06:39:34
Quinn1888, I love your positive outlook. lol
We'll just have to wait and see who comes in. HH.

3.) 21 Jan 2019 08:07:21
Only 21 and Militao who is currently being chased by Real is Porto's main RB and has played every game for them this season so not surprised the lad can't in the team.

Report said Juve were looking at him in the summer, if true the lad must have something about him. Lad's contract is coming to and end which would explain low value.

4.) 21 Jan 2019 08:55:23
Have a look at his Wikipedia account. A celtic fan seems glad we are after a eight back haha.

5.) 21 Jan 2019 09:41:22
The Belgians club are quoting 10 million for him and he said he wants to play in one of the top leagues.
The Norwegians club have said he's going no where. So I fail to see how that's lawwels fault.
Isn't that the whole point of having a list?

6.) 21 Jan 2019 10:04:57
Just because it's rumoured doesn't mean it's true. We might never have been after the Belgian. We will see who is in come end of the window then we can moan or praise the signings.

7.) 21 Jan 2019 10:20:48
The £6M Belgian was struggling to get into his own side not so long ago Quinn. This obsession with transfer fees is baffling. We've already shown that if the value is there, the club are willing to spend good money. Tbh from any clips etc I've seen I think Elabdellaoui looks much better than Castagne but that's only YouTube I suppose.

8.) 21 Jan 2019 11:51:28
We’re never going to pay £6m for a right back, nor would we pay £4m for a 28 year old. £2m for a former U-21 aligns with our transfer policy.

9.) 21 Jan 2019 15:44:33
I agree with you Kev Bhoy regarding the Norwegian, from the boys I’ve seen he seems to be the better option. With regards to them saying they don’t want to sell, realistically what does that mean nowadays . We didn’t want to sell loads of players but if a buying club puts up the money we and the majority of clubs around all change their mind. If we really wanted him we may have to pay what they want within reason.

10.) 21 Jan 2019 16:17:07
Exactly quinn within reason but if a club ain't willing to sell then it takes big money to get the player.

11.) 21 Jan 2019 16:31:11
Quinn and Kev, from the paper talk it would appear that someone, somewhere thought, or was told, Castagne was worth about €6M. Then all of a sudden Lazio, Fiorentina etc. are "interested" and then the price is €10M. If any of this is actually true but none of these other teams bid then that price may well drop again. I did read something saying the player himself was pretty uninspired by the idea of playing in Scotland - again though, God knows who these "sources" actually are.

12.) 21 Jan 2019 18:39:18
Wouldn't mind us going for someone like Petar Stojanovic at Zagreb. Big Benko could sell him on a move and wouldn't cost too much. Remember him doing well against us while at Maribor.

Does anyone else have concerns that the players are starting to drift back to the Rogers way, where we are trying to score the perfect goal and walk it in the net. At the start of the season we were scoring loads of goals and putting teams out of sight, putting balls in early, early crosses etc. This to me seems to have stopped in the last few months. We need to get back to this as the slower we build up the easier it is for opponents to get players behind the ball. And we end up struggling . Also can anyone tell me what’s happened to frimpong lately, when he first broke into the side he was continually overlapping and going at the full back on the outside, has he been instructed to not do that lately, as for the last 3-4 games he just seems to face a player up then come back inside or pass back again. Last night he had loads of opportunities to go past their full back but only done it a few times, although one of the times he did, he had a blatant pen which surprisingly wasn’t given but that’s a different story.

14 Jan 2020 17:15:21
With talk of us bringing in an experienced forward, I’m not actually sure we need one. I’d just prefer us to bring in a good one. Generally an experienced player is going to be slowing down, are we saying for instance that billy Sharp is a better player than Griffiths or more experienced? Also some people are asking for a big forward to come in, again is that the route we want to go down . Most of the successful sides now play with mobile players generally with three up top, dragging players out of position. Are we just going to start pumping it up now if say we are drawing after an hour. I’d say that type of football is out dated . Red bull pulled our defence apart last year with dabbour and minamo. Neither are big . I’d def go with mobile players, what do people think?

Quinn1888

1.) 14 Jan 2020 17:50:52
I like the idea of a older forward as a sort of mentor. A lot of players take a lot of learning off of senior players especially players like broony. There’s more than just skill in football knowledge is also key and that’s where it usually shines out of older more experienced players. If we brought in a striker who could do that for the younger strikers then it’s a win win.

2.) 14 Jan 2020 18:13:51
Minamo didn't play against us mate. can't remember who was but i see the point your making.

3.) 14 Jan 2020 20:19:39
Dc, not being pedantic but he played both Europa games against us, scored in at least one of them. Only reason I remember was they really impressed me in the Europa group . Think that’s why there was a massive clamour for their manager to get the job, after the rat left us.

4.) 14 Jan 2020 21:50:14
Yeah your right quinn. My bad bud.

13 Jan 2020 10:27:30
With the impending signing of the polish lad, and strong rumours of Soro next, does this not go against what Lennie said last week that he was looking for experienced players . These may turn out good signings but why come out and say you want experienced finished articles to help out the team? 🤷‍♂️.

We played shockingly bad again yesterday, like all of us after the performance in the cup final, I was expecting us to come out all guns blazing. Both the management and team are to blame for yesterday, I said it before on here that I think Gerrard has lennies number. One thing was terrible yesterday was how easy they defended against us, then broke away with ease. In some instances yesterday they broke up the park with two passes, one long ball between our cb and full backs had us in all sorts of problems .

There was one move where Morelos should have scored at the back post where it was like watching Sunday’ morning football the way we defended . Also for all lennies talk about the players can’t do any more for him, and we played well in all his interviews after recent games. He must be watching different games to me, as we aren’t free flowing against teams like at the start of the year, we barely get a good 60 mins performance now. End up scraping through games .
We need this break to evaluate where we are and what we need to do to start getting back on track, as they are going to keep pushing on now.

Quinn1888

1.) 30 Dec 2019 20:11:57
One of the things I always expect and respect in a manager is being able to see the same game as the support win. lose or draw.
I would definitely like to see more honesty, although I expect he has one opinion for the media and maybe another for the players privately.

09 Dec 2019 23:20:19
After getting the win yesterday, we can enjoy having a laugh at their expense.
I have a worry though, we all know they deserved to win yesterday apart from The big wall. We beat them earlier in the season at ibrox, but my concern is, lately we have rarely played well against us. Before the game, I like quite a few of us thought if we turn up we beat them.

We never turned up again, last season they beat us twice at home while the last game we were under pressure and looked like losing to 10 men until tavernier made a mistake. We need to start turning up in these games and get our shape right or else we could be caught out on the 29th.

Quinn1888

1.) 10 Dec 2019 00:38:36
We will have a full squad to choose from on the 29th and we will bury them.
There were plenty times during their cheating years when we played them off the park and they had the flying pig to thank for keeping them in it until they nicked a goal.
No one cares how you play once the game is finished all that matters is that we played crap and that was the best they had and we still won.
That defeat will be a huge blow which could have a mental effect on them which could take them a while to get over.

I know it’s easy to say, I watched his goal scoring videos , he has a good record but he’s so one footed it’s terrible. A few of his goals he’s scored with literally his right ankle as he doesn’t want to kick it with his left. Goes to the keepers left and still doesn’t want to roll it in with his left.
I’d love is to sign someone that can bang a goal away but if it’s to possibly replace eddy I’d rather stick with him.

I thought Hayes played ok on Thursday, he gives his all and has a lot of energy going forward. However I watched him last week and countless times he let their winger get an easy cross into the box. Bolingoli does it but not as much as Hayes does. Maybe we would lose a little bit going forward giving Taylor a go, but he’s a genuine left back ( instead of a wing back or winger) so he may defend better against wingers.

Three great buys really, eddy, moose, Ntcham . It’s unusual for us to pick up under 21 French players, been nice if we could have held onto the moose a bit longer and used that connection to bring in a few more young players from France . Hopefully it will be a market we can keep involved with, if these lads are anything to go by.

Bauer played well, personally I thought the performance was pretty dire until eddy came on. If we are thinking of selling him in the summer, I hope we have a great player lined up because without him we were flat. Also apart from the green brigade the fans were very flat as well.
Just put this game down to 3 points, move on .

I was going to post something similar, I don’t understand why it takes us two days to have a medical and agree terms. Terms must be roughly agreed before he gets on a plane . Other supposed big clubs ( not from our league) just seem to get deals done a lot quicker than us .

It looks like the usual window for us iceman. Going to get players in at the last minute . I know we have a fair bit of time left in the window but it seems to take an age for us to sign players . Surely ground work and discussions have taken place, surely they have decided now who their number one targets are. Coming back after a period where we haven’t really played well lately, the squad needs boosting with quality, the way the fans and club felt after the Rangers defeat we should have turned around the mood by signing early. This dragging stuff out just winds up the fans more, with the shoe on the other foot, when the Rangers lost earlier in the season the next day they signed kent. It changes the mood around the place, I’m sure we will get players in but it would have been nice for them to be in early. We should have had them in to integrate with the team in Dubai •.
