All we ever seem to do is “look” at players…. I think we’re all in agreement signings and a good few of them were badly required yet so far we’ve two unknowns from Sheffield Wednesday at a grand total of £400 grand and linked with players from Japan to Croatia to Russia now France with absolutely nothing concrete happening……what worries me is the pattern. We’ve ange now in every other interview say “ we need players”, “we’re working hard”…… all the same nonsense we here every other transfer window right up to the final day yet every other club including Sevco seem to have no problem in doing. Celtic need to give the fans something and give it soon…. fans have bought into the season tickets again in huge numbers, we’re bringing out 3 new strips after only doing so a year ago, and since January sold players in excess of £18 million pounds, not to mention the wages saved now on the likes of laxalt, elyounoussi and Duffy, plus browns wages. How much longer is it going to take to get badly needed reinforcements brought into the club. My god we’ve now ntcham wanting to stay? The guys no kicked a decent ball in nearly 3 years? Still got christie, ajer and edouard to sort out aswell and only 10 or so days away from these qualifiers? Complete shambles.

It's a shambles, how can you identify players the way we have and then seemingly pull out in the final stages, as buzz said a few days ago in a post Ange is doing the job with his hands tied behind his back and he is bang on, we are not just a club looking to strength for a new season we are team needing a serious rebuild and yet hear we are as usual. im no interested in all this it's early in the window carry on we knew what needed to be done and we are nowhere near where we should be in recruitment terms it's a joke.

I seriously think at time lads it's just a smoke screen by celtic to make it out they are looking at this and that player. I know its early days but l would rather nothing then this talking are ongoing to then celtic have pulled out if the deal. At time we are such a small club mentally when it comes to transfers. Starfelt missing training as Rubin Kazan reported back for training the Centre Back was a noticeable absentee.
Stephen McGowan reports Celtic are in discussions with Ben Davies from Liverpool, don't know what kind of deal but knowing Celtic it'll be cheap option so a loan with maybe a option to buy.

Mally I'd be giving this boy a chance this season, he's very highly rated and with what I've heard we need to get him on a long term contract, not seen him play, only going on what I've been told. also would help persuade the youth to stick around if they see some sort of pathway to the first team.

Still been linked to Mooy and that's a deal I'd like to see as I think we still lack a wee bit of bite in the centre of the park.

Crying out for a RB but a LB is a must to as Taylor is a squad player at the most in my opinion.

Obviously after Tuesday the same errors keep coming from our Keeper so that needs to be addressed I'm sure Barkas will get done for match fixing because I've never seen someone make so many errors in my life lol!

Then, GK (+ No.2) , RB x2, LB, CB and x2 Strikers I think are still required.

Punt or get rid of, Eddy, LG, Bitton, Barkas, Bain, Ralston, Mikey, Julien, Rogic, (although he won't) .

Appreciate doing the above in one window is highly unlikely but that would be my thoughts based on last season and what I've seen so far.

IF we are even after him I think it would be dependent on him getting relieved of his contract for family reasons which I've read he is negotiating, but again I don't know if there's anything in this just what I've read.

I know its hard to forget what's gone before but we are in serious danger of writing off the changes that have happened in our club. They guys have been in place all of a few weeks and it's the same tripe from all angles. Rome wasn't built in a day and jumping to conclusions with no evidence is only going to damage us going forward.

There are so many reasons why things move as slowly as they do and who's to say it's not the pkayer holding up the transfer? It's been reported that this Swedish CB would be taking a pay cut to join so why not assume it's to do with that? Our top earners have been broony at 25-30k and eddy on about the same, I'm led to believe so if the guy is asking for the moon then we've every right to not be held to ransom.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone is creating transfer stories on behalf of the board simply to look active, because there is no way I'm believing half these stories!

Get offered good money for Ajer could of bought 2 decent CBs for that price, or at least 1 CB and a RB.

Sell Christie and use the money to buy another CM and a winger.

Sell Ntcham and Shved along with the sales already made that should buy us Doig and Nisbett.

And if Eddy goes balster the squad with another striker Rb and GK.

It's dragging it's heels, 25th June we sat and listened to the Chairman, Dom and Ange and I came away very positive for the first time in a long time, yet more than 2 weeks have went by and we have 2 young prospects!

I think that we've all been had and whatever we bring in won't be the quality we have been hoping for.

If Celtic sell Ajer at £12m with a sell on clause then sign Hickey, Vusckovic and Starfelt if at there rumoured prices that's roughly the £17m mark so only really forking out £5m.
If only though lol probably got more disco lights to put in with the Ajer money 🙄.

Looked like that Wee ray Barry Ferguson set up his team to cause as many injuries as possible towards our players. Don’t think he cares to much about the result probably more pleasing to him to see so many of our players go off injured.

Our last game against Hibs was probably the only time this season where our bench was strong. Good that we beat of intreated English based clubs and Ange player his part in convincing the boy. Can’t slate the board they’ve worked swiftly along side Ange! I work for a firm that Desmond had shares in and he and others cashed in and made themselves a pretty penny or two so maybe it’s helped in this winters window ?.

Your touching on other topics here. I’m saying I personally think that another right back isn’t what’s needed and especially one who’ll be on a hefty wage. There’s more to been a manager than just training and coaching and that’s what I said Ange should have a say which is a input on transfers and at Celtic you don’t get much of a say do you? Lennon got told he had to work with what back room staff he had and seems like Ange has to as well. I don’t know what Doherty will add to the team that we don’t already have if the rumour is true! Look at Spurs Levy makes the transfers calls and how many managers and trophies have they won? Good managers should always have a input on transfer and at Celtic sometimes it seems that’s not the case and that’s why I said that isn’t a Ange player as in type of player but nevertheless he’ll probably be happy as it’s another body to work with.

{Ed007's Note - How is Doherty not "an Ange player" though, because he's Irish, because he doesn't come from the J-League? How many of the 12(?) signings we made in the summer were Ange players, Kyogo?
At most top clubs managers have very little input in transfers and probably only on first team signings at that. Spurs have Fabio Paratici - who is MD of Football or similar job title - think about this, how come clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG etc etc even Ajax don't fall apart every time they change manager/coach, because the manager is only a cog in a very big wheel. They don't put all their eggs in one managers basket, look how that worked out for Arsenal when Wegner left, look at the state of Man Utd because they are being ran the exact same way as Celtic with no real structure and no real long term outlook although that will probably change now that Rangnick's there.
How's this for a scenario, during talks over CVV it would be a dereliction of duty if new CEO Michael Nicholson didn't ask Spurs who they have available in January, maybe Nicholson's came back with that list and asked Ange if he fancies any of them and Doherty is "one" ???? that caught Ange's eye, like Juranovic he can play on either side and further forward.
Maybe Doherty's good friend Joe Hart recommended/vouched for him, maybe more of Hart's friends fancy a move to Celtic but no matter who comes in they will ALL be Ange's choice.}
