jonace, surely it was our Brendan who spilt the beans to the press . He didn't demonstrate much integrity, talking to Scottish media re. Mc Ginn before AEK match.

Old man Chris

1.) 13 Aug 2018 00:13:37
He was asked a question! Funny how the press ask him but it's heads down n no awkward questions at them 🤣 get a grip omc 🙈.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 03:17:08
Brendan has signed 3 decent players, the rest shouldn't be at Celtic. His results in Europe are embarrassing and both Lennon and Strachan did much better. Brendan is in my opinion starting to think he is bigger than Celtic and if I'd have my way I'd thank him, let him leave and get Lennon back. I don't trust Brendan to spend wisely and I don't think the board do either.

3.) 13 Aug 2018 07:30:42
What utter drivel.

He signs Edouard, Morgan and Bain during the summer and you say the board don’t trust him? They missed out on McGinn, yeah it’s a bit of a sore one but highly doubt that it’s down to them not trusting him.

We should be looking forward and hoping we get through tomorrow night.

Lennon would be a complete step back.

4.) 13 Aug 2018 07:46:21
Also, don’t think for a second that he thinks he is bigger than the club, however I do think he believes Celtic are bigger than what we allow ourselves to be and should match his ambition. He wants to compete in Europe yet has that defence to deal with? He has done since he came in, with the exception of Hendry and Gamboa, I won’t even include Comperr as he has hardly kicked a ball. Hendry is still to show that he is up to it and hell knows what’s going on with Gamboa but that’s up to BR to make the call.

Sinclair was player of the season in his first year, BR can’t be at fault for him losing form.

Moussa has been a great signing regardless of injury.

Edouard looks the real deal.

Ntcham is getting better week, in week out.

Morgan need to see what happens with him.

Bain looks a tidy addition.

Comperr is a total dud.

Kouassi looks total gash.

Gamboa shows promise but that’s compared to Lustig, something must have happened with him.

Musonda was a disaster.

Hayes long term injury.

Roberts long term injury.

You could go through each managers term and see who they signed that were good / bad.

5.) 13 Aug 2018 08:22:28
Yeah the Celtic plc have a rich history of not buying when in the postion of strength. Still some cover up for them. How Brendan is getting the blame is unbelievable. It's like people don't actually follow Celtic but will make a comment anyway.

6.) 13 Aug 2018 10:11:50
If this was a one of situation regarding standing still then maybe you could see the point of the board defenders. Sadly, it’s not. It’s a pattern that has been repeated all of my life as a supporter. Waiting until this stage and still no new players for our awful defence is nothing short of incompetence.

McGinn was a symptom of this approach. Dithering, penny pinching ego trip from Lawell. Boyata, first chance he gets wants away, didn’t anybody see that coming? He’s now shamefully pulled the bad back card to miss the ganecagainst AEK and we are without Ajer too. Hendry isn’t the answer and to rely on him is unfair tonys and the boy himself.

We could be out against a team we are better than, or should have been if we had got players in early. There is no guarantees in football except if you stand still you go back. If we crash out then the blame for that to me lies at the boardroom.

After a double treble, CL money, season tickets sold and a waiting list they had no excuse for them to continue the dithering cheapskate approach. Every now and again I start to believe we will move on and get quality in to sort it at least improve us defensively. Again and again this proves to be a pipe dream. Blaming Rogers for thecsutuation we are in is ridiculous. He gave them a list, they gave him nothing to help us qualify. That’s the scandal here.

Saturdays team selection was wrong and showed we need more qualitybwhen we leave out first team players.

I actually still think we can beat this mob but it will be all the more difficult due to having to take them in weaker than we finished last year. That’s not on and if we do crash out I am clear in my mind where the responsibility for that lies and it ain’t at Rogers door. If he had signed a couple of Comper’s again then he would have been het but he has not one addition.

Another self inflicted blow. To go on the shelf with the countless others where our boards fear of investing when in front derails us. We have a fight this year for the first time, and failing to tool up for it is a dereliction of duty. £60m down the drain through complacency is a farce. Trying to deflect that failure onto Rogers is avoiding the real historical truth about the lack of balls our boards have always had.

Lawell more than most must be hoping for a result. His strategy is front and centre and he bares the ultimate responsibility as he is the man who makes the deals, or in his case, hasn’t. Poor judgement. A final thought, had McGinn been in instead of the more expensive Kouassi would have been better and anybody who disagrees with that is kidding themselves on.

7.) 13 Aug 2018 13:29:34
Fantastic post Majic that won't go down well with the far to 'faithful through and through brigade'anyone who is surprised at this board must have been in hiding for many a year
HH.

8.) 13 Aug 2018 14:34:46
Can't believe how quick some people are to stick a knife in Brendan. Shame on you. HH.

9.) 13 Aug 2018 19:33:22
Can’t believe some of the pish being posted on here. Seems there are many who are even more gullible than the sevvies. The orcs have the guts of 20 million in shareholder loans, a TOP share order to sort out, an investigation into the application for a UEFA licence, they can’t sell their new humming shirts, a squad full of dross, an under 18s manager and yet all the Scottish press can talk about is our lack of additions to a squad that has won every domestic competition put in front of them. On top of that, Brendan came out on Saturday and said there was no issue between him and the board and he is loving every minute of the job. Wake up, you’re falling for this rubbishe hook, line and sinker. We’re in a better place than we’ve been for a long time.

10.) 13 Aug 2018 20:59:51
Remember when this was a transfer rumours page,2-2 tomorrow, Forrest, Eddy.

11.) 13 Aug 2018 21:04:48
Eddy supposed to be unfit for tomorrow, Griffiths and Forrest.

12.) 13 Aug 2018 23:05:24
Some people reckon that some of our better buys were from P L and son .
I wonder who was responsible for Musonda, I know many on here were very excited at the thought we were getting him .
One quick glance at him and I who would be far from an expert, thought he was far to lights& under developed.
I don't know how anyone could stand over spending money on loan for him.

13.) 14 Aug 2018 00:05:51
can mcginn play at centreback?

nah

get over him and move on

We all slated Boyata - then he has a few good games, plays against engerland at worldcup and now he wants away - Jozo - inconsistent, injury prone and can't play on plastic. Ajer and Hendry - too young and a risk playing together. comperr just no. This is where we MUST strengthen and NOW. Our defence is and has been a nightmare in waiting. I know this, you know this, Brendan knows this, the board knows this - so why have they not bought anyone ready to go.

we never have and never will splurg on players - so mcginn/ midfielder was always a no for me - UNTIL defence was sorted.

yeah armstrong away - we have christie and allan back - both spl quality. Roberts wasnt getting a game over forrest.

14.) 14 Aug 2018 18:42:56
Only a thorough bred person would talk about signing McGinn before Kuoassi . Now I know P L was slow bringing McGinn over the line and maybe guilty of believing reports of McGinn only signing for Celtic. I am pretty sure we had Kuoassi bought a full year before losing out on McGinn.

10 Aug 2018 22:35:41
D D is too shrewd to make a public intervention, the chances are that if DD does step in, he will be telling B R to pack his bag .
D D doesn't like personal criticism and criticism of Board he takes personally.

Old man Chris

1.) 10 Aug 2018 23:15:06
D. D can bolt and play golf full time.

2.) 10 Aug 2018 23:17:44
DD should pack his own bags BR has done more for Celtic in 2 years than that man ever will.

3.) 11 Aug 2018 08:14:34
Stan it was that man, as you put it, that brought BR and Oneil in. So again your wide of the mark.

4.) 11 Aug 2018 08:55:02
In your opinion i am Kev, not so much to others. So DD being the largest shareholder decides who our Manager is? The rest of the Board have no day? nonsense, what gives him that right? Anywho i couldn't care less about DD i won't die remembering anything he has done for Celtic.

5.) 11 Aug 2018 09:01:29
He got BR and O'Neill yet the rest, Lenny, Mowbray, Strachan, Deila he's no taking any credit for? Did he leave that decision making to the Board? Aye right. More flaws than Braveheart.

04 Jan 2018 23:50:50
Its amazing to think we have bought one centre half this window and will have to buy at least one more . In my opinion over the last couple of years we seemed to buy a number of what appeared at the time to be quite good centre halves, Eric, Boyota, Jozo and young Ajer but really apart from Ajer, who we are still not sure about and maybe Boyata who we are less sure about, they haven't progressed. Buying players can be such a gamble.

Old man Chris

1.) 05 Jan 2018 00:52:26
Erik is the best centre half we half imo. but unfortunately he had to play beside efe in the early BR days. an injury has stopped him changing opinion.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 15:18:42
If u think that lump of wood is our best cb, then it shows how much we are lacking quality in the cb postion.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 16:37:12
I cannot agree that Erik is out best CH, bhoy1der. I don't even think he's our third best. Flustered and nervy far too easily, gets pulled about and bullied too much for my liking and struggles with pacy forwards. Nice big guy, but I think Ajer is already far better than Erik. HH🙂.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 01:29:47
have to agree. met and chatted with him several times and he is a decent guy. For BRs system he is too wee, too slow, his bottle and desire went a long time ago. Best thing for him is to move on now and start again after us blocking so many of his transfers in the past. Best of luck to him and I'm sure he will do a turn for another team somewhere.

Some of think that the road to 10 in a row will be more comfortable with Eddie still with us to end of season .
I have another worry and that is based on how many refs perform like A Dallas. A D allowed Dun Utd centre back to wallop him in the thighs for probably half a doz times before reluctantly giving him a yellow card after 80 mins . Other D Utd players committed tackles that del hurt Celtic players without punishment.
In addition as the ball left Christie's foot at corners and f kicks, he blew whistle and pointed to crowd of players . He also dropped play even when player had got back on his feet AD breaking up another Celtic attack.

The thing about it Lennon has been at the receiving end of enormous amount of criticism from Celtic supporters &no doubt he deserved quite amount of it . However I think that at least NL wants Celtic to do well

The same cannot be said about A D, he is determined to be as big a basta. d as his father . He cheated us and he got away with virtually no criticism or abuse . Or we going to limb along with the so called "elite referees" cheating and robbing us of our 10, and not a word of criticism.

Old man Chris

1.) 02 Sep 2020 04:23:54
The referees appointed to our first 3 away games.
Alan Muir v Killie
John Beaton v St. Mirren before it was postponed.
Baby Dallas v Dundee Utd.
Beaton will get the St. Mirren game again but it will be interesting to see who gets the Ross. County match next Saturday.

2.) 02 Sep 2020 08:29:43
We all expected it would happen, with hand picked officials every week, with the compulsory Ross running the line at Ibrox.
I have noticed very regularly, it's rarely a full-blown, blatant honest mistake; but the inconsistencies with bookings - as OMC said, penalised with soft free kicks breaking up play, 50/ 50 decisions, and obvious infringements against us, ignored and waved-on (incl pens) .

3.) 02 Sep 2020 10:31:00
There is a good video, on you tube, called Anyone but Celtic, by Paul Larkin, a lot of referees mentioned, Celtic fans of a certain vintage will remember, and even now we get some some strange refereeing decisions, the latest against Dundee Utd, when there centre half could have been sent off, for challenges against Edouard, and the referee allowing Utd to get away with a few fouls, and waiting till the 80th minute before booking any Utd player, rant over.

4.) 02 Sep 2020 11:17:33
There was a lot of fans on here saying dallas had a good game that day. I thought they were at the wind up it was some of the most embarrassing officiating i've seen.

30 Aug 2020 22:26:23
I don't know whether this will be welcome or not but Big John Hartson says. l Griffith's has just returned to training and should be ready to complete for place for our next match.

Hopefully he comes back fit and well.

Old man Chris

1.) 30 Aug 2020 22:45:09
omc i love the wee man. but he let's you down to many times. personally he should never wear the hoop top again because he has betrayed it and all our support backed him.

2.) 31 Aug 2020 00:24:10
Will Lennon play him again though? Hope he does as he complemented Edouard well last season. Helps that he can take a corner too.

3.) 31 Aug 2020 01:05:34
Griffiths has all the talent in the world and is the best finisher at the club imo not to mention his dead ball qualities. If his attitude is spot on we have Edouard's replacement should he leave👍.

4.) 31 Aug 2020 03:07:47
If griff does get back into the squad he will be 3rd choice at least (if Eddie stays) there is no way we paid £5m for Ajeti to be 3rd choice.
After the international bread we will start with Eddie and Ajeti and Griff will fight it out with Klimala for a place on the bench.

5.) 31 Aug 2020 05:34:53
Sorry Malky Griffiths ain’t Édouard replacement if eddy goes wee need to spend big again to replace Édouard.

6.) 31 Aug 2020 07:23:15
For me griffiths is behind the other 3 strikers. There’s no doubting the talents of griffiths but for different reasons he’s now became a player that Lennon cannot rely on. He’s a long long way to go to work his way back in. Like a comment above says, there’s no way ajeti has been signed for £5 million Be 3rd choice striker. And to be fair to klimala, the boy deserves every chance to prove he can cut it at Celtic. Griffiths has had his issues which the club and fans have fully supported him in the main but to come back unfit and out of condition at the start of this season simply is unacceptable.

7.) 31 Aug 2020 08:25:32
Ajeti will be eddy's replacement incase he goes and once fit I think it will be eddy and ajeti as the front two unless eddy goes during the international break.

8.) 31 Aug 2020 08:33:39
A mentally and physically fit Griff is a starter for me in every game but he might have to sit on the bench for a wee while to prove he's worth his place. HH.

05 Jun 2020 17:36:07
Now that it is becoming clearer how our away games will probably all be on Sky and our home games will possibly have a couple on Sky but most of the rest will shown free to Celtic season ticket holders by Celtic TV . As Champions 9 times in a row and with us having the biggest stadium in Scotland, I think all our away games to be played before Christmas and all our home games in the new year . Maybe by then fans can attend matches in full stadiums and so it would be a nice thank you to the fans who regularly attend in the biggest numbers in Scotland👍.

Old man Chris

1.) 05 Jun 2020 17:40:44
It will be a normal fixture list like any other season.

2.) 05 Jun 2020 18:00:43
Bit unfair mate and it will never happen.

3.) 05 Jun 2020 19:19:40
What if you don't have celtic tv, will you have to subscribe?

4.) 05 Jun 2020 20:06:28
Hope they get better commentators.

5.) 05 Jun 2020 20:25:36
Shuggie
I think season ticket holders will need to subscribe to Celtic TV.
Virtual season ticket holders will get a code which will allow home games to be viewed.
They won’t get to view everything else a normal subscriber to Celtic TV will get to view, the rest of the week.

6.) 05 Jun 2020 23:32:27
Not sure if it's been discussed but does anyone know if non season ticket holders would be able to buy some sort of virtual pass to watch home games next season.

7.) 05 Jun 2020 23:31:06
How much do you reckon
it would cost for non season ticket holders if subscriptions where made available by the club? Surely it won't be around 28pounds for 1 game? Then again surely you can't give it cheaper to non season ticket holders to watch.

8.) 06 Jun 2020 09:29:30
Murky waters pud but it wouldn't be fair at all if season ticket holders got the same deal as us non season ticket holders. Just my opinion mind.

9.) 06 Jun 2020 12:34:35
Cheers buzz will get one of the kids to fix it for me.

28 May 2019 15:51:48
The funniest post on Celtic rumours has to be the helpless Rangers2012 fan who criticised the Celtic Board for not spending enough money during the R D era .
Imagine does he not remember how the old club died through spending too much and now the new club is heading the same way with in excess of £10m over spend each year and less and less Directors prepared to exchange debt for shares.

Old man Chris

1.) 28 May 2019 18:17:34
They'll never learn! They'll lie, rob, cheat and steal to try and stop the 10.

2.) 28 May 2019 18:37:31
They wanted D. United to lose in the play off as their part of the " Hater clubs" who voted to relegate us. Relegated and Demoted are used instead of Liquidated😂😂.

3.) 28 May 2019 20:06:22
They know that every time they are liquidated they can return as the 'same club' because of the rule breakers and charlatans at the SPFL and their mates in the media who continue the biggest lie ever told.

24 May 2019 23:25:49
Well Thank God in about 18 hours the Cup Final that seems not to interest so many Celtic fans will be over and done .
We can in 18 hrs sit down, if sober enough, and discuss all possible possibilities for our new Manager . Winners and failures from various parts of England and Europe and further afield are all in the field . At the end of the day it will likely be Moyes or Lennon .
MSSM has built up the hopes of the gullible only for big bad PL to destroy the hopes . we are reminded almost daily about this summer's transfer window is the most important ever . Funny I can't remember one that wasn't . We will have some joy and much disappointment all through the window

Tomorrow's match will be very tough, our defence is usually very tight, although Bain has been beaten a few times recently . If we don't make a mistake (s) at back we should be able to get a goal or two and win our treble treble.

Old man Chris

1.) 25 May 2019 01:36:13
Chris I'm beginning to think your at wind ups now.

2.) 25 May 2019 01:36:23
If our players are ready for a battle, which I think they will be cos lennon knows all too well the tactics levien will adopt, then we should have enough to win the match. Lennon and captain courageous will have us pumped up and ready to destroy the jambos. 3-1 is my prediction.

3.) 25 May 2019 06:33:34
Chris explain why it doesn't interest all Celtic fans am baffled.

4.) 25 May 2019 07:00:14
Trolling again Chris?

Can't wait for today's game. On the edge of something truly special.

2-0 to the Hoops.

5.) 25 May 2019 07:01:30
Ffs 🙈.

6.) 25 May 2019 07:48:09
All Celtic fans are aware I'm sure of the significance of the treble. But surely we are allowed to talk about prospective managers etc. As these are important factors in our 4th treble😉. Had enough doom and gloom years supporting Celtic, im enjoying these ones👍.

7.) 25 May 2019 09:16:44
Ur bottle cracked yet welshy.

8.) 25 May 2019 09:27:56
I think a few people are baffled by Old Man Chris. I've read this site every day for years and apart from the odd troll here and there I've not been annoyed at a fellow poster like I have over the last few days with Old Man Chris.
Show a bit of respect for what the site is and the work the Ed's put in that make people want to come on just for a read or to post on ANYTHING Celtic related. People don't come on here to be told what they can talk about and when.
Rant over. I'm confident we will get the business done today. I hope everyone at the game or watching at home or in the pub with family and friends has a great day and enjoys the celebrations that will hopefully follow.
HH.

9.) 25 May 2019 09:37:23
Gotta say I love the Regi Blinker avatar, Jim! Possibly the most under-rated player in that great side?

10.) 25 May 2019 10:22:17
Quite possibly cavalcanti mate 😁. A cult hero of mine for sure. Brilliant at times, awful at others. He split opinion no doubt, will always remember during the stopping the ten going to get his name and number on my shirt and two auld fellas behind me pissing themselves. I was only a young at the time, used to sit and watch football Italia on a weekend and Davids had just signed for Juve. I thought we were on to our own wee 'Pitbull'. Alas.

11.) 25 May 2019 10:37:27
Chris why have you singled out Scott Bain regarding conceding a few goals recently, he has conceded 6 goals in 22 domestic games in 2019 one a penalty and the one Motherwell scored. oldkilly.

12.) 25 May 2019 11:14:36
I think what OMC is saying is that amongst the constant speculation about transfers and managers over the last few days, it’s actually quite hard to find the posts that mention the cup final or the possibility of a treble treble. That would suggest they’re more interested in the speculation than they are in the actual football. There’s something strange about that. I can genuinely say I have no interest in the transfer window or the next manager at the moment as I just want to enjoy one of my favourite days of the year, cup final day. Hopefully, we’ll pick up the trophy and we’ll celebrate and then once the dust has settled, I’ll wait for an announcement from the club.

13.) 25 May 2019 12:13:03
Regi Blinker. To even compete Jacki as a wing-back is some doing. He was a feckin' disappointed winger. Love it .

14.) 25 May 2019 12:15:11
PS did they literally piss themselves, as I imagine? Wouldn't be the first time, and not regi's fault nor yours.

15.) 25 May 2019 13:06:56
COYBIG , Their seems to be many on here who don't to see what is actually happening . I never make any more attempt to stop anyone posting, but like everyone I feel i am entitled to praise or criticise any post . I very much feel there has been far too many repeat posts re our next manager, playing into hands of MSSM who always wants to divide and cause upheaval amongst our support . I make no apology for preferring to discus forthcoming SCF week before final. .
The people who have spent the week talking about new manager and players, will be the very people, who God forbid should Celtic lose, will spend next week having a post mortem on result . I have heard some who want Celtic to lose to make sure Lennon didn't get job.

16.) 25 May 2019 13:01:58
More than likely. Looking back I'd probably be the same now. Everybody else with Larsson on their taps and there's me asking for Blinker. 🤦🏼‍♂️.

17.) 25 May 2019 13:34:42
OLDKILLY I mentioned Bain has been beaten a few times in recent games .
I posted that because I thought all Celtic supporters would have been aware of his tremendous record in his earlier games . We all know he conceded only 3 goals in his first 20 games ( one was by cheating ) and has conceded 3 goals in last 2 games .

Buster, I am sorry my posts annoyed you, I am also annoyed at your post picking on me . You are not a regular poster. Yet when you do. U accuse me of not respecting the ed's . I can assure you I have every respect for these very fine people who give up a lot of their and vert expertly run and control the finest Celtic forum that I have had the pleasure of coming across .

After 15 minutes and up to last 15 mins, I thought we played superbly . This was the best I have seen Celtic play for a long time considering we were missing 3 very good players Eddie, Julien and Forrest . I really was happy at what I saw, but the series of calamities that led to Livingston’s second goal was the start of a very nervous and shaky closing period . We appeared to be nervous all over the pitch and we will have to do whatever it takes to over come these nerves or we will be in trouble.

Why do a handful of fans on here think they know better than N L
Have they managed a team to win SPL, to qualify for knock out stages of UEFA with a game in hand?
If we had a Dutch man or a Spaniard our fans will be purring with delight .
It seems that because he comes from Occ 6, our fans hate him as much as the Rangers fans used to.

Some people are talking through their hat . Our goalkeeper is certainly experienced.
Our centre half Shane Duffy regular EPL is not a project . Our striker is certainly not a project either . We have resigned a left sided attacker, who we had last season . Now our Board May be to blame for getting certain things wrong but signing projects isn’t one of them .
Despite our Ed telling us repeatedly that Lennon has nothing to do with transfers, some people want to put blame on Lennon .
Very few top Managers are involved in signings nowadays.

So KT’s great love for Celtic since before he made his first Communion, kissing the badge m, leading fans in Celebration, signing 6 yr contract was all a load of bollicks
He didn’t mean any of it, it was K T and only KT that mattered .
I expect many of our better players will want to chase false gold in EPL etc . and I am very happy for them to go with the blessings of club and fans . This will always happen with the super rich clubs in the leagues around us acting like vultures.
Just don’t have players make idiots of us making out that they are special club people when they are not.

Our initial formation is not the be all and end all . It is how we adopt to nullify any threat that arises and to create opportunities and chances up front . Mistakes must be kept to a minimum with colleagues sniffing out danger before a mistake becomes a disaster. . As long as our players keep remembering they are better than the Rangers2012 players and as long as we make them feel their inferiority, we should be all right . Nerve wrecking, hard to watch at times, but that’s nothing new.

As a team we have won 9 in a row and are unbeaten in league cup and Scottish Cup since many of our contributors have been in Primary School, so it seems the club and management teams have been doing something right, however if we fail to win 15 SPL ‘s in a row there will be a clamour to sell all the players, sack the manager and get rid of the Board .
There are many clubs in Scotland who would love to have our problems.

Have Salzburg got a similar agreement with Austrian FA as Rangers2012 have with Scottish FA . Both have wide range agreements with facilities to update and add new relevant clauses as required.
